Since my reviews on google keep getting deleted by the employees that work here, highly suggest just not even bothering coming here. The blonde "bartender" if you can call her that, has the worst attitude and wants to flirt with men all night instead of do her job. I witnessed her argue with my friend about not having her card, which... she did, and lost it. Then proceeded to threaten to beat my ass while unnecessarily having the bouncers walk (sober) me out, all because I said Her customer service could be better. I will say, the bouncers and the rest of the staff are decent; they told me said person has been a problem for a while now so hopefully she can be removed and the bar can MAYBE redeem itself. Until then; I'd stay away to prevent getting assaulted. Everyone I know has a bad story about this place. read more

Food is great but certain bouncers there treat people with so much disrespect. I've tried to talk to the manager but for what ever reason he is never available. I've been kicked out the bar because someone was drunk and came to my table to argue about us looking that direction. Bar tender told him to leave us alone and they still came back so we left. Bouncers stood there and didn't care about the guy because he was a daily drinker there with lots of friends. This last time my girlfriend got kicked out because she was leaning over the edge and the bouncers assumed she was throwing up which was understandable is she was but she looked back and said she was just looking at the lake and they kept saying she was throwing up. She had no alcohol in her system and was my DD but about 5 bouncers came up to us and as soon as the bouncers came up to us a guy named Michael started saying "GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE OR I WILL HAVE YOU ARRESTED FOR TRESPASSING" another Hispanic male next to us said something like woah why you yelling at them they are just letting you know she's not drunk no need to profile them like that. He quickly shouted to him telling him to get the fuck up and he's also getting kicked out. He then proceed to call the cop over because we COULDN'T leave. Even if you wanted to we COULDN'T we were cornered in by all the bouncers the cop was professional he came up and moved the guy Michael out the way for us to finally walk out. The guy Michael was so childish he proceeded to insult us on the way out a couple of people were saying that not right and he told them to leave on the way out too. One guy wanted to help us get out because the bouncers was cussing at us still and he just wanted to make sure we made it out okay but as soon as he helped us he was kicked out and pushed by another bouncer. The bouncer was making the situation worse. I myself am in the army NG and work for the homeland security I have never been to a place that had workers that escalated a situation. Anywhere that allows public entry should set their workers to the level they deserve to be treated. This is no place for me to ever return I hate to say this but i wish the worse for this place if they don't watch who they hire. read more

Went to the Mucky Duck this evening, the inside was empty except some seating at the bar. Several people out back on the patio. A girl brought over a basket of French fries, didn't say anything as she dropped them off. Sat for 15 minutes never saw a waitress for drink order, menus, etc. We live on the Southside and were looking for a bar to frequent, this definitely wasn't it, very disappointing read more

I am very disappointed in the way our party was treated at the end of the evening tonight. We brought a large party of 20+ people after a wedding this evening and spent several hours at Mucky Ducks, and we also spent several hundred dollars on food and drinks. We treated the staff kindly and tipped them well. About 3 minutes before closing, when only about 10 of us were left, the groom was served 7 shots at the inside bar, but not given any way to transport them to the party on the patio. And then he almost immediately was not permitted to head out toward the patio. So he waited with the shots at the bar, until our party was being shoved toward the door by the "security" staff. And then because the folks in our party stopped to take their shots, the head of "security", a white guy in a striped sweater, repeatedly threatened that he was going to get the cop sitting outside. And then proceeded to go to the cop's car. I'm am an adult woman, 34 years old. I'm a classy professional type. I was in a floor-length dress, and my friend - the bride - was wearing her veil. There was no question that our party was not some group of troublemakers. And I can say with certainty that no one has ever put their hands on me inside a bar until tonight. I was later told that it was because your bar can lose your liquor license if anyone is found to be inside the bar past 3:00. But I actually am aware of the liquor licensing laws because I used to serve. So I want to suggest that you brush your staff up on the liquor laws in our state, and also that you help them with customer service techniques and when not to put their hands on patrons. There was literally only one security person who kept a level head and was respectful...and there were two men put their hands on me personally. When my friend, the bride, asked to speak to the manager, a black man in a black t-shirt said he was the manager and then slammed and locked the door in her face. I've honestly never seen staff at any establishment treat their guests so poorly. I was threatened by the "head of security" as he was getting in his girlfriend's car that I wasn't allowed back in the bar - not because I have actually done anything wrong at this point, of course, but simply because he seems to want to feel superior for some reason. So I want to ensure you that his threat will be a promise kept by me. And I would also discourage other folks from planning a group function at this bar for sure, at a minimum until further training can be provided to the staff. I have attached a copy of the liquor laws from the state website to make it easier for you to reference with your staff. It is my understanding from speaking to your staff that you are working to improve the class of guests that visit your establishment, so I hope that you will take these comments seriously. I also would suggest that treating the exact level of clients that you hope to attract as if they were trash is not a good way to maintain any level of decent patrons. When a group made up of primarily local business owners, but also high-level management and military are manhandled and treated poorly, you can rest assured that we will take our hard-earned money elsewhere in the future. read more

