I didn't have much hope as everywhere I took it told me it would be extremely costly and I should chunk it. This car had been great to me and I knew she had a lot of life left in her. Mike and Mike's was recommened to be by a coworker as he noted they specialized in diesel engines and had used them repeatedly. The cost was very resonable and the car was up and running like she did for more in no time. It's like a new car (knock wood). Great customer service, very comunicative and friendly. I highly recommend.

I brought my 2005 Mercedes here for an oil change based upon a friend's recommendation. They did a…read morefine job, so a few months later when the coolant light was on and the car was in limp mode, I didn't hesitate to call Mike and Mikes to do the job. I got the car towed 30 min from homewood just to use them. I also had purchased brake pads and rotors for the car and placed them in the trunk for them to put on. They originally quoted me an outrageous price to put the brakes on. When I explained that I was providing the parts, and I would just take it elsewhere, they went down (a little). I was mainly focused on diagnosing the reason why the vehicle was in limp mode and finding the coolant leak (I had been topping off the coolant for months). They called me and said the diagnostic was a thermostat housing, and also said I purchased the wrong size front brake pads, and I will have to pay them for the parts for the correct pads. Fine. I did. They said they would return my pads that were the wrong size and place them in the trunk (they didn't give them back and they aren't in the trunk). They then told me the car was in limp mode because there is an alternator problem. We called the shop that had just repaired the alternator a year ago (it was still in the warranty timeframe) together, and decided on a plan that the other shop would come and pick up the alternator and repair it and deliver it back. I received a call after the brakes and thermostat housing was replaced saying they had no room for my car, and that I would have to drive it myself or pay for a tow to the alternator shop. This is wild after I had just paid them $1000 for a thermostat housing and brake and rotor replacement. The alternator shop was in disbelief that Mike and Mike's asked me to do this, and told me specifically not to drive it over 40mph, do not use any electronics (no radio or headlights, no a/c) and keep it slow and steady. This was a long drive at 6am from Pelham to downtown Birmingham on Highway 31 in the RAIN. Once at the alternator shop, they checked the car, and laughed, "that's an old code from when the alternator was originally repaired, your car is fine". It's been month since I've gotten my vehicle back. The coolant reservoir is completely empty and the leak wasn't repaired like I was told. I am SUPER Disappointed with the quality of work (or lack there of). They seem to try to nickel and dime me a lot, and I am not down for that. For a woman, I have a pretty good basic knowledge of vehicles. I have only driven the car 4 times since I got it back. I will be taking my dollars elsewhere.

It never feels good to complain about a small family business, especially one with nice people…read more Cahaba Tire checks those boxes of kindness and being a local business. While Cahaba tire may be a great spot for tires (cannot comment on that), it struggles for more complicated diagnostics. In this case, brought in the car with a set of lights blinking on the dashboard and reduced braking capacity. A simple google search or a question to AI would have immediately pinpointed even a novice to the fact that this was an issue with the brake booster, simply based on the codes. Yet, the crew here immediately jumped to diagnosis of a faulty battery with great confidence. After inquiring if it could be the brake booster (as I already searched the codes myself), they assured that it's not. Well, "mechanics know best", so I thought. Who am I to argue with them. Thus, paid for the battery, got it replaced and sure enough, all the lights came back on after half an hour of driving. Bringing the car back to them, they acknowledged the misdiagnosis, yet said they cannot fix the issue with the brake booster and it needs to be taken to a specialized shop. However, they did not offer to comp any part of the initial repair cost to replace a battery that wasn't the problem at hand, which would have been a reasonable thing to do from a customer service standpoint. In other words, owning up to their own mistakes and that they wasted a whole day for the customer. Sadly, that did not happen. While everyone was very kind and appeared genuine, the result as a customer is a wasted day without result at a mechanic shop due to overconfidence of the team here and a cost of a battery that potentially did not need to be incurred that day (which there is no way to know for certain now).

Being…read morethere already, I asked if they could replace the O2 sensor under the car that I had previously purchased. I was charged $145.00 to unscrew and replace a simple part. It is a basic task requiring no longer than five minutes. I paid the extreme amount anyway and left. A mile from the shop, the hubcap flew off and passed the car. After retrieving it from the ditch, it was plain to see that someone had busted it. Additionally, the rear hubcap is also broken. After being sufficiently fleeced by the labor cost, an additional cost of thirty-five dollars was necessary to replace the hubcaps they destroyed. I will never patronize them again, and I cannot recommend their services.

They also ruined my mother's truck by putting a wrong wheel bearing on I've paid them thousands of dollars and they don't stand by there work. I would not go here if you want your vehicle safe for your family. I really hope you see this edit. I do not have bent rims I had some dirt on a 4x4 no worse than a regular everyday driver like the Jeep that was being worked on at the same time as mine. I just told you the issues you where having, no need to call and be extremely disrespectful, I had lugs falling off by the time I got half way home and couldn't have been more respectful about the situation, so I do not understand. I'm de rimming these tires now to see how bad they are like you mechanic claims and to see how bad my rims are bent by your claims That are very suspect I don't even have curb rash. Goodyear would probably like you to have integrity with your work using there label and all. I see that you started responding to bad reviews from two years ago weird but I digress, as you can see very minimal dirt on my rock driveway. I find it very odd to blame some dirt for the poor work that was done to my vehicle. also I drive a very long long way for your "work" sure there's some dirt along the hour trip (4x4 BTW) but whatever for some reason nobody I know can see my review.... odd but whatever. also put wrong oil in my crv said nothing about it because it was cheap and it got me home so I could fix Goodyear's mistake..... AGAIN P.S turned away 3 paying customers because they are not able to do ball joints or Tie rods because only one gentleman can do it I feel bad for him. cannot post my pic here check google review of mine and you will see the small amount of dirt that will void your warranty. I believe they are taking down reviews.

I told him he should be able to look it up in his system that I bought it there. He said he could (and did) and verified the information but they had gotten a new system and they lost some information and the serial number would've been on the paper receipt and they wouldn't honor it without that. He then lectured me about not having the receipt but told me to bring the car in and he would work with me. When I did, he just repeated what he said over the phone. A second employee came out and said "it's common fuckin' sense lady to keep the receipt." I asked the "manager" if he was going to let his employees cuss at me and he said "he didn't cuss at you." I told him it wasn't my fault they got a new system and they can no longer see the information they needed for them that they can typically see. He said it wasn't his fault I lost the receipt. A woman who said SHE WAS ACTUALLY THE MANAGER came out of the store and told me to get off the property. She did this in my face UNMASKED (I was masked). Then said I wasn't allowed back there. I said "you don't even know what is going on. Your employees are cussing at me." She said "no they aren't." I said "You haven't even been out here with us. How do you know?" She said told me to get off the property or she would call the police. Total scam. Goodyear will not honor anything this store tells you they will. The customer service number they give to call...Goodyear. Goodyear flat out told me they tell customers that so they don't have to deal with it. CONARTISTS.

My parents told them to go ahead and fix it, once the truck was back it sat for about a month until i drove it. I knew the front rotors were warped before they took it in for service and I was a surprised to find out that the rotors were still warped, even after they supposedly did a brake job. I checked the invoice and realized that the tech quoted a pad slap (front and rear) and didn't recommend replacing or even resurfacing the rotors. I also checked the old brake pads and found that they still had 4 to 5 mm of material left and were not in immediate need of replacement. I was expecting to look at the invoice and see a proper brake job that at least included turning the rotors. As a technician myself I'm extremely disappointed in the service we received, i expected better service and communication.
