If you're looking for good American Chinese food, this place is it. Their foods are quick and tasty. Their Singapore mei fun is the best around! It's a small family owned business. read more

Our first choice was closed so we picked this with hopes the 4 star reviews were right. They were not. The tofu was soggy, the crab Rangoon's unpalatable and I didn't even touch the chicken. The veggie lo-mein wasn't bad but even our rice loving queen wouldn't touch it. It was pretty speedy though but lesson learned even Panda Express outranks this. read more

Good prices and portions, quick pick up for take out, and decent food. Our go-to Chinese take out place in Apex

I don't understand the good reviews Which was the reason we came The food was terrible We both ordered the chicken chowmein, it was terrible no flavor and full oh garlic Service was okay, if this includes bringing the food to the table after ordering at the counter Was only superseded by the cheap plastic plates and forks A gas's station food counter would have a better ambience Uncomfortable stuffy and warm I wouldn't recommend it And will not be coming back read more

Had the fried dumplings, orange chicken and happy family. All three were well made and delicious. read more

Solid Chinese takeout, fairly standard clean setup inside with plenty of seating/booths. Quality food with sizable portions, friendly and prompt service, and great pricing, especially with their combos/specials. Definitely amongst the better Chinese takeout places in the area, would definitely recommend. read more

There are lots of places to get a quick bite of Chinese food, but this place stands out for me. I have gotten takeout from this restaurant many times. The chicken wings and the house Mei fun are my favorite. The Mei fun has tons of flavor and lots of meat and veggies mixed in with the noodles. The staff is always friendly and it doesn't take long to get your food. I love this spot! read more

I've tried this place numerous times over the last year trying to give it another shot. the General Tso is alright, nothing to brag about, anything else has no taste to it. I've tried hunan chicken, kung pao, sesame, orange chicken, and the shrimp chow mein was the last straw. I do not understand the good reviews whatsoever. read more

Recently had takeout from this restaurant and while I wasn't disappointed, yet I was not very impressed. Despite numerous recommendations on the NextDoor app highly suggesting this was the "best around," I found this takeout to be just an average experience with the food being no better than any other Chinese I've now experienced in the Triangle! read more

I frequent the Apex area for work and found myself close to New China Chef, so I thought I'd give this place a try. Whenever I go a Chinese place for the first time, I get Hunan Chicken (extra spicy), white rice, and a shrimp egg roll. Hard meal to mess up, but many have so I get something simple. I'll tell you; this place knows Hunan Chicken!! It was cooked beautifully! The chicken was tender and bursting with flavor and heat! They actually the special request box! The rice was fluffy and absorbed that spicy sauce very well. The shrimp egg roll was like a flavor bomb in my mouth. So good! Usually I get hot sauce to add because even though I request extra spicy, it rarely happens. The hot sauce at New China Chef is not the cheap stuff with the Red 40 dye in it; it's actually some oil with red pepper flakes. I almost put too much on the Hunan chicken, but it adds much more flavor that the cheap hot sauce. This place knows what good Chinese food is and will see my face plenty when I'm in the read more

New China Chef - Hunan Chicken, steamed rice, and shrimp egg roll! - Chinese Near Me - Apex, North Carolina

We haven't ordered Chinese takeout for years primarily due to the pandemic. Today was the day and we ordered 125.General Tso's Shrimp, S 8. Dragon & Phoenix, and S12. Hot & Spicy Beef, using the iPhone app. I got there a few minutes prior to arranged time and my order was ready. By the time we began to eat lunch at home, 15 minutes later, everything was still hot. Each dish was thoroughly enjoyed. The counter staff were very friendly. We shall return read more

Visited here for the first time a few weeks ago and dined in. I appreciated the overall cleanliness of the restaurant. Staff was nice also. The food was steaming hot and we were given very solid portion sizes. We left the restaurant full with leftovers for later. It was a little bit pricy, but not too bad given the amount of food you get. I've had tastier Chinese food but I did like it. Overall, I would recommend New China Chef. read more

