I've been avoiding coming to this place since last year when I've read a lot of bad Yelp reviews about it - but thought we should give it chance on a less-busy middle-of-the-weekday and arrived about 5pm. It wasn't busy at all - which I was thankful, because in general, if a restaurant is busy, that usually means we don't get good service - SO I was very happy the server came and seated us right away. Our order was taken promptly and was stoked that they had an open bar for sides (buffet-style) to serve myself immediately for the salads, kimchi, sesame oil, seasoning, rice-paper (wolnamssam-yong), radish wrap (Ssam-mu), etc. - because in my experience with other KBBQ restaurants, the servers NEVER come fast enough to refill those sides for you, so I'm super relieved about this place for allowing us full control of that - without my feeling like I have to keep waving down a server. I was also excited to see additional sides offered as part of this very reasonably-priced All-You-Can-Eat! I had Miso-soup, even got Korean Seaweed Roll, Fried-Rice, fruits - Pineapple chunks, Orange slices, Jello (my fave)! They also had Mac-salad, Potato salad, also offered cooked fried chicken, baby clams, crawfish, fried wontons, edamame, eomuk (Korean fish cakes), Japchae (Korean Glass Noodle), etc. Plenty of sides also offered self-serve that you can cook on the grill, like onions, broccoli, mushrooms, etc. I was impressed with their choices at this price point! SO, my recommendation is - give this place a chance - sometimes restaurants do have bad days (as do servers and employees) which can get them a bad Yelp review). Today I appreciated that the servers were helpful and attentive. I LOVED the food: We ordered the Beef Brisket, Marinated Beef Bulgogi, Beef Belly, Pork Belly, Marinated Pork Belly - and yes, ALL included at the same price point (we went for the cheapest menu option) at $24.99 per person - so much value for that low price! Came here last night because my daughter was craving some Korean BBQ. We've been eating a lot of bbq this week, but I stepped up and joined my daughter for Mr. Lees. We are fortunate that the times we've come here it hasn't been crowded and then our server was excellent. I love coming to Mr. Lee's because of the self serve ban Chan. It's nice not to have to wait for someone to bring refills of my salad or other ban Chan. I just hope our streak continues. read more

I dined at Mr. Lee's in Cerritos a long time ago before the new place took over. I am not sure if this is the same place as the one before? If it is, they definitely upped their game with the venue, space utilization and buffet bar offerings. I brought my family here to try this new location out. We were greeted, checked in and seated within 10 mins of arriving. Not bad for a friday night. The place gets packed quickly and definitely feels a bit crampy. The most disappointing aspect of my meal service was the service. It was inconsistent. The server who got our drinks rarely came by, we had to wave our hands in the air frequently to get the attention of other servers to assist with ongoing orders. This is a huge pet peeve of mine when it comes to these AYCE places. You are truly at the mercy of these servers. There was one server in particular who had a crappy face- like everyone owed him a million bucks. Appears korean, thick plastic framed glasses, with a flat affect (don't give a f*ck attitude). When I had my hand up, he stopped by to ask if I was done eating. I said no, we are waiting to order more meats. He said, please wave down someone else. WTF?! super crappy response for a server. Then 30mins, he came to the table by himself, got close to my ear like he needed to speak and the words out of his mouth were, "did your kids throw food at the table behind?!" I almost broke out laughing. The same guy REFUSED to take my order came here to ask if my kids threw food at another table. Just because some parents do not keep their eye on their kids at dinner time, it does not mean you should assume my kids did it. Super rude and was even more offended on my children's behalf. Though the food was good/average for a mid level priced AYCE, the service and how we were treated really killed the experience here. But looks like it got relocated to where Bulgogi house use to be in City of La Palma. My son wanted to celebrate his 17th Birthday celebration w a few of his close buddies and we picked here for its decent reviews along reasonable AYCE Pricing. My friend and I always like coming here for the endless buffet-style side dishes that pair well with the Combo we order. The location offers a Combo A and a Combo B but the entire party will need to order off the same combo. The floor was dirty but somewhat acceptable. The toilets were unacceptable. Like gross. REALLY GROSS! I tried to take the image outta my brain so I can eat a little lol I guess the meats were ok. The chickens looked really old and gross. The cucumbers had a weird taste. The soup was decent, but took forever for them to refill. The fish cakes were disgusting. Came here on a