    Shrimp Lo Mein

Double check your shrimp if you happen to get shrimp lo mein, half to most of my shrimp weren't fully deveined. Other than that the food is pretty good!

Just really bad Chinese food. I'm all about the good bad-Chinese. Greasy, bad for you, full of MSG-- we all know it, we all love it. And when it's good, it's really good. Unfortunately, this was just bad-bad Chinese. Roast pork lo mein just didn't taste good. Looked great, tasted off. General Tso's chicken was alright but mostly breading and hardly any chicken. Fried rice that came with it was less than stellar. The egg roll? Maybe the worst I've ever had. Woman behind the counter couldn't have been nicer but this food was not good. Don't waste your time. I know it's cheap and that can be tempting, but it sucks.

Kung Po Chicken Plain Fried Rice Egg Roll

I have been having an extremely hard time finding decent Chinese food in the Durham-Raleigh area. I would definitely say that this has been a top contender in the 4 years I've been here. The rice is a great consistency but needs more flavor. The king pao is cooked but needs more spice. Overall, I think this is a great effort. The egg roll is also good. I will be returning to this establishment to try something new. I believe that the taste issue could be resolved with a sauce. Whether soy sauce or duck sauce. None was offered to me so I didn't think to ask. Also, the food came out very quickly. CASH ONLY.

This place is pretty good. Got the chicken with broccoli combo and pork lo mein. They were hot and fresh. The egg roll was perfect - not dripping with grease like other places. Note that this place accepts CASH only, so be prepared.

Loved the Chinese food. The shrimp rolls Remind me of how they make them at the Chinese restaurants in NYC. Price were low and good was delish.

Although I was weary after reading some reviews I decided to give them a try. We arrived after 10 pm which is their closing time and were still greeted with a smile and given a chance to order. The female lady who works the register was very friendly and gave us time to look over the menu. We placed our order and watched them prepare everything fresh but timely. Everything looks great and portion sizes were typical of every other Chinese takeout I have visited. I was pleased with the excellent service and the food was great and I will definitely eat there again.

House fried rice & wings. Great price!

I came right before a show at the Alamo Drafthouse around the corner, which makes it the perfect night out for dinner and show. It looks like a lot of people order takeout here, but they have ample tables and do offer an excellent dine in service. I loved their green beans and eggplant. All their food felt more authentic and homestyle than your typical run of the mill Chinese place. The food had flavor, and it wasn't overly greasy either! I ordered the lo mein, bamboo flounder fish, and a side of fried rice. Unfortunately, the lo mein was extremely greasy, the fried rice was overly salty, and the shrimp was hard, overcooked and not fresh. When I informed the waiter that I would not be eating the lo mein due to its condition, I was told that I would still have to pay for it and that it did not matter whether I liked it or not. He initially refused to remove the dish from my bill. After eventually taking it off, he told me that he never wanted to see my face again as I was leaving. What disappoints me most is that I genuinely enjoyed this restaurant and had been a repeat customer. The decline in food quality combined with the way my concerns were handled has left a very negative impression. Unfortunately, I will be taking my business elsewhere.

Portions are very generous, and we usually have enough leftovers for a complete meal the next day. It can get crowded during peak times, so I highly recommend a reservation. Two stand-by Chinese starters, Egg Rolls and Crab Rangoon, are a great way to begin any meal. The Egg Rolls are big, crispy and full of flavor. The Crab Rangoon are the best I have had anywhere. These won-won wonders are tender with a silky-smooth Cream Cheese and Crab filing. Imperial Garden does all the basic Chinese Chicken dishes to perfection. The Hunan Chicken, is slightly spicy and stir-fried with a few vegetables in a savory sauce. My grandkids love the Sesame Chicken). These bite-size chunks of Chicken are coated with a thick, sticky, slightly sweet sauce and liberally coated with Sesame Seeds. Two other favorites are General Tso's Chicken - double fried and sautéed with fresh green peppers in spicy sauce and Empress Chicken - marinated chicken, lightly fried and sautéed with broccoli, baby corn, straw mushroom & water chestnuts. Peking Style dishes are another winner. Whether it's Shrimp. Pork, Beef or Chicken; these tender morsels are coated in a tempura-like slurry, stir-fried to perfection and smothered in your favorite sauce. I like the Sweet & Sour Pork version. It comes with a bit of Carrot, Water Chestnut, Bell Pepper and Onion; and is served with either White Rice or Fried rice. Throw in a lightly-hopped ice-cold Tsingtau, sit back, and savor the moment.

