I was surprised by how few people there were for NCAA football championship game, but had a great time and really good food

Came in at 1:30am on one of the biggest bar weekends of the year -- Final Four in town -- just looking for a beer before last call. Not food, not a full night out, just a drink. We were turned away at the door with 30 minutes still on the clock. I get it, kitchens close early. But the bar? Turning away customers who just want a beer 30 minutes before you close is flat-out bad business, especially on a weekend when the entire city is packed with people looking to spend money. We walked out and gave our money to someone else without a second thought. No issues with the concept or the space, but if you can't pour a beer at 1:30am, don't advertise a 2am close. We held our class reunion here!! They were very accommodating for the amount of people! The price was very affordable to where we were able to drop our ticket prices!! Not only did we have ample indoor outdoor venue space but they also provided the food & the cash bar! It was perfect and very convenient! They provided the tables and all! We only had to bring chair covers and our decor! They allowed for a 360 booth and DJ! Everything went well! The bartender did not disappoint! I highly recommend Mucky Duck for your event! read more

This place is the definition of overhyped. The food is laughably bad, the staff acts like they're doing you a favor by letting you in, and the overall vibe is just off. Want a dry, flavorless chicken slider that makes gas station food seem gourmet? They've got you covered. Enjoy getting yelled at by bartenders who seem personally offended that people want drinks? You're in luck. Love arbitrary, inconsistently enforced rules that make no sense? This is definitely your spot. Between the weirdly aggressive last-call routine, the bizarre dress code enforcement, and the general feeling that they don't actually want customers, I can't imagine why anyone would come here twice. We went to this dive bar today to relax, have a couple of drinks. When we tried to enter, I was stopped by the bouncer. He stated that he couldn't let me in because I was wearing shorts "without belt loops." Huh? He then asked us if we could go back to our hotel (I'm local, been going there for years) and change my athletic shorts into khakis. Again, huh??? Can they offer one, single, reasonable explanation as to why my shorts have to have belt loops? This isn't some country club or private club. It is a place where someone got fatally shot a few days ago. So, my gym shorts are a security issue? If everyone dresses in khakis, that means they all get along? Huh? Mucky Duck is a mix between your small town local watering hole and a coastal Florida bar on the beach. The 700-person capacity patio overlooks a huge pond that can provide some killer sunsets reflected over the horizon. The bar itself is massive with a huge dining/bar room, multiple patio sections, and a large game room with tons of arcade/sports games. On weekends they have an amazing DJ Jay Smilez who kills it and sets the vibe! The tiki bar on the patio is the most fun bar to meet others at :) everyone is friendly/chatty. Service is mediocre - staff can get quite busy and overwhelmed. The menu is pretty large with good classic midwestern bar options. Great food a few beers after work with coworkers! read more

This is a nice bar located on the outskirts of Greenwood. It is open late and known for its patio, which overlooks a little lake. The staff there is very friendly and nice. I will admit that I was very disappointed when I went to order food and was told that they did not have half of the items on the menu, and that was only after I ordered one of the removed items. I ended up just getting a burger which was ok. It did its job, filled my belly. The bar is huge. In addition to the outdoor patio, which has a bar, there is an indoor dining area that also has a full bar. I really like the pubs vibe and atmosphere. On weekends the place turns up. They have a DJ playing some of the hottest hits. They have an adequate private parking lot but on weekends and during special events, it may be full. I had to park way down the street from the bar. This is a nice place to kick back and relax, grab a quick bite and savory drink. I enjoyed my time here and I am almost positive that you will too. read more

This bar has so much potential to be awesome, but it's a shit hole. On the weekdays, it's pretty quiet and chill. On the weekends, it's a trashy crowd with lots of fights and riddled with drugs. Some of the bartenders are great, but a majority of them aren't. Their beer draft system sucks, so if you're a beer drinker I'd stick to bottles there. The restrooms (at least men's) are absolutely disgusting, there are two of them. One has no doors and the other door it about to fall off. Food menu is pretty decent, but nothing to write home about. I was a regular for a long time, but I don't go here anymore unless I get dragged along by my friends. read more

My husband and I frequent Mucky Duck because we love the patio and tasty bar food. Our daughter and her husband and two sons one 23 years old and one 20 years old are visiting us from England. We visited Mucky Duck today around noon. The waitress took our drink orders and gave us menus. Our grandsons ordered soft drinks.The waitress asked our 20 year old grandson if he was 21 years old. He replied that he was 20. The waitress then kicked us out of the establishment saying that it was illegal for under 21 year olds to patronize the Mucky Duck patio. Disappointed and embarrassed, we left and went to another nearby establishment. I know Indiana alcohol laws and it IS legal for my 20 year old grandson to sit and eat at the Mucky Duck patio. We were unjustly treated and would appreciate an apology and appeasement. read more

This is the ABSOLUTE BEST patio to have a beverage on the south side of Indianapolis!!!!! The patio is huge, it over looks a pond and have yard games such as corn hole. Great music. The food I would give a 3 star rating. Traditional bar food. Nothing fancy. read more

if you want to be treated as a criminal then this is the bar for you. They started doing sirens and rude announcements just after 2, by 2:45 (normal last call) they were being down right militant. I've never been treated so rudely at a bar ever. I will likely not be spendingy money here any longer. They need to have three bartenders outside on weekends to stop the hissyfits from a bartender. if there is not adeq service of course humans get frustrated. If you stop serving at 3 then 3:15 to 3:20 is reasonable to kick people out. if you want to stop serving sooner then reflect that in your hours and message. read more