Sunday night and had a pretty disappointing experience. Service was slow and disorganized from the get go. We were seated with no menus. When the server finally came to greet us, we were brought a water pitcher but no cups, he tried to take our order and we told him we needed menus. At some point he brought us a menu. When he finally brought the cups he also took our order, and when the meats came out, 2 of the 3 meats weren't even what we ordered. We didn't say anything as we were fine with eating the wrong meats that were brought and who knows how long before he comes back and this gets corrected? The meat quality was surprisingly fresh and tasted good. Throughout our dinner, we had to flag our server down multiple times for basics like water refills, grill changes, and scissors (which we needed because, ironically, we couldn't cut the thick pork belly that we didn't order). Won't be going back anytime soon and do not recommend. All that being said, I don't blame the entire experience on our server as the whole place seemed very understaffed and a bit poorly run. I don't give out one star reviews like candy, so when you read my review believe me when I say this, I would have preferred to make a sandwich at home. Food was a joke, the meat was dry and flavorless (No I did not overcook the meat) and the sides were gross. The meat had bizarre texture and after taste. After eating I had a sensitive stomach for the rest of the day and did not eat. But wait there's more....... Server continuously forgot my orders, and hardly checked in. I had to get the attention of other servers to request things to order. I gave this place a shot, because there is another cheaper kbbq spot by where I live and it's delicious so I did not want to judge this place based on its reviews. The most ironic thing is my experience was worse than the rating on Yelp and Google. I would not recommend this place to anyone I know, and would not even feed the food to my dogs cause I would be concerned if they were to get sick. Went during lunch and it wasn't busy and there was ample parking space. Worker was very friendly and made sure our orders come in and out quickly. The lunch menu selection is lacking and you have to pay extra for steamed eggs or tofu soup. We ended up getting beef brisket, beef belly, and pork belly every order. My cousins and I had lunch here last weekend. Such a huge location! I like that you can make a reservation! The meats are very fresh! And they do a great job coming to ask if you need more. You can only order three meats at a time, per grill. I also like the buffet areas, so you can get the sides as you please. There is also fruits, jello, chicken and dumplings. Mr. Lee's was a great gem to find after my go-spot was overly crowded over the weekend! The wait wasn't long and the service was good! We had never been to this location as our waitress was patient in explaining how their AYCE works. I appreciated that the menu was simple and straight to the point. The buffet was also filled with an array of options to accompany the proteins which was great. I thought it was great how large this place was & observed that hosting large parties wouldn't be difficult here because they have ample space. I used to come here often as it was a budget KBBQ spot with plenty of parking. 1. All the meats were low quality with uneven marinade besides the spicy pork. They have a buffet where you can grab the sides yourself but everything is old and poorly made which made everything suck beside the kimchi. There was a tiny broken bone in the fried chicken that almost pierced my throat. Wouldn't mind having 1/4 the options if they were halfway decent. 2. The service was ultimately the reason why they lost my business forever. There a well-built semi-tall server with an arm tattoo there that walks around looking pissed the whole time. I've seen him there 2 times now and both times not a smile on his face or a simple "Hello" out of him. Doesn't seem like he'd be a good fit for any hospitality job. He came up to our table and grabbed the sauce containers away while we were clearly still eating; after I spoke up to stop him from taking them away, he pretends to not hear me and ignore me. After the following experiences over 3+ visits I feel they've had enough chances from me. Many years ago, the Mr. Lee's on South St. in Artesia/Cerritos was my OG KBBQ spot that started my KBBQ obsession. It's nice to see it evolve a bit more to cater to the big deal that KBBQ is now. First off, this place is HUGE. There is SO much seating and huge tables. When you go into a room, you take a peak around the corner and there is another huge room with more tables! I came in on off hours on a Sunday, so I'm curious to see what it's like when it's REALLY busy. Service - I came during off-hours so the service was attentive and fast. Again, I would have to come back during busy times to see if it's just as good. Food - good quality meats, the salad buffet style banchan is always the best because we then don't have to share a measly bite of a side dish between multiple