Every dish I tried felt carefully prepared, with flavors that were balanced and satisfying. The salads were crisp and vibrant, and the entrees were hearty without being heavy. Overall, Farmer's Table delivers consistently excellent food and a welcoming dining experience. It's a place I'll gladly return to and recommend to anyone looking for a fresh, quality meal.

In good weather their outdoor patio looks like a great place to sit down and enjoy your All American burgers, fries and shakes. In colder seasons their indoor facilities are countrified and comfortable for those purists who choose to eat on premises to have their food right off the grill or deep fryer when they are at the peak of flavor. Apparently, their ice cream and soft serve are also noteworthy. I did takeout, and thought something was lost in the time it took to get home. The cheeseburger was still hot, juicy and delicious, but the fries had lost their crispness and were over salted. Similarly, my vanilla soft serve had partially melted and separated into a sweet cool slurry and a still composed core that had much less of the expected taste. Definitely eat right there to maintain maximum enjoyment. Service was friendly and welcoming with beautiful smiles all around. Four Farm to Table Stars, but be sure to eat right there for the full experience.

I've never seen such a fun menu before my mom and I both ordered the honey butter buzz chicken sandwich. I also got a side of waffle fries. My mom ordered the triple chocolate shake. They were out of the chocolate so she got a strawberry. That made her a little sad but the strawberry shake was delicious so she was OK. They gave you a lot of fries so I tried to split them with my mom, but she didn't like them. They weren't very hot and they had heavy seasoning on a few and the rest were kind of bland. The sandwiches were a little spicy. And we were supposed to get no spice, but I think they put spice on it anyway mine was just a little spicy. My mom's was more spicy, but that might be because she doesn't like any spice at all. Overall, ambience was good. No complaints at all. I felt very comfortable there. And I lied to my sandwich. Will definitely go back and we'll try something different and hopefully they have the triple thick chocolate shakes next time.

Smitty's has been around for a minute, specializing in traditional fast food: burgers, fries, hot dogs, onion rings, etc. The ambiance reminded me of those 50's style drive up food places where a waitress on roller skates would bring your food out on a tray and hook it on your car window for you to enjoy on the lot! We pulled into the lot and we saw folks eating in their cars. I got out to go in to place an order when I saw a sign on the door that said "staff only" and realized that you stay IN your car the the wait staff will come to your car to take your order! We were greeted by a pleasant young lady and she took our order: double cheeseburger with fries and a side order of battered onion rings. After taking our order, she placed a pink tag on our windshield. Our order was done in no time. When the young lady brought it to us, we paid her then. She had a traditional metal change dispenser on her waist too! The burger was SO good: the bun was fresh, the burger good with melted cheese and fried onions. The fries were crispy and fresh. The battered onion rings were SO good: whole onion slices surrounded in a nice crispy, non-greasy batter. All in all, I'm so glad we finally stopped by Smitty's. It has definitely made it to our go to list of food places to visit while in the area.

I can make a better burger in my oven at home than this was, and the sweet potato fries were okay for sure, but nothing spectacular. Delivery took a while too for some reason. I don't know that I'll revisit this place, but it was average overall for sure.

I added a side of "Smashfries" (cheese & bacon covered fries). My wife got the "Smashtots" (cheese & bacon covered tatertots). My grandson ordered the Double Truffle Mushroom Smashburger. Though it took a bit of time for our order to arrive (from what we saw, they have a hugh takeout business), it finally came out -- so hot we almost could not eat it. The Brisket Bacon Smash was enormous and incredibly favorable - a bit messy with BBQ sauce ah dripping. My grandson's Mushroom Smash was significantly smaller than ours - almost like a mini-burger - but he said it was also hot, favorable and delicious. Both the Smashtots and Smashfries truly justified the term, "loaded", being covered in bacon and almost swimming in delicious melted cheese (not the typical Cheez-Wiz dip). They have a unique selection of fountain drinks (Dragon Juice, etc.) which were not quite as good as they sounded, so I wound up sticking to the standard soda. The cost is not exorbitant but Smashburger is not cheap. Their burgers cost $10-$14, but the amount of food you get makes it feel worth the price. I compare that to another premium burger joint like Five Guys which has a similar cost for their burgers, but the value just does not feel be the same, which is why I stopped going to Five Guys. The ONLY negative about the entire visit, was that one of the persons waiting on us had dreadlocks literally down to her knees. Hair like that in a restaurant environment is always less than desirable. But it appeared well kept and so was a relatively minor issue. All in all, Smashburger is was a delightful new restaurant discovery; one which I hope to visit often.

