We recently moved into a house with a silly lock setup where you can open the door to the backyard while it's locked, and you end up locking yourself outside when you close the door. Well this happened at midnight on a Friday night when letting the dogs out. I called Mr. Locksmith DC and unfortunately because of COVID they are unable to dispatch to my location after 10pm. They said they would find a locksmith close to our house and send out him out ASAP. Very happy with the prompt service from LEO at Mr. LOCKSMITH DC! If I get locked out again--perish the thought--will call and ask for LEO!!

Initially I was going to go with another vendor at the recommendation of my office's building engineer, however their service call fee was four times the amount of Mr. Locksmith (and with a 1/2 less star in yelp reviews). So I made a couple of calls to find another vendor with great reviews and lower prices and that's how I came upon Mr. Locksmith. While the first vendor told me they couldn't get to me until noon (it was around 9am), Mr. Locksmith could get to me within 30 minutes. Great! Cheaper AND Quicker! About a half hour later, Lee arrived and got to work. He wasn't able to fix our old door lock (as it was officially dead and could not be revived), but he was able to install a replacement door lock that we had in our storage room without any problems. The only reason I deducted a star was that the replacement door lock came in a box that was not assembled. The old lock that he removed from the door was completely assembled, thus it would not fit back into the box without being taken apart. Being a tad bit OCD, I absolutely NEEDED the old door lock to fit in the box since we were keeping it in case we needed any of the parts for future repairs. By the time I realized it wouldn't fit into the box because it was fully assembled, Lee had already been gone about 5 minutes. I called him and asked him could he come back and unscrew the 4 screws needed to take it apart (since he had a power drill) and he gave some (excuse of a) reason why it's best that I should keep it in tact as one part. I even offered to come downstairs so he wouldn't have to come back up to the suite. Ultimately, I ended up taking it apart as best I could and taking the casing of the box so that I could (kinda sorta) fit it into the box. No, it wasn't a huge deal, but I've gone to great lengths to organize my storage closet, so having a door lock handle that protruded out of the box, would've driven me crazy (and wouldn't have stacked up evenly). Nonetheless, it was a great experience, and I'd probably use them again. read more

This review started out very differently . My experience when locksmith arrived in the evening, started out ok and everything went well, until the last door. The locksmith and I had a major disagreement as to whether she would get paid for that door, as it would not close. It was late and after a lot of talking, she finally managed to fix it and close the door. I was very upset. The company followed up with me right away.
