I ordered their Nutella stuffed French toast it came with hardly any Nutella on it, also no syrup included, and I ordered the 3 chocolate croissant that was missing the syrup, the pictures on the web site are very deceiving.

Turkish Breakfast Plate was fantastic. A little nibble of everything. I recommend enjoying the Simit with cream cheese and honey.

S.O. and I made it a habit to come here more often. Mumu's Cafe has incredible baked goods made fresh and their breakfast options are delicious. Highly recommend the Turkish Breakfast Plate. Service is generous and the cafe itself is charming. Bring your beloved here.

Food was delicious, would definitely come back. There isn't much space for you to eat there but the people working there were nice

My wife and I came here for brunch after we finished shoveling ourselves out from a recent snowstorm. I ordered a chicken panini and my wife ordered a turkey wrap. My panini was good but they definitely skimped. There wasn't a lot of meat, red pepper or pesto in the panini. It was also incredibly dry! My wife said her wrap was good but they also skimped on it. There wasn't much food when she looked inside the wrap. Very small seating area. Only room for 6 people max which is not ideal for a cafe. Since we came during a snowstorm there was only one other person there eating. For this reason I was very surprised by the long wait time. They also didn't have many drink options at all. I'm curious as to why they call themselves a cafe. The gentleman working the counter was friendly! I must admit the prices were very reasonable. It's not really possible to spend a lot of money here. Everything on the menu is very inexpensive. That's the saving grace for Mumu's Cafe.

A cute little shop, smack dab in the middle of a residental area. I had to drive around the block to get parking. I found this place by accident looking to see if another bakery was open. But this is not only a delicious bakery they have breakfast and sandwiches, Panini's etc. I was here first the treats, boy did they have some good desserts. The two cupcakes I tried were very moist and delicious. I also had a banana cake and a blueberry musmffin all very delicious Now I'll have to go back to try the savory options.

Outstanding food and coffee, completely homemade. They crack the eggs as you wait. The space is small and homey. You may need to wait a bit for you meal, but it is well worth ir!

I would rate this place 6 stars if I could!! This cafe is one of the best in Troy! It is family-owned and the owners are always extremely kind and friendly. Prices are fair and the food is EXCELLENT. I always get the breakfast sandwich on a croissant and I am never disappointed - honestly the best croissant I have ever had! I go to RPI and have been a regular here the last 2 years (it's only a short walk from campus). I enjoy eating in their small dining area (there's outdoor seating as well when the weather is nice) but they also make it easy to pickup or order via DoorDash. I have had nothing but good experiences here and will continue to patronize this fine establishment for the rest of my time at RPI.

Wow the food is amazing. Had breakfast food & their pudding cups. Can't wait to try their lunch sandwiches. The tiramisu is the best I ever had. All their goodies are great not to sweet. Love that

We ended up here for breakfast because it was the only place open. There is a single table with 2 chairs. We got a bacon, egg and cheese on a bagel (an eggel in my world) and French toast. The gentleman carefully wrapped it all to go, despite the fact that we were sitting at the table. We ate quickly and left. The eggel was good, the coffee fair and the ambiance poor. Atmosphere would have been fine if we were grabbing to go, but server/employee/owner made no attempt to make us feel welcome.

The Budapest cake is amazing. Like, wow, I regret only getting one slice! Very moist, fluffy, and just the right amount of sweet. The strawberries and blueberries on the cake were very fresh and delicious too, very high quality. I will be going back ASAP for more baked goods. I'm already craving more. : ) The Samit was also very tasty and the sandwich was a generous portion. I plan on returning and trying more items, especially the pastries. The inside is small but cutely decorated and the staff/owner were very welcoming and kind. Glad that I know this place is in my neighborhood. I'm officially a fan.

The inside of my Turkish styled Panini breakfast sandwich

We went to Mumu's this morning for breakfast and were very happy with everything we ordered. The menu was very interesting and definitely a nice change from the common fare that you would find in most other places in the area. I ordered the Turkish style Panini which had feta, tomato, American cheese, olive pesto, eggs and Turkish pepperoni on a toasted Panini bread. A delicious combination of flavors. My girlfriend ordered the Turkish breakfast plate that had a simit. That is a like a sesame bagel which I believe was made in house. It also had scrambled eggs, cream cheese, feta cheese, olives, tomatoes, grapes, walnuts, honey, butter and additional toasted bread. She really enjoyed this and appreciated the variety. I also had a cup of Turkish coffee which had a very deep rich dark roasted flavor. It was the first time I had tried this kind of coffee and I'm glad I did. We would definitely come back and try other things on the menu. They have an amazing looking pastry and waffle menu as well.

