Ordered my usual, Fajitas with beef. My son ordered the exact same thing. His portions were much better than my blobs of guac, sour cream, mushed together thrown onto my plate. Flavor was so-so. Once served our food, we were left alone. Had to flag down staff for a container and check! Seems like things here keep slipping away and not returning like a few years back. I've ordered takeout a couple of times from Acapulco, so I can't speak on the service or atmosphere of the restaurant. Delivery does take a while (sometimes up to an hour). The food is pretty standard to slightly above average Tex-Mex. The serving sizes are very big. I get at least two meals out of an entree. The star of the show and a must order every time is the queso. I've never had anything like it before - it's so good and worth the high price tag. read more

I have eaten here twice and both times My food wasn't very warm. The most recent experience we tried a variety of items with two of our littles and myself having upset stomachs. fajitas, burritos and enchiladas alongs with chips queso and drinks were the nights menu It may just be the Blaine location but I am pretty tough on Mexican food since moving from California. They have a great building and location, sometimes food and service slips a little bit. Chips and queso are always excellent. House margarita is good. Usually the Fajita Burrito is my go to, never used to let me down, this time, not so great. Average Americanized Mexican food - 3 stars. Acapulco is like the Perkins of Mexican restaurants. No Horchata, no mango drink, no lime drink, no Jarritos soda, no interesting Mexican meat selections, and no hot sauces or condiments. Plenty of iceberg lettuce and mayo. You get the idea. The best thing I can say is the food comes out fast n' hot and it doesn't cost very much. And the bar is huge and pretty cool looking. But my food came out in the wrong order and they completely forgot my order of cheese dip. I finally got it though. By the way, "Our Famous Cheese Sauce" is just standard melted queso blanco - nothing special at all. I joked with my server (a very nice Mexican woman): I guess I need to have dinner at her house to get some authentic Mexican food. She didn't get it. Oh, well. But I'm sure I'm right. I placed a pick up order and had a coupon for a free cheese sauce. When I got to the restaurant, they told me that the coupon could not be used as it was fraudulent... I've use this coupon several times in the past with no question over the last few years, which is the reason I continue to come back to this location. We ended up here because the original place was full of Viqueen and Packer fans. It was not a disappointment. We were seated quickly. The decor is your traditional Americanized Mexican restaurant. Tables were clean but we had to put a rolled up napkin under one of legs to even it out. They brought us some warm chips, salsa and Queso cheese. The salsa was really good. Better than most restaurants I've been to. There was 4 of us so we ran out quickly. They were quick to bring us more chips. My fiancé and I shared the wet burrito. Large portion with amazing chipotle sauce. The only negative was the chicken was really dry. I had a single chicken taco. It was meh. Nothing special, it to was made with the same dry chicken. Well this was a waste of 45 mins. My g/f, her daughter and I came in on 10/9....horrible is stating it nicely. The burritos that my g/f & her daughter ordered came out incorrect. They asked for some ingredients to be removed, none were. My fajitas came out looking like they were sitting for a while (no sizzle) & the flour tortillas were burnt & rock hard and would not come apart. They did offer to remake everything, but after this was our 2nd choice for food for the night & we said nope, we're out. I would really give this 0 stars is possible. read more

Acapulco is consistently awesome. The Andover location is new, spacious and a great atmosphere to eat lunch or dinner. The food is always hot and comes quick no matter what you get. The tall beer is extra tall and is extremely cold making it some of the best beer on tap in town. Chips and salsa always come out right away which is well complicated with cheese dip. Little hint for everyone, order a large cheese dip and you can get a lid to go to bring it home. Leftovers always heat up well including the dip which goes well with chips at home. If you want some great Mexican food, you can't go wrong at Acapulco. I have been to several locations and they are all consistently excellent. read more

