Bland and soggy pizza! I recently ordered a Vito pizza which is a pepperoni and garlic pie. I was told it would take close to an hour before I could pick it up. When I went in to pick it up the girls told me it was a slow night. So I'm not sure why it took so long to make. The pizza crust was very fluffy and soggy. Pepperoni had no flavor at all. All I tasted was the garlic which I think ruined the pizza. This pizza had everything going wrong for it. I am going to look elsewhere now that other shops are starting to open up in the area. Mr. P's has amazing food. The pizza is delicious as well as the subs. However, they have crazy hours! Tonight we walked in the restaurant at 7:45 and were told , "We are closed and not seating people now!" The red neon sign in the window says "Open"! What other restaurant does this? CASH ONLY! Now that I got that inconvenient tidbit out of the way, why do you want to go to Mr. P's? Everyone knows about the pizza. It's very good. Fresh ingredients, lots of cheese, and crispy crust born of the wood fired oven. I would prefer my crust to be a little flatter, as it reminds me a little of Colorado mountain pizza in terms of the size of the crust. The wings were a very pleasant surprise. Most pizzerias will include it on their menu as an afterthought. And though they were pricey ($7 for 5 and $13 for 10), they were large, well cooked, and quite tasty! It was a good complement to the pizza. The restaurant is crowded, reviews talk about long wait times, but it's worth giving it a shot. On a summer Tuesday night at 6pm, we were able to be seated right away and our whole dining experience lasted about 1.5 hours, so the waiting wasn't unbearable. Don't waste your money and go here. Ordered mozzarella sticks and two sticks didn't have any cheese (they did take it off the bill). The baked pasta was spaghetti which was over cooked...how about ziti or rigatoni instead? I got my meal 20 minutes before my partner got his calzone. They are known for pizza and their pizza doesn't disappoint. We ordered a medium shrimp with presto and was surprised how large it was. Plenty for 2 hunfry adults. We also ordered a greek salad which was fresh and a good portion. The vegetable pasta was good but our least favorite of the 3 items we ordered. I can tell you from watching the operation and the pizzas coming in and out of the oven that this is going to be a fantastic pizza experience! I called at 5 PM on a Friday and they said the takeout wait was until 7:10 PM. I ordered what I wanted and showed up at seven on the dot, my pizza was in my hands piping hot fresh out of the woodfired oven at 7:10 exactly. The prep cook who was working the pizza line along side the guy boxing and cutting the pizzas was absolutely amazing to watch, the workflow and the attention to timing in detail was spot on. The food here is good and tastes fresh. It came out really hot and pretty quick to. Overall I had no problems with the food. This is a cash only place as well. Biggest issue was the service. When we first came through the door, we weren't greeted. I'd heard the place was good, so I let it go, and they were clearly busy. When attention was finally paid to us, we asked to sit at the bar (was the only place to sit since seating is limited). The cashier scoffed at us and said to another person in my party that you have to be 21. The lady in my party is clearly older than that (she is a grandparent)(also the cashier couldn't have been older than 16 or 18 herself) The comment bothered me because of the attitude and it being about me but delivered to someone else. I look young because I am, but if you want to see my ID just ask, don't act like it's an inconvenience. Then when the lady in my group jokingly said "I haven't been 21 in a few years," the cashier scoffed again and said well is he (point at me but looking at my group member) The server at the bar really didn't talk to us and seemed more interested in talking sports with another customer there. He didn't even ask for my ID but I volunteered it anyway after the exchange with the cashier. He was somewhat attentive to drinks and asked maybe once if everything was good, still somewhat treated like we were an inconvenience. Overall the pizza and mozzarella sticks were really good, but service just needs a boost. Had the service been better probably would have gotten 4 stars from me, but really not higher than that. With all the other places around Rehoboth and Lewes, I'd rather go somewhere the staff seems to care that we are there and can put down their cell phones while working. Our favorite go to pizza place is Crust & Craft, but tonight we figured we would provide some business to another establishment during these difficult covid times. I called Mr. P to order a pizza, and CJ answered the phone. He let me know they are not taking anymore pizza orders for the night. I responded by asking, "you are out of dough?" Overall, this spot was convenient, less expensive, and sustained life. The alfredo had far too much pepper and the cheese in the ravioli was a bit bland. Would have been nice if they made it more obvious they were cash only before arriving, but they take the atm fee off your total when you withdraw money there. Mr. P's has been our