Our first take out order was today. The portions and taste were excellent! Our order consisted of egg rolls, house special soup, ribs, chow mein, sweet and sour chicken, shrimp and broccoli, general tso shrimp. Very pleased and will be back! read more

Solid takeout Chinese food. Reminds me of any of a half dozen places in my Brooklyn neighborhood. Except for one thing. One thing is different about New China Chef than most other places. The wings. Oh man, the wings. Breaded wings aren't my favorite way to do wings, but they make up for it with the flavors. Fried wings, hot wings, honey wings, garlic wings, sesame wings, and by far my favorite, the wings that get me every time, General Tso's Wings. If you like General Tso's chicken and you like wings, you're gonna love them. read more

Delicious, Affordable and Quick...The Hunan Beef Combo is amazing! They also got there to go packing down

Came here about 3 weeks on a recommendation from Facebook on how good this place was and how it reminded them of back home (NY) and they were indeed right this place definitely did not disappoint, they welcomed and greeted us with hello and smile, which is rare. The food was phenomenal had great flavor and was hot....Traveled 25mins from Fuquay and don't regret it, this is our new favorite Chinese Restaurant. Definitely recommended read more

Good solid East Coast Chinese Food. The chicken was tender and juicy. Good flavorful fried rice. Lots of chicken in the dish, no skimping. Definitely a solid place in the neighborhood that will do the job. read more

Found this place online--close to my brother's residence. The lady that took our order over the phone (I think she was the owner) was very patient and kind. When I arrived to pick up order, I found the place very clean and inviting. The lady was very gracious and made me feel like a welcome guest. The food was already all prepared (very fast service). Though it was a large order we found everything was perfect--no errors and nothing missing (nowadays that is a huge plus with restaurant service). The food was tasty (especially loved the shrimp toast) and we definitely plan to come again. Thank you very much for such excellent service. A+ read more

After striking out recently with my go-to Chinese spot I decided New China. Why I haven't been coming here is a huge mistake on my end. Probably the best Chinese takeout I've had since moving to Carolinas in 2014. Staff was extremely friendly, food was awesome, and portions are spot on. This will be my new regular spot. read more

Went in with low expectations and was extremely surprised by how tasty the Chinese takeout is here. Will be one of my new go-to places for takeout! Per the recommendation of other yelpers, I ordered the pint size hot and sour soup and it is, as described, delicious and well balanced. Orders were chicken and broccoli as well as beef with chinese vegetable combos. Food was prepared quickly, prices were fair, portions were average, and dishes tasted great. Noting seemed too oily and tasted relatively fresh. I typically hate takeout egg rolls and actually didn't mind theirs! What more could you want?! Go support them! read more

Had the Singapore Chow Mei Fun dish which was veryyyy tasty. Very thin noodles with lots of veggies, egg, and chicken with a spicy seasoning. It was great. I ordered my without pork and shrimp. I wasn't crazy about the veggie potstickers as I found them to be very doughy. read more

My go-to carryout spot. The best general tso in the area. I've definitely become a regular.

We've been frequenting Mezza Luna lately and noticed this place a couple doors down. Figured we'd give them a try. I saw another review raving about the Hot & Sour Soup so I figured we'd start there. It's really good. Nice overall flavor and fantastic ingredients. It's near perfect with the fried wanton strips. Steamed Dumpling are a favorite for us so we went there next. I liked that the wrappers had some body to them. Nice overall balance and flavor. The sauce is tasty. I went with General Tsao Chicken. Not very authentic but it's always been a favorite. There wasn't much heat and the meat was sparse but it was tasty. A solid meal and good value for the money. We'll definitely go back. read more

Probably the best Chinese take out options in the area. The BBQ boneless spare ribs are great, the wonton soup is so flavorful and the crispy noodles that come with it are super good. The hot and sour soup also a favorite. The black pepper chicken is good. But the sesame chicken seemed to use a different type and had a raw texture, not sure if that is normal or if it was just undercooked. They are always friendly and fast, it is clean inside with plenty of seating. read more

