If you're attending a concert at Benaroya Hall, this is the play. Muse is nestled in the back of the building and overlooks 2nd Ave, as well as some slivers of the sound. We were attending a later show on a Saturday night and booked a table 90 minutes before it started. The staff is very nice, very attentive, and 100% on top of everything. They made sure each table had plenty of time to get to the concert they were seeing, and what really impressed me, was the attention to the reservation notes regarding food allergies and restrictions. Our server, Sophie, was amazing! She knew exactly what food options for us to avoid pulling from the tables and offered to grab us plates directly from the kitchen that did not contain any of the allergens. The menu setup is straight forward and a really great deal. $45 for chilled small plates (apps), a main entrée OR the ever rotating carving station, and the dessert table - or $60 for access to everything. We went with the $45 option (amazing for basically a three course meal) and had the perfect amount of food. read more

I'm sorry, I was just a little disappointed and confused. It was all kind of bland and basic. I could pick any teriyaki place in town, pay $10 and really enjoy it. For the convenience and atmosphere alone, it was worth it. We really enjoyed our date before the show. I noticed another couple just had drinks and dessert, which makes so much more sense in hindsight. We'll be back for sure for dessert and drinks, after dinner somewhere else. read more

Muse is a pop up that operates on performance nights at Benaroya Hall. They have a two hour window from the opening of the front doors to the start of the performance. The setting is an event room at the hall. That's a whole lot to overcome. We think they did just great. The menu has a little something for most everyone. The service was terrific. The prices were fair. The servers didn't need to be reminded that we had an 8:00 pm curtain. We split a surf and turf dinner by ordering the crab cakes and the sliders. Paired this with a wonderful Chianti Classico, and two desserts and coffee. We didn't want a big meal before settling in for a symphony performance. That was just right. To cap it off, we had prepaid parking in the building and never needed our coats for the evening. read more

Beware for single dinners! They treat you like trash and encourage you to leave. I made a reservation for a table and when I arrived they refused to sit me at a table and advised me that single people need to sit at the bar. (Small crowded and uncomfortable.) Came here with a party of 6 before seeing the Seattle Symphony holiday pops. I have to say that the one draw to this place is you can have dinner here and then practically walk to your seats. So convenient especially when you park in the garage. Loved the atmosphere and the waitstaff were extremely attentive. Here's my take on everything. Prime rib was absolutely to die for and the sauce that came with it with the onions was wonderful. Didn't see any horseradish sauce and would either suggest that or some au jus. Would have loved the pork but it always seemed to be out when I was sitting there. My bad because I should have asked. Caesar salad was good but a little overdressed, the beet salad wonderful along with the squash. Drinks were superb, the bread pudding needs work. Overdone and rather dry. The apple tart mouse and cheesecake were so so. I'd like to also suggest something chocolate in the menu. read more

There is a lot to love about Muse. First and foremost, when you're seeing a concert at Benaroya Hall, you're there! Eating dinner before a concert can be stressful, as you need to make sure you have enough time to find parking, hope the restaurant is running on schedule, hope the traffic from the restaurant to the venue isn't too bad etc etc. All of that goes away when dining at Muse. After dinner, you simply walk a few steps from the restaurant to the concert hall. Of course, all of the above would be worthless if the food wasn't up to par. Muse has recently reopened after being dark for two years due to the pandemic, and they're doing it right. The concept is "small plates," and there are three price levels to choose from. The first price point is cold small plates only, the second is small plates plus a hot carving station, and the third is both with an added hot selection from the chef. My wife and I chose the second level. It's an "all you can eat" concept, but don't confuse this with a mediocre hotel buffet. All the food is individually plated, and everything we tried; from salad, to pork tenderloin to BLT crostini to desserts was fantastic. The carving station the night we were there was prime rib and purple fingerling potatoes, and it was amazing...I went back for seconds. Since the reopening is so recent, Muse is short-staffed, but everyone, including the manager, pitched into help. All in all, it was a great experience, an experience I would recommend to anyone seeing a concert at Benaroya Hall. read more

Great value and location when you're going to Benaroya Hall for a concert. You can arrive early and have some fine dining at a precise cost as you pay by the # of courses. The venue is no more than just 5 minutes from your seats; so you can actually wait here for the curtain call before leaving for your seats. There are many other locations around Benaroya Hall to have dinner, but none have this close proximity and value you're going to derive from to Muse. This is a really good choice if you've got a date and taking them to a concert or your want dinner before the concert. read more

