It's a really cool place and well-appointed, but I think my experience was that I expected a whole lot more than for what was got with the experience. It's almost the 4-star rating, would be nice if we could do 3.5, but I still think 3/5 is more appropriate compared to other steakhouses in the area when you got places like Tony's or Ruby's in the Cincinnati market. Again, very cool location. Starters were fine, definitely not too bad, and staff was decent overall. The steak though, underwhelming. Sides were also kind of disappointing. I mean, for what you pay for what you get, I'd rather go to other places. Now, am I going to flat out refuse to go again? Our first visit and it won't be our last! We started in the bar for Happy Hour, we were waiting for our dinner friends. So this was our initial stop. Every staff member was gracious, friendly and immediate service. Nice happy hour menu!!! Our friends arrived and we were seated by a window during a crazy weather night, rain, hail, c'mon City spring weather, but it was wonderful to watch and downtown views are superior! We decided to try something new to celebrate our anniversary. MRBL is absolutely gorgeous inside and a lot of attention was paid to make it gorgeous. The view was also pretty spectacular. Our server was sweet and very knowledgeable about the menu. We were starving so we ordered the blue crab dip. It was delicious and very rich and filling. For the second course we each got a salad. My husband enjoyed his marble salad and the Caprese salad was one of the best I've had. I enjoyed the presentation and the roasted cherry tomatoes. Their sushi rolls are huge so the large price tag matches what you'll get. It was impossible to finish. I order the newer version of their mani mahi- topped with goat cheese pesto. I was so stuffed from the first two courses (eyes definitely bigger than my stomach!) I only had two bites. The dish seemed a bit salty for me and the goat cheese overpowered the pesto. We enjoyed sharing a dessert like cocktail that was a bit like a espresso martini/affogato. We enjoyed the live music from the bar and felt it was a nice addition to our evening. As many others have said the experience overall doesn't match the menu prices. If you go expecting a Ruby experience, you'll be disappointed. If you are looking for a beautiful space and something new it's a good spot to try. The length of the meal was rather long as many have mentioned- a lot of time between courses and sometimes long waits for drinks. My wife and I came with friends since we live in NKY. With pricing similar to Jeff Ruby's, our expectations were at least that the steaks would be on par with other local establishments like Blinkers or Walt's Hitching post. Of the four of us, 3 of the steaks were really bad. So bad that we didn't even finish them. My wife's steak was okay and at least close to what we'd expected. In addition to the steaks, we had a bug in one of our drinks, didn't get the bread until after salads were served, and my "Oscar style" steak had maybe 2 smaller than a penny size pieces of crab. The service was friendly but the level of professionalism was that of a Texas Roadhouse. One server wearing what looked to be pajama style shoes and hot pink socks. Our server struggled with reviewing the menu. I'm currently at another local restaurant having a drink and eating desert because we didn't even want to risk getting desert there. This restaurant has a most amazing view. I suggest requesting a window table if available. The staff is polite and not obtrusive. We had a party of six and enjoyed some custom cocktails before ordering. I recommend the Bourbon Sidecar if you want a lovely retro drink. The menu leans heavy on steak and seafood. Neither of these is my favorite. I ordered the pork chops. I was happy with the dish, and shared tastes with others at the table. The chicken was not great and had way too much sauce on it. The sea bass was decent but also underwhelming. The steak tartare was not good at all. Front of house really made an effort to make our 33rd anniversary special, with touches like roses on the table, a quiet location with a view, and rose pedals sprinkled throughout. Service throughout the evening was spot on. Truly, they did a great job. Where the evening fell short, however, was what in the end matters most -- food quality. For cocktails, we had the Manhattan Project, a concoction of Hornito's black barrel anejo, vermouth, black cherry juice, and smoked chili bitters. It was delicious, and primed me for high expectations for the rest of the night. If MRBL can deliver a meal befitting of this