Went there with my wife and my two friends. They didn't let my friend in because she was wearing sweatpants and they refused to let me in because I had a white t shirt. The "dress code" that they claim to have is in my opinion primarily targeted towards African-American dress style: no chains, no sweatpants, no baggy pants, no jewelry.... I though I was walking into a dive bar not a exclusive club. Felt super discriminated and 100% will not be coming back. To add on top of that, when I went to a different bar, multiple people claimed to have been drugged over there, so that is a NO FOR ME. Avoid going there!!! read more

Lame. They advertised an 80s throwback outfit contest for NYE 2021, but only a handful of people showed, and the waitresses had no info on the contest. I was at your establishment last night, when me and my wife walked in we made it halfway through the bar before we was asked for our ID, then they check me for weapons and not my wife. I was then asked to tuck in my cross chain necklace is a simple, necklace. I refused and walked away. It took us 20 minutes or more to get a drink the waitress was very rude. The staff was snobby, and rude, the music was boring and repetitive, I was then again asked to tuck in my necklace again when I asked why they said it would be offensive to someone or considered gang attire. I will not be back to this establishment and will be passing on this information to everyone. read more

Extremely poor rules, and enforcement of the rules. I've been to the bar multiple times wearing both shorts with and without belt loops, I've never had anything said to me. I try to go in with a group of friends, and I'm stopped and shown a list of rules that says no basketball shorts. I'm not wearing basketball shorts just casual shorts. I went to this place the weekend after my 21st birthday, because it's local and we didn't want to go all the way downtown. Yet, when we got there we were greeted by a very rude bouncer who wasn't dressed accordingly. He asked for our ids, we show him them no problem and right before letting us in he made us pull our shirts up and show him our belts loops. Still dont have my money back from the forged signatures. The GM even said on a recorded line that none of the signatures matched as he gave me copies of the receipts.. pushed them through anyway. So, I was reading the other reviews, and I'm asking myself, was I at the same bar? Ok, so maybe I was just in my own happy little world, and that could be why I had so much fun here. I mean, c'mon, the weather was just right for a night on the patio, and the atmosphere outside was festive, pleasant and quiet around the edges, and toward the bar a bit more lively. It did take a minute to get our drinks at the table, but I think we were a bit impatient. But, the Long Islands and Beaches were good enough to wait a hot second. They had a small huddle around the bar inside so it took the bartender a bit to have the music for the TouchTunes turned up in the game room. So, past the people playing bags outside, we walked into what I was told used to be a dance floor (or it is when there is live music, I'm guessing). They have darts, pool, a life-size connect four game, a pinball machine, and a couple of skee- ball machines. So, we DJ'd from the app on my phone and played to our hearts' content. It was a good time and just enough people there to feel like it a night out (especially for a Tuesday), but not so many that you didn't have access to whatever area you wanted to sit, play, or hang in. I liked it. However, as I said, I didn't pay much attention to the bar cleanliness or bathroom "atmosphere"; I think I just was so content with the extra stuff not usually in a bar. Next time I'll look and update :) For now it gets a happy 4 stars from this experience. read more

There is a serious lack of outdoor dining, drinking, and partying on the south side. The Mucky Duck is quickly filling the void with their awesome outdoor bar and patio. Friendly staff and ownership keep the drinks full and the patrons happy. As far as bar pizza goes, I think theirs is pretty good. Others I know like the tenderloin. I had to take off a star for the lack of real drink specials. I don't expect much on weekends, but on a Tuesday or Wednesday night, I hate to pay $3 for a beer. Throw me a bone with $5-$6 pitchers one night during the week and I'll be happy. read more

This place was a wonderful surprise. It is situated within very easy walking distance of a few hotels. You get a couple of stars from me after a long day of driving just for that!! Just seemed like any other pub when we walked in. There was a heated addition on the back for a smoking bar, non smoking in the main room. 2 pool tables and about 8 tv's. Not too many choices on tap, but the local beer they had was good. We ate our pizza (which was also yummy, I posted a pic of it--what was left of it anyway, when I got the idea to snap a yelp pic) and drank a couple beers, played two games of pool and started to head out. One of us needed to go to restroom before we WALKED back to the hotel (notice how I mentioned that again?!). This is where it gets interesting... Off to the side of the restroom hallway there happens to be a nightclub, complete with dance floor, DJ, separate bar and cool lights. They played a mix of good dance music. Not too much techno, and I promise I would tell you if they did-yuck!-but they didn't so I will move on. We had noticed security guys throughout the pub, but just a assumed it was a hotel bar so you may have lots of random things happen. But they don't, those securities guys however do not put up with a lot and many people who were not allowing others to enjoy the evening were led out. No smoking, no lap dances, no drinks on the dance floor, no creepy dudes that just stare at young women, no fighting. Just have a good time or go...pretty simple! Seems like it was a very popular local spot and we met lots of awesome people and had a great time. Definitely turned into a longer night than I expected or intended, but it was fun and a wonderful surprise. (And its within walking distance of the hotel we stayed at!) read more