On Cinco De Mayo, I went to the KDWB Star Party ticket blast with Raven and this was such a wonderful event to attend! I can confidently say I had a good first experience with Acapulco. Although I did not dine in like one typically would, it was definitely a fun event that Acapulco hosted! I was dying to win tickets, and getting to celebrate Cinco De Mayo with the Coon Rapids community on top of that, was such a good time! We danced & drank, & danced & drank some more in a little tent set up in the Acapulco parking lot. KDWB brought the beats, and Acapulco provided a taco bar and little bar off to the side. Before I knew it, it was bumpin'. Kids, college students, and older folks alike...everyone was out to get down. I saw so many people bust a move while enjoying the food and drinks that were available. I did not try the tacos however, I couldn't pass up a drink on Cinco De Mayo. I purchased a beer and margarita for $10 which wasn't too bad of a price for two drinks. I was expecting that they were going to charge us a sky high amount, but that was not the case. I was also expecting that my drink was going to be average at best given the fact that the bar was a little makeshift bar outside, but boy was I wrong. The margarita was one of the best I've had in a long time. The perfect mixture of booze and goodness that made me tempted to buy 3 more, but being that I had work the next day, I was responsible. The bartender clearly knew her craft and delivered a tasty drink. I really liked the activities they had for both kids and adults. There were picture cutouts to take photos with, face painting, and prize giveaways/competitions. There were sweet candy suckers on the tables and free bead necklaces as well. There was something for everyone. The taco lady right outside of the tent was a nice touch to the Cinco de Mayo celebration. I obviously had to take a photo with her since she was depicting one of my favorite foods. I told her I should've worn a burrito costume, but I didn't get the memo. There is a reason this has become a Northwest Suburban Favorite. The service has been excellent every time we go. Not a fan of their house salsa but chips and salsa are a staple must have. So we always order a bowl or two of the cheese dip. The food is very good with generous portions. Used to be a whole lot cheaper but they had to move to a larger space and they opened a second location to feed the masses and I suppose the price was bound to reflect their new reputation. read more

When we got there not only did we not have to wait long, but the server was really friendly, and answered any questions that we might have concerning the ingredients of the various menu items. I have to say the free chips with salsa, was a bonus since it really filled us up. Of course not only were the portions huge, but I had enough for leftovers. The Acapulco in Andover, MN is one of our favorites! It is one of our local go-to restaurants! Their private room is fantastic! We recently had our wedding rehearsal dinner here in their private room and it was perfect for the occasion! The room is very spacious- seated 40 very comfortably, is walled off with doors for complete privacy from the rest of the restaurant and connects to the new and awesome patio! And I didn't even yet mention their food! The food at Acapulco is AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS! It is some of my favorite Mexican and at a really great affordable price! This location is relatively to new too and the decor is really cute- rustic/modern with a Mexican twist- nice atmosphere. Great place for a dinner, date night or private party/event! read more

This is a good, authentic Mexican restaurant owned by a local family with several locations across the Twin Cities. I have been to this location several times, and I am always happy with the food. The portions are good sized for the money, the staff are friendly, and those free chips and salsa will fill you up! They have a full bar, and have $3 beer specials for the most of the day. I have enjoyed a margarita or two as well, they are very good too! They usually have a lunch plate special (Tacos, burrito, enchiladas, etc.) with a choice of one or two items and beans and rice! The food is hot, fresh and made to order. You can add or subtract items from your order with no problems, and they really make an effort to get you what you want. The food comes out hot, fresh, and delicious! Whatever time of day you visit, there are usually many tables filled with people enjoying the food, drinks and company at Acapulco. I have gone to other Acapulco restaurants and they haven't had service like this location. I recommend eating here Tuesday-Thursday if you don't like eating in a packed restaurant. This place gets booming busy all weekend long, and on Monday night, because of their delicious $1 taco night. Free chips and salsa to share with every visit. I strongly recommend getting the queso (cheese sauce) with the chips, the queso costs like a buck, but it is so worth it! AWESOME atmosphere, and elegant decretive theme. We went to Acapulco for lunch this week. I have been here over a dozen times and have never been disappointed. The service is excellent and the atmosphere has a nice Mexican flair. The food portions and taste are superb. We usually get the chicken creamed burrito (dinner size - which is two burrito's), so we can eat half and bring home the second burrito. They bring out complimentary warm chips and salsa for you and refill whenever it get's empty. The chips are thin and crispy and the salsa is wonderful. Not to hot and not to bland. Every trip brings us the same experience, great food and terrific fast service. We will be coming back. Oh, did I mention the prices. They are very reasonable. Overall, a great value. read more

The only thing is, the rice they give you on the platter is tasteless and has corn in it, which I don't like.
