I purchased a necklace on top of many other things from that visit back in June and wore the necklace for about five weeks before the "gold plated handmade necklace tarnished. while, I love the butterfly, I also found it online for five dollars so that was not handmade and putting it on a cheap necklace with your name on it is genius but not good for business. I did not reach out to the store so I'm not sure how they would handle this, but I wanted to share my experience.

Apparently this is a well known "secret" in Simi Valley. I first checked out their IG and was impressed with their social media clips each season and for holiday themes. Cute clothes and, very obviously, carefully and purposefully curated. When I walked in, someone I expect to be a "regular" was being attended to, but I was greeted and told to have a look around and alert her to any questions. After she got the customer in a dressing booth, with plenty of options, she came to me, said hi again and asked if she could be of assistance. I told her I would be getting a gift card, but would also like to browse a bit. She cheerfully said she would start the gift card and went straight away. I found a cute light pink tank I was just thinking of the day before and, at just $19, I decided to get it. I really wish I would've asked her name, she was so pleasant and a great salesperson. Not pushy, but did guide me toward accessories and such. Her handwriting was so nice I asked if she wouldn't mind writing my friend's name on the envelope provided, for continuity. She happily obliged, understanding how I wanted it to look nice. She then placed the enveloped certificate in a pretty pink bag with some pink tissue paper and my pink tank top. THIS is what shopping USE TO feel like! True boutique experience! I feel like their clothes covered a generous age range and the displays were lovely. Pricing seemed fair, I noticed items had tags from China, so it's not Los Angeles or USA made apparel pricing. It's definitely affordable and allows for at least one cute new outfit per season. Somehow, I ended up with my wallet, so what better time to shop? Fashion Gal has a lot of trendy clothes, and I've been wanting to update some pieces in my wardrobe, so I took a lap around. Unfortunately, a lot of the clothing had cheap/thin material and high prices. However, directly to the left of the store - upon entering - was a clearance section. The items ranged from about $3 to $20 in the clearance section plus there was an additional discount on some of the items. I looked at a cute blue dress that I wasn't sure I wanted, wandered away, found out they have dressing rooms, and went back to try on the dress, where I found a cuter, fitter, smaller lady eyeing it. I watched, eagle eyed, as she lifted it up from the rack to check it out and eventually put it back. I bolted over and grabbed it, trying it on in the dressing room. It fit and looked really nice! Score! It cost $5! I've wandered in here a few times after shopping at Wal-Mart to look in the clearance racks for more nice, discounted clothes. I found a pretty dress (but had cheap material) for $3, a cute skirt skirt for $3, and romper for $3. Everything was also discounted for another 20%, so I walked away with three cute items of clothing for less than 10 bucks! Usually I now only look in the clearance section, then I'm out when I find nothing I like. Everything else in the store is a little overpriced for my tastes, but I definitely was excited to find some cute pieces. And it's a good way to hype up yourself up for going into the busy Wal-Mart shopping center to do some essential shopping when you know needless and fun shopping at Fashion Gal is next!
