A Taiwanese restaurant located in the Artesia/Cerritos area that my family and I have frequented for almost 2 decades! The food always tastes fresh, and it feels good to know that they do not use MSG in their cooking. Cross streets are Pioneer and 183 St. which is at the end of Little India. It is next to Pizza Hut, and shares the same parking with Jin Tar. Parking can be a hassle since there is a grocery store in the plaza, but they do have designated spots just for the people that are dining at the restaurant. They do have an extensive menu, which means that some things can be a hit or miss. My tip is to go for their Economic Meals, which allows you to bundle 3 dishes from their specified economic meal menu for a certain price. ($27 for 3 dishes as of October 2019). Don't worry, the portions are still quite reasonable for a family style dinner. Since my family members are big eaters, we usually get 6 dishes from the Economic meal menu. Rice is not included, so make sure to tell them how many portions of rice you would like. My recommendations are: #38 Fried Pork Chop with Salt & Pepper #101 Green Onion w/ Shrimp, Beef & Chicken (Just want beef? My boyfriend requested a Chinese restaurant with spicy food for his birthday dinner, and M's Kitchen popped up in my search on Yelp. This was a small mom and pop type of restaurant, but still had a very welcoming atmosphere. We are glad we got to try this restaurant because the food was super delicious and authentic! We tried the Fish Fillet with Szechuan special Sauce, Braised String Beans, Shrimp Broccoli, and Shrimp Fried Rice which were all very delicious. The food came out decently fast. We did the economic meal special which included 3 items from the list costing $32.98. The shrimp fried rice was not part of the list, but was just $9.99. The pricing was reasonable for the quality, but I wish the portions were a bit bigger. The service was excellent! Our server was extremely friendly, funny, and made the dinner experience memorable. We brought our own cake and she was accommodating with storing our cake in the fridge. When it came time to cutting the cake, she gladly offered and was persistent in cutting and serving the cake to us. Small family Chinese spot in Artesia. Decided to try to new restaurant today. I love coming to this area due to the variety of food options in this area. Glad I finally got to this place. It has a small cozy atmosphere that was pretty empty other than 3 other customers. In total we got 6 dishes, salt and pepper pork chops not pictured as I forgot to take a pic. From my least to most favorite is the Orange peel chicken. I'd give it like a 7/10, the chicken was juicy but the flavor was lacking. The chowmein with beef was solid, nothing too crazy to rave about. Keep in mind portions for each of these dishes are pretty hefty. Solid 8/10. Same for the green onion pancakes, it was good especially for the price, and makes for a great appetizer. The rice and twice cooked sliced pork were some of my personal favorites from here. Both are packed with flavors and I couldn't stop eating these. I'd give 9/10 for these. The best thing was the not pictured salt and pepper pork chops, I'd give those a 9.5/10. With a $15 "service fee" plus every other fee Yelp puts on every order now, a dinner for two pushes $150. However, they don't rely on MSG or extra grease and oil like other Chinese restaurants to make their food tastes good. I always get the economic meals which comes with your choice of 3 dishes. What a find. We have been looking for good Chinese since we left Sacramento in 2018. In those five years, we have yet to find what we felt was proper authentic Chinese food. Everyone has their staple dish to rate one Chinese place to another. My dish is Honey Walnut Shrimp. So many places try to do their version of this, and so many places use some white mayo additive, and I know immediately, that it won't be good. When M's Kitchen brought this dish out, I could see immediately their Walnut Shrimp was crispy with a nice honey GLAZE on this beautiful dish--just amazing execution. The Orange Chicken was also very well done. Nice balance of sweetness and heat, and their chicken is lightly breaded without all the heavy oil. The House Special Beef and Chow Mein were also excellent. All their dishes had generous portions, too. My boyfriend's parents decided to go here for lunch. There were just a few of customers at the time we went in. The chairs were not cleaned. After I sat down at our table, leaned back to rest my back; my t-shirt got stick to the chair, I have to pulled forward and kept my back straight and away from it the whole time. I was looked around to change to a different chair, but other chairs look like there are grease or something sticky there too. However, I can managed that, so it was okay. Anyways, the hot and sour soups were brought out and serve first. I'm not a fan of hot and sour soup, but it is good here; with lots of tofu, bamboo, mushroom, etc... We enjoyed the soup while wait for our other orders of Dried Shrimp with Chinese Squash (boyfriend's dad said that it was bitter, so he exchanged it with Eggplant with Hot Garlic Sauce), General Tso's Chicken (it was okay, looked like it's still pink and not fresh meat), Intestines in Hot Pot (my favorite), and Braised Pork Ball in Brown Sauce. We decided to go with the Economic Meal, since we were getting food for 3 of us. 3 items for a little less then $40, which is decent, but not necessarily cheap. The tofu is the fried kind, which is more expensive and flavorful. Lastly, the Fish Fillet was good because the fish was smooth and the wine sauce wasnt overwhelming. It also included vegetables and some fungi. The meal also came with a cold tea, which was a nice add on. We were searching for a Taiwanese style restaurant in the area, and stumbled upon M's Kitchen on Yelp. Upon entering the restaurant, we were warmly greeted by Monica and Cathy, which only made the experience here even better. We ordered the steamed pork with vegetables and the beef with satay sauce lunch specials. We were not disappointed, not only were the dishes amazingly tasty, but they were not overly salty nor greasy. The beef satay comes with a generous amount of Taiwanese spinach, and the steamed pork lunch portion was amazing as well. Our lunch special came with a bowl of delicious hot and sour soup with lots of stuff in it... almost a small meal in itself. Hot tea is standard with the meal, which is always a great bonus, as more and more restaurants are charging for tea. We were surprised to find out that this great little hole in the wall restaurant has been here for over 13 years and we never knew about it, so now we are going to make up for lost time, as their menu is quite extensive and will require lots more visits in the future. We ordered our Lunar New Year dinner here one day ahead of time, and when picking up, the employee taking orders and payment went out of her way to offer estimates on when the food was coming. We waited outside about 20 minutes and she must have come up to us 3 times of her own accord since she saw us waiting. Since their menu is so broad, you can't really go wrong with anything. However, I've loved their seafood fried rice, kungpao chicken, multiple version of their broiled fish in sauce, and spicy chicken (I believe that's the English translation), just to name a few. The chili-sauce fish filet lacks flavor; the snow pea shrimp was bland; and the bamboo shoots with pork was good. I asked her about the 'Economic Meal' menu since it seems too good to be true. $16.95 for 3 dishes, although $1 extra for seafood, and $5.95 for each additional dish. I ordered 4 dishes to go (Twice cooked pork, fish filet with chili bean sauce, shrimp with hot garlic sauce, and braised string bean), and got a (Steamed Pork with Pickled Mustard Greens) lunch combo. Everything was authentic and fairly tasty, but I think they could have gone a little lighter on the oil and salt. I generally ask for less oil and salt at Chinese places, but forgot this time, so that's my bad. Parking was no problem and service was quick. Well this place has been pretty good until last night when we ordered take-out at 8:30 since they said they close at 9 but the sign says they close at 9:30? (they said it happened to be cleaning night so its okay. But our food was where the problem was. When we ordered, we specifically said no onions/ no garlic twice to the lady. When we got home there were tons of garlic and when we called the lady, she pretty much said its impossible (as if we're lying...) since they never put garlic in that dish and she has no way of asking the chef.
