I visited Mr. Tea with a friend who loves milk tea. I dont really care for the stuff but I didn't find anything I really enjoyed. Sometimes I can find fruity drinks that I can enjoy even though I do not drink coffee, but I ended up drinking tea that was ok. I did however order pudding on the side (that usually ends up inside the drinks) and I did enjoy that. I just wish they would have a wider selection of drinks, and snacks/food because I don't eat macaroons either. Oh well. If you the milk tea kinda person this place is for you. PS. I did get lost in the parking lot and locked out on the floor. They should make the entrance and parking area more clearly defined. read more

My friend and I's go to bubble tea place whenever we want to hang out & catch up late at night since they do close at midnight. Located in the corner of Ward & Kapiolani Blvd., this place is pretty easy to find. They do have free parking in the structure but it's pretty limited considering they share the same parking with other businesses. But there's also street parking in the back (but I think it's meter parking). They have varieties of different milk teas, smoothies, coffee & other drinks. They also have a lot of choices of toppings to add in your drink like custard, different jellies, ice cream, & of course boba & many more. But it costs extra for each one that you add. They also serve some sandwiches & macarons. First time I came here, I ordered regular sized black milk tea with boba & custard & it was only $4! I thought it was cheap compare to other bubble tea places I've tried. I also tried their taro milk tea which is supposed to be one of their best sellers. I thought it was just okay. My boyfriend got the wintermelon milk tea & he loved it. Last time I went, I got the thai milk tea & it is my most fave so far. I have yet to try the other flavors. There are just too many! They have a stamp card so you get one free drink after 10 stamps :) Though this place is quite small, they do have chairs & tables right outside. I will definitely be back here again! read more

Every order I've placed has been made on time with no mistakes what so ever. You name it the topping, sweetest and sizing of the large was all accurately written down and made to perfection! What else could you ask for? When you go to their Ala Moana location you will receive the best customer service and assistance a cafe shop can offer. With such a variety of drinks to order from the workers themselves will ask you politely on your preference and suggest a drink to your liking. The owner is a caring man and always puts the customer first. If there is any disliking to your drink he will make the effort in fixing your drink. Mr. Tea Café is located on the corner of Kapiolani and Ward, right next door to Greens & Vines. While their menu is limited compared to other boba places, they produce high quality drinks. Their tapioca and custard is especially well flavored - not bland like some of the others I've tried. As far as ambiance goes, it's pretty warm and hipster. Almost French inspired. There are succulent terrariums and local art sporadically located throughout the café, which makes it cozy in my opinion. I think it's a perfect study spot for college students. Oh, and aside from boba, they serve macarons, sandwiches, and madeleines. Parking is somewhat limited. Entrance to the parking structure is on Kapiolani Blvd. As soon as you enter the structure, take a right and try your luck at parking in this area first. It's closest to Mr. Tea's back entrance. This is the most hipster and cleanest tea place ever! They have an automatic tea shaker which I thought was cool and no other place on the island has that I don't think. The tea was not too heavy, powdery or watery like the other places. I've only tried their milk tea with azuki beans and boba and it was yummy. Balls were perfectly chewy although I wish it had flavor like the ones at coffee or tea. I can see myself going back for the milk tea if I was in the area. I've only tried a few things here, but I'd recommend the milk tea - oolong, half sweet with boba. (This was actually recommended to me by staff.) I think this place has the best tasting boba I've ever had. Sweetened just right and made perfectly to its tender chewiness. Only downside is they only have the regular/large boba, no small ones. They have the powdered stuff which I haven't tried, but the milk tea is pretty legit. Parking? Not sure, I always walk here from work. There are a bunch of parking lots around (some free) but for other stores, so just be wary. Good amount of seating inside and out. Young staff, usually friendly and helpful. Prices are a little strong for the size of the drinks, but may be location that's driving the price. read more

I think I've found a new favorite boba place. I tried their black tea milk tea and it was great! :) If you like bubble tea with a stronger tea flavor instead of the sweetness and milk overload that some other bubble tea places do, then this place is for you. The tapioca balls are softer and sweeter than some other boba places I've tried as well, which is a plus for me. The staff there was really nice and friendly. The girl that was working even brought my friends and I our drinks to our table. We went during midday and the shop was really empty, but it did pick up and get crowded when we were leaving. The mustache concept is adorable & very selfie/instagram worthy haha. My friends and I noticed that they had taro powder on their shelves, so we asked the staff about it and they said they might add taro to their menu later on. I'll definitely be back and hopefully they add more flavors to their menu for customers to try, so I can fill up my stamp card. read more

