At that point, we were being confronted by TWO managers, while one of them was literally screaming in my ear to "GET OUT." I was extremely upset and asked why I was being yelled at. Eventually, the host came over and explained to the younger manager that my husband had already checked in properly. Of course, neither manager apologized. Great example of Japanese hospitality, right? After we were finally seated in the reserved area and had already ordered appetizers, my 16yo daughter arrived and was stopped at the host stand and questioned about her age. The younger manager then came over and asked who made the reservation and why someone under 16 was included. My husband calmly showed the reservation confirmation, which did not mention any age restriction, but the manager responded with, "NO, you know!!" My husband then spent another 10 minutes at the host stand, and in the end, we were removed from the reserved area and moved to a table outside. To make matters worse, the final bill included additional charges labeled "20% party room" and "18% large party gratuity." Overall, this was some of the WORST customer service I've ever experienced. You are in the hospitality business -- who screams at paying customers this way? Sorry, but there are plenty of other sushi restaurants that actually treat their customers like fellow human beings. SKIP this place and spend your hard-earned money elsewhere!

They knew I had a reservation and asked if I had preference where I wanted to sit. The servers took time to explain the menu and accommodated the portion sizes because we had an odd number party. When my ramen came, I noticed dried up food on the outside of my bowl, and the ramen (Oni Reaper) was not my favorite. The broth almost tasted cheesy. I also tried the broth of the rich tonkotsu (not pictured) and it lacked flavor. I'll probably give the deep Ellum location a try... eventually.