If you are looking for a meal, this is not the place unless you want okay pizza. I was the DD so can't speak to the drinks because I ordered iced tea (at 6 pm on a Sat night) and they didn't have any brewed, so I had water. Fish and chips - fish was grossly over fried and dry. Garlic butter shrimp are just that - served on a bed of raw cabbage. I would avoid the burger. The patio is a really nice space for good weather days and is dog friendly. Nearby table ordered wings and those looked a lot better than any of the food ordered by the members of our group. read more

Bathrooms are absolutely disgusting, and no one from management to even the owner care. Reason being you might ask? Maybe because Security is designed to protect the patrons and business, not janitorial duties (including cleaning up vomit). No wonder they can't keep security, and are always begging for help. Holy Sh!t what a train wreck of a bar/restaurant. Co-worker and myself went there for afternoon drinks. We were staying in a hotel next door so we figured what the heck. To put this in context, I LOVE me a dive bar! love a good juke box, cheap beer and fried anything. This place is a whole other level of a sh!t show. We were there on 19 Jul 16 around 4pm. There was no one ANYWHERE to take our order. Once a meth'ed out waitress came to take our order, I asked for an order of the pretzel bites and the pork loin sandwich. After about 20 minutes she returned with an order of cheese balls. When I asked her "are these the pretzel bites" she looked at me like I was crazy. Then she apologized and brought out the pretzel bites. We waited and waited and my sandwich NEVER materialized. By this time I had nothing else to do so I decided just to sit back and watch this train wreck unfold. We ordered another beer and waited on our next round. Then my co-worker's wine came out with FRUIT FLIES floating in it and I had to put on the brakes. Yes that's right, bugs were floating in her wine. We decided to ask for the check, My co-worker walked outside to ask the only bartender/waitress present to give us the check and she was told "isn't there anyone else inside who can do this for you." We answered no and asked for the check. I then informed the bartender of the fruit flies in the wine and asked her to take it off the bill. She said she would but when the bill arrived, she had charged me for a glass of wine with bugs in it. She finally took it off the bill when I complained again. Finally we got the bill. BTW, I never even got my sandwich that I ordered. It was MIA. I was actually thankful they did not charge me for it. Dear friends and lovers of the dive bar scene. Do NOT go to this place! Go across the street to another dive bar. If Darwinism applies to dive bar's this one will fade to natural selection. It is the collapsed lung on the body of dive bars. There is a difference between a run down looking place with great food and good service.. then there are places like this which is a DIRTY joint with obviously drug abusing wait staff, who could give a sh!t about you. If I owned this place, i could call Bar Rescue and fire everyone on staff. If you are the owner, reading this, you have a serious problem with your staff. Went here with mom's lodge dinner club and wasn't expecting much and the sticky floor reinforced that prejudice. However, everyone's food was very good. My fish & chips was served with homemade kettle chips rather than the traditional french fries (which could be had for $1 more). The kettle chips arrived totally unseasoned, but after adding some salt, pepper and malt vinegar, they were quite tasty. The fish was cooked well without too much breading. Mom's tenderloin was also quite good. Although the main room is rather spacious though spartan, this place has a huge outdoor seating area overlooking a pond. I had been here 15+ years ago when it was a moderately upscale restaurant. read more