cocktail, well, I'd come away a happy man. We started with Blue Crab Spinach Dip and a Spicy Tuna Roll. The spinach dip was great; the roll subpar. The fresh bread rolls were nicely done. Next was a Caesar salad with anchovies, and it was good. The lettuce fresh, the flaked parmesan plentiful. My only suggestion is a dash of lemon juice to liven it up a tad. For the main course, I had the 45 Day Dry-Aged Bone In Ribeye. It was cooked to the correct temperature and was a nice thick cut, but honestly, it lacked seasoning to pull out the flavor that dry aging should have imparted to the cut. Perhaps MRBL relies on the upsell toppings, but I'm a traditionalist and to be blunt, it fell far short of its $79 price point. My wife had a fish dish -- Pan Seared Branzino. She too felt it was under-seasoned to the point of blandness. She commented that even the capers were undernourished. We also shared mashed potatoes, which on the menu looked just too yummy to pass up. Alas, I've had far better in many other places. Our bill was north of $220, an amount I'm not opposed to spending for a very good meal. This, however, was not that. read more

After reviewing their menu, they had the crispy rice spicy tuna roll as an appetizer, so I had to check it out. The food was amazing! Server was amazing and attentive. Free parking right outside the entrance to the restaurant and you take a glass elevator up to the restaurant which is on the 4th floor, which I thought was cool. Upon walking in, we were greeted immediately by the manager. The whole restaurant has floor to ceiling windows that overlook the Ohio River and City of Cincinnati. We checked in and headed to grab a drink at the bar. We were seated at the bar and it took 10 minutes to order a drink despite there being 4 bartenders and 12 bar seats. Once the head bartender, Alice, realized we hadn't been served she was quick to help us out and was very friendly. It felt like they were still figuring out the service situation in the bar area. We headed back to get seated at our table. The dining chairs were so spacious and comfortable and our table had a great view. Our server was very attentive. We were quickly poured ice water and put in our appetizer order and 2 glasses of wine. The blue crab cheese dip appetizer was delicious but very rich and almost too much food for 2 people. The complimentary bread service was fantastic. The bread was fresh, warm, and full of flavor. Throughout dinner my water nor wine glass was ever empty. I had the surf and turf sushi and quite simply it was the best sushi I have ever had. Everything was so fresh. My husband ordered the 8oz. Filet and creamy mashed potatoes. The steak was cooked perfectly and one of the most tender filets he has had in Cincinnati. The mashed potatoes were the best steak compliment side dish he has ever had. I dare say he said his dinner rivaled a steak dinner at Jeff Ruby's. It was my husbands birthday so they brought out complimentary strawberry cheesecake with a candle which was a nice touch. Went here on New Year's Eve with some friends. Felt that the prices (comparable to Rubys) were high compared to quality of food and service. The ambiance is fantastic and the view is stunning. What a warm welcome we received! We were greeted and helped into the private elevator that took us up into the elegant and cozy dining room. The entire vibe was on point. We started with the tuna tartare & spinach crab dip which was a great start to our meal. Our server Darius took good care of us and walked us though their menu. First beautiful view and interior! Really nice ambiance. Great wine list with many interesting options at a variety of prices. The cocktails were well executed too. We got the porterhouse medium rare and it was cooked perfectly with nice but not overwhelming seasoning and carved perfect. We loved the mushroom and bacon side -- thinly sliced mushrooms in a bit of clear broth. The crab spinach dish starter was also really good but rich so you may need to consider in your overall order. Both our salads were great and all you need is a small if you get an appetizer and main dish. Excited to try Wellington and filet next time. The bar/happy hour menu looked fun too. Great service to top it off. Definitely recommend it and as a side benefit easy access/parking compared to many other local steakhouses. I definitely want to go back for steak. Really beautiful atmosphere, but it is small so make reservations! The bar area is open seating and they have happy hour specials from 4:30-6:00. We had a few appetizers Spicy California roll (actually really flavorful and only $5) Spider roll (soft shell crab... yummy and mild flavor) Tuna tacos (too much shell for the amount of filling and needed more sauce to brighten up the flavor. This might work better if the shell was more like a cracker and the ahi was on top instead of stuffed into it) Waygu hotdog (this tasted just like a Costco hotdog... which is delicious! It is wrapped in puff pastry and served with a yummy truffle Dijon mustard) $9 house wines and $6 house liquor which can be used to make any cocktail you want. They said their rooftop won't be operational until 2024 but that will be awesome when it's open. read more

