While traveling back to Vermont from the Finger Lakes, we popped in here for lunch! Fantastic food and friendly service. We will definitely be back.

We stopped for breakfast due to Yelp reviews & I was not impressed. Very heavily decorated for Valentines Day and a nice explanation on the menu about the name. I asked for water and was told no tap water due to COVID19 (is that a thing?!) and didn't feel like paying $1 for a bottle of water. The omelette was meh. Very runny which I adore in my scrambled eggs but am sort of indifferent to in an omelette. Home fries were ok but needed salt. My partner's omelette was excellent though because he had the house made sausage which he loved. Maybe you need to order their house made specialties for awesome food. Good service and good safety measures but I wouldn't return.

Do you ever meet someone for the first time and the encounter makes you happy the rest of the day? My family and I had one of those experiences today at the Ribbon Cafe. We stopped for breakfast while traveling for the Easter weekend. The lady who greeted us and waited on us, Christine, was one of the friendliest and warmest people I have ever met. Seriously, this lady is so wonderful!!! It turns out, her brother is the owner/chef and he prepared breakfast for the five of us quickly and efficiently. We ordered a variety of dishes and were all very pleased. The buttermilk pancakes were a particular highlight in addition to the Easter cupcake my wife got for the road. I should also note that they use proceeds from the restaurant to support various cancer support organizations, and provide free meals to homebound cancer patients. Still need a reason to check this out?...........did I mention that Christine might be one of the nicest people you will ever meet??

Rise and Shine, house made sausage and gravy & biscuits!! Yummy!!

And after my experience, I went and read all the reviews. This is a thing apparently. And to make it worse, the owner, instead of apologizing with humility and concern to the guests that keep him in business instead writes entitled zero accountability messages back to patrons after leaving bad reviews. Honestly that's immature and short sighted. The good will of the public doesn't last forever. But on the other hand, if you desperately miss the rudeness of Europe then this is truly the place for you!

We arrived and just the right time because once we were sat the wait began! I highly recommend getting there early. We came for breakfast and were sat promptly. The staff are hyper aware of their table's needs and it's so refreshing. We ordered a breakfast meal (eggs bacon and potatoes), and two brekky sandwiches. Just an FYI the sandwiches are ENORMOUS, so I recommend sharing if you're not that hungry. Coffee was great quality. The restaurant itself is tiny, but makes for an intimate experience. Seated right away and amazing service. We ordered from the spring menu spring scramble $20 and strawberries and cream French toast $20 and famous flakey biscuit $7. I'll start by saying the biscuit is a YES, absolutely LOVED and a must get!!! They also serve with marmalade jam which was a favorite. The spring scramble was normal as you'd expect which is good but nothing wow. The French toast was pretty popular and now with seasonal strawberries i had high hopes but it was a big no for my group. It was overly sweet, practically drenched with a cinnamon flavoring that made the toast soggy and not tasting like bread anymore. Thankfully the strawberries were good but besides that, we couldn't even finish half of it and didn't bother to take it home. They even gave syrup on the side like no way would anyone add even more sugar on top of it. I wished I had a warning that it would be overly sweet in cinnamon flavoring beforehand because it didn't look like that in the pictures I saw. When paying, you have to bring your receipt to the front counter and lucky for us, after waiting awhile for our check, the was a huge line ~10 people of people paying for bakery and cafe which was really quite an unexpected mess at the end. Overall still a great experience but improvements needed.

Really good! Stopped in yesterday at an odd time - around 4pm - to order early dinner take-out…read more We were hoping to try the masala fries - but they didn't have any fries. So, we ordered the Channa Papree as the appetizer. Dinner choices were the chicken tikka masala bowl and the chicken bowl...both are served with salads. We were told that it takes about 25 minutes to prepare the tikka masala (in case we didn't have the time to wait). We did! It was Saturday and we grabbed a strawberry lassi to enjoy while we waited. There is a nice seating area near the entrance so we hung out in the big armchairs. The lassi was good; it could have been blended more as most lassi concoctions that I've had are very creamy with just the right amount of yogurt tang....this one was "ice-chunky". But it was still tasty. As promised, the meals were ready to go in about 25 minutes. They traveled well and were still hot when we got home. I really enjoyed the channa appetizer; lots of different flavor layers throughout with just a subtle hint of spice. I tasted the chicken tikka masala; well spiced cubed chicken over basmati rice (same rice that I had with my chicken bowl). Some of the chicken pieces were really big and the portion was definitely generous. My sliced chicken was also really good - different flavor profile from the tikka. Since the salad is served in the same container, it gets pretty warm....but it saves having a separate to-go box for a small salad. They also have an entire rolled ice cream selection - plus chai-inspired hot drinks and other desserts available. I wanted to try the naan and asked if we could order a side of it. Unfortunately, they still considered it "lunch" time and couldn't sell me a piece or two of naan. I found that a little weird, but I chalk it up to being a fairly new business. Plus, the girls that were working in the front - I'm guessing - are not related to the owners. Friendly and competent enough, but always embrace an opportunity to upsell! I'll be sure to check this place out again soon.