This has quickly become our new hangout on Saturday nights. I heard about the place from a coworker and in glad we checked it out. The bar is a LOT bigger than it looks. There are actually three separate areas. First being the main inside bar. It's a traditional horseshoe and this seems to be where a lot of the regulars linger. There is a pool table and darts in this area as well as quite a few tables. The second bar is located in the club area. If you are drinking anything fancy don't order it here, as they may not have the ingredients. The club area is nice, especially if you like to dance. We have seen a few incidents here but security is right on it. Seriously, in both cases it was over before it began. The last bar is located outside on the patio. This is my favorite area. Like the inside it's also a large horseshoe bar with lots of stools. The deck is huge and it overlooks a lake. There is a huge Jenga game as well as corn hole if you need some entertainment. We always have a blast with the Jenga. We keep saying we're gonna try other places but we keep coming back here because we have such a good time. read more

Decided to stop by here on a weekend evening. The problem; I didn't realize that my good friend's dress was unacceptable by the standards here. He wore a pair of Levi's and a vneck shirt. The problem; it was all one color, so he wasn't allowed to enter. While I understand dress codes, this seemed a bit out there. it wasn't a regular, one color T-shirt which was cited. Neither of us looked trashy or trashed. Just a few guys out for a beer, probably stereotyping regular looking. I was wearing clothes I'd wear for a decent dinner with the lady, let alone a bar. Guessing the door man just had a stiff one that night. Im not going to gamble and show up again to be told my loafers or boots, glasses, or something aren't up to code, unbeknownst to me. read more

I hate to give this place a one star. I normally only go out of my way to write reviews or give feedback in general when I've had amazing service. If it's bad- I leave and never come back. But this place used to have a lot of flavor, a friend told me it's only good at night on the weekends anymore. I think that's very unfortunate. I visited yesterday around 3pm. Walked in and sat at the bar inside, waited 10-15 minutes and never saw the bartender- that's an extremely long time in my opinion. I'm really surprised the other 4 people sitting up there didn't just grab their own drinks because honestly they could have and no one would have noticed. So I headed outside, the patio was open and looked very welcoming. ANOTHER 10 minutes. This time I didn't get it- the bartender was up there, visible- just sort of wondering around. The bar was not busy at all. So, I'm a patient person and don't like to raise my hand to get peoples attention, especially when I'm clearly sitting up there in plain site. She finally looks over and walks over lazily. I order my drink and some Cheesy Fries. She seemed more concerned about a guy sitting up there, she was overly nice to him actually so if he's the bf I'd suggest they hang out after work? 20 minutes for the fries. I've worked in bars and restaurants my whole life so I'm not an idiot to how long it takes to make some Fries or build a drink (or what goes in each one)- the drink is another story entirely. I see my food sitting under the heat lamp from afar, I'm so hungry that I'm half tempted to go grab it myself. Finally after the 20 minutes were up she remembered the food and brought it over. The fries are somehow cold and the cheese is burnt, awesome- I'm so hungry and don't want to wait another 20 so I eat as much of it that I can (the edible looking bits). Another 20. My drinks been empty for I don't even know how long, the girl sitting across from me (who also seemed annoyed by service) had been sitting with an empty beer since I arrived. Yet the bf has been well taken care of- and a couple next to me as well. The lady had ordered a crown and coke and 2 bloody marys within the same hour. I get my check finally and practically run out of there. First of all- the customer should never have to ASK for their server or bartenders name. I don't even expect the repetitive "Hi my names so and so and here's the specials!"- You can just casually slip it into the conversation so I know who I need to ask for next time or just who's making my drinks. Her name was Ashley, by the way. 2nd- never judge a person by their appearance. I'm maybe a year or two older than this girl, and I know a lot of people think that the younger crowd doesn't tip great (perhaps that's why she was so reluctant to give any service) but I actually tip 20-30% as a rule anytime I go out. The bars and restaurants I frequent know this and so they treat me like a friend. I'm from this area, so if you take care of me I'll return and take care of you also. Suggestion: Treat everyone up at your bar like a friend and you'll make good tips. I'm not expecting a kidney, or your life story. Just be pleasant- it's not that hard. 3rd- Honestly I would have stayed longer, ordered more drinks, all around had a decent time and left happy. I was reluctant to leave Ashley with any tip because she seemed so burdened by having to take care of anyone except the bf. So will I be back? Yeah sure! But if I see Ashley bartending or serving- Nah, I'll take business somewhere where the staff can at least pretend they're happy. read more

