Have been with Monarch Dental Murphy, TX for years...used to be good, but no longer. They also have seen a turnover in staff. Went in for a 6 month cleaning and questioned a charge on the bill when I went to prepay for the service. I was told it was because of my dental history of having a root planing, but that had been years ago and I have been on a 6 month, normal cleanings for at least the last 2 years. The dentist had said everything was fine at each cleaning and they were not doing anything different from a normal cleaning. I asked what the charge of a normal cleaning was since I assume I'm being charged more and they wouldn't tell me. Then I told them I was going to file a complaint, but would pay for today. They initially took my credit card, but then refused to provide service and do my cleaning. read more

The workers are nice people and good at their job. I got my braces from here, and I see progress with my teeth. There is on problem, they are almost always out of stalk for the normal colors whenever I get my appointment. My only problem with this place is that they usually don't have all the colors in stalk. Otherwise, its a good place but I'm a bit tired of having to step out of my comfort zone and choose a totally new color. read more

If you would have asked me a year ago I would have genuinely given five stars but now I say two stars might be generous I don't know what has happened but I scheduled my dad an appointment and then I don't know if they could not find it but the took 30 minutes extra to even confirm he was on the schedule. My sister then came for her appointment and they told her she was not on the schedule. If you want to be cheated and mislead then you cannot find a better place than Monarch and they stand by their name, it is a Monarchy. They have a huge sign displayed in their window $39 Exam and X-Rays. We did not see the sign and they charged us $99 per child a total of $198. When we asked they said promotion has expired and it is $59. Even then our service should have been only $118. They have very lousy customer service and very rude staff that really only care about cheating people and luring them with false advertisements. Stay aware and stay away from this place, there are many better places in Murphy to take your family to and without being cheated. Today, my husband, my daughter, and I visited Monarch for an appointment that we had on the same day. I noticed how comfortable and organized this place is, especially the workers in it, the team, the work team composed of inquiries to each one of this team, each of them extremely wonderful, proficient, courteous, and courteous in treatment. And experience and clarification of every question we asked them about what we needed from a plan for our dental care and treatment as well. Mrs. Adriana R. with her presentation, Mrs. Sandra with her smile and the dentist Dr. Samata Kona who supervised our dental care and cleaning, and also the kind lady, the assistant for her work in the radiology department are all amazing, knowledgeable, kind, attentive, and listened with intent. In fact, are all wonderful, proficient in their work, and have commendable experience. Seriously we had a wonderful experience. Would not recommend this dentist, being new in the area figure we would pick a monarch closer to home. Got there the faculty were great, until it came to the doc. Not very personal , she had made her mind up to what proceedure she was to do, with no other options. In my opinon I dont think she had bothered to really look at my xrays. Got fustrated with her not listening so we ended up going back to my old monarch 45 min away. And got my work done with no problems. read more

My daughters dentist recommend I take her to a pediatric dentist to have a cavity filled. When I called and made the appt. they told me they had a pediatric dentist on staff (which they do not) and I took my daughter in, she was already afraid of the dentist. The dentist there tried to fill a small cavity which took her two hours. They also told us they used Novocain but when another employee came by, they noticed there was a valve not turned on, so the Novocain was not administered, however, we were billed for it. My daughter cried the entire time we were there. It was the worst dentist experience I have ever had. After visiting another Monarch Dental in Dallas, a real pediatric dentist, they told us the filling was so badly done, it would have to be redone. 1. My husband just finished his first appointment with them this morning. What a waste of 1.5 hours of his time with x-rays, consultation, etc. I had scheduled him for a routine cleaning, yet Monarch refused to provide him with the service the same day because he supposedly has other dental issues. What a load of crap! If you schedule someone for a cleaning, please provide that service and not try to upsell your patient with unnecesary dental procedures/treatments - $700 for deep cleaning and another $1000+ for receding gums? He had his teeth checked 9 months ago with our trusted dentist in CA (we recently moved) and she said his teeth are fine. I had scheduled an appointment for a cleaning next week and called to cancel. The lady on the phone wouldn't even send me an email to confirm my appt has been cancelled. She said they don't send emails for cancellations. Ok, but you send emails to confirm appointments? Avoid coming here. Run the other way unless you want to be given the sales pitch. Read the filtered review. I wholeheartedly agree with that review and wish I had taken his advice. I have many things to say here first starting with I regret not reading the one star reviews. As well as many others I wish I could give this a zero star rating.. here is a list of what happened that was TERRIBLE 1. Dr joy only cares about making the most money off of you period. 2. You don't need to see a specialist for an easy tooth removal don't let them try to talk you into that. 3. This is a box corporation they don't actually care about their customers. 4. A root canal should under NO means be 4 thousand dollars.. And guess what you don't need to go to a specialist dental surgeon either (which they will insist, just go somewhere else) 5. Terrible customer service. They told me on a Tuesday they were going to all me back as soon as the doctor got back from lunch but yet no call. So I called on Thursday and it went to voicemail no call back. By Saturday I was in so much pain I could barley speak thankfully my mom is awesome and called Saturday morning (keep in mind on their website it says they are open until noon) they were very short and rude to her and said We would have to call back Monday. So Monday comes around and they say they couldn't do anything I have to go to a specialist even though I was suffering they wouldn't even see me! 6. Dr. Joy is NOT thorough, she sat down looked in my mouth for maybe 10 seconds tops and said I need a root canal for 4 thousand dollars 7. Dr. Joy Will try to scare you into more expensive procedures like the root canal for 4 grand. I said there's no way I can afford that in not working due to the pandemic and me being immune compromised so I asked how much to pull it to stop from being infected again after this time. She said all these horror stories of my teeth completely collapsing and my jaw being ruined. 8. They don't actually explain stuff like say a root canal to you they just play you a terrible quality video. SO after my awful experience I said screw it I'm going to go somewhere else this is just ridiculous so I went to another dentist here in Wylie and it turns out I don't even need a root canal!!! It's an easy and fairly cheap fix that a root canal would not have fixed. So if you value your money, good customer service, decent humans, and good work done to you mouth PLEASE go anywhere but here. I will never ever return or recommend this dentist. Hard upscale. Refused to do my insured free yearly clean if I did not pay 600$ for a "deep" cleaning. Went to another dentist and he cleaned my teeth and told me to save my $$ and just brush twice a day instead of once and I would not need an invasive deep cleaning. Also said one of the two claimed cavities was not a cavity and did not require any treatment. Monarch tried to sell me 2700$ of service and only $1500 would be covered by insurance. The other dentists charged me 70$ after insuranse for a cleaning and one filling. This place is a rip off. read more

