Came on a Saturday afternoon around 5pm. Not busy at all, hard to park though because of the other businesses around. The inside is very early 2000s Chinese restaurant, it is very nice. They have karaoke which you can do anytime, I'm not sure if it's English music as well but they play Chinese music the entire time with music videos. It's pretty cool. The food was very disappointing. The buffet for two adults is $30.29 which is pretty decent. The buffet was lacking, the food was cold, there was no sushi and if there was it had been sitting out for hours on end. Cheese fried mussels were barely cooked and seasoned. The classics like general tso chicken, sesame chicken, spring rolls, etc were good. The options were lacking, nothing stuck out to me and it's not that much to choose from. Very disappointing. This is our go to spot when we don't feel like cooking or friends and family are visiting. The food is always good and flavorful. I can't say much about the ambience. If you want to sit down and grab a quick lunch, this is a good spot. It's also a good spot for a date (not a first one). I think this is a family-owned and operated establishment. Chinese is my daughter's favorite takeout cuisine and we don't have it often because the food isn't good in North Carolina. I stumbled upon Jumbo and decided to take a chance. I have driven by this place numerous times since moving to Raleigh and looked at the ratings for this place and was truly hesitant to trying this place. I went in with hesitation and saw a sanitation rating of 90. It didn't deter me. The sanitation rating is something I am not all too familiar with since I am Originally from Florida and I have lived in upstate NY and we don't have that. This place rocks...I have placed 5 takeout orders over the past few months, and everyone has been spot on. They are busy, so if you call to place your order and the line is busy or goes to voicemail keep trying. This is especially true on the weekends. Also they are closed on Mondays. read more

I'm from CA, and this is the best Chinese food place I've found in my area. Their sauces are fantastic! The meats are always very tender and yummy! My husband brought a great Sesame Chicken home from Jumbo China. I definitely plan to get lunch there next week.

It's been approximately 6 months or so since I ordered takeout from the Jumbo China on Ronald Drive in Raleigh until tonight (12/30/22). I honestly have to express my absolute disappointment. The food was just ........ HORRIBLE (ALL of it). About four of us placed a nice size order and decided we would just do some type of casual Buffet style back at the house and so we had a very good selection of different types of menu items we've all ordered at least once in the past from this exact jumbo China location and we're pleased. Menu items, such as egg foo young, hot and sour soup, hibachi shrimp and steak with fried rice, Crab Rangoon, spring rolls, barbecue, spare ribs, moo goo gai pan, etc. We unfortunately were so shocked!!! The food was not even tolerable. The steak in the hibachi tasted like beef jerky but without the flavor of beef jerky, it was so bland and tough as rubber to be honest. The shrimp in the hibachi was VERY fishy tasting, the hot and sour soup had so much oil sitting right on the top, I've never had hot and sour soup that had THAT MUCH VISIBLE OIL just hanging out on top. The crab Rangoon was completely burnt, and because of that the inside filling was almost nonexistent, I am just absolutely turned off, and I don't think I will ever go back read more

This is our offices go to place for Chinese food that delivers. It's also my go to place for when I feel like Chinese. They do have tables to sit at, but I usually get it to go. Here are the things I have really enjoyed here: Shrimp with lobster sauce Fried rice Egg rolls Wanton soup I can't comment on the general tso chicken since I have never had it, but the items I have had are excellent and no complaints. We have been searching for decent Chinese food since moving to Raleigh last year. This place has been the best, by far around our neighborhood. Front counter was pleasant, food prepared in about 10 minutes and pricing was good compared to the amount of food you receive. Been searching for a good Chinese food place ever since we moved here from NH in 2011. My go to is lo mein and beef teriyaki sticks and so far every place we had tried had overly greasy, overly saucy lo mein. Tried this place because it's around the corner from us and we were pleasantly surprised! This is the closest we have found to "New England style" Chinese food. We will definitely be going back. The lo mein was not swimming in grease, it was just right. Only issue was that the guy got up from his computer with a sigh before walking to the counter to take my husband's order, he seemed annoyed that we were ordering at the counter, but the food we tried is great so we can overlook that. read more

The crab rangoon tasted very fishy and old, and you couldn't taste any cream cheese. The sesame chicken was hard and the texture of the meat was very strange. The sauce tasted like raw garlic and burnt plastic, and the rice was bland. The only nice thing was the egg roll. All of the people writing horrible reviews of this restaurant are either insane or upset because they own other Chinese restaurants in the area. It also could be that they are fans of California Chinese which is very healthy (and bland). I have ordered delivery from Jumbo China on 20-30 occasions in the last couple of years and I have to say that it is JUST as good as Massachusetts Chinese Food. I've lived in 20+ states in the USA over the years, but MA Chinese is the best. Some parts of the country do things better than others, It was like when I moved to Cali and thought I'd get really good Mexican, but it sucked. Or when I moved to NJ/NY and thought I'd get good pizza, and it sucked. Or when I moved to NC and thought I'd get good BBQ and yes, it sucked. Massachusetts has the best Chinese in the country, BUT Jumbo China is continently AWESOME. Someone there, the cook or the owners have spent time in the Northeast. Everything is good here. We LOVE the Rangoons, Fried Wings, Boneless Ribs, Hunan Chicken, Sweet and Sour anything, Lo Mein anything, Rice anything, Beef w/mushroom or broccoli and Orange Beef. Heard they were moving locations. I think they have already changed owners. I have ordeed many times over the years and have a picky vegetable taste family. They are/were great at adhering to the substitution request as follows. "Please substitute onions, green peppers, broccoli, mushrooms, cauliflower for snow peas, green beans, carrots, celery, baby corn. Thanks again" Today they ignored my request entirely. I am throwing out most of he the food, mostly vegetables. As well, I paid the extra for fried rice instead of white rice and that was ignored too. Went in the other day to grab some quick dinner after shopping at Teeter. This place is NASTY!!! The floors are gross and the bathroom is even worse. It didn't have hand towels nor a dryer so I don't even want to know how the workers are drying their hands. They have a 90 sanitation grade and o see why. This is a solid take out Chinese place. The portions are very large and are good interpretations of what you would expect at a take out Chinese. Management goes out of their way when mistakes are made to correct all problems. We eat there on average once a week. read more
