You can "shop around" the Raleigh/Cary area as I did and you will NOT find a more hardworking, committed, professional contracting business. They did their best to work within our budget while also offering good advice and suggestions about our design choices. (And they don't charge extra "consulting fees" for that part of the service as so many others do.) We were thrilled with the results and particularly love our new kitchen and master bath. We had given DHD a deadline to meet because of a large party we were hosting. One of the final steps was finishing the wet bar. When the installers were placing the granite countertop (about 2 days before my company arrived), it broke. Luisa (co-owner) immediately went on a mission to find a suitable replacement. She came through and was able to get the new granite installed the very next day. When the kitchen tile was laid, Jesus (co-owner) found areas he was not pleased with and immediately had it ripped out and redone so that it was right. Luisa and Jesus care about the quality of work that their subcontractors do and will personally do whatever they can to make sure that everything is up to their standards--including working late nights and weekends if necessary. Their follow-up is exemplary and they have been quick to respond any time we've had an issue that had to be addressed. Jesus does a lot of the work personally and his strong work ethic shows in everything he does. Although English is not his first language, he is quite fluent, listens well, and communicates easily. Luisa is a talented designer and consummate professional who truly cares about her business, her clients and the ultimate satisfaction with their projects. We were extremely pleased with our experience with DHD and would definitely use them again.

Unfortunately the same cannot be said of the office staff coordinating the project. We were shown one piece of stone for our countertop which we rejected and removed the countertop from their scope of work. It took nearly 6 months for the proper window to be installed.

I was honest and told the associate I needed time to just look and wrap my head around all the choices. She laughed and let us be, letting us know to let them know when and if we needed help. We walked around some thinking of the spaces that needed new tile and what kind of look we wanted. I was overwhelmed with the choices. Finally Leland came over to us and asked if we needed some help. At this point, I did. We told him the things we were doing and the thoughts I had. He was easy to work with, quick to pick up my yes and no's. But at the same time he could explain why certain choices would not work. He did not make me feel silly for designs I had in mind but pointed out whether I wanted a trend or something to last style wise. We left with several samples and when we took the samples to put against our cabinets and countertops...his top choices were all correct. We returned the samples a few days later and he nodded knowingly. Our contractor recommended Best Tile and we are glad he did.
