Food took twice as long as it should have with another 25 people in the building max. This place is amazing! Immediately drawn in by the cozy lights and pretty bar. The menu has South American offerings that I want to go back and try. My husband had the Cubana and he LOVED it. I tried the Enchiladas and all 3 sauces were delicious. And their salsa made me so happy. It's served warm and reminded me of the salsa at my favorite childhood Mexican restaurant. Couldn't get enough. The owner Vanessa waited on us and she was so sweet. She recommended the Dama cocktail and it was so refreshing and complex. She also makes a killer mojito. First off this amazing server ( forgot to get their name) was phenomenal!! They had a table of 8-10 people sat at a large table, all the booths were full, another group of 8 people showed up and this host/server managed it all!! Also in my opinion without any stress or conflicts. We were seated, my brother who continues to be short or impatient starts off by barking at their server that he wants a Diet Coke, i say thank you to the server. After which I tell my brother to tone it down because the server seems to be all by themselves and that my brother should be more patient or practice more patience. After we get our drink orders and a basket of tortilla chips and salsa, the server again is told by my brother that we were ready to order...again I say to my brother well let's make sure the server can take it yet. To which the server did have to be elsewhere for a minute and that they would be back. After a minute the server did come back and take our order, I ordered the 3 birria tacos combo and my brother ordered the 3 beef tacos. The food came out maybe 20 minutes later, again this place was hopping for a lunch rush at 12pm. The food was amazing, I wish I had a video of the cheese pull from my birria tacos but sadly I don't so you'll have to imagine. My brother wolfed down his three tacos and then finished off the basket of chips. I'm impressed Overall, I've heard nothing but rave reviews about Mrs Taco and was excited to check it out. The space is quite small but well laid out with a little bar at the entrance, exposed kitchen beyond that and table/booth seating opposite. It's decorated nicely. Not over the top, cheesy/cheap, like some similar restaurant. One thing I love is the variety on the menu. This is not a "Mexican" restaurant. While they have Mexican cuisines, there is a heavy focus on El Salvadoran and Guatemalan fare as well. The service was excellent. Fast and friendly. The owner, Vanessa, walks the dining area and checks in with every guest. She really creates an intimate experience. The food was awesome. Everything was authentic, fresh, and homemade. A very nice restaurant located in a small outlet. The decor seemed very modern and hip. The inside was a bit warmer than it was outside which I didn't enjoy. Was greeted and seated immediately. They do have a small vegetarian menu. Ordered the veggie fajitas with no cheese or sour cream to make it vegan. The rice was different from the usual Mexican rice but I did enjoy my food. My friend ordered the torta and it was much bigger than we both thought. They did charge $3 for refills on chips/salsa which I thought was strange since other restaurants don't. Overall the visit was nice. The bathrooms were clean and also looked very modern. Our waitress was also very friendly. Would stop here again if I'm in the area. read more

I was looking for a quick bite to eat and decided to try Mrs. Taco! There is plenty of parking as this is located in a strip mall. The atmosphere was clean and modern! It My son and I were the only two there for awhile. This place seemed very well kept. The service here was out of this world, everyone was extremely kind! It felt like we were being served by family! I have been to a lot of taco joints around and this place definitely wins for best service! The food was pretty good! Definitely try the Queso Pupusa! The Birria tacos were tasty but I wish there was a little more meat. The consume was flavorful! The chips and salsa that came to the table were good, but the salsa came warm and I love a good fresh cold salsa! My son did not like the chicken fingers and fries, but to be fair, that's not what this place specializes in. I tried the chili rellano combo dinner. It came with a side of lettuce tomatoes and a spicy qaucamole in a tiny container with a dab of sour cream. The rellano was very small but had good flavor. Given the price of $18.00 I expected something more substantial. If the pepper was that small they should be giving you two. Acapulco gives more bang for your buck. I don't know if I will be going back. Probably not. I see you replied to my review thanks so much. It really means that you take pride in your business. I usually really enjoy this place. Lately, the service has continued to be really good but the value proposition has been going down. I loved the Birria quesadilla, even though it's pricy at $18. It was enough for 2 meals at 6 or so big slices. The size got reduced to 4 slices and the price remained the same. The huarachazo used to be a stand alone dish but they shrunk it and added rice and beans to the side to supplement, again the price remained the same, the dish doesn't match the written description any more. The drinks a tad on the expensive side but craft quality delicious! My only complaint I asked for my drink spicy and got charged extra, I ordered Birria tacos assuming they came with the dipping sauce, got charged extra, please just tell me in advance next time. I did not take a picture but the