We started with the French Onion Soup, which was everything you want it to be: hot, rich, oozy, comforting & incredibly satisfying. Definitely a delicious start to the meal! I was feeling a little peckish, so I opted for the Reuben Egg Rolls & I am so glad I did! These golden-brown beauties are filled with corned beef, Swiss cheese & sauerkraut, then served with Thousand Island dressing for dipping. Basically, all the wonderful flavors of a Reuben wrapped up in crispy, bite-sized perfection! Hubby went with the Chicken Caesar Wrap, featuring grilled chicken, crisp romaine lettuce, Caesar dressing & shaved Parmesan cheese tucked into a soft white wrap. We opted to upgrade to tater tots which made a hearty & satisfying dish. Sometimes the best evenings are simply good food, good company & a comfortable neighborhood spot... O'Rourke's delivered on all counts! Highly recommend. NOM NOM NOM #YUM

It was spitting rain that evening so we ate inside, but I imagine the outdoor seating would be even better on a nice night. A musical duo (guitar and piano) was playing a set of light 80s hits, and it was the perfect background for dinner -- everyone in the place seemed to be enjoying it. For food, we went with the blackened cod over mashed potatoes and broccoli, plus a burger with fries. Both were delicious. Service was quick and attentive the whole night. Great views, great music, great food -- highly recommend for a casual night out on the water.

I swear I've reviewed this place before, but I guess not. Here it goes…read more I've been here on multiple Fridays, I specifically come for the music bingo because the host is so nice and energetic. I usually get the same servers every time, which is nice because it's consistent and they are both very attentive, and they also sing the karaoke songs which I love . The food is reasonably priced they make a lot of stuff from scratch. You can find some of their from scratch items or new menus on Instagram, which I also follow. They also do other themed nights throughout the week. The parking lot is a little smaller, but it's enough. There's also on street parking both in front and on the side streets nearby. The food is always consistent. I've had a lot of stuff on the menu. It's good.

I have been to Tavern in the Square in Garden City twice this summer and I've had really good…read moreexperiences both times. My only sadness about Tavern in the square is that they don't have any type of fried cheese. Sometimes if I'm just grabbing late night cocktails I just want some mozzy sticks to nibble on. However, they do have some really nice apps, in the past, I've had the pretzel, the whipped feta dip and burrata and all have been great. For an entree, I always get the same thing - the Bayou Chicken Pasta. I'm not usually a huge fan of cream sauce and pasta, but I love something with a good kick. This pasta has chicken, corn, tomatoes, slices of some type of green pepper that I think gives it a little bit of heat as well as Cajun spices and Parmesan cheese on top. I usually ask for extra sauce and add Tabasco sauce and it has some great flavor. I've been really impressed by the cocktails here lately. I ventured in February and was made a delicious gin and guava cocktail. I don't know if they have guava anymore, but it was so good and I wish I'd gotten the ingredients. On the menu for Summer is this lovely lavender haze cocktail, but I do not like the citrus cold foam because it's a bit too bitter so I always have that taken off and add a little bit of Club soda instead. I also really like the salted caramel martini, and in the past, if I wanted more lavender or didn't think the salted caramel martini tasted enough like caramel, they have always brought over simple syrup or even a little more of the flavored alcohol to give the drink the intended flavor. I really appreciate that type of service and I've never been nickel and dimmed for that either. The service has always been phenomenal, and I overall like the vibe. It's a really big restaurant and so I've never waited very long to be seated. The bathrooms have always been clean, which is a huge one for me. I definitely will keep this in the rotation, especially when they have a lavender gin.

Rock music played not too loudly in the background as we were served and as we looked at the menu. The menu is digital. I hate this. Maybe they had a physical menu, but we didn't ask. We grumbled amongst ourselves and scanned the QR code and used our phones. It might seem like a small thing, but I really, really hate using my own phone to look at a restaurant's menu while at sitting at the restaurant. Anyways, I digress. For drinks, we got the chai latte (with oat milk) and coffee. We ordered the Special Eggs Benedict (half portion, for one person) and the shakshuska. The coffee was good. I appreciate the attentiveness of our server and that they came to refill the coffee. I really like the chai latte and glad that they listed which one it is (Rishi Masala Chai). The egg benedict has a really thick homemade bacon. It is soft and falls apart readily, but was a tad too salty. The bread was a bit tough and too thick for our liking (maybe we should have read the description more carefully oops, because when they say thick they meant thick). The fries were tasty. There was just one egg for a $26 benedict. The shakshuka was my first time trying shakshuka! To me, it tastes pretty similar to chili. I really enjoyed its tangy tomato and spicy flavors. There were two eggs in it. Honestly, I think it would be better with like four eggs. Now, the garlic bread: the garlic bread was so good, so garlicky. The garlic bread was both of our favorite. Overall, good vibes and good food and good customer service.
