It was about a week out from the date we needed it, but due to some extra days the biz was going to be closed, Susie was honest that it might not be ready in time, depending on how much it needed to be altered. Thankfully, she did a few dress hacks, and very minal work was needed and we got it days before the dance. And it was less than $40. Probably cheaper than her cute dress. They do take CC, but no AMEX. Just a heads up.

I've been coming to Nancy for a few years to get alternations and never had any issues until…read morerecently. I took my dress to Nancy to get it hemmed and it did not turn out the way I liked. There were two areas that needed to be corrected, the shoulder and the length of the dress (it was too long). The shoulder was corrected, and I have no issue with her correcting that part of the dress. However, the length of the dress was too short, and the stitching was sloppy. The seams had uneven curves and were not straight. It looks like a non-experienced person who worked on it. I had to find an alternate route to wear the dress. I ended up wearing flats and that made me feel self-conscious. I spent $60 to have the dress fix and it is upsetting that my expectation was not met. Needless to say, I will not be a returning customer. (I will share photos later.)

As someone who sews myself, I knew this was a repair beyond my comfort level. I carefully marked the adjustment with pins to show exactly where the alteration was needed. They did an amazing job--no one would ever know the zipper had been altered. The work was seamless and expertly done. Anyone who thinks the service is overpriced may not fully appreciate the skill and craftsmanship that quality tailoring requires. I found the cost to be more than fair for such exceptional work and would not hesitate to recommend them.

Unfortunately I had to come back twice as two items were incorrect at time of pick up. One dress failed to be shorten and another was still too big. When I returned a week later to pick up the two dresses, one was cutting into my armpit so tightly and had gaps on the chest. The only way it fit comfortably is if my arms are all the way behind my back. Otherwise it digs so deeply into the armpit that it hurts. I was told that due to how large the dress was originally, there was nothing that could be done about the ill fit in the armpit/chest area and just pull it down more. Gave no solution to fix. As experts in the alteration field, they should be clear on what can and can't be done with certain garments. I obviously would not have paid to alter a garment if I'd known it wouldn't fit properly. Unfortunately it is completely unwearable with the chest gaps and extremely tight armpit. Essentially I threw away $46 on that.
