Mr West Sandwich with an Autumn salad
Marielle J.

Still an amazing spot! They're offering lunch combos for $17! You get a choice of half a sandwich, half a salad or soup and a cookie/ beverage. Loved the Mr West sandwich! The people here are so friendly :)

Grilled cheese, tomato soup, maple toffee latte
Amber N.

The grilled cheese and tomato soup were great. The latte was disappointing; it was supposed to be maple toffee flavored but it just tasted plain.

I absolutely love their root beer cream drink which is root beer + 2 shots of espresso and then cold foam on top. It wasn't on their printed menu display, but when I went over to the self-order kiosk, I was relieved to see it was available to order on there. They have that kiosk for people who just want to pick up a drink and leave, which was really convenient since there was definitely a small line for ordering with the barista. You can also preorder online as well. Plenty of seating, it was a cute space, and I think there's extra seating to the side of the main cafe as well, which is nice. I personally haven't tried their cocktails and other drinks, but some of my friends have and they loved those as well.

Turkish Eggs and Seattle Fog
Lissa L.

This case has a good variety of food and beverage options and is really centrally located to a lot of hotels. I had the Turkish Eggs and a Seattle Fog, both were good! The service was good too, all the staff was friendly. The ambiance is casual. I walked to it so I don't know if there were any parking options. Good for a good breakfast that doesn't feel too heavy and still feels filling!

I've been here twice and had wildly different experiences each time. The first time was a Saturday. A google review erroneously said dogs were allowed in the shop, so I stopped by on my pups morning walk, hoping to pop in quickly and continue on our walk with my drink. When I saw the sign on the door saying no dogs, I opted to do a mobile order and wait on the porch. The projected time for my drink was over 30 minutes (CRAZY) but there weren't a whole lot of people inside, so I figured there was no way a matcha latte could take that long. ...Boy was I wrong! I hovered outside on the porch for about 20/25 minutes, keeping close track of the comings and goings, who was arrived around the and time as me and was still waiting, who was still watching their phone intently. Eventually, I went back inside and just made sure my pup sat still while I waited. At 30 minutes, I checked in and was told my drink was coming up "soon". It ended up taking nearly 40 minutes to get my drink. It was good, but not good enough to wait that long again. The second time was on a Friday afternoon. I went to Arrowhead right across the street, but they were sadly out of matcha. I REALLY wanted one, so we went here. My partner and I walked right up to the counter, ordered our drinks and got them almost immediately. The barista was deep in conversation w another worker and I feel like she just threw the drinks together so she could get back to yapping. Needless to say, both were absolutely disgusting. 99% milk with 1% matcha. The drink was barely even green. I definitely won't be back.

We dined in on a Saturday morning around 10 AM and there was a line. It moved fairly quickly though. The inside is beautiful with plenty of seating and natural light from all the windows. The staff were super friendly and gave great suggestions. The food was delicious! Very fresh and not over seasoned. One of us got the salted honey lavender latte and didn't care too much for it. The lavender was very overpowering.

Large interior, beautiful space with plenty of seating. We came on a Sunday morning and it was practically empty. The Seattle Fog was PERFECT! The brioche sandwich was DELICIOUS. Would definitely recommend this spot if you're looking for a great meet up spot with a light, healthy breakfast.

Great place in downtown. Always has a pleasant vibe to the shop. Food is a bit pricey, but they make it up with good coffee and quick service. Highly recommend going there with coworkers during the day or whenever you're near by

Food and wine menu - April 2025

I visited Mr. West 3 times during a work trip- the coffee was that good! The line can get pretty long, so best to order online ahead if you're in a time crunch. My fave drink was the seasonal harvest oatchatta , which is an oatmilk latte with seasonal flavors. The current flavor was pear & cinnamon and I found it to be so very delicious when paired with espresso. A friend ordered the maple toffee latte and it was delicious as well. Neither drink was too sweet or tasted artificially flavored. 10/10 phenomenal coffee! In addition to coffee, Mr. West serves a variety of sandwiches, soup, salad, pastries, and breakfast items. The interior is roomy with a lot of seating space. They also have wine and beer for those wanting alcohol, and a nice happy hour. There are gluten-free and vegan options on the menu, and nondairy milk for coffee drinks. Overall, lots of options and high quality food and drink. I wish I had a spot like this close to me!

Breakfast sandwich

Amazing coffee drinks, food, and service. The best avocado toast we've ever had. A bit pricey, but great quality ingredients and super tasty. The breakfast sandwich was solid with the avocado spread addition. Definitely worth a visit.