They have a pretty extensive menu for a burger joint, with nine Valhallas (stuffed burgers), almost 2 dozen signature sandwiches (think patty melts), several regular burgers, hotdogs, and several sides including onion rings (they were out today), tots, several iterations of fries, and nachos. I ordered the Jana - a Valhalla stuffed with Swiss and Muenster cheeses and mushrooms, topped with a fried egg and "Viking Sauce," a sort of chili or meat sauce that seems to be made from turkey. It's huge- I practically had to unhinge my jaw like the Midgard Serpent to bite it! This is a $15 burger and it is well worth it. Understand that when they say "stuffed burger," it's basically two burgers with the stuffing squashed between them on a nice, big bun. I may not need to eat again today. My Bride got the Frigga sandwich - a beef patty with bacon, caramelized onion, Gouda cheese and grilled pineapple tidbits. At $11.50, it's reasonably priced, and must have been good- she wolfed it down like it was Tyr's hand. We opted for combos so we both got tater tots crispy enough to do ASMR videos with and drinks- they have both fountain and bottled drinks available. We had one of each. With Newport News' exorbitant meals tax, lunch came to $46 before tip. I'm not even mad about it- it was worth every penny. An excellent meal with some great customer service. I'm not likely to make the hour drive just to eat here, but I will certainly be back anytime I'm in town already and need to slay my hunger Viking style!

The little mall that this place is in looks run down and I was wondering if my car was going to get broken into while it was parked there. But once you get inside this place has some interesting vibes and tons of fun decorations. I got the California burrito with a Mexican Coke and highly recommend! It is a 14 inch burrito that you can hold in your hand with guac, shredded Monterey Jack, carne asada steak, crispy fries with cotija cheese. There was a big group of people (maybe 10-12) in there when we arrived that was eating up a lot of the attention of the one waiter. Also, we had a long wait for food because they actually ran out of steak that was prepped and so they had to prep more and grill it up for the burrito. My friend got the OG burrito which he thought was good, but was a little soggy from the juice from the chicken. Even with everything, I would still recommend this place, and their California burrito was amazing.

They have a $5 before 5 app and drink special menu that is a really good deal. Nice spot for adults to have some drinks. Just be patient as service is generally slow. Now onto my recent experience.... I suggested it to some friends who wanted to grab some beers on MLK day which was a Monday. There were 4 of us guys and 7 kids. It's a lot. I get it. They weren't overly busy. Maybe a quarter full. I tried to keep the kids away from other tables by giving them boundaries. They were not happy with us. They didn't like the kids being outside in their patio (freezing, no one out there) etc. The one server was getting destroyed. She had just like 6 tables, but a 16 top. I felt badly for her. Our drinks correspondingly took about 20-30 minutes each time we tried to order. She was nice when she could get to us. At one point a person who said they were a manager, I think she said her name was Hannah, came over and said the kids couldn't be going around (again, I had boundaries not by any other patrons etc. from what I could see they were honoring them, but who knows), anyway she asked if we could keep them by us, which is fine. I then asked her if I could put in a beer and app order as I had been waiting for our server with an empty beer for at least 20 minutes. Instead of taking the order and ringing it in, she said she'd send the server over and disappeared never to be seen again. 5 minutes Iater the server was able to get free from her big table and get our beer orders and food in. Several items were forgot, but at this point we were kind of over it. Just not really your typical relaxed brewery vibe. Felt like they wanted it to be more of a sit down restaurant. That big long story to say it's not a spot for kids. Overall food and drinks are solid. Beer is solidly middle of the pack for Peninsula. Management needs some work.
