I use to always come here but they recently lost my loyalty. I had gotten home from my mission recently and was getting married. In my mission I got very skinny and lost 60 pounds from sickness. When picking out a suit for my marriage I told the sales representative that I wanted to keep the pants a little more loose a that I could grow back into them because I was bound to gain some weight. (I no longer have parasites etc.) I would just wear a belt for the time being. (I only wanted an extra inch or two) the representative started to tell me no and argue with me. Isn't the customer always right?! I knew what I wanted and ended up not getting it even when I asked. Flash forward to a couple months later I've gained about 15 pounds back and my pants don't fit. So I can't wear my suit nor the white temple pants I bought. If he had listened to me this would've been a five star review. I will never recommend this store to anyone nor return here again. read more

Everyone there was to helpful our salesman Jason was the best, he helped me find exactly what I was looking for and got me all fitted making arrangements for me to get the pants altered before our departure back home and arranged for my shirts that I needed short sleeved to be altered and shipped to my home in Nevada. The worst customer service I've ever seen. I walk in after having driven over an hour to get to the store. No a one is in the store with multiple people sitting behind the desk doing nothing. I ask to get my pants re-sized. Without even getting up, your employee says he can't do it because it needs to be dry cleaned first and just told me "Sorry." To me, it looks like he doesn't even want to work. No effort to help. Just sent me back out the door. I'm super pissed. I will never come back to that store and I have three more young men growing up and we would use the store a LOT. I've bought all my suits there and equipped my son for his mission there. I am so mad at such piss poor customer service that I will NEVER spend another dime there and will tell anyone else who asks to use their competitors instead. read more

Terrible tailoring. After my grandson purchased 5 mission suits and I purchased two $700.00 plus wool suits and returning 3 times for correct tailoring my dear wife spent 30 plus hours completing a tailoring job that we paid for to begin with. Not impressed at all. read more

I needed a bow tie for a Yelp event. It was going to be a bother to get by the Brooks Brothers store. Considering the history of Big Mac in my younger days (Swedish knit polyester suits) it took a leap of faith to walk in here. There was several young guys, with their mothers, purchasing inexpensive suits that look like they belong on a budget funeral director. I could see the "Board Room" in the back. It looked promising. As I walked in I saw Robert Talbot ties. That's a good sign. They had some nice bow ties. The customer service was good. I'd probably put that section of the Mr. Mac on my list to look at in the future. My rating may go up more at that point. read more

I had visited the Missionary Mall prior to stepping in Mr Mac. I was interested in the stretch white dress shirt. The guys at Missionary Mall were helping customers, however no acknowledgement of my wife and I in the store. We left and came to Mr Mac. I went to Mr. Mac a few days ago to buy a white collared shirt. The man helping me had convinced me to buy a certain size. After wearing this shirt once, I decided that it didn't fit me properly. Today, I went to exchange the shirt for the right size but was immediately turned away due to a very minor mark on the collar. I attempted to explain my situation but was immediately cut me off and was shown zero sympathy. I have never experienced such a low level of customer service before at any formal apparel store. It amazes me how simple of an exchange this could have been, but they had prioritized such a small profit margin over what could have been a lifetime customer. If you're looking to buy formal apparel, I would recommend any place but Mr. Mac. read more