booth style seating was perfect and comfortable they also has regular dining tables that can accommodate more people. Well, passing through town we had a lovely dinner experience at Mrs. tacos. It is not your traditional Mexican fair. It is unique combination of Guatemalan and Yucatan flavors. Everything was exceptional! We tried the traditional enchiladas, which were very good and two different burritos. All of the meats that they offer are delicious and have different flavors. I believe they offer nine different types of meat that you can choose from to put in your tacos or your burritos. We met the owner and she was very nice and proud of her establishment. Service was amazing! I was greeted and seated immediately and my server was on point! At first, the chips I got were a little stale and the salsa was warmed (not sure who likes heated salsa) and bland. I let my server know and she brought me fresh chips and some hotter sauces right away. The chicken torta was nice and juicy and came with fries. Not a bad meal for the price. Mrs Taco is just amazing. Best food from Mexico, Guatemala, and El Salvador I've ever had. Their Tamales (off menu) are wrapped in banana leaves and it adds a unique flavor. Sis doesn't like Mexican so I got a group of current and ex- coworkers to join me for a Sunday ladies night out. I knew this place was going to be small just by judging from the previous Chinese take out restaurant in this space. But they made great use of the footage. It didn't feel cramped and the lightning ambience was great. The bar is to your left right when you walk in and the dining area with lots of tables and about 7 booths to your right. Booths look cozy. The table have black wrought iron chairs with a cushioned seat. The back of the chairs wrap around in a semi circle which is uncomfortably narrow for women (or men) with bigger hips and caboose. But I dealt with it. The server (and bartender) were very friendly and attentive. It took a while for all of us the arrive and the server kept coming back to take new drink orders and fill/refill chips and salsa. Entree orders where taken and food was brought out very quickly. So many good things ordered that I passed the phone around so everyone could document their order. Me: Barbacoa Chimi-burrito with queso topping. Blended strawberry margarita. Linda: Cheese Quesadilla. Kim: Pupusas Emily: Taquitos Jen: Taquitos Nancy: Chicken Burrito Bowl Marne: Chipotle Chicken Chimi-Burrito with queso topping. Kate: Pupusas, Tamale and Mexicorn side. Chit chat between mouthfuls of rice, beans... with an occasional "this is so good". Some had been here before, some were first timers. One even place a to go order for her husband. The overall evening and service was excellent. I did have one issue with my meal and I brought it to the servers attention. He offered to remake it but I was over halfway through it and was full. No need to remake anything, just thought they should be aware of an "unexpected find". He apologized and later brought out commentary churros for all. I've never really had a churro before and these were hot, crunchy sugar/ soft cinnamon with gooey caramel and chocolate sauce. To die for. Where have I been? I tried strawberry on the rocks and it was awesome. My sister loved her mango margarita. I tried the Alambre Al Gusto with carnitas meat and I loved it. Excellent food - 4.5 stars! After choking down some crappy Tex-Mex at Acapulco Restaurante last week, my visit to Tasty Taco was a wonderful change. The food was great, the service was awesome, and the prices won't break your budget. Tasty Taco is a small, intimate space. It isn't a fancy place and the prices aren't fancy either. The whole restaurant has a clean, modern vibe. They have a small bar up front with beer on-tap and a nice selection of spirits for whipping up cocktails. About half of the tap beer options are Mexican so I grabbed some Pacifico - ice cold and hoppy - nice! My corn chips and the house salsa along with the house queso blanco cheese dip were very good. My giant Chimi-Burrito was packed full of flavor and it filled me up. Finally, my La Canoa (fried plantains) was topped with a dollop of vanilla ice cream and drizzled with caramel. It's a flavorful stewed beef, that is not spicy. It's great in tacos, or on top of the alambres. This is maybe my favorite food at the restaurant and they serve it in a variety of ways. While there is a TON of tasty, non-spicy, food, Mrs. Taco also meets the needs for those that like it hot! When they offer a sauce or dish that they say is "hot," they are not joking around! Absolutely delicious, and great with some of their cocktails or even a huge beer. I've both eaten in and taken out. Absolutely wonderful either way. This is Latin food - Guatemala, El Salvador, this is not TexMex or CaliMex. The flavors are there, the food is delicious. The atmosphere is cozy. The staff was very accommodating. My only complaints were they are under staffed and the tamale is filled with one big chunk of pork instead of shredded pieces. I had a revueltas pupusas and a pork tamale. They came with a quick pickled slaw that was very good. Mom got the taquitos fritos and really liked them but wished she had asked for Queso instead of the creme fresh. read more

Best pupusas in the twin cities! Stopped in for the first time on a Saturday evening and was pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere and authentic quality of the dishes served here. The wait staff were friendly and provided great insight into the menu options. The pupusas are top notch and the huarachazo is quite good as well.
