Stopped here after work to meet up with some people for happy hour. Great outdoor seating and views for days. I have been in this vicinity before but the outside chairs and fire pits have given it and instant ambiance boost. The cocktails are good and made by smiling jovial bartenders. I would suggest meeting up here more often for those warm summer nights. My friend d had the grilled cheese and it was really good with apples and sautéed onions. Perfect hidden gem! We enjoyed sandwiches and cocktails for a late lunch. I can't pass up a tuna melt and Mulligan's didn't disappoint. With that I had a blood orange margarita. Although refreshing it isn't something I'd order again. My husband ordered the turkey club. He said it was 4/5 but the fries were the star of the lunch tray. 5 out of 5. The outdoor seating area is spread out with plenty of seating, lots of shade and a great view of the ocean. I felt like I was having a picnic on the beach minus the sand. read more

Stopped here on our bike ride to watch Sunday football and have a drink, it was a little busy, but that was expected for a weekend. 4 girls behind the bar, 2 on their phones. We decided to sit at the bar top thinking we might just get a little service since at the bar, as there were a couple people in line. Nope. Went up and ordered drinks that she then proceeded to serve to us sitting at the bar. My husband finished his 1st beer and again thought she would serve us at bar since no line, but had to go to register anyway. BTW, we had an open tab. So drink #3 my husband decided to go up and order a cheeseburger for us to split (he told her we were going to split in fact), she asked for his name for the order, sat back at bar where she served him his beer. Heard his name called, he walked around and didn't see where to pickup food, sat back down thinking it wasn't him and they would surely bring food to us. Mind you, all other orders where people were sitting down inside they delivered their food to them at their tables. Again, open tab, sitting AT bar. They called again and we found that our burger was in a to go container. The server literally said, oh I thought you wanted it to go. Agaim, open tab, sitting at the bar. The manager then asked if we wanted napkins as she handed us the container. Uh, yes, we are eating a burger! Wouldn't one need napkins regardless? The worst customer service. We planned on staying to watch game but paid our tab and left. Burger & fries were fantastic, just the service needs improvement. The manager needs to go! read more

Very slow service. Asked for steak to be medium (just pink inside) The 1st time it was served after 45 minutes. The steak was very rare. Sent it back to be cooked to medium. It came back 20 minutes later and was still rare! Waitress was very understanding and apologetic. We said it's not your fault. We ate here last night. Food was good. My only complaint is someone brought their dog in the restaurant and it was walking everywhere. Standing next to us wanting food and going under our table all around our feet. Walking all over the restaurant. Didn't feel very sanitary. Had cod fish tacos and it was 2 tacos that looked like thin fish sticks with some cabbage on it and no sides for $14.00 they tasted awful, all dried out and I threw them in the garbage. I also got sweet potato fries for $9.00 that had this red spice over them and mushy texture. Both way to spicy. I guess the idea is with the over spicy food you will drink more. I had to drink so much water after tasting both and threw both away. The worse value for $24.00 I ever spent. I didn't try anything else on the menu and won't in the future. I luv the outdoor space but the food I will pass. The service/waitstaff was good. read more

This review will be mostly based on the vibe. You likely can't find a better place to relax. Big open lawns with shade, music, lawn chairs and fire pits, all right near the beach and downtown Avila. As for the food, the fries were absolutely delicious, ranch was watery. I got the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich and it was a little $$, but still tasty and the bun was light and fluffy. As someone who eats NHC a lot, this didn't seem like it was made the traditional way, but more of a fried chicken sandwich with hot sauce on it. As mentioned in other reviews, the vibe is great, the view is good, and the food is far above standard bar food. The menu is very extensive. I would definitely stop by if your looking for great place to relax for a bite or drink. read more

Food was fine. Tried taco's and chicken sandwitch but nothing really special. You would order and wait for the food. The tables are out with shade. There was live music and the environment was pretty chill and 5 stars for that. Parking was hard to find. In short, you want something good and enjoy live music go for it. read more

