In addition to my NVRam rescue mission Okta went on (See my Previous Review to read about it)…read more.....I actually came back for more work to be done (a secondary project so to speak) where Okta put in Thermal Grizzly Kryosheet into my laptop (if anyone understands what this is it's actually very electrically conductive and quite risky to attempt doing on your own with a laptop) and to be honest AMAZING job yet again truly great! Okta took the time to place all the precautionary measures within the swap of thermals to protect my Motherboard in full (kapton tape and oil application for the pad) I will be evaluating this for the next couple of days to see if the the temps remain stable but to be honest initial overview of the temps are fantastic! Took my custom build in after a lot of troubleshooting on my own to find out why it wouldn't POST…read more They misdiagnosed my PC's problems, telling me it would've been a $400 CPU replacement, when the actual issue was a faulty motherboard that only cost $80 to resolve on my own. They told me this without actually pulling out my CPU to test it, and claimed that I damaged it by installing my cooler wrong, and there was only a 50/50 chance my processor was still working - I don't know how they could've possibly known that without actually touching the processor at all. When they returned my computer, it was missing the card rail clip, the velcro straps that I use to manage my cables, and the front panel header had been unplugged and rewired incorrectly. This store made an already incredibly stressful situation twice as stressful and last twice as long by giving me wrong information and leaving my computer in a worse state than they received it in.

I will return with the part to let you replace it as my soldering skills were really last used in 1996. I want this to be done correctly, and I trust will happen at Classic Audio Repair. I dealt with Scott, the owner, who had years of experience in cell phone repairs especially with iPhones. After dropping off my iPhone, he required a $25 down payment to diagnosis the problem and afterwards pay the difference if it was repairable when you pick it up. In my case, the total cost was $65 to have the water logged headphone jack cleaned and repaired. He mentioned if the phone was not repairable, I would be charged for the initial $25 to diagnosis the problem. Totally fair. I walked around Newport Avenue to kill an hour and came back to be pleasantly surprised that my phone was operational and paid the additional $40 for the repairs. Scott was quick and reliable which are two traits that are hard to come by now and days. If I ever have any of those "oh snap" moments, I will definitely return back to Uno Wireless to have my phone repaired.

This is nothing like the original Kalamazoo, Lyle transformed it into a little MONSTER This amp now features 2 EL 84 power tubes, and a fender blues jr tranny. The chassis front now has an added power switch, a standby switch, and a fixed bias to cathode bias switch, a treble and bass knob where there used to only be volume and tone. The work done here is exceptionally clean. The original cabinet is one of the smallest 1x10 combos you'll ever see. Imagine the power this little amp now provides with 2 EL 84's. It is now a loud, fat sounding, tone machine. I forgot to mention the cabinet was in poor shape before Lyle even started on the it he repaired the cabinet and covered it in tweed....I couldnt be happier with this build Lyle is highly recommended

I called around to more than a few places you are likely looking at right now on this Yelp page, and they all said something along the lines of "two weeks to a month" before even looking at the amp. I talked to Lyle on the phone for 5 minutes and described the issue (the sound was cutting out/ drowned by static). He wasn't sure if it was something loose in the circuit board or if the amp needed new tubes or what. But he said no matter what it needed, he could take care of it. Less than 24 hours later my amp was working perfectly. And for what I would call an extremely fair price.

So I left. Just downstairs in the same building, was San Diego Jailbreak. I went into a nicer "office" where the owner, Jeff, was very polite and helpful. He quoted me the same price as his competitor, but he actually had the iPhone part I needed. What's cool about Jeff's business is that he has a waiting room, so you don't have to deal with the awkwardness of watching someone fix your phone. Part of the time I was waiting, I sat near his desk to watch some college football on TV and he was even social enough to have some good conversation while he worked. He was able to replace my iPhone camera within 15 minutes and it was as painless as it could possibly be. He did it quick at a fair price of $50. I guess the only thing the other guys had a leg up on, was that they offered me a 6 month warranty on the new camera and San Diego Jailbreak only offered 60 days. So, my piece of mind is a little questionable. Despite that, Jeff seems like the type of guy who would take care of his customers. Also, he's a self proclaimed perfectionist and I can totally see that watching him work. I'll be back here for any phone repairs in the future! 5 stars!