My husband and I had dinner at Muse this weekend before a show. It was our first time at the Benaroya and we were a little confused about how to get to the restaurant. We were sent down a long corridor and I had a Spinal Tap "Hello, Cleveland!" moment, but eventually we emerged at the restaurant. It was not a symphony night, so the restaurant was only moderately full. We had a reservation, but it probably wasn't necessary. The restaurant was spacious without feeling cold, the vaulted ceilings and floor to ceiling windows provided lots of soft natural light. Tables were spaced generously enough to not feel crowded and to afford some privacy. The view wasn't particularly amazing but it was a nice view of typical downtown Seattle architecture. We were seated promptly and our waiter was on the scene right away to take our drink order. He was attentive, pleasant and efficient. Cocktails were served with minimal wait and we were given adequate time to peruse the menu without feeling rushed. We both opted for the two-course pris fixe menu, at $40 each. A 3 course pris fixe menu was available at $60 and all items on the menu were also available a la carte. I had pork rillettes pate for starter and short rib as my main course, my husband had fennel soup for starter and a spring pea risotto as his main course. The food was well prepared and delicious and the portions were large enough that we ended up taking some home. (Lucky we didn't order the dessert; we wouldn't have had room!) Given the location, I feel like Muse provides upscale dining at an exceptional value. I think we will likely make Muse a regular part of our evening out when we see a show at the Benaroya. read more

I went to Benaroya Hall a lot but never noticed there's a restaurant inside of it. The place is in the deep side of a hall. Food is good but with similar price you can better one in downtown Seattle, I think. read more

Visited Muse recently for their grand opening since the pandemic, was not disappointed! I loved getting to pick my own appetizers and as many as I wanted--such an amazing idea. Everything was great and the service was as well. Highly recommend the chicken satay. read more

We have been to Muse a number of times and have been satisfied until the last visit. It was a Saturday night before a show. We were seated right away and service was prompt and friendly. All was well until I tried to order the Beef Short Rib Bourguignon and was informed that they were out of it. I've never seen a restaurant run out of an entree item before. I went with my second choice, Pan Seared Chicken Breast. I'm usually a big fan of chicken but this was very bland, no flavor to speak of. My friend ordered Eggplant Rollatini. She offered me a sample with the warning that it was tough, and she was right. We love the ambiance of Muse and on the other visits I would give 4 stars. This is a beautiful restaurant with great ambience. The food was wonderful but service unfortunately fell short. Whenever I've gone to a nicer restaurant like this and I tell the server that I don't eat gluten or dairy, the server typically takes that in stride and personally makes sure that my meal meets those criteria. This time, though, the server seemed a bit thrown, so I had to guide her through what items needed to be subbed out. Then I ordered the dessert that is normally sorbet with nuts, cookie, and whipped cream. I ordered it and specified it should exclude cookie and cream, but the runner brought it out in its normal form. I sent it back and when it came back out, it was just sorbet with no nuts. It took a while until the server came by to check on us and then she went back and brought the nuts back. Also, we were waiting on the check and finally asked another staff person to get our check because we had to get to the concert. It was not crowded, so there was really no reason for the inattentiveness. So, all in all, good food and environment, but the mediocre service will stop us from returning. Really unfortunate given that it would be a great accompaniment to our season tickets. read more

