We stopped in on a Monday night around 6:30, and the place was full. It's a small restaurant, about a dozen or so tables with another half dozen seats at the bar. The ambiance is minimal, but who cares if you can get good food!? We were seated with menus and then waited over 15 minutes before anyone spoke to us, even though there were at least 6 servers/bartenders/hosts/expeditors on the floor. They all kept walking by and looking at our table, but not so much as a "I'll be right with you." Just as we were getting ready to leave, someone finally came to the table. It took another 10 minutes before we actually had our order placed (water, drinks, chips, hand-held computer that wasn't working, etc. etc.) The food came quickly and yes, it is authentic. But the steak tacos were very dry and the beans and rice were barely luke warm. The nachos were good. Plenty of pork on them, but the queso sauce was all at the bottom of the plate. It was just a weird experience. The one thing that annoyed me the most was one person who I thought was an expeditor was running around talking to the staff, but he never really did anything. As busy as they were, he could have ran food, bussed tables, refilled chip baskets, but no. This place has great possibilities but it's not ready for prime time. The staff was not organized, and there wasn't any management to guide them. I would stop back if I was in the area, but not real soon. read more