Shakerato

Cute shop with good coffee and great service ! It's not just a cafe but also a COFFEE SHOP with SPECIALTY drinks and very cute interior. Good for a cute DATE or STUDYING ! Great unsweetened MATCHA with LARGE 16oz size option and almond milk or oat milk for alternative milk options. The SHAKERATO was also unique and served in a cute lil class with a lemon peel! Fancy fancy! Don't sleep on the BREAKFAST SANDWICH it is quite delicious. The egg has a bit of a soufflé consistency with great flavorful sauce and buttery bread! I would add bacon next time. Worth a visit if you are in the area ! Rating is too low in my opinion! I came twice already since being in the hotel next door.

Mr. West kept me fed and caffeinated during my time in Seattle. Delightfully so. I was staying at a hotel on the next block and visited Mr. West twice for breakfast and once for lunch. The vanilla lattes were delicious and I equally enjoyed the brioche breakfast sandwich, shakshuka, and cinnamon apple pull apart tart. For lunch I tried the turkey club sandwich and wish I wouldn't haven't added the guacamole spread because it wasn't needed. I was able to get some work done for a couple hours and appreciated that the seating was comfortable and the WiFi was strong. In the afternoon, there's a bit of a happy hour vibe (aka, a table of folks drinking wine and cackling) which made working on my laptop impossible. Just a heads up if you're expecting the full coffee shop vibe at all hours of the day.

Mila A.

Coffee is hit or miss depending on the monthly special. They used have the best tahini Blondie, they no longer bake it unfortunately. Macrina pastries they carry now you could find at any cafe, people are not a fan of them. It's always good to have something unique. Shakshuka is delicious (add chicken). Turkish bkfst is so good. Their new avocado toast #2 is yummy with bacon added. They original avocado toast I do not like due to the curried flavor. Mint lemonade in the summer is a must.

We also shared the combo silog which was a great way to sample more of the menu. I enjoyed the garlic rice and ilocos especially. The diner feels so cozy and homey - old photos of the owner and customers and magnets his guests left are a nice touch. Friendly and attentive service despite the busyness.

You order at the front before being seated which means food arrives shortly after sitting down. With that noted, I wouldn't return to wait that long. First visit, to try a relatively famous spot, sure. Inside is a bit tight, but conversation can be had. My friends got the lumpia-silog and bistek-silog. Lumpia was tasty, but not particularly outstanding. Bistek was dry. The beef was tough to chew, seasoned alright on the outside but likely overcooked if not old. I opted for the oxtail silog which was delicious but pricey. Oxtail Silog - for $29, this plate definitely gets a double take. After waiting in the hour line, I figured I should commit for a tasty meal. Oxtail comes in a side bowl alongside a bit of hearty broth which the rice absorbs well. Meat is tender, falls off the bone, but pulling around oxtail bones isn't the simplest, so definitely have to bite around crevices. All in all, this plate was delicious but think it comes with a huge tourist tax I've had better value for oxtail plates. Ube Pancake Stack - four sizeable pancakes. Some pictures, including my own, don't do these justice. I can definitely get behind the hype. They're drenched in a rich ube sauce and there's plenty to go around. Honestly the ube flavor is present on the pancakes, but it feels relatively faint because the sauce is extremely sweet and flavorful, minimizing the pancake taste and expanding the gap between flavors. That being said, I think I would enjoy the pancakes with less sauce (or preferably, on the side).

What a secret gem of a place! Just tucked in from a bustling Denny street!…read more We started out with some cappuccino and iced latte, and they were lovely. They served the coffees with a little shortbread cookie, and these little details really elevated the whole experience. Also, the cappuccino was so foamy, and it hit the spot immediately. The breakfast menu was also fantastic. The TPC Breakfast plate included sausage, potatoes, bacon, bread, and some scrambled eggs. There also was an option to add Beecher's cheese on the eggs, and I'd say it was totally worth it. Most importantly, the Dutch baby was as good as they'd advertised. It comes out on a piping hot skillet which kept the dessert warm till the end of the meal. The service was very quick even though they were entirely booked out for the time we were there for. I appreciated the patience from the servers and their helpful directions in picking the menu items. I will warn you that we had to reserve our spot months in advance. This is probably because the restaurant is great but pretty limited in seating space. However, it was definitely worth the wait, so don't be discouraged. I highly recommend trying it out at least once. All in all, highly recommend! Please go try Tilikum Place Cafe!

Overall, it's worth a visit - just make a reservation and come for the Dutch babies. I was told there are seasonal Dutch babies so try again sometime in June maybe.
