Iv been to Asian bistro in wake forest and the dumplings they have there are not just food there pieces of art. The chef walked to the front to talk to the sushi chef at the bar and you could see the flour on his apron from making the dough. I asked for pan seared dumplings but this man went the extra mile and made them with a skirt , philippine style. They were filled with meat and were so thin you could actually see it. He was a true master of his art. No one I know can roll out the dough so thin not me you or anyone at MR dumplings I ordered the leak and pork because I saw they were being made fresh. When I bit into them 2/3 was flour and 1 was filling . Worst place ever and they should all be ashamed of what they are doing there. read more

Dumpling skin wasn't thin as I expected but the place is clean, inviting and the noodles seared in chilli was awesome. It just had few pieces of bokchoy and would have preferred some tou hay or tofu but it was satisfying. This is a nice little Dumpling place in Apex. I liked the assorted dumpling option which gave you an opportunity to try 2 of each dumpling that they offered. I shared these with a friend and ordered the Shrimp Fried Rice and Egg Drop Soup. I really enjoyed the soup, and liked that they added corn to it as well. The rice was just like any other Fried Rice, nothing really stood out about it. My friend ordered Pork Lo Mein, and I did like the pork pieces that were in it, they were in strips. Overall, I would come back to get the dumplings, and skip the other stuff. read more

I visited for the first time and had a disastrous experience. It was all because one waiter decided to be territorial over all the tables, intervening at my waitresses table when he had no business to do so, and in the process refused to bring me my redo order of dumplings when I pointed out I received the wrong order. He was not going to replace it at all and kept ignoring me including keeping the wait staff from me as I was trying to get someone's attention. He yelled at the waitress in the kitchen for adding to my order a child's size order of chicken that I asked for, which he threw out and then continued to yell at her within an inch of her face out on the floor of the restaurant. He brought her to tears that she continued wiping away for the rest of the time we were there. I was shocked about all that was happening and not being served any food. Finally the dumpling chef overhead when I confronted him for not bringing me the redo and she brought me my order. The next day when looking at my receipt I realized I was charged for a child's portion of chicken he refused to serve me that he threw in the garbage. I returned the next day to at least get back my money for it and talk to someone about the horrible treatment I received from him. The dumpling chef only wanted to point out that ordering the child's size dinner for an adult was not allowed & the dumpling order was entered wrong to begin with. I had to press her on addressing the waiter's behavior, who I asked for an apology from, which I did receive, but should have insisted he apologize to the waitress too for yelling at her. I was refunded my money for the entire meal, so that was a good thing, but overall trying to get my point across about the bad behavior was an exercise in futility. I visited this place while traveling for work and really enjoyed my experience there. The interior is comfortable and while I was eating there was a dumpling chef creating new dumpling. I enjoyed watching while I ate. I tried the wontons with chili oil and thought they were delicious. They were extremely fresh and had a good amount of heat but no so much that I left in tears. It's a small sit down restaurant but the food is good. The dumplings are good hence the name. This is not your typical Chinese restaurant so go in with an open mind. I have picked up take out a few times now and will continue to go back. Ordering and picking up curbside is easy. Everything I've tried so far has been delicious. I especially love the wonton soup in chicken broth with bok choy. I enjoy the dumplings, but wish there were more dim sum offerings. We love Mr. Dumpling. And you know they are the real deal when both native Chinese and non-Asian customers enjoy many of their dishes. My wife, from Qindao, and I, a Jew from the Bronx, always stuff ourselves on the superb dumplings, beef, pork, vegetable, fish -- and we also especially enjoy the fried string beans. My wife is fond of the hot and spicy Sichuan Fragrant Crispy Fish dish -- which looks like it could feed a family of four -- as well as the Beef Noodle in Szechuan sauce. My favorites are Beef Chow Fun and Orange chicken or beef (I like both). The restaurant is in a corner of the mall of Apex Peakway and has a beautiful outdoor court surrounded by trees. When we arrived there was a sign at the door saying that they only do take out because of staffing issues. So we were kinda bummed and thought about going somewhere else but I was way to excited because I love love love dumplings, so I was really excited to try this place. The cashier told us that we can eat inside the restaurant but there will be no waiter and we were ok with that because we live 20 min away and did not wanted to eat cold dumplings. We ordered the pork and leek dumplings and the pork and cabbage. We also ordered their sesame chicken and hot and sour soup. Our favorite by far were the pork and cabbage dumplings. The leek and dumplings were green and I was kinda irritated by the wrapper color but they were quite good. Just not what you would expect a dumpling to taste like. The dipping sauce that comes with the dumplings was amazing too! The hot and sour soup was very peppery. It tasted like Simone put way too much pepper in it. I only had a couple spoons of the soup because the pepper taste was very overwhelming. The sesame chicken tasted like orange chicken so I am not sure if I got the right order. I had the most terrible take out from Mr Dumpling. The food had no flavor and was undercooked. Dumplings were supposed to be pan fried, but looked as if they were flash cooked and thrown in the box. Was excited to try this out based on reviews! Covid visit- lots of to-go orders and a few people dining in. Party of 5, of course we all wanted to try out different dishes. We ended up ordering Walnut Shrimp, Szechuan chicken, lo mein, Honey Chicken and of course dumplings. The entrees included rice so we opted for white and fried rice. Lots of food and perfect for party size. We were sat at a table with a lazy Susan which made it so easy to try out the dishes. My favorite was the walnut shrimp. I really wish they would have told us which dumplings we were tasting since we all guessed the filings. My only complaint was the food was salty- I had 3 waters. We've been a few times and are never disappointed. The food is excellent- and there are many traditional recipes you won't find anywhere else. Definitely get the dumplings! Service was fast- but they can sometimes be very short with you. In our last experience, one of the drinks was forgotten and we had to ask about it. Overall, this place was okay - good for the lack of quality Chinese food in the area, but not blowing me away. Both the boiled and pan fried dumplings were decent, albeit portions were a bit small for the price. For the crispy beef stuffed pie, the dough texture and beef filling were just not authentically Chinese. My kid's sesame chicken kids meal was actually good value for the price, but he took a couple of bites of everything and concluded that he didn't like any of it (he'll eat generous portions of mostly anything so that's not a good sign). I ended up eating a fair amount of his meal, and thought the food was average, not bad. Overall, you'll probably be here in search of Chinese food, but temper expectations. read more

