There is a traffic light on Hoosick Street, so getting into and out of the parking lot is easy. There is no table service. My observation is that the vast majority of their business is take out. You order at the counter and after they're done making your order they call your name out and you pick it up at the counter. Just like Burger King or McDonald's. Your order is displayed on a touchscreen that asks how do you want to pay, what kind of receipt you want, and if you want to leave a tip. I usually leave a small tip, although they don't do anything other than their job. They just take your order and make your food and that's it. I can't see anything that differentiates good service from bad service. Eating in is functional but not comfortable. Similar to a fast food restaurant The bathrooms are relatively clean, the tables are usually, but not always, clean. The dining tables have hard wooden benches. At least they have cushions on some of the benches that make sitting a little more comfortable. All in all, a typical fast food dining experience. I've narrowed my selections down to one or two items that I get on a regular basis. They are consistent about how they make each food item. Every order is identical, neat, and tidy. I stopped at Bowled in Troy for lunch very recently. They served up a variety of bowls including salad bowls, grain bowls, acai bowls, smoothies, waffles, toast, and cooler drinks. You can build your own bowl with choices of ingredients or they have signature bowls, waffles, and toast too. I ordered the Spicy Chicken Grain Bowl ($9.95 plus tax) which was comprised of brown rice, tomato, romaine lettuce, black beans, jalapenos, tortilla strips, soft grilled spicy chicken and Sriracha dressing on the side. The portion size was modest for the price, but it had very spicy flavors. For dessert, I ordered the Sweet Basic Waffle ($5.95 plus tax) which was a thick soft waffle (not warm) topped with almond butter spread, flax seeds, honey. This waffle was very filling to eat and the almond butter and honey made for a sweet and nutty flavor. Overall, the food here was pretty good and fresh. I used to live on Hoosick two years ago so I would frequent this location but recently I moved back to the Troy area and decided to get just two avocado toasts which were completely un toasted on soft bread with almost the no avocado spread. It was also a Saturday morning and not busy we were the only two people in there at 945am. It's not often I give a place like this five stars, but the service Alyse gave us -- a couple of folks just passing through -- deserves the highest rating. The food was top-notch too, if a bit overpriced, but the portions are ample and the ingredients fresh. It's always nice when you can get a take-out meal with great food that is good for you. We were looking for vegan options, and while there were two items specifically listed as vegan, Alyse went out of her way to suggest ways of making some of the other offerings vegan too. We went away with dinner for tonight and breakfast for tomorrow. Give this place a try -- you won't be sorry. read more

nice environment, friendly employees, and scammed out of a salad. I ordered the salmon salad bowl. 90% of the bowl was lettuce 7% veggies/adons 3% salmon. For perspective, I got a quarter of a fillet of salmon and added quinoa and chickpeas. for $15 I could have had an entire filet plus a salad. Quite honestly I gave 2 stars because the employees were very nice, but the salad add-ones are so small they don't justify the price. Other than convince, I'd rather throw together some raw ingredients at home. the quality of ingredients are comparable to Walmart. Very disappointed. Compared to other salad places I've been to, this place feels like a scam. If I wanted only lettuce with just 7% protein and add-ons, I could have made this at home for a fraction of the price.