Just because food is expensive doesn't mean it's good!! And this place is full proof of that!! Chairs are big heavy and too close together. Once everyone sits down you are trapped. The so called wagyu was fatty an chewy. One of our parties meal showed up with the wrong steak. They did take it back but didn't even give him a plate so he could eat sides while he waited. Tonight we celebrated our 27th anniversary at Mrbl. There's a ton to love about this new spot near Cincinnati. First, the food is amazing. We both ordered the bone-in filet. Our steaks were prepared perfectly and were extremely tender and full of flavor. We are big fans of Jeff Ruby's but this was honestly on par. We started the evening with delicious cocktails. I ordered the Newport Smoked Old Fashion, and she ordered the Lychee Pomatini. We followed drinks with the Blue Crab Spinach dip appetizer. Again, extremely good. Our server was knowledgeable, attentive and quite professional. The atmosphere is elegant and includes an incredible view of the Cincinnati skyline. I didn't try the spinach dip but I wouldn't get the crispy rice, it as good but just so much rice. Shrimp was good, lamb was good & unique, and LOVED the shark bite sushi roll. Really, really good and highly recommend. Then I got the MRBL salad which was good. Dressing on the side and didn't even touch it. Then the Broadway Filet. This was good and a nice change from just a standard filet but I was expecting more lobster. It was good, would probably just get a 8oz filet next time. The scene is set and the bar high upon entering the building via a full glass window elevator overlooking the greater Cincinnati area and river. Very very London in style. I was then greeted by the hostess team -- polite, polished, well dressed and professional. Now: Onto the Big Bang of things. My view was otherworldly. My reservation was at 7. The shades are low and set on a timer, lifting just at sunset. The drama is unreal and truly sets the tone for an evening you never want to end! The live music was a beautiful touch and only added to an already beautiful scene. I began with a FILTHY martini -- blue cheese olives of course. It could've been dirtier, but was delicious nonetheless. There sushi menu is well designed and enticing, featuring classic rolls and specialty rolls that honestly I'd never seen before. I was apprehensive, as I don't usually enjoy the extra flare of sushi and tend to prefer simple, clean and classic rolls. I ordered a Specialty Roll -- The Lobster one -- at my incredible server's suggestion (MAJOR SHOUTOUT TO MILES! He truly took the cake and reminded me of the exquisite 5-star dining experience you receive in some of the best NYC restaurants). Back to the food-- MRBL shocked me. The roll was freaking incredible. I paired it with a glass of Chandon -- $24/glass which I didn't find to be too outrageous at all. Up next: The filet with their MRBL sauce -- which had mushroom and I believe onion in it. Cooked medium. I devoured it. The sauce was so flavorful but without overpowering the steak itself which was cooked to PERFECTION with a beautiful sear that provided a delicate crunch. I paired that with their Nebbiolo by the glass (Vajra). I closed the evening with water of course to sober up a bit and a beautiful cheesecake for dessert. The gorgeous view of the city, the water, and the music only elevated what was already an incredible dining experience. This is a place where you create memories. Highly recommend! You do need to find the elevator with the green awning (Upper parking level). Once you step inside, you are transformed into a beautiful and modern place. Everyone was very kind and gave five star service. We ordered the crab cake and dragon roll for appetizers and OMG! They created a new mahi mahi dish with a pesto made with goat cheese. Amazing. I would have liked my fish not as well done, but the celery root and edamame purée was delicious. The chef actually came out to our table and I saw he visited other tables as well.