I just subscribed to the Milk Tea movement, craze, madness, insert however you want to describe it here! Mr Tea Cafe has epic boba and really phenomenal Milk Tea. I had a fruit tea hybrid suggestion that was really refreshing as well. Use the drink card as well and get the free one once you fill it the card up! They also serve food including sandwiches and macarons but I'll probably pass there. They look good but I'm all about that tea when I head to this type of joint! The location is pretty prime, I usually walk so I'm not sure about parking but there is a good amount of seating and the joint has a sheek geek decor about that that is very welcoming. Was walking down ward from Blaisdell when I happened to see the shop. Love the logo and of course needed to try the new place. It's around the corner from Greens & Vines Raw Vegan Gourmet, facing Ward Ave. I think there's limited parking in the building. They were having their soft opening so limited selection for milk tea, tea, and smoothies. Price for a regular drink start at $3.50. I got the black milk tea with boba. Overall, I liked that it was not overly sweet and I got the tea flavor. The boba was ok, good consistency between soft and firm, and I don't think much sugar was added to it. Overall my black milk tea with boba was ok, don't see much difference with other places. Will start with 3 stars and come back to try other flavors and to better evaluate them. read more

2nd time here. My girlfriend got the jasmine green milk tea w/ boba and I got the matcha green milk tea w/ boba. She thought her drink was yummy to her tummy! Mine was pretty good, just a little too sweet. Parking is very convenient and prices are decent. We will come back again and hopefully try those delicious looking macaroons. read more

This place is adorable & convenient as I work a block away from here. The plain milk tea is alright, there are so many others to compare it to that it falls a bit short. It's not the worst but not THE BEST. The logo is cute, atmosphere is comfortable and fits right in with the Kaka'ako community. My fave is Matcha with Azuki, it adds a little something sweet. Cute little boba place. Parking can be a little messy depending on when you go, but luckily this place is open late. Service is consistently friendly, and I've always had chewy, properly-prepared boba whenever I come here (I'm not big on al dente boba that's commonplace with some other places on the island). You can customize the level of sweetness, and they also offer almond milk as an alternative to dairy milk. Menu is a bit small compared to most tea places, which can be a good thing or a bad thing, depending if you like to explore the whole menu or if you usually stick to one or two items like me. Also they sell hydro flasks with their mustache logo! P.S. Try the matcha milk tea! It actually (gasp) tastes like matcha. Might want to go with 75% sweetness for that one though. read more

I know, I know it sounds a little weird but I tried their taro with coffee jelly milk tea the first time we came and loved it. You might not like the texture but it tasted pretty damn good together! Love how late their open so I can get a sweet fix but parking isn't the best since there's only a few stalls available. I'm a fan of their macaroons not so chewy where it gets stuck in your teeth. Lets start with what I usually order... I usually order thai ice tea with custard and boba. This is my go to drink when I come to this place. The second drink that I usually order is taro with custard with boba. There are many variations that you can order and tons of combinations. Next time i will try to order my drink with ice cream. It should be interesting. I also like the fact that I can order drinks that vary sweetness and so that it won't overpower the flavor combinations that i order. I usually get about 75% sweetness. There are also croissanwiches that you can order and for those who have a sweet tooth, you can order macaroons. Theres different flavors to choose in the case. The location is okay. My only complaint is the parking situation. I have to let you know that you will have to try to find street parking if the building that is located in doesn't have enough parking spaces for the customers. The building only has 10 parking spots and they are labeled customers so its a must to find street parking on Kapiolani if its a busy day or night! Lastly, the inside is tiny but its cool. Enough tables for customers and you can do homework here if you want. Most of the time thats what I see when i come here. There's art work on the wall and i do like the logo of this company. I like that its a mustache! There are seats and tables outside of the store and so if its a nice day, i recommend that you should seat outside. Oh, don't forget to get your stamp card! Honestly, I love Mr. Tea. I find that their boba is better than any other on the Island. They have so much tasty options, and it is so hard to decide. I normally just get the taro milk tea because it is just so good! I like it way more than the Taste Tea's one. I love my milk teas, and this place has become my favorite place of all. I love thier teas, it seems to be the best in town, they also have a range of toppings to go with their teas and blended drinks. They have sweet service along with their clean and relaxed atmosphere. Wich is nice if you want to sit in and read your book or what not. What i like the most is you can call in your orders to go. And for someone who is always on the go, it just makes life easier. They do not have a big parkinglot, but is very convenient with parking entrance on both kapiolani and Waimanu. This is currently my new favorite milk tea place! I liked Coffee or Tea before, but due to their lack of flavors and toppings this place has become my new obsession! As of right now my favorites would have to be the lychee smoothie w/ boba, Lilikoi smoothie w/ lychee jelly, and taro milk tea w/ ice cream + boba. One warning I have is their milk tea when at 100% sweetness is pretty sweet compared to other places, but the great thing is you can customize it! Also, they have SO MANY CHOICES FOR TOPPINGS. I started noticing that the boba aren't as consistent. They seem to clump up, which makes it hard to chew and sip through the straw. I noticed this problem when they had their soft opening.
