I had a pretty good experience at Mr. Lee's BBQ House, especially considering the price. I really liked that a lot of the meat is self-serve, so you can pick and choose what you want and go back for more without having to wait around for someone to bring everything out. One thing that really caught my attention was that on Tuesdays, they include crawfish with their AYCE special. That's a pretty cool addition and definitely makes the Tuesday deal worth checking out if you're a fan of crawfish. The service was nice, and overall I thought the pricing was pretty reasonable for what you get. My only real complaint was that I felt the restaurant could have been a little cleaner. The floor underneath our table felt a bit greasy, and I'm not sure if it was from the BBQ dripping or something else, so I don't want to assume. It was noticeable, though, and something I think could be improved. Other than that, I enjoyed my experience. Parking was decent on a Wednesday night around 7pm without any lines and we were seated quickly. That's when things weren't as copacetic. Initially we were sat on one burner for 6 people and was exceptionally tight. We asked to split our party to get another burner and was grated with attitude from the make server with a tattoo on his right arm. We asked multiple times to restart our burner because the pilot light kept turning off. According to the waiter, we didn't have enough venting on our grill because of the meat. Second and third time the pilot turned itself off we have to track down a different waiter to restart the light. Service is poor, especially from make server with Polynesian tribal tattoo on right arm. If you don't want to be at work, don't come to work. Next, the buffet line. Great concept: get your own sides. Nothing is labeled, albeit kimchi, fried rice were obvious, but others less so. When we finished the bill came with 18% gratuity included. With this 18% gratuity, I had to track down the waiters/ waitress 3 times to restart our burner, get the you're not worth my time attitude for it. I wanted to like Mr. Lees but with the decent food and subpar service is hard for me to do. I think the saving grace here was my God son pick this place for his graduation dinner. I've been avoiding coming to this place since last year when I've read a lot of bad Yelp reviews about it - but thought we should give it chance on a less-busy middle-of-the-weekday and arrived about 5pm. It wasn't busy at all - which I was thankful, because in general, if a restaurant is busy, that usually means we don't get good service - SO I was very happy the server came and seated us right away. Our order was taken promptly and was stoked that they had an open bar for sides (buffet-style) to serve myself immediately for the salads, kimchi, sesame oil, seasoning, rice-paper (wolnamssam-yong), radish wrap (Ssam-mu), etc. - because in my experience with other KBBQ restaurants, the servers NEVER come fast enough to refill those sides for you, so I'm super relieved about this place for allowing us full control of that - without my feeling like I have to keep waving down a server. I was also excited to see additional sides offered as part of this very reasonably-priced All-You-Can-Eat! I had Miso-soup, even got Korean Seaweed Roll, Fried-Rice, fruits - Pineapple chunks, Orange slices, Jello (my fave)! I've been here 3x. It's one of my son's favorite places to eat. I didn't come with super high expectations cuz I know KBBQ can be a hit or miss depending on who's working. Service makes the meal (FOR ME). We always get solid service. I love that it's never crowded and spacious enough that our tables aren't crowded with other guests. I dined at Mr. Lee's in Cerritos a long time ago before the new place took over. I am not sure if this is the same place as the one before? If it is, they definitely upped their game with the venue, space utilization and buffet bar offerings. I brought my family here to try this new location out. We were greeted, checked in and seated within 10 mins of arriving. Not bad for a friday night. The place gets packed quickly and definitely feels a bit crampy. The most disappointing aspect of my meal service was the service. It was inconsistent. The server who got our drinks rarely came by, we had to wave our hands in the air frequently to get the attention of other servers to assist with ongoing orders. This is a huge pet peeve of mine when it comes to these AYCE places. You are truly at the mercy of these servers. There was one server in particular who had a crappy face- like everyone owed him a million bucks. Appears korean, thick plastic framed glasses, with a flat affect (don't give a f*ck attitude). The chickens looked really old and gross. The cucumbers had a weird taste. The soup was decent, but took forever for them to refill. The fish cakes were disgusting. The service was not good at all. We were simply asking one of the workers a question about whether they still offer free ice cream for birthdays, since we were there celebrating a birthday and they used to offer it. Instead of politely saying, "Sorry, we don't do that anymore," the worker responded very rudely and, even said "I don't do that shit." His tall coworker said his name was "Tam" but he didn't look like he wanted to give his coworker his real name as he only spelled it so I'm not too sure if that was the rude worker's actually real name. Regardless, the way we were treated was completely unacceptable. We were just asking a simple question and didn't deserve that kind of attitude. This happened on Tuesday, August 11, at around 8:00 PM. Came here on a Sunday night and had a pretty disappointing experience. Service was slow and disorganized from the get go. We were seated with no menus. When the server finally came to greet us, we