I'd recommend parking a few blocks away and walking if you are unable to find parking nearby. Walking into the restaurant you'll be transported to a modern brewery, bookstore, and flower shop. It feels chic, Belgian inspired, and upscale. To start I ordered a Vase IPA which was excellent. I then switched to cocktails and ordered the Black Sesame Old Fashioned (bourbon, black sesame, black walnut bitters), the Dionysus (pinot noir, raspberry lemon shrub, chambord, amaretto, lemon, rhubarb bitters), and an aviation (hendricks, luxardo, creme de violette, lemon). By far the Black Sesame Old Fashioned was my favorite and what a nice touch with cracker on top of the dish. For food we ordered the Gai Lan (Stir-fried Chinese broccoli with garlic and oyster sauce), the Peking Duck (Whole, barbecued, free-range duck served with steamed bao buns, cucumber, scallions, and hoisin-honey sauce), Sweet Soy Chicken (Scallions, bell peppers, and caramelized in our ginger soy sauce. Served with jasmine rice), the Lo Mein Noodles (Stir-fried noodles with julienned shiitake mushrooms, choy sum greens, soy sauce, and shrimp), seafood dumplings (Lobster, shrimp, and scallop dumplings served in garlic and black mushroom sauce with fried Youtiao doughnuts), Chicken Curry Bao (Steamed buns filled with spicy yellow chicken and vegetable curry), the Beef with Longhorn Peopers (Sautéed beef, ginger, and longhorn peppers with Shaoxing wine sauce. Served with jasmine rice), the Xiao Long Bao (Steamed crab and ground pork soup dumplings), Nasi Goreng Crab Fried Rice (Traditional Indonesian Chinese fried rice with blue crab meat, Nam Pla fish sauce, house made Nasi Goreng sauce, served in an egg crêpe), and the General Tso's Chicken (Crunchy, sweet, and tangy, Bhavana's General Tso comes with your choice of chicken or tofu tossed in our house-made General sauce and topped with sesame seeds. Served with jasmine rice). By far our favorite food items were the seafood dumplings (excellent flavor, Chinese donuts were so good, along with the flavor from the broth), and the shrimp lo mein noodles (cooked perfectly and the sauce was perfectly distributed). Definitely check out brewery bhavana if you are looking for excellent Chinese food in the Raleigh area. This is by far one of my favorite restaurants in the area.

We met my coworker and her partner here for dinner, and I was grateful we had a reservation because this spot was poppin' on a Monday night! The dining room is huge, but the decor breaks things up a bit and makes your meal feel intimate. Everything is shareable, so I highly recommend visiting with fellow foodies who want to try a little bit of everything. Honestly the entire menu sounded amazing, and it was hard to choose! Thankfully our servers provided some excellent recommendations. The Pork Bao was probably my favorite bite of the night, and may very well have been the best Bao I've ever had. The Lap Cheung Fried Rice was also delicious, and I'm usually not a fried rice person! Also worth mentioning is the Lo Mein, which we ordered with chicken. We didn't stay for dessert, but all of their sweet offerings sounded incredible as well. I did try one of the beers they brew on-site, the Sow. It was light and sippable, and I appreciate their diverse beer and cocktail offerings. I can't wait to visit Raleigh again because this will be my first stop!

I ordered the cold flour noodle with sesame sauce and the shaanxi mutton soak buns. Both were tasty and the cold noodles were refreshing. The employee described the mutton soak buns dish as a soup soaked pancake which is pretty accurate. It reminds me of a rice porridge but with chopped dough instead of rice. The restroom is in the back through the kitchen which is kinda cool because you can see them rolling out all the round flat bread that they use for the dishes. I'm guessing it's what they use for the rougamo (I've seen it at other Chinese restaurants described as a Chinese hamburger) and the shaanxi soak buns. It almost has a gnocchi type of consistency. It isn't your average fried rice and stir fry type of Chinese restaurant so if you're looking for something like that it might not meet your expectations. This place. THIS PLACE!…read more I don't know how I lucked into having two good Chinese restaurants this close together, but I am honestly not going to question it. First, this place has the best egg rolls I've tasted in the past 10 years. Crispy. Delicious. No extra residual grease or oil, and perfect spicing. Second, everything here is a cut above the other Chinese restaurants in the take-out category, and will unfortunately lower my previous favorite to a four star, on update. Third (And this is best part): They offer off-menu specials (like sauced wings), Thai dishes (like pad thai, and spicy basil with chicken), and Hibachi Steak and Chicken! All the good stuff in one stop. I ordered my usual test: Sesame Chicken platter with fried rice and egg roll. Fried Dumplings. And a side order of egg rolls. A couple things will hit you here, the first being the rice... It's cooked perfectly, and unlike any other you've had in the area: Soft, flavorful, with a bit of oil from cooking that makes it even more flavorful, but still NOT GREASY. There's some left-handed magic going on here, and I don't care to know how they obtained the secret. It'sdelicious. The sauce on the sesame chicken was light and flavorful, while keeping the chicken crispy.... And it didn't turn into gum after the chicken cooled. The dumplings were lightly fried, and sauced with what I think was a sweet and sour/fish sauce blend with scallions. Amazing. Not the usual dark, soy sauced based dipping ingredients. The egg rolls: I mentioned them earlier. 10 out of 10. The true test - LEFTOVERS. Ate all of these the next day, after overnight refrigeration. The egg rolls were still crispy, without tasting like rancid oil. Sesame chicken was still fantastic, as were the dumplings. Bottom Line: Get down here. I'm going to try as much as I can afford. The new King of East Coast Chinese takeout (and possibly other Asian foods --- Finger's crossed) in the area. Extra: I noticed something on the menu called "mambo sauce", which is evidently a favorite in D.C. restaurants. They offer it on wings, on shrimp, on everything imaginable. And in talking with the owners, I found out that they are from D.C. And my love for D.C. (and the sadly closed Mr. Chen's Organic Chinese) is well known. Praise Jesus!
