A friend of mine scheduled a get-together at this restaurant located in the Phoebus area of Hampton…read morelast Friday. It's high-end, which I barely touch due to pricing, but it does not hurt to try something new. Let's see how the evening went. After our entire party arrived, we were all promptly seated. Inside, the decor is perfect. From the bar to the dining area, everything was spotless. You can tell the staff really cares about keeping the place tidy. And they had New Orleans-style music playing through the sound system. Very relaxing. After looking through the menu, I was ready to place my order. I chose their fish special, which was salmon with veggies and a sauce (forgot the name). This dish was very good. It was probably the best cooked salmon I've ever had. When you see seafood with the perfect crust and a lot of flavor, you're in heaven. It did have a small bone and I felt it lacked the amount of squash and zucchini, but again, a wonderful meal. There was one situation which resulted in only a 4-star review. Out of curiousity, I saw on Facebook that they offered $5 discounts. I did let my party know and we were all ready to use them when the bill was ready. But the staff told us the discount was to be used on a table rather than an individual ticket. When we looked both on Facebook and our personal emails, none of that verbage was mentioned. Not trying to sound harsh, but please be sure to state every detail foe customers. We do want to find ways to save some cash out of our wallets. Except for the discount mishap, the visit turned out well. I can say I'll be back to give them anothee go-around. Till next time :)

A Hidden Gem in Hampton - Mill Creek Tavern Delivers Every Time!…read more Mill Creek Tavern is one of those amazing local spots that makes you feel like you're in on a best-kept secret. No frills, no fluff -- just great food, cold beer, and genuinely friendly service. The vibe is relaxed and welcoming, with one pool table, a few big TVs for the game, and a small bar top that gives it that classic neighborhood feel. On our most recent visit, my friend and I both went with the special: country fried steak with okra and lima beans -- absolutely delicious. You can mix and match sides, and my friend's pasta salad was clearly homemade, perfectly balanced and not drowning in mayo. The beer was ice cold, and the food came out fast. Service was excellent -- friendly, efficient, and we had multiple check-ins throughout the meal without ever feeling rushed. Their burger menu is another highlight (I've had a few over the years -- always solid), and the back patio is a great touch. Covered seating with umbrellas makes it easy to enjoy rain or shine. Parking is a bit limited, but there's usually space around back near the patio if you loop around the building. Sure, walking in might feel a little intimidating if you're not a regular -- it's a cozy, no-nonsense spot -- but inside, it's as friendly and down-to-earth as it gets. Don't miss out on this local treasure. Go once, and you'll see why so many keep coming back!

Went to go watch the Super Bowl and the halftime show and have a good time, drink a beer…read more just for the second the halftime show comes on to switch to the Alternative broadcast? Several bar patrons besides also asked the lady or stated out loud where is the halftime show? She stated she didn't want anything to be political and wanted music but switched to a channel where some anchor is talking about a Twitter post some politician made whilst muting the other stream. Going right to the channel she wanted to watch and cranking up the volume up on it. when asked about it directly she replied if you don't like it you can turn the other way and not watch it. She kept repeating I just want to watch and listen to music, while I'm asking her why the commercials of the super bowl are muted? And we are are watching some suit and tie talk politics. She then said they way I see it we are "all American" , okay? No one was challenging that or anything ..kind of ironic that's the name of the show she put on "to not be political" Please know this is a real, I couldn't fathom in my mind someone being this insensitive and dull when people are actively asking and complaining

I really hope this was a one‑time issue, because on November 17, 2025, I visited Baked Bistro --…read morearriving about 12 minutes before closing. When I pulled up, the "Open" sign was still out front. I got out of my car and walked to the building, only to see a staff member rush outside and remove the "Open" sign. By the time I reached the door -- still 10 minutes before closing -- the door was already locked. Inside, an employee looked my way but didn't approach me or offer an explanation. If a business advertises that it's open until 3:00PM, a customer arriving before that time reasonably expects to be served. What I experienced felt like a disregard for my time and expectations. I left disappointed -- if Baked Bistro wants to keep my business, I hope they better honor their posted hours in the future.

Another Yelp Reviewer's suggestion for the win!…read more I happened to be in the area today, and after my first stops, I needed something to eat. Again, thanks to other Yelpers, I found this place. I'm so glad we found it. This place does have a small private parking lot, which is a good thing for the area. The interior was nice, large, and seemed very clean. Plenty of seats inside and a few tables outside. The fella who served us was very nice, pleasant, and took care of us. Now let's get to our meals: Holy mud were they good. The wifey had The Jim Boy. Which is a couple of eggs, a couple of sides, potatoes, and toast. She tells me the whole meal was very good with the potatoes being the flavorful standout. As for me, I had The Lumberjack. Wow was it good. It was smashbrowns topped with 3 eggs your way, fried chicken breast, sausage gravy, and a buttermilk biscuit on the side. Their website pictures were different from how it was presented to me today (not that it means a thing). Again what a wonderful flavor. The biscuits were great and the sausage gravy was fantastic! I will say this it is a very filling meal - you will not be hungry after eating this. So with all this said, I highly recommend this place and I'm sure I will be back. I might even try to hit it for lunch next time. So if you're looking for a place - go ahead and enjoy this place.

We made a reservation for 6pm, it wasn't busy then. We sat at the bar first because we were a bit early. Once we got our table we started with the crab dip , it was easily the best I've had. For entrees I ordered the crab cake and he ordered the seafood pasta. He mentioned the sauce could use some wine and lemon everything was cooked perfectly. The crab cake was fried perfectly and not just fillers, actually crab meat. My drink was yummy. I ordered the Gold Rush- highly recommend. He had whisky. The ambiance is very unique. I would say upscale casual. They have a full bar and lounge area. I think this place would be great for an event or party. It has been a while since I was fully satisfied with every aspect. You have to try it.