It was darkly lit inside (with pinkish/red lights no less); it was extremely loud to the point that I had trouble understanding what my wife was saying (which might not be the background music!); and the prices were expensive. The entire night they played 1980s New-wave British music which I don't mind, but had it been something I detest I would have lost my mind. We were seated at a tiny table with a small candle which provided some actual heat on the cold winter night. Our server was extremely helpful and though he didn't have all the answers he did offer to go and find out. They have a long menu but it doesn't have a lot of food options on it, with most of the pages devoted to alcohol. They had only one dessert option when we were there. My wife and I both ordered the Hanger Steak with fries, mushroom sauce, and green salad (about $40 each). Hanger steak is my favorite cut and hard to find so I jumped on it. Food came out in about 25 minutes, which is amazing considering how small their kitchen is. The steak was cooked perfectly (they didn't ask how we wanted it), smothered in a lovely mushroom sauce, and covered an ample portion of crispy homemade fries which were so good I would have thought them bagged frozen items. Even the basic salad which was just various types of lettuce was great. They aren't cheap, but they are focusing on "farm to table" and that means quality food at commensurate (fair?) prices. Burgers and chicken sandwiches are $15, so if you want something lighter but still tasty you can go that route. Speaking of light, if you go into the bathroom on the right you will find a cold, dark, tiny room lit solely by a PINK bulb. It feels like being on a spaceship (as if I know what that is like), and after when you leave seeing the main light in the restaurant is very jarring. It was a fun experience but not inexpensive and not one that checks the boxes that I look for in a restaurant. Dark, loud, and cramped might be hip for the young or "save the earth" crowd, but I am too old to give up creature comforts for such things. The food, though expensive, was absolutely outstanding in every way though and I won't forget that steak for a long time.

Since that, it went downhill. The server took our drink and food order. Then we watched for 20 minutes as people that came in multiple parties after us got their food and we had nothing. Then she brought 3 out of 4 meals. My girlfriend ordered the special Raspberry Nutella French Toast. It came with strawberries and we were told, "we're out of raspberries so we substituted strawberries." That is total BS. How about telling us you are out of raspberries and asking if we want something else. My girlfriend can't really eat strawberries since they make her break out. Even worse is I STILL didn't have my food. Server said, "yours is coming, but I didn't want these to get cold." After the rest of my party was halfway done with their breakfast and I still didn't have mine, I asked for a manager. I was told there is no manager there...another load of BS. Server came back and I told her I didn't want my food at this point. She said, "okay, I'll just bring the bill." Are you f'ing kidding me??? You expect us to pay for this crap?? Needless to say, I will NEVER be back to this $hithole. Service is horrible and they will not let you complain to a manager. No manager is there on a busy weekend day? I find that hard to believe. There is limited parking on the premises but always parking on the street if you don't mind some walking. The slightly rustic, lodge type of interior matches the friendly vibes as well as the interesting drink selections, including a side menu filled with signature coffee whiskey cocktails! Their tipsy cocktails and beer menu is also quite attractive. My group and I were able to walk in on a weekend evening for dinner with no wait and while it was packed inside, it still felt roomy enough. However, the surrounding tables were rowdy and the noise was reverberating. Our server was attentive though she did admit it was busy and the wait time for orders would take a bit longer than usual. The menu has plenty of starters that are highly shareable, poutine, salads, soups, mac and cheese, burgers, pizzas, sandwiches, wraps, and quesadillas. Haven't had real poutine in ages so I decided to try their gravy fries with smoked cheese curds and added bacon. It was a good portion for the price ($15+) and came out hot on a cast iron skillet. The cheese curds weren't the type I expected and melted down too much, and did not have that squeaky cheese bite one would want in poutine. The gravy and the bacon worked well with the fries though! The smoked brisket French onion soup ($8+) was extremely hot when it first came out and I had to let it cool down before taking a spoonful. The cheese was so bubbly and delicious and the soup itself was flavorful (maybe a tad too salty), and had a balanced amount of onions and brisket. I would definitely get the soup again. Their barbecue pulled pork quesadilla ($15+) was also a bit too salty and meat was more tough than preferred. We also tried two of their mac and cheese selections, which came in a small cast iron pot each ($17+). The bacon chicken ranch mac and cheese was good but the jerk chicken mac and cheese was not as memorable (not much jerk flavor). Kudos for having a build-your-own mac and cheese option as well as a mac and cheese flight if you want to try more than one flavor. I'm glad to return to try other menu items at this tap and tavern and see what else catches my eye. While this visit wasn't spectacular, it also wasn't bad. The French onion soup is one thing I know I'd get over and over again. Oh, they also have a credit card transaction fee that you will see once you get the bill. Pay in cash if you mind said fee.

