Voice mail greeting is still in Christmas week. Shop was not open at time noted on Yelp. Left a message and did get a response (which is good). And I indicated I would be in around 1 pm. Got there 10 minutes early and shop still closed. I tapped on door and no response. There was a light on in back room. Sat in front of shop for a while and about 5 minutes after door knocking a young lady came out of side door and jumped in her car and drove off. I wanted to talk about getting a straw ordered and a felt for later in year. I will go somewhere else. read more

First time I took a hat in it was fine. He shaped it right there. Second time, a few months later, he had two hats for a month. Most of the time their shop isn't open during posted hours. They didn't return my call. When I finally got my hats they charged more than they had the first time. Won't go back. read more

well I was hoping it didn't have to come to this, but Chandler has really given me no choice. with zero response from him after not one, not two, but three times reaching out to him, ( yes to actually give him more business) I feel compelled to call him out. I have purchased two hats from him since 2018, but I needed to know when the straw hat I had ordered was going to be shipped, nothing nada, zippo. I simply needed to know because things were getting stolen off porches and the fronts of houses in our neighborhood, and wanted to be aware of when it was landing. finally after telling him how unhappy I was in regards to his less than lackluster customer service, he responded to me and the hat was shipped. but apparently since I has the audacity to actually say something to him, he chooses now not to respond to me in regards to purchasing another custom hat from him. truly if any one of us operated a business like he operates his, we would not be in business. cant make it up, so be warned about Tatton Baird and Chandler Scott read more

The epitome of a hipster, poseur modern business. Gorgeous to visit, the shop could be a haberdashery in a Tarantino western. But is there any substance behind the surface? My experience says "no". I took an old family woolen felt cowboy hat for stretching, cleaning, and a hatband. Peon work, I know, but they were in town and I like to keep my business local. Many weeks go by, no hat, I call to check progress and they say it's almost done. Another week passes and I go by to pick it up. It's just as stained and dirty as when I brought it in, but with a nick in the brim that I don't remember it having when I dropped it off. It does have a hatband in it however and it does seem to be somewhat stretched. The look on my face evidently betrayed my discontent when they told me the cost would be $75, so they knocked it down to $60. With the condition it was still in, I paid and left, even though I was just going to throw it away. 3 months pass and my son and I take a trip to Tombstone, where I wear the hat for the first time. In Sierra Vista we spot a large tack shop, rodeo outfitter, western wear shop, very wrangler-working man's sort of place. We walk in to look around and a middle-aged, ex-barrel racer is steaming hats into custom shapes. This gal knows what she is doing, so I ask her to take a look at my hat and she INSTANTLY tells me to stand waay back from her. This is the era before COVID, I wondered what had I done to earn her ostracism? She said she could see my hat had MITES and could infect her other hats and SHE WOULD NOT WORK ON IT. She pointed out the tiny holes caused by the mites and told me to stick it in my freezer for two weeks, then she could clean it and trim the brim easy as pie. I told her another hat shop had just worked on it and supposedly cleaned it. She said, "Shee-it hon, they didn't even try to clean it and if they didn't spot the mite holes, they have no idea what they were doing." Then she handed me a can of Scout light felt hat spray cleaner for $10, told me how to use it and promised me most of the stains that Tatton Baird had supposedly cleaned would come out. Two weeks of hat freezing later, I used the Scout cleaner and you guessed it.... 90% of the stains came out on the first application. Another 5-7% came out with further applications. Tatton Baird clearly did not even try to clean my hat when such a service required only squirting pennies worth of fluid from a spray can and brushing it off later. So I guess I bought a hatband and got an untraceable nick for my $60. But hey, at least my hat probably gave them mites. read more

Beware of Chandler Scott at Tatton Baird Hats. I went to his store on September of 2019 to order a hat. By talking to Chandler I would never thought he was a person that would steel your money. I brought my hat into the store for him to make a copy of the one I had. He said no problem All I did was pick the color and trim,Chandler made all measurements and took photos of my hat. At that time he said it would take 5 week. It cost was, $580. for a full beaver hat $65. for a hard hat case - Received $20. for a brush - Received $20. for a hat stretcher$ $685.00 total I paid in full that day. After the 5 weeks had come and gone I started calling,Texting and e-mails without a response. After 12 weeks I got a call the the hat was being sent When it arrived it was not the hat i had ordered at all, in fact it was one that was setting in the store when I was there. I called Chandler and he said no problem sent it back and he would refund my money. I have been trying to get in contact with him sense with out any response. From September till now it has been 7 months and I still have not received the $600.00 still owed to me. read more