I have to say that the water with lemon and fortune cookies were amazing! That was about it. We ordered the Pad Kee Mao and Kung Pao Chicken with a side order of spring rolls. The spring rolls really had no filling and they were soggy and doughy inside. The waitress was so confused about what protein was in the Pad Kee Mao I had no idea what I would get. Also she asked what kind of rice I wanted with it. Umm, it's a noodle dish. What a disappointment. This dish had no flavor whatsoever. The noodles were overcooked and there were 3 pieces of carrot. There were 6 shrimp though and they were cooked well. The Kung Pao chicken was hardly spicy as indicated and was probably thigh meat as it had a chewy texture. When the waitress saw my plate still full of food she asked if I wanted a box. I said 'no, that was disgusting' and she walked away and brought us our check. We will never return. read more

I was disappointed last night when we stopped in to order carry out. The open sign in the window was illuminated. We walked in (4:17pm), doors were open, place was desolate. There was an employee sitting on the patio, I opened the door going out to the patio asking if they were open, then heard a voice behind me in the restaurant. There were three employees napping in the booths. They told me they were closed, I said sorry- the open sign was illuminated. They explained that I would have to come back once they opened. so then when I asked what time they open, they told me 4:30 PM- I looked at my watch and then looked at them and said it is 4:18PM, are you asking me to leave and come back in 12 minutes? They said yes. The food was never great there, but the kids like it. I try to keep my money in Apex at smaller businesses. After this great customer service experience, I'll take my money elsewhere. read more

Sanitation score was a low 91 with ceiling material peeling falling onto work surfaces. Service was horrible, they were definitely short staffed. Seemed to cater to takeout which was a bit frantic as well. Mostly all fried food, however it was tasty and came out hot. My wife was served 15 minutes before me. Lastly we witnessed several disgruntled customers who were listened to but in no way compensated, just push back from staff. I would avoid this place. read more

this was my first time here, whereas it was other people's second or third, but i thought every dish was great! however, there was just excess sauce in some dishes like the bokchoy and loads of oil in the hofun (which does make it taste better;) the service was quite alright, just seemed to be confused a bit with such a large crowd dining in. the dishes came out super fast though! one after another all the dishes came out within 10-15 minutes! the atmosphere of the place was pretty nice! i loved the decor and lights, especially the added bonsais. the place looked a bit small seeing that they didn't have a bigger round table that could fit 10+ parties. read more

My coworker praised this place so I wanted to see things for myself. I ordered two things of dumplings yesterday for takeout. I got the Pork and Leek and Pork and Celery. When I opened up the containers, I noticed that size wise, they were puny compared to the homemade dumplings that my parents can make. These are like baby dumplings. However, they do taste great and fresh. I'm more fan of the pork and leek than the pork and celery. Not sure what the dipping sauce they provided was but that was quite good as well. Overall, this place has some good dumplings. Just wished they had more filling in each dumpling. read more