were brought a water pitcher but no cups, he tried to take our order and we told him we needed menus. At some point he brought us a menu. When he finally brought the cups he also took our order, and when the meats came out, 2 of the 3 meats weren't even what we ordered. We didn't say anything as we were fine with eating the wrong meats that were brought and who knows how long before he comes back and this gets corrected? The meat quality was surprisingly fresh and tasted good. Throughout our dinner, we had to flag our server down multiple times for basics like water refills, grill changes, and scissors (which we needed because, ironically, we couldn't cut the thick pork belly that we didn't order). Won't be going back anytime soon and do not recommend. All that being said, I don't blame the entire experience on our server as the whole place seemed very understaffed and a bit poorly run. I don't give out one star reviews like candy, so when you read my review believe me when I say this, I would have preferred to make a sandwich at home. I gave this place a shot, because there is another cheaper kbbq spot by where I live and it's delicious so I did not want to judge this place based on its reviews. I would not recommend this place to anyone I know, and would not even feed the food to my dogs cause I would be concerned if they were to get sick. Absolutely awful experience!!! We've been here plenty of times with our small dog, who sits quietly in her stroller and has never caused a single problem. Suddenly, this time, some staff member decides to make up rules on the spot, claiming dogs aren't allowed without paperwork--something no one has ever mentioned before--and then has the nerve to kick us out after we were already seated. We were a large group, the place wasn't even busy, and yet they still chose to handle it in the most incompetent and inconsiderate way possible. If there's a policy, maybe learn how to communicate it properly instead of blindsiding customers. The inconsistency and complete lack of professionalism made it clear they don't value their customers at all. My cousins and I had lunch here last weekend. Such a huge location! I like that you can make a reservation! The meats are very fresh! And they do a great job coming to ask if you need more. We had never been to this location as our waitress was patient in explaining how their AYCE works. I appreciated that the menu was simple and straight to the point. The buffet was also filled with an array of options to accompany the proteins which was great. I thought it was great how large this place was & observed that hosting large parties wouldn't be difficult here because they have ample space. I don't live too far from Mr.Lees and when it was in Cerritos me and my family loved to eat there and it was a weekly thing however since they move locations the service quality has gone down significantly every time we go in it's the same thing we wait a few minutes we get sat we already know what we like we give them our orders and we wait but after that we have to flag down servers constantly if we want refills or more meat If one of the sides is missing from the buffet line you have to ask them to make more which isn't an issue until they look at you in a way that says "Not my problem" and then never tell anybody about it They've tried to overcharge us twice now which we luckily noticed and had waved off our bill Me and my mom also went in one day 20 minutes after they said they were supposed to be open and when we got there we were surprised to see a line however we asked the other customers waiting and realized that the reason there was a line was because they had stopped the customers in front of us from coming in by closing and relocking the doors on them and saying g they needed another 20-30 minutes to get everything ready All in all this place has gone from being one of my favorites to a spot we now avoid like the plague and instead we go to the Red Palace which is located not too far from Mr. Lees original location I do not work for or at Red palace but I am simply informing others that there is a better option that feels like the original location read more

Many years ago, the Mr. Lee's on South St. in Artesia/Cerritos was my OG KBBQ spot that started my KBBQ obsession. It's nice to see it evolve a bit more to cater to the big deal that KBBQ is now. First off, this place is HUGE. There is SO much seating and huge tables. When you go into a room, you take a peak around the corner and there is another huge room with more tables! I came in on off hours on a Sunday, so I'm curious to see what it's like when it's REALLY busy. Service - I came during off-hours so the service was attentive and fast. Again, I would have to come back during busy times to see if it's just as good. Food - good quality meats, the salad buffet style banchan is always the best because we then don't have to share a measly bite of a side dish between multiple people. This place is pretty freaking good. I mean, I am not very high on K barbecue a AYCE places, But my boys can't get enough of them. This place comes with about five selections of meat. Brisket, marinated beef which is their bulgogi, marinated chicken, and pork belly. Typically we just get to meats but this one had one of the two meats. The brisket is thin and crispy when it comes out because it seems frozen. Cooks well on the grill. They can work on their sauce because there's some sort of a soy sauce sweet base with chili mix together.. everything else is extra. You want rice? $1. Want a side of garlic? $1. Want steamed egg? $1... you get the idea. If you purely want just any one of the four minutes and my keys we love brisket, this place is a good deal. 10.99 for all over 7+ My only gripe is the circulation of this place.
