Food was good (Carnitas Burrito Bowl) but I ordered the "Lunch menu Burrito Bowl" which according to the menu should be $11. I was charged $13 for it. I paid via Toast using my iPhone camera so really didn't notice the discrepancy until later. Yeah, it was worth $13 but would have liked transparency with pricing. read more

I found this beautiful gem on yelp and fell in love. I read the reviews, looked at the pictures of the inside, outside and food. I couldn't resist checking if these reviews were verifiable. The staff at Tasty Taco was awesome. They were happy, bubbly and excited to recommend everything on the menu. Btw it is true, the reviews are spot on. The food was a Authentic and delicious. This is a new restaurant in Andover, that has more than just tacos. It is a small place with maybe 15 tables total. They were fairly busy for 3:30 on a Saturday. There is a full bar and a menu that has tacos and other Latin cuisine. I had the Burria Huarachazo and my daughter had the Chimi-Burrito Barbacoa with cheese sauce. I don't often find myself hanging out in the burbs and looking for restaurants. The name and the strip mall factor ought not fool you. I've eaten here twice in 4 days now while house-sitting. You must order the Birria as this is what they are known for, and it is quite good. Slow-cooked meat, delicious sauce and salsa options with melted cheese. It's hard to do it justice. We also ate the nachos which were good, but I probably put a little more stuff on my homemade ones. I'd like to try more, and won't be surprised if I'm back in the next week. read more

First time visiting Tasty Taco and on a Friday night - very pleasantly surprised. Menu has an interesting variety of options. Nice cocktails, wine, and beer list. Opted in for a couple Modelo Nedra on tap - came in a chilled ceramic mug and stayed cold during entire visit. Loved that... I'm going to do that at home! Had chips + guacamole... first off, the guac was quite good and a good mix of smooth/chunky, not too heavy on cilantro. Just a taste thing for me. Chips were the usual. What I liked was that they gave you a decent portion of guac... where some restaurants give you a couple Tbsp and charge you for your first born. This place gave you about 3/4 to a cup of guac. For dinner, Husband opted for the Chimi- Burrito smothered in queso which had a slight spice to it, was flavorful. He really liked it and brought half home. Burrito was big- stuffed with rice, seasoned meat and veg. I had the Birria Tacos. Oh my word, so good... like eating the most tender pot roast with cheese and a side of pot roast sauce, lime, and radish. We both opted for the Mexican Corn in a cup. Mixed in the mayo, cheese, and seasoning... so very good and creamy. Other options on menu looked interesting... coming back to check them out! Service was fantastic, very friendly and attentive, courteous. Prices were a little up there but then so is everything else these days. Location is unexpected for a place like this. Hope they stick it out and stay in the NW Metro- we need a different kind of Hispanic restaurant up here than the usual ones that grace the county roads. This one is different and refreshing! This is a small neighborhood gem!!! Best Mexican I've had in the states!!! I had the steak fajitas with a tomato allergy and they were so careful that my food was safe and it was absolutely delicious! The rice and beans were divine! The food and service were absolutely amazing and I would probably eat it again. They serve you chips with salsa and guacamole and they are really fast with getting you your food and drinks. I would rate it a five but my family says it's not that great and I feel like if you can't please everyone it's not 5 stars. But It's probably around 4.5 stars. It's kind of expensive but it's good food and worth it depending on your opinion of good food. So I recommend Tasty Taco. read more

First timer and last time. The o my thing remotely flavorful was the hot sauce for the burrito, other then that, it was a poor attempt at Mexican cuisine. Carne Asada burrito was terrible and had peas in it?! I'm sure other things taste better, but I won't be sticking around to find out. read more

We checked out this restaurant this evening. The service was very good. We enjoyed our entrees. One of us got an asada quesadilla. It was beautifully presented and delicious. The other of us got their specialty, the birria taco platter. It was very flavorful and fresh. Lastly, we got a chin-burrito. It was large and filled with your choice of meat, cheese, beans and rice. The flour tortilla was almost like fry bread. Our only issue was that the salsa was more like a tomato sauce. We will visit the restaurant again! read more