So, get this! I'm not LDS and I didn't realize that this store markets heavily to missionaries. And, even so, it's open to the public so I wandered on in to the Mr Mac at the University Mall to find a shirt for an interview I had the next day. I wanted to look crisp and professional. I find a shirt that tickles my fancy and, after being measured by a kind employee, go and pay for the shirt. I bring my purchase home and try on the dress shirt. Horrible fit. Not the store or employees fault but still wouldn't do. I chalk it up to making the purchase at the last second and go over to a different retailer and grabbed a shirt that fit me well. The next day I bring my Mr Mac shirt back for a refund. No use crying over spilled milk and ill fitting shirts. This time I didn't have my tattoos covered and they were out for all to see. I received quite a few nasty looks from other customers but such is life as a tattooed man in Utah. I bring the shirt to the counter with my receipt and every little pin that was holding that shirt together in its package. I let the clerk, who later told me he was the manager, know that I tried on the shirt and it didn't fit at all. He wouldn't even make eye contact but continued to steal glances at my tattoos and back to the shirt I was bringing back. He tells me to hold on and disappears with my shirt into the back for a few minutes. I politely and silently wait at the counter for this guy to return. As I wait, I overhear another customer who is returning some clothes as well. FROM TWO YEARS AGO. She lets her clerk know that it was only worn a couple times but she would like to return them and get new clothes because her son is going on a mission. Good for him! The clerk tells the woman that he can return all but one because of a huge stain. I thought that was pretty cool that they allowed her to do that. I'm standing there feeling pretty confident that my return of one day would go through without a hitch. My clerk/manager returns and tells me that he can't do the return because I wore the shirt. I was really taken aback. I let him know that I did try it on because that's how a normal person checks to see if it fits. He tells me that still means I wore it all the while stealing more horrified glances at my tattoos. I start to get angry because how the hell am I to see if something fits without actually putting it on?! He tells me to leave his store and I ask for a manager. He tells me he's the manager so I ask for the number to corporate. He tells me there is no corporate and this store is a franchise. I ask for the contact info for the owner and the clerk/manager/douche canoe tells me that I cannot talk to anyone else. He tells me to leave the store again. I was done at that point and chalked it up to a $60 mistake for shopping there in the first place. The guy tried keeping my shirt! He wouldn't give it back and kept telling me to leave. He finally gave me my shirt when I started raising my voice calling him a thief and threatening police action. I show him the backside of my longest fingers and leave. Two weeks later, my LDS friend says he would try and take it back for me. This friend is clean cut and looks like he may still be on a mission. He took the shirt in and they didn't ask a single question. They did the return with a smile on their faces. Maybe next time, Mr. clerk/manager/douche canoe/thief could try not profiling so obviously. read more

Mediocre prices, and this place always tries to sell you more than you need. They sold us a suit a year ago with the idea that it could be "let out" when the time came. Now it is time for a mission and rather than just letting it out they want to sell us a new suit because he may grow. Ridiculous.That was the whole point of buying a suit they could be let out in the first place. read more

We flew in two days before our two boys needed to report to the MTC with absolutely nothing in tow. They had everything we needed in stock- suits, shirts, shoes, luggage, jacket. They took such good care of our family, taking time to explain to each young man how to fold a suit, hang up pants, rotate shoes, etc. I can't say enough about how wonderful the service was. If you want your suit shopping to feel like car shopping, head on into Mr Mac at University mall. The pressure for the salesman to succeed is through the roof, and they'll try to achieve their goals at your expense. I was very dissatisfied and will never return after being lied to over and over again. Suit and pant quality are very sub-par. You'll find better suits and better customer service at Men's Warehouse out in the parking lot, or even Macy's just down the mall walkway. Give those a try! STAY AWAY! read more

First I just have to say, buy the gold toe socks! I have had them for 6 years (including mission) and they have never gotten holes, lost there strong black color, or decomposed in any way. Seriously a modern marvel considering. As for the store and its outfitting I was not impressed. I thought it was just me, but turns out everyone i talk to had the same issue. They end up throwing all this stuff at you to buy and don't care at all what you are going to look like. My shirts were all VERY baggy and made me look like I was melting. i could hardly keep the shirts tucked into my pants because there was so much shirt. Of course i was already on my mission on the other side of the world so there was nothing I can do about it. The suite was also very baggy and not slim fit at all -i am a slim guy. You would think that after spending $2500 dollars on clothing that they would at least fit you well. You would think they would naturally give slim people fitted shirts, or at least trim fit. Not everyone gains 50 pounds on their mission. The foam sole rock-ports were comfortable but wore out pretty fast. I would recommend ecco's. As long as you don't kneel down with the toes bent, eccos will last you a long time. If you go here just make sure the stuff fits. You can probably find better prices online for most of the things you need. 6PM.com is a pretty good website for buying name brand shoes (like eccos, timberland, and rockports) although its kind of hit or miss. A few years ago my fiancé and I bought a tux here and it was tailored amazingly. Fast forward two years and we came back to buy a wedding tux and two other sport coats. Sam is the best and got us great prices and made sure the suits were tailored correctly for my fiancés unique body type.