Excellent Chinese food!!! From the moment I called and placed the order to picking up the service was great. The quality of the food was phenomenal. Not greasy and didn't make you feel over uncomfortable after....unless you over eat which is easy from here. The way I was greeted picking up the food was very gracious. The restaurant was clean and easy grab sauces and chopsticks to go was nice too! It's a go to for us now! read more

After multiple positive reviews on Yelp, I decided to try out this food for my family. We were too lazy to cook our own for "Chinese New Years" and had to have chinese food, so this was the closest we could find for it. We ordered from the 'combo' meals. 1st meal was an order of Chicken & Broccoli over rice. The meal was very plentiful and packed in nicely. Compared to other places we've tried, there was plenty of both broccoli as well as the chicken. The sauces didn't over take the meal, which was good too. 2nd meal was an order for General Tso's Chicken over rice. The amount of meat that we received was much larger than what we've seen from this meal in the past. The chicken was cooked well (not overly fried) and had a good coating of sauce (could have been a little spicier, but still a good medium strength) 3rd meal - beef chow fun - which is beef with chinese fat noodles with scallions. This was a great dish, as we typically make it and the kids love it. was great to see that they devoured this dish rather quickly. (was a little greasy, but still was devoured). 4th - large quart of wonton soup. The soup contained a lot of wontons, compared to other places. These were very good, and didn't taste like they were 'manufactured', but rather like they were more homemade. If you check in here on YELP, you will also get a 10% off coupon to use for your take out order. (unfortunately, i didn't realize that until after i paid). If you have used that before, then look online. they do run specials too, and I noticed that they had a $3 off purchases of $20 or more, and $6 off purchases of $35 or more. (3off & 6off are the codes). The staff was quite friendly too. Didn't rush me to order, and didn't seem impatient either. They seemed to be pretty busy making orders (assuming takeout, as the restaurant was empty). Overall, I would say that this place was a really decent place to get your takeout chinese food. (wish they did 'off the menu' items too, however they do not) read more

This is a very clean, although small, NY chinese resturant that has a huge take-out business. The food is tasty and fresh. The sanitation score is high and it seems to be family run as two small boys worked at homework while I waited. Prices are fair for the portions given. Its good fast and hot food....what more could you want?? read more

My family and I have been coming to this establishment for around 5 years or more, and the quality has never changed. It's absolutely delicious and is my #1 Chinese restaurant in the raleigh/cary area. I am a huge fan of their egg rolls, rangoons, and lo mein but everything else I have tried is fantastic so far. If I had to recommended one item from this place that you must get when you come here, it has to be their hot and sour soup. Best hot and sour soup in the triangle and I've had a lot! I find myself constantly coming back here very often for more. The pint size is 3 bucks and their quart size is 5 bucks. Their entrée dishes are good too. Combo meals are around 8 bucks. I've had their moo goo gai pan and black pepper chicken combos. Both very tasty and you can substitute their egg roll for soup for an extra $1.50. Overall, very good chinese takeout joint. read more

This place has some very tasty food. Today we had the chicken wings and they had great flavor and seasoning which is sometimes hard to find. They were crisply fried and piping hot. We've also had their shrimp egg rolls and their shrimp and broccoli. Both of which were also tasty and freshly prepared. They always serve you quickly and with a smile even if you are the last customer on a cold night (that was us once). Their prices are reasonable and they have combo specials as well. This is the best destination for Chinese (Americanized of Course) in Apex. read more

Best you're going to get in this area. It's been hard finding good Chinese food in the South, but this is a solid choice.

Always friendly, fresh food and never greasy like a lot of other places. Best in the Apex area.

I looked online for a Chinese Food restaurant with decent ratings. I took a chance on a new (to me) offering and landed at New China Chef. There was a coupon good for my first visit. Service was friendly and fast. The food was delicious! read more

Not a fan. The food has gone downhill. Our last meal had burned rice and the eggrolls were inedible. Will not be back.