Oh noooooo!!!! I discovered this place in early November and was BLOWN AWAY. Pupusas are my absolute favorite food and they were the best I have ever had. I've been craving them ever since. Plus, I was told they were gluten free - praise God! They worked for the whole family! Tonight we ordered them again, and the whole family cheered! (No, we haven't had them since that afternoon in November... we don't eat out that much and the holidays blah blah blah.) I noticed that the menu online no longer labels them as gluten-free (shoot!) and they looked a little different (not as poofy). We ate them. And they were fine. But that's it. :( Maybe they have a new chef? Or maybe the afternoon/night shift makes a difference? Or maybe they changed the recipe. :( Anyway, super duper disappointing! I will try one more time during the afternoon and see what they are like. I'll update when I do. We haven't eaten in the restaurant, but my sister says that it's very cute and the food is good. AMAZING! We had plans to eat somewhere else, but they were a 45 minute wait so we decided to try Tasty Taco. The moment we walked in we were greeted and were taken to our table. We were given some warm chips and salsa. They were a perfect start to a great meal. My wife started out with a mango style margarita; It was fun and delicious! We got Papas Locas and FINALLY someone did it right having crispy fries with toppings. The chorizo on these fries were so flavorful that this has become a favorite of mine! The fries stayed crispy with all of those toppings! We also shared the Chimi-Burrito; WOW! This is a huge deep fried flour tortilla stuffed with your choice of meat, rice, beans and cheese, and topped with your choice of salsa or queso, we went with queso. So flavorful, so delicious and that queso is amazing. We also shared the Birria taco platter. This was 3 tacos filled with birria, cheese, onions and cilantro, served with a side of consommé. There was a great amount of cheese and meat ratio and the consommé was so delicious, I could eat that with anything! The last thing we tried was the Pupusas Revueltas, The is Salvadorian traditional food. It's a thick griddle masa cake, stuffed with chicharron, cheese and beans. Fun little food with good flavor. They give you a variety of little cups of salsa that have so much flavor. The Tasty Taco is a favorite of ours. Our server Janeth was top notch. We have seen a decline in customer service but not at the Tasty Taco and not with Janeth. read more

Queso tasted like it was from a jar. Food was mediocre, prices were high and portions were not big. our bill got messed up as well.

Good food, fantastic food even, but when it comes to drinks that's another story. Ordered the pina colada and it was good, not very strong but good. What I have an issue with is shady business practices. On their drink menu it says pina colada and under it says choose your rum. Any rational person would be like okay cool we choose rum and it doesn't cost more because it doesn't say there is an up charge. No there are no prices for the drinks on the drink menu. So what ended up happening was I paid $33 dollars for 2 I assume 16oz pina coladas. When we said malibu with our drinks the waiter didn't mention that there was an upcharge for our choice of rum. I would just say my chief complaint is how it's shady to basically charge us for 4 drinks when we got two. Again food was fantastic and the drink even tasted good it's just not $16 a pop good. read more

Little gem tucked away in a strip mall in Andover. Went for first time tonight and will be back for sure. Our server Taylor was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu- had shrimp and fish tacos (both fabulous) and the salsa flight. Food is tasty and seasoned well. I always order the chimi-burrito. I would've liked to have more on my plate than just condiments. Maybe a side of rice or beans or a side dish that would compliment the burrito because it's just a burrito on my plate. You get a burrito on one side and then the rest is open. I think presentation is key maybe dress up your plating would help too. Our waiter was attentive and friendly. This place is small and narrow. Tables are too close to each other. I wouldn't say this is a great place for a large group because of the limited space. When you first walk in though you get hit with the smell of bleach and then that smell lingers throughout the place which is very unpleasant and kills the ambiance. The steak was dry and fatty, the rice was white and unflavored, and the "pico de gallo" was just chopped up tomatoes.