I walked in with no reservations. I noticed the space is very large with multiple dining rooms. I'm tired, I asked for a table close to the open kitchen. Once seated, I'm given a large, leather menu. There are lots of great entree choices but after I review all the selections, I'm going with the SK Bistro Burger. The entree also has a wine pairing suggestion, a Cabernet Sauvignon. It's like they read my mind, I'm sold! I'm starting to read about the restaurant, they have a large wine cellar and was recognized by Wine Spectator with an award for excellence. My bistro burger arrives, I can see this is a well crafted burger. From the pretzel bun to the thick burger patty, Scarlet Knife served me a great meal that I would typically order at The Capital Grill. My only issue, the onion straws were cold. We arrived early and were seated promptly; water was poured before we even had napkins on laps. This surprised me, as reviews indicated that service could be slow and this was a holiday. But this started a constant service of someone checking in on us every 2-3 minutes (I am prone to exaggeration for a good story, but I assure you this was true. I kept checking my watch to confirm). We put in an appetizer order (deviled eggs) that was served within a minute or two. These were well seasoned and tasty, ice cold from the refrigerator. It's not that they didn't taste fresh, but they were served to us so quickly that I know that they were prepared well in advance and only the warm pork belly was recently prepped. Our meals were served as the appetizer was finished (I was still chewing). At this point, we were 10 minutes into our seating. Our meals included steak and eggs, which I incorrectly assumed would require a little bit more time. Not true! Our plates arrived, piping hot and tasty enough...but boy did we feel rushed. Our server, the manager, bussers, and other attendants stopped by our table every few minutes. I recognize this was a holiday, but there was not a steady stream of people coming through the doors and plenty of open tables were available. Our conversation was repeatedly interrupted with these check-ins and we all took great care to eat the meal as slowly as possibly to stretch things out. At this point we were on track to be out the door in 30 minutes. As a table we made a decision to order dessert and we were able to savor and dawdle long enough to get us to one hour. $180 later, we finished our Easter visit out in the parking lot where no one was pushing us out. (I will note that several families arrived after us and completed their meals in 30ish minutes. What's special about brunch when it's that rushed?) I wish I could review the food better, but my taste buds hardly had time to register the experience. Entrees were hot but clearly prepared well in advance and kept at the ready under heat lamps or in warming ovens. The dessert was cold and sweet as appropriate, but had that prepped yesterday feel to it. This is not what I expect from a restaurant that markets itself as a fresh farm to table establishment. I don't quite regret going to Scarlet Knife, but there are enough quality restaurants in the greater area that I probably won't return.

The order was taken at the register and then brought to our table. The food tasted great and was served quickly! All the dishes had a beautiful presentation! Coffee was a French press and was really good! The place had no cream or sugar for the coffee. Also there were no salt and pepper shakers on any table. When I asked for some salt they gave me a plastic sauce cap with some salt on the bottom to take it with my fingers. It was quite weird. For some reason "Butternut Squash Bowl" had only one egg while all other breakfast items had two. Not sure why this one was special. The real problem however was the smell. The very first impression we got upon entering was a strong smell of fried bacon and other foods. It was like standing next to a stove because the space is fully open, with no divider between the sitting area and the kitchen. In such a setup you need a strong hood exhaust but that in turn would make a lot of noise. Anyway, instead of taking our time enjoying the breakfast and great coffee we had to finish it asap and escape to prevent our jackets absorbing the smell :( We are giving Liza's of Troy 4 stars is it got 5+ on the food and coffee and 3 on the interior and atmosphere. Food ordered Butternut Squash Bowl - excellent and nicely presented. Had to order additional egg though. Breakfast Bowl - excellent and nicely presented. Big Betty Breakfast Sandwich - delicious.