I am writing this review of the patio, which is awesome; the club side, not-so-much. They have extended the patio, the busiest of the three sections:indoor bar,club, and patio. Definitely the best patio on the southside! The mucky duck has a lot of room to explore which is nice because it's usually packed! There is an inside bar with pool tables and karokee, a club side, and a giant patio out back. I cannot rave enough about the patio (great view of a pond too!). The drinks are quite cheap (especially when compared in Indy prices) and there are always several drink specials to choose from. The food is also great, the queso dip is legit amazing (get it with chips or bredsticks, neither will disappoint). As for the staff, they do well under pressure, it is generally quite packed and they work nonstop to give the best service they can. read more

We only saw her 4 times and each time I hd to ask for service. Atmosphere: 3/5 The only good thing about the night was the atmosphere. It has a really cool outdoor area. Drinks: 1/5 Beer special was good (but how can you mess up beer), but when it came to mixed drinks - way too watered down. Also they had a frozen drink special, it wasn't frozen at all. It was pure syrup. Really bad. Food: 3/5 Only had the Pub Nachos appetizer, but it was fantastic. I gave it a 3 because it took probably an hour to come out. Super slow. Clearly this place isn't popular for lunch, I wasn't even sure they were open with so few cars in the lot. Now I know why! I was craving a big restaurant burger so I stopped in for lunch. There was only one bartender which was all that was warranted with no more than 10 people in the restaurant. She was polite, & somewhat efficient. The burger was tiny, probably only about 4 oz while most restaurant burgers are 1/2 pound. And it was $8.50! They didn't have bleu cheese so I settled for swiss. Bun and chips were yummy, but not yummy enough to return here. Looks like a lot of overhead here to not want to capitalize on lunch, so much potential. read more

I'm a huge fan of this bar. I came here all the time before I moved away, and when I came home to visit this was the first place I came. All of the bartenders and rest of the staff are incredible. But, met a server named Jess that was hands down the most unprofessional server I've ever met. Told me she was training, and asked the regular I was spending time with to order her shots. She was wasted, all over everyone at the bar sloppy drunk, and told me to leave. The following night when I told her that as a bartender at a different bar that what she had done the night before was unprofessional, she said "good thing you'll never be my manager". It was disrespectful enough to catch me off guard. I love coming here every time I'm in town, but if this girl is going to continue to speak to people this way, I might stay away. Was there with a group of classmates for a high school reunion mixer. When we entered we noticed the sign on the door about the rules to enter, unprofessional looking and seems to show this could be a place with some issues. After entering and looking around for our group, went to the main bar and asked the bartender and about our group. He had no idea and was rude. Finally saw someone from our group. Someone from our group spoke to someone and they moved us to the game room, which was very dark with limited seating and every TV had the same game on. Had two different young bartenders working the limited bar and a waitress that seemed to be floating in between areas and too be honest if they weren't behind the bar would've mistaken them for customers. Thank God we had looked online the night before at the menu and decided to eat beforehand. Wait staff needs to be trained on how to handle food and beverages. Food isn't supposed to be touching your long sleeved sweatshirt or long hair. The bar wasn't manned in our area at times. Had to use the ladies room that was located in the game room, the smell of bleach was strong and nauseating, not to mention not something you want to stand in, there was a sign stating wet floor in the bathroom which obstructed the path and more than likely against fire code. Two sinks, not side by side or even a countertop to place your purse so you could wash your hands properly. Only one dispenser had soap and it was located at the sink that was like walking down a short narrow like hallway. Graffiti on the stall walls. The music kept being turned up loud, so at times trying to have a conversation was like being at a concert sitting next to the speakers. Other customer came into the area, not an issue but a young lady had apparently already been served enough alcohol as she was deaf and was screaming at the bartender, who seemed to know her and the two men with her and was laughing at her behavior and language. It seems that this place is geared for those under 30. Needless to say, I wasn't impressed with Mucky Duck's. I'd suggest some sort of t-shirts for the staff, training on food and beverage handling and serving, some pod lighting, bathroom makeovers after a plumber is called to find out why bleach had to be standing in the floor and the knobs to the stereo confiscated by management, if there is any... read more