We met friends for outdoor dining and cocktails in the evening in Adirondack chairs around propane fire pits. They had live music that night. I enjoyed a salad and my husband had their house-made clam chowder in a bread bowl. Both meals were generous portions and very good. They have a full bar with a variety of choices and a generous pour. The outdoor seating area is pretty and overlooks a neighboring bay and bridge. I would definitely return again when visiting the area. I would definitely recommend a visit her for a meal and/or cocktails. read more

Mulligans is great for what it is. It's like a golf course restaurant but the menu is really big and filled with upper level bar food. The outside seating and view is pretty good also. I've eaten here before while golfing, and this is my first time here just to eat. It's all been good. read more

We love Mulligan's, great food, drinks, and atmosphere, but we were taken aback and made to feel like criminals this last visit. We often attend the music events, and always buy food and cocktails. We know no outside food or drinks are allowed. At Sundays music event we had someone come over to our table and actually sniff our friends water bottles, to make sure their wasn't any booze in them. Plus, after the event, a staff member came by our table and mentioned they had been looking at our bag, and checked it. Really? It's our bag with our dog food, water, and treats in it. Sorry to say, but this continues, we'll probably stop going. :-( read more

A real hidden gem in Avila Beach. Located on the Avila Beach Golf Course, Mulligan's is a terrific place to have lunch or cocktails. They've recently changed their menu and although it was good before, it's even better now. The four of us ordered Fish & Chips, Pastrami Sandwich, Mulligan Burger, Fish Tacos and Fried Pickles. Everything was amazing, especially my son in law's burger. Their fries are the best. Shannon, Ivy and Emma are all terrific bartenders/servers. My wife and I often come to Mulligan's for an adult beverage or two. Mulligan's seems to have almost no social media presence even though it's been in business for years. I took a picture of the menu so others can see the tasty choices that are offered. Unsolicited advice: Mulligan's needs a website.....most locals that we know are surprised when we bring them...they had no idea Mulligan's was there and are pleasantly surprised. read more

The Avila golf course in mulligans to a good job. I love their big open, expensive patio and grassy area with fire pits and shade. Sometimes they have music outside. The big menu has lots of great choices. Wines and draft beee! Great people too. read more

I really enjoy their deep rough wrap with sweet potato fries. It tastes fantastic, it's everything I want in a wrap plus it comes with a Chipotle dipping sauce that is super good for both the wrap and the fries. The staff is always smiling and super friendly, I've had nothing but really good experiences at Mulligan's. They also have wonderful outdoor seating where you can get your own private fire pit and chat with your friends. Oh yeah, there's also the ocean view, hahaha, almost forgot that! read more

Combine an outside ocean view with a rich menu (including breakfast all day, salads, burgers, sandwiches, taco, etc.) and spacious outdoor Covid-19 conditions and you have a winner. While seated in the adirondack chairs near the bar/ordering area, the music on the outdoor speakers might have been a bit loud, but the food and values were good. It's a great place to also enjoy a drink with the beach in the distance. We appreciated that the help was conscientious in sanitizing tables and chairs after folks left. With the post covid prices, ordered the chicken skewers special and it came with NO peanut dipping sauce as promised. No, I did NOT point it out to them, it is what it is. The "cucumber slaw" had little or no cucumber in it, and it wasn't all THAT. Besides, the radishes were sliced so thin as to have little flavor: but it LOOKED like alot of radish due to the round surface area. Only ten bucks but small portion. BTW, the chicken was good: it was breast, but not overcooked, which takes talent. But it is hard to screw up chicken. read more

Coming off a Qigong workshop at the club house we were famished. Mulligans has a great lunch menu of sandwiches, tacos, salads and more. I had a BBQ Chicken sando that was par excellence. A generous side salad and friendly staff. We were able to eat outside on the new lawn which has a beach view, swaying palm trees and a nice ocean breeze. Pretty much all we could ask for! read more