My husband, 2 kids (13 & 11 year old daughters) & I had dinner for the first time tonight at Muse. We "won" one of the grand prizes at a auction which included 4 symphony tickets plus a $200 gift certificate, so we were only there for that reason. We didn't know what to expect, but frankly, weren't expecting much more than passable. Wow! We eat out a LOT at Seattle's top restaurants and I have to tell you that Muse holds its own with any of them. The fact that even my picky, picky kids - who we HATE to bring out anywhere "nice' to eat because they always hate the food - thought it was all amazing. While I might enjoy Sitka & Spruce or Volterra, my kids would hate them, so I'm so glad that we all found something we loved here. Everything we ordered was fresh, beautifully presented and delicious. My kids each had a cheese plate to begin, which they devoured. Our starters were equally great - prawns for the hubby and a rich but balanced chicken terrine for me. Hubby's halibut cakes were moist & well seasoned, but my Shephard's Pie, made with filet mignon, was easily the best dish of the night. My kids got fairly basic dishes - pasta for one and a plate of turkey with mashed potatoes for the other - that they both really enjoyed. Dessert was a very rich (almost too rich, the slices were double the size of what they comfortably could have been) chocolate ganache that none of us were able to finish. I really wish I could have though - it was so incredible. The ambiance is just ok - it felt a bit like we were a ballroom at a conference center, although the large bank of windows looking out on the Sound & downtown made up for it. The service was great, though - attentive without being fussy. We were also the youngest people there by far! Mostly a miss (other than the garlic mashed potatoes). Waited about 5 minutes to be seated as the two guys actually at the host stand told us that they'd likely seat us in the wrong place and we had to wait for the hostess ... Received water promptly and shortly thereafter wine was ordered ... then a very long wait for anyone to come back to take our order. Arrived before a Friday night performance within 20 minutes of the restaurant's opening. They were already out of the fish (halibut) which several of us wanted. We all started with the fresh green salad with radishes and roasted apples with an orange vinaigrette. The greens were fresh, but limp due to overdressing ... and the dressing was overly sweet. Not enough radishes (my plate only had two very thin slices). Unimpressive start. My mother and I ordered the lamb and my husband ordered what was essentially a pesto pasta dish. About 25 minutes after the salad plate had been cleared, a server appeared to tell us that the chef did not want to send the lamb out as the ends were cooked beyond medium temperature and were gristly. We were offered prime rib with garlic mashed potatoes and charred broccoli (which was not actually on the menu we were given initially). Entrees arrive about 35-40 minutes after salad plates had been cleared. My husband didn't care much for his pasta ... nothing special. The potatoes with the prime rib were warm and delicious. The broccoli was warm and nasty (had a gas grill char taste). The jus or sauce was too salty. The prime rib meat was initially cooked to medium temperature, but was actually cold to the touch (both mine and my mother's). No one came by to ask how our meals were so I had to flag someone down -- when I told her the meat on both of the entrees was cold, she ran off saying she would talk to the manager ... how about ... let me warm that up for you ... or is there anything else you might like? So, we're now running up against a time constraint for the start of the performance, so we decide to start eating the prime rib even though it's cold. The manager came over about 10 minutes later and apologized and mumbled something about "taking care of us later" as he walked off ... well, we were not offered any gratis desserts (we didn't have time for them anyway) or any discount off the bill, so we were not take care of at all. Service was terrible -- had to keep asking for more water and other service item and no one checked in on us while we were eating our salads or entrees. Two separate people came by to ask us if we wanted dessert (again no time left) and then we told one server we wanted our check, then another server came by to ask if we wanted our check (we told her no, that someone else is already getting it), then the first server came by again and asked us if we wanted our check as if we had not already asked her for the check. Sheesh .... I don't believe there's a full on-site kitchen; seems like hot items are pre-cooked and then reheated because the website refers to a catering company. Won't be back ... read more

New Years Eve Symphony, my better half reserved a table for 3. An impressive place, very high ceilings with windows to match. Just the right amount of lighting. We were seated immediately. Water poured into our glasses, menu in our hands. It would be a night to remember......but.....for the wrong reasons... The food is what we came for, not the lighting, not the windows or the ceiling. We ordered 2 of the Beef Wellington's and 1 pasta dish. The beef Wellington was tough and chewy and lacked taste. I would compare it to hospital food, it was so bland, not amount of salt and pepper would remedy the taste. The beef itself was probably graded as "standard", "store brand", meat. Grades of meat similar needs to be stewed for quite a long time to be palatable. The vegetable was over cooked and mushy. The sauce... bleh, beef gravy would've been better. The potatoes was good but can someone really ruin mashed potatoes? The pasta dish was super tart, they've used too much lemons to the sauce. The dessert was just baked bread dough with a few pieces of apple and a melon ball size scoop of ice cream. It was only half eaten with 3 people tasting it. The waiter came by and looked at the half eaten dessert and didn't ask if the dessert was good. He was probably afraid to bring it back to the kitchen and take it off our bill. The waiter was attentive, but steered us into ordering crappy meals. He mentioned that the Beef Wellington and the Pasta dish were good a good choice. The bill came to over $190.00, w/o gratuity. I don't mind paying the money for good food, I hate throwing money away for something that is not enjoyable or good tasting. Next time we attend the symphony the dinner reservations will be at Wild Ginger, NOT at Muse. read more

I enjoy this restaurant but only if I want to impress someone, or myself. It has a nice decor and location and they try to make you feel important. I think the staff could do a better job though at little details----they ask how things are a little too frequently and one server even joked about that. They tried to take my plate away when there was food still on it. Not a big deal but its the kind of restaurant that has an upper-class feel to it so I'd think their staff would be a bit better in the details. I think the prices are much too expensive for the quality of food but for some, the atmosphere is probably worth the price. The location and decor are sure to impress. I'm confused as to how someone goes there though if you don't have a ticket to the Benaroya Hall. We had to show our tickets at the main door just to get inside the hall which then leads to the restaurant. I asked the person at the main hall door if one had to buy a concert ticket to eat at the restaurant and he said 'yes' but inferred that they make exceptions. I wasn't sure what that meant but it sounds like the restaurant is only open to those that have a concert ticket that night. read more