Security at the front door aren't the sharpest individuals at all... first 2 times had no problems running to my car, third time they hassled me outside the door about not having a mask (keep in mind 100% of people inside had zero masks on while walking around, have photos... but all the sudden wants to make a stink about a pocket knife I had that they didn't catch the TWO PREVIOUS TIMES... real top flight security here, not to mention after telling a friend, he had his pocket knife right with him.... (pants pocket clip version) more like trash they hired off the street for the night.... would be embarrassed as a business owner. Hey free money for them to stand around doing nothing pretty much (since obviously they didn't catch it the first TWO times or my buddies) congrats to them...will not be going again read more

I walked with my partner and dog to the large deck for dinner at 6:25pm on a Monday. There were two other couples on the deck and about 8 regulars at the bar. Despite the waitress seeing us walk in with a dog and sit at a table she went inside. Ok, no problem. She then came out and refilled a table's drinks and then went inside. Ok, hmm, no problem. She came out and bussed a dirty table that had been dirty since we arrived and then went back in. Ok, now we may have a problem. She came out to the bar area and then went back inside. Apparently, the large deck is too large and she can't come over and at least introduce herself and say she's busy. I'd say she couldn't see us becuase the deck was so large but others saw us and our dog, so I'm at a loss. (the deck is such a big thing on the facebook) It's now 6:40 p.m. A trivia company has on their website that they are doing trivia at Mucky Duck on Monday's. Before we left I called Mucky Duck and they said they don't do trivia anymore so that was already dissapointing but to have still gone and be treated with such disregard and to not be acknowledged was even more of a disspointment. Must take years to be a regular here since it takes such a long time for anyone to even notice you. Hope it was just a bad evening for the server but we won't know since, sadly as it was so close and looked cool, we'll not be back. Not that they would notice. read more

A few of my friends share an apartment in Southport, just over a mile to Mucky Duck. This place quickly rose on our favorites list, but mostly because of its location. Inside offers pool tables, dart boards, a large walk up bar and plenty of tables. The best part is outside - a huge deck, bar and scattered tables overlook the large pond in the neighborhood. I don't know when or if they offer drink specials, but on my last visit our group of 10 or so was given several free "tastes" by some distributer. The drinks are moderately priced, though I have found better deals in similar venues. I have had the quesadillas and a burger as well as some other things. The food is nothing to write home about, but definitely preferable to any fast food and comparable to most bars you might go to for dinner or lunch. I am sure that I have not had my last trip to this establishment. In short, If I weren't already in Southport, I wouldn't make the trip just for this place. read more

Very conveniently located adjacent to several hotels. Went in for a nitecap on a Thursday night. The bartender named Corey was very cool and friendly. He was very thorough in explaining the drink specials to me. The 2.50 domestic pints he mentioned caught my attention. But I opted instead to try a couple of craft beers that are not available in my area. Both were really good and I was glad that I tried them. That was until I cashed out. My total was 13.50.