family and friends favorite pizza place in Lewes. The wood fired oven produces great pizza and always a great staff. Recently we ordered takeout to be greeted with a "No Mask - No Vax - no problem" sign on the front door. Why would any older persons, those with children, immuno comprised persons subject them selves to an open non masked small space that welcomes non covid vaccinated persons. The pizza here is phenomenal. My family sampled the fungi, Margherita, chèvre artichoke, and spinach. They were all delicious. And we had to order an additional Margherita to satisfy the kids. My wife and I went on a Monday night and were seated very promptly and we were waited on promptly. We decided to get a large pizza half Margarita and half white pie shrimp and pesto. I also got a beer called the sorry sour chicken. It was fantastic. The pizza was also amazing because the crust was perfectly moist and chewy on the inside, light and crispy on the outside. The red sauce was homemade tasting the shrimp and pasta was a perfect combination of spices. The most mozzarella cheese was also very low moisture and tasty. We were delighted with every aspect of the meal. Our waiter, CJ, was very attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. Easily the top 10 best pizzas I've ever had in my life (I'm a Philly guy, this means a lot). Mr P's has a completely unique pizza that's like a mixture of Philly style, New York style, and South Jersey style all thrown in together. Their cheese mixture is fantastic, their sauce is flavorful and delicious and their crust is mind blowing. Add to the fact that they have a fantastic beer list and an amazing staff, I am sold for life. Went for lunch on a rainy Tuesday. There was a takeout/slices line, but we sat at the bar and were treated like royalty. We got a plain pizza (you have to judge a pizzeria by their plain) and a Hawaiian with red sauce. We are relatively new to the area and adjusting to the tourist season. My point is this. If you want a pizza at a particular time, phone in the order before noon. They have limited capacity and you maybe disappointed if you try later in the day. Having said that, my wife and I really enjoy their pizza. Not much of a place to eat in. The wife and I were in the mood for Italian tonight. We did a Yelps search and found this place since it was close and we never ate here before. It's in a strip shopping center. We went inside and were seated. The decor is like early depression. We received fast, courteous service, the good feelings stopped there. The pasta was mediocre at best. The meat balls were hard and over cooked. The marinara sauce was bitter and tart. I think it came from a can. I wanted to pay the check with a credit card and the server told me they only take cash. I was shocked until she explained that they have that requirement posted on the entrance door! They have an ATM if you don't have the cash on hand. Follow up to this: the owner did call and say thanks for sending the check. Still pretended that the suffering single mom with 5 jobs and 10 children (including little Timmy in braces) was the server, when it was some guy. And the attitude (including that he can call my phone in the middle of a workday repeatedly) is more thug-life than hospitality-life. You won't see it clearly displayed on the menu, especially if you suffer from visual limitations as I do, but please be advised that this is a cash-only business. I did not realize this until after the bill arrived. They asked me for my name and number, which I freely provided. Anyone trying to "get away with something" would have provided false information. The owner, who has so far failed to introduce himself, called me a few days after I'd been there. He told me to come back and pay. I informed him I wasn't a local and was no longer in town but would mail him a check. "We don't take out of state checks." Ok so, cash then. He changed his mind and decided I could mail a check. I wrote out a check for 20 dollars, including a 3 dollar tip. I put it in the mail yesterday (had to get stamps). Just now, as I was speaking to an auto mechanic about my brakes, a call comes through. This guy left the most aggressive, vitriolic, and psychotic rambling message. "I've been a cash business for 7 yrs!! I've never had to EXTEND CREDIT like this!! (17 bucks) "I'm holding my server accountable! She's a single mother of three!" Really? Has SHE had a sex change?! My family raves about this pizza place. First time I ordered from here was a few days ago, I called in for an extra large Vito pizza for pick-up. Was told it would be ready in 15-20min. Went in to pay/pick-up and was explained cash only when I pulled out my card, thankfully had cash on hand. I didn't really interact with the staff too much but from the brief experience I had they seemed friendly and professional. Guy on the phone who took my order was cool. Guy who informed me it was cash-only did so without making a deal about it. Main reason I'm giving this place a 5/5 is solely on their pizza. It's a little pricey, but it's damn good pizza. The pizza here is good. Get it to go, but be forewarned that the oven space is limited and must not be that hot because they get backed up and behind a-lot. It is not reliable.