I had my lower wisdom teeth removed. It cost $800 dollars with insurance. I had major infections and still have bone spurs surfacing. Now they are asking for another $500 because this procedure should of been under medical instead of dental. They will not file an insurance claim with medical so I will have to do it myself. Its like they don't understand how to file a claim. I cannot believe they don't have the ability to file under medical. If its outside of the "box" they don't know what to do. Total idiots! This location is amazing! The staff is beyond friendly and always greet you with a smile. I recently just got my braces taken off after two years & I am beyond pleased. Dr. Anas Athar and his team were great. They were always open to answer any of my questions or concerns. They were always about my comfort and satisfaction. I drive quite a distance to see her, but she and her staff are well worth the drive. Dr Joy is very experienced and explains procedures to her patients. This office is nothing more than a scam. I went there 6 months ago to get a cleaning, they would not clean my teeth until I agreed to a $600 "deep cleaning." They engaged a number of scare tactics like showing me pictures of rotten teeth, painful gum procedures where they have to remove some of the gum tissue to clean the teeth to save them, etc. I've never had a problem with my teeth, ever, so I was reluctant to fall for this scam. Yesterday I saw a new dentist (private practice) as I just moved to Colorado and the hygienist said my teeth were perfectly healthy and no way did I need a deep cleaning, no deep pockets in my gums, etc. She said the x rays would show any problems that would warrant a deep cleaning and there were none. I told this new dentist about the previous visit here and how they would not clean my teeth until I agreed to a deep cleaning, and he apologized on behalf of the profession, dental practices like this give the industry a bad name, etc. Avoid "corporate" chains like Monarch as they will scam you every time. Their hygienists and dentists have revenue targets to hit with every patient or they will be terminated. The advertised specials are there to lure you in so they can scam you. Don't fall for it. Go to a private practice instead. read more

Worst dental experience of my life. I went for teeth cleaning and they told me I had deep gum infection which will cost $1000 plus which was not covered by my insurance. That I needed to do it ASAp or loose my teeth. After, I paid for the service, I started having second thoughts and decided to get a second opinion. The second dentist after examining me told me that I did not need the procedure. When I got my credit card bill, I found out they did not refund the $1000 plus I paid. I've been going back and forth with then for 2 months and still have not got my refund. I finally filed a dispute today with my credit card company. Beware of this monarch. I love this practice! I have been a patient of Dr. Joy's for years. She has had the same office manager and hygienist for as long as I have been a patient. They take their time with me and listen to my concerns. Today, I was seen and the visit was great! I work a very hectic schedule and the OM, Veronica worked with me until I was seen for gum discomfort. Dr. Joy is a sweetheart and I have referred family and friends. My visit was fast, the wait time was minimal and I wouldn't trust my teeth and gums to anyone else. Toni, the hygienist's is also a gem. Although I did not see her today, she came in and wanted me to know that she looked forward to seeing me soon. That meant a lot as she was busy and still made the time to acknowledge me after learning I was there. If Toni or Dr. Joy leave, I love them enough to follow them. read more

If you are planning to go there please stop. One of the worst dental office I ever in to. I moved in to Murphy,TX and thought I will try out this dental. It was ok service and they put me in to dental hygienist Tony and she did ok job but the price put for that was 1000+ when I'm suppose to pay 237, and they put me in to credit card. I was not able to recover money from dispute even asking so many time the Monarch admin front desk guys. They refused to look at their record and made me pay most of the billed fees even with late fees. After so much try I had to find out they missed submitting claimed to insurance company by their overconfident so called expert clerks and made them admit their fault(it was very very hard as they are dumb) and send credit back for about 600. Still trying to recover rest of the money that I paid. It has been a nightmare. read more
