No time wasted Excellent installation; we are so pleased No mess and left the place in its original condition; Left is so neat and tidy No damages anywhere whatsoever Finished the job well within time - in just one day (we were told it could take up to 2 days) Quality of work is outstanding; Well worth the money! They are so proficient and provided excellent service. A pleasure dealing with them. They are top notch! So proud they are local . I was very impressed with the flooring. The work was great, I am beyond ecstatic with the finished product. They are family-owned and the issues we had at the beginning of installation day were addressed quickly. I would have no issues telling anyone about the quality of the workmanship, and the professionalism of their installers. read more

Extremely friendly. Appreciated all his knowledge on carpet padding and usage of the product.

Highly recommend A1 Floors. We had an old stair runner that was fraying, and needed to be replaced. We chose a high quality carpet to through the samples A1 provided, paid a deposit, and within a week they removed the old carpet, and had the new carpet installed professionally. read more

A1 Floors - Carpet on stairs - Flooring Near Me - Raleigh, North Carolina

We used A1Floors a couple of years ago to put in luxury vinyl plank floors after an insurance claim. John came out to quote and he is very personable and knowledgeable about flooring. He was able to get us a really good deal that would be hard to find else where. We naturally chose A1Floors again when we had to replace carpet before putting our home on the market recently. John was there again to help us pick something nice out within our budget and install on a precise time schedule. I can definitely say that everyone we dealt with, from the owner, to Heather in the office, to Craig the Installation Manager, is so professional and they are all willing to make you a truly satisfied customer. Their communication and follow through is second to none. read more

I know this is a family run business which is why I hate to write a bad review. The owners were very friendly and knowledgeable. The person who came out babbled for half an hour before he got to measuring. We want to have almost our whole house redone, about 2400 sq ft., so a large project. He didn't have a sample we specifically requested be brought to the appointment. That was the first strike. After I received the quote, I emailed twice asking for additional quotes as we chose a different carpet. No response for 3 days. That is not acceptable. They lost our business. How could we trust the rest of the process after the bad start? We did decide on Mohawk products for both carpet and laminate flooring so they had the opportunity to install flooring for most of our house. We went with another family owned business. read more

From Mike , the salesman , who had an honest conversation about what options we had , and what would work best , to the office handling install timelines , to Elmer and his crew doing a fabulous install...all was great !!!! As I said ....the install crew were neat, clean and efficient! I will definitely look to them for future projects! read more

Great service, we met with Kate who came out to give us an estimate and we liked what we saw from the beginning. Our floors were not in bad shape but needed a darker tone to somewhat match the LVP we had installed in a recent renovation. The only negative I would have is on us. We had painted the baseboards and shoe molding prior to getting the floors done and the removal and replacement of the shoe molding will cause us to have to repaint. Overall for the value we are very happy One service had a lower quote but three were much higher (1000). It would have cost about 6-7000 to get these covered with matching LVP This job was less than half that quote. We love our renewed floors and look forward to many years of use. read more

After having re-read this response I am still angered. I am not sure if "bed-bound" mother was understood. We literally have to transport her with a lift, handicap wheelchair and special van. It was NOT easy coordinating an entire household with a paralyzed family member in a hotel room no less. And "offered to repair" at no cost?!? It should have been done correctly the first time. The manager with whom I spoke stated that he did not wish to speak with me as " I have been speaking with your husband". Regardless, every day is a constant reminder of the crummy job done on these floors. I paid for the installation of wood, that much is correct. Other than that, well... read more

This is top notch service. There were 3 key things that struck me about this company and gave me a great impression. 1. The representative came to my home during the winter storm even when other businesses were shut down and roads were icy. 2. Kevin, the owner, gave me a full rundown and timeline of the work to be down. 3. They notice a product which was slightly defective, although not a big deal. They brought it to my attention and we agreed to order new shipment with no issues. The overall impression is that A1 Floors isn't just a business to do floor projects and make money, but family-owned entity willing to go the extra mile to satisfy their customers with excellent service and quality products. read more

I want to recommend that if you need carpet or hardwood flooring for your home you need look no further. Chris, the sales rep, was punctual, and most professional. He helped me choose the best carpet for my home with two cats, and explained my hardwood flooring options. There was no pressure, just a promise that I would get the best price and the best service. I got that and more. There were plenty of colors available to chose from for LVP and carpeting. Their cost estimate beat the other two I received hands down, and the quality of the work leaves me proud to have selected them. I initially had my hallway parquet replaced with luxury vinyl plank, and my living room carpeted with a pie the cats could not claw and damage. After having some subflooring repairs done, they returned and completed installation of luxury vinyl plank in my dining room ad kitchen. Pictures are included so you can see why you should give them a call. Tell them I sent you. read more

