Either my teeth got a lot better since I see Dr. Proctor or the previous dentist was just trying make money. The first time I went, I went for a routine tooth cleaning. I had a dental hygenist. She was great. She gave me the x-rays and everything one would expect. Dr. Proctor came in and I had no cavities and no issues. In the several years I have been seeing him, I have had additional work done but nothing I would not expect. I have referred several people to him. I really do not think anyone I referred actually ever went but I have recommended him. I would recommend him.

She could do her job with her eyes closed. I could feel her confidence and tenure just with the way she composed herself. There was a student in the room with us who was also so kind and attentive. The reason that I came in today, was because for new patients they have a $99 special, which…read moreincludes the exam, and a comprehensive cleaning. Halfway through, before we even get to the cleaning, they bring me a price list, that includes everything that needs to be done. Apparently I have two cavities, but the thing that caught me off guard, is that the cleaning that is initially included in the $99, of which I still had to pay regardless if I got it done, was the fact that the cleaning cost $1,014. Now that price, is discounted, because I asked about the cost. Otherwise, it should be over $1,100. Now some people are going to tell me that I should have insurance. I haven't had insurance in years, because it's a waste. I'm 30 years old, and I have been to a doctor twice in the last five years. On top of that, my treatment plan, had my name and my date of birth incorrect. But also, instead of just filling the cavity, they decided that they wanted to replace my current feelings, which don't seem to have any issues, and replace them with Crowns. Which that by itself brings the price up $4905. So the total cost of everything that I came in for today, that they said that I desperately need, comes out to $6944. I guarantee if I drive all the way back to Louisiana and go to my family dentist, and pay out-of-pocket, I'm probably going to pay less than $2000. That includes two extractions, and a root canal, and filling a cavity if it needs to be done, as well as a cleaning. What is really aggravating, is the fact that I pay the $99, and I didn't even get a damn cleaning. You know, they seem really nice and upfront at first, but this place is about as close to a scam as you can get. I don't normally use that word, because I know what a real scam is, but these people straight up will take your money, and run with it. I won hundred percent recommend that you stay away from this place, and find you a dentist in the area, that isn't some sort of a franchise. Because a lot of times in franchises, they will sacrifice quality for quantity. And that's exactly what this place did.

They need to pay more attention to detail at the front. The room had this odor, was kinda gross. I was very disappointed in how the experience went. I am very disappointed with North Star Dental and dentist Pham. She is so incompetent and…read moreunprofessional. She was just doing a sales job instead of being a dentist. My routine cleaning appt.was at 2:30 pm. By the time I was called in, it was 3 pm. Everybody was so disorganized in that office. Pham came in and pushed for me to get X-Rays done even though I have already emailed them all the X-Rays that were taken 2 days ago from my orthodontist office. I told her I went to see him for my root canal that was infected..she was pestering me to replace my root canal with her. I reminded her that I just came here for a routine dental cleaning only. After that, she started pushing for me to get deep cleaning instead of routine cleaning even before measuring my gum pockets. I told her again, I just wanted routine cleaning. She did not stop...she asked one of the front desk staff to check with my insurance on deep cleaning. By now, it's 4 pm already and nothing has been done to clean my teeth. One of the staff came in and told me that it will cost me $281 out of pocket to do deep cleaning on the left side of my mouth and that Pham will take 45 mins to 1 hr to complete the deep cleaning. After that she will take another 30 mins to finish routine cleaning on the right side of my mouth which was fully covered by my dental insurance. Finally, Pham came in to do the deep cleaning at around 4:15pm and she was done cleaning the entire mouth in 30 mins. I immediately told her that I was very disappointed with the cleaning she did. It did NOT feel like deep cleaning or routine cleaning. All my previous routine cleaning lasted at least 45 mins to 1 hrs. I have done deep cleaning in my younger days and it was nothing like this... This was what I expected when I signed up for deep cleaning on the left side of my mouth but the incompetent dentist Pham DID NONE OF THIS: 1. Measuring the gap between my teeth and gums with a periodontal probe 2. Inject local anesthetic into your gums to ensure you don't feel any pain during the treatment. 3. Use a dental tool to remove tartar from BELOW your gum line. 4. It will take AT LEAST an hour to do half the mouth All she did was use a scalar tool and scraped my entire mouth without any pressure... Typically, you will feel your gums sore after a deep cleaning. All I felt was my teeth had not been cleaned and did not feel any soreness after her so-called deep cleaning either. It's a shame that North Star Dental has such an incompetent dentist like Pham. BTW, she was busy chatting with her assistant the whole time about her wedding, school and children instead of focusing on the patient during the so-called deep cleaning process. PLS DO NOT LET JENNIFER THO PHAM TOUCH YOUR MOUTH. SHE DOES NOT CARE ABOUT THE PATIENT. SHE IS ONLY INTERESTED IN RIPPING THE PATIENT OFF. SHE IS THE WORST DENTIST I HAVE ENCOUNTERED IN MY LIFE!!!!