people. I can stack a plate of my kimchi and potato salad and that's that. That's for meeeeee. They also advertise that you do have to pay extra if you want Kalbi short ribs. I remember coming here many years ago when it had different owners. I had no idea it had reopened and on MLK day, many KBBQs in the area were not offering lunch specials which was absolutely frustrating. We came here because their prices seemed very fair and I was really craving KBBQ. Well the entire experience was meh. Yes, we were seated immediately; upon asking for meat, we were told that we can only order up to 3 plates at a time. The server only brought us two for the first round and after this, we did not see him again for like twenty minutes. He eventually shows up after attending pretty much every other table except ours and changes our grill, brings us more meat (only two plates again). From then on, we were attended by two other servers who were more inclined to come check up on us, which was good but this inconsistency in service surely does not go unnoticed. Though the meat itself was not bad, the items at the buffet were not very good. Everything I piled onto a plate, besides the radish paper, was really cold and you just knew after tasting it that it had been sitting out for an hour or two. Even though the place is huge, I guess they do not get enough people to be constantly moving out old sides and putting in new ones. One thing I should note is that the bathroom was very much not clean. By the urinals, there was a big puddle on the floor and they looked like they had not been clean since last week. They walk past your table without any acknowledgment or looking at you. And now, we went because they open at 11:30 and they were not ready at 11:40 and still said they needed 5 more minutes. But I'd still go again for convenience of location and the large space. It's ok/good but nothing to write home about. I'm a terrible AYCE customer. I never eat enough to justify the cost. To me nothing is particularly outstanding and it's more about quantity. I try to enjoy the banchan, a little of everything. While ordering as much spicy marinated meats. Everything was great, except for the music--it was extremely loud. The staff even mistook our order for spicy instead of sliced because of the noise I'd recommend lowering the volume a bit, as even my family had trouble hearing each other across the table. This place is pretty freaking good. I mean, I am not very high on K barbecue a AYCE places, But my boys can't get enough of them. This place comes with about five selections of meat. Brisket, marinated beef which is their bulgogi, marinated chicken, and pork belly. Typically we just get to meats but this one had one of the two meats. The brisket is thin and crispy when it comes out because it seems frozen. Cooks well on the grill. They can work on their sauce because there's some sort of a soy sauce sweet base with chili mix together.. everything else is extra. You want rice? $1. Want a side of garlic? $1. Want steamed egg? $1... you get the idea. If you purely want just any one of the four minutes and my keys we love brisket, this place is a good deal. 10.99 for all over 7+ My only gripe is the circulation of this place. Um... I have been here many times but I had to use the restrooms, now I dont think we will be going back. The state of grime and dirt and graffiti and broken locks. It was all too much. It makes you super aware of the peeling tape on the floor chipped plates and dirty waiting area. On top of the they didnt have all the items in the buffet available. Thats ok considering I now question the cleanliness of the kitchen. This time it's a buffet style for the banchan (sides) so it's easier to get the ones you want. It's a bigger place than before so there's quite bit of selection to choose from. The only thing you ask for are the meats and drinks. You have kimchi, cucumber kimchi, salad, jello, japchae, rice, dumplings, and much more. The meat can be a hit or a miss depending on how it was prepared. On a good day, it's amazing but there's time where it's been okay. I usually do brisket and bulgolgi but I have tried their chicken, spicy chicken, spicy pork, and pork belly. Service is usually great in this new place compared to before. There were reservations, so when I got there and gave staff the name the reservation was under, I was promptly escorted to the back room where there were multiple tables lined up. I pulled up a chair and put my personal belongings down and went straight to the buffet station. Interesting options: Fruit; salad; spicy rice cake; won tons; fried chicken; fried rice; white rice; jahp-chae; etc. There was already a menu, so when I got to the table, staff took my protein order. They deliver three plates at a time, to limit waste. I ordered a beef, spicy chicken, and pork belly. Staff turn the grill on; customers grill their own meat. Food was tasty. That was pretty much it for me. No more additional rounds of meat necessary. Prices are not bad either for an AYCE restaurant. Staff were friendly and efficient.