Short version: staff was nice but the job was a mess and we are having to have our entireeeeee house redone. Longer version: We were so excited to use this company bc of the great reviews. The owner is super sweet and was helpful when flooring was backed up and made it work so everything could be delivered on time. That said, our floors are a mess. The planks are coming up after 3 months of use, the carpet is honestly our worst case scenario. Much like the planks, areas are already coming up. It's coloring and length are not at all what we wanted. We were re-doing our house from another state and it was pulling teeth to get any samples sent to us, even when we offered to order them direct from the flooring company site we just needed to know which ones to order based on availability. We were assured it would be the lightest color available and the length would short. It's not at all. It's a grey beige and very long and shaggy to the point that cheapens the look of our entire house. We had to turn down offers to have the house photographed bc the floors are honestly that much of a problem in comparison to the rest of the house. It's so upsetting bc there were a lot of other errors along the way working with this company but we stuck with them bc of how kind they were and other reviews seemed great. I thought all of the stress, follow up and coordination on our end would pay off. It didn't and we are paying a BIG price. I love all of the vendors we used and their amazing work with the exception of this one, unfortunately. Flooring is such a big part of the house, I wish we went somewhere that took as much pride in their work and word as do our house. read more

Did not complete the job due to not ensuring the correct type of outlet in advance. We arranged to be away for a week, spent a lot of time moving everything, so very disappointed to not have the work done. They refunded the deposit (thus the 2 stars rather than 1) but were not particularly apologetic about their mistake, and did not offer any sort of recompense. read more

We hired A1 Floors to replace our old carpet and laminate throughout our entire townhouse. We got 3 estimates and A1 Floors was average in terms of price. We felt very comfortable with what they offered and they just seemed like the most trustworthy and reputable. They also had great reviews. We made the best decision. They did amazing work in 1 day - moved our furniture, pulled out and hauled away our carpet/laminate, and installed the new floors! We worked with John, Robert and a team of 4 installers. We couldn't be happier so far. I would highly recommend A1 floors, they're the best! read more

I recently purchased a new home and requested an appointment to discuss flooring options and get a few quotes. Communicated that we'd definitely replace flooring on our 3rd floor and depending on the cost 2nd floor and stairwell - this was not a small job. The representative they sent was 4 hours late for our appointment. We were not notified but we called the office (30 minutes after the scheduled appointment). When he finally arrived, he was rude and unprofessional. We were presented few flooring options and then accused of "wasting his time". He promised quotes in the next two days, but it's been a week and we've heard nothing. I saw all the great reviews before I reached out, so I'm guessing this isn't the norm for A1. Riterug is coming next week to do the work we requested these quotes for. So far they've been great to work with! I'll post a review to their page once the work is completed. read more

When hiring a contractor I look for a few different things; 1. I want quality product 2. I want excellent service 3. I want on-time reliable delivery 4. And I personally prefer to support local. Because I own a small business myself, my expectations are high, and that adds a few extra layers of requirements when vetting businesses: 1. I like companies that are family-owned and community-centered. 2. I want to make sure employees are treated fairly and enjoy the work environment. 3. Most importantly I want to patronize businesses that give back! Kevin with A1 Floors checks EVERY single box! He is a joy to work with and his staff is incredibly polite, knowledgeable, and prompt. When I met the workers I asked questions only to receive praise for how well Kevin treats them. Kevin gives back with an open heart, and that is how I met him! I will always support businesses that invest back in the community that makes them successful. We reached out to Kevin when we needed desperate help at a local organization and his disposition and willingness to help makes me a loyal-for-life type of customer and I couldn't recommend him and the quality of his work enough! read more

Absolutely amazing from the planning stage to the installation!!! They are top notch in my book!!!

We had our new kitchen and bathroom LVP floors supplied and installed by A1 Floors and they look fabulous. The quoting and installation process went smoothly with no pressure or up-selling. Reasonably priced and the installers were thorough and paid a lot of attention to detail. We were hesitant because our last floor installation with another company did not go so well but A1 Floors knocked it out of the park! I would definitely recommend this company. We needed our floors redone upstairs to LVP because the animals kept peeing on the carpet. The sales representative Chris was extremely helpful in helping me figure out what to get done. I had other companies come and give me estimates, but A1 was very different. When Chris came, I knew that I would be in good hands and that I would be working with a company that really cared about their customers satisfaction. The customer service was great, they were always there to answer my questions and I went back-and-forth a few times with indecisiveness and they were patient and never got frustrated with me! I just needed a few weeks to just pull the trigger and decide to spend $10,000 on my upstairs and it was totally worth it! Chris was extremely responsive. They completed the project in only one day for my upstairs four bedroom house! I did have a couple of questions after the installation and the manager Mr. Robert was so kind and patient and addressed them, that I was so impressed with their customer service. I will definitely use them again and have already recommended them to others. I am very picky and not the most easy person to work with and I am a small business owner myself, and I will say that this company really does make sure that their customers are happy. I feel good about writing this honest review. Jessica Astrof read more
