Came here the other day for take out when I was in the area. The food took about 10 minutes to be ready, and it was piping hot so it felt cooked to order. Service was kind and the inside of the restaurant seemed spacious although a little outdated. I got the General Tso's Chicken combination plate with pork fried rice and it was delicious! The sauce on the chicken was amazing, the rice was very good, and they did not skimp on the meat serving size. The price was also very reasonable ($10.29). The only reason I'm not giving this 5 stars is because my friend got the fried chicken combination plate with pork fried rice, and the fried chicken pieces looked small and my friend who has a shellfish allergy said they tasted like they might have been cooked with/near shellfish. Overall: great prices for great food, I probably wouldn't recommend the fried chicken wing plate but the dish I had was great (and if you have a shellfish allergy let the staff know!) read more

We've been customers for years but tonight we are reserving a great review as our hot and sour soup was mediocre. Scant tofu and missing mushrooms, not as spicy as was previously. Shrimp spring rolls are delicious tho. Think twice about their soup! read more

Food portions were generous but rice was hard (old? Undercooked?). Egg roll crunchy and hot. The bad rice and less than appealing atmosphere killed it for me. read more

Rough around the edges, but it does the job. They are extremely popular with all the various delivery app services so if you order from here on a Friday or Saturday at peak times, be ready to wait. I had the general tso chicken with pork fried rice and egg roll. The chicken was great. Great portion, had crunch and good quality meat overall. The yellow fried rice is not what I am accustomed to coming from Northeast Chinatown style Chinese. Lack flavor and was not the best. If you're pork fried rice person, I'd suggest subing for something else. Egg roll was awesome. Chicken Lo Mein was good. I'd order it again. Way better than the fried rice. Egg Drop Wonton Soup was awesome. Their soup was probably my favorite I've had in NC from a takeout spot. Highly recommend. The soup was very flavorful and the wontons were also great. Overall, probably one of the best take out options in apex - minus the pork fried rice. Perfect if you need just a quick take out craving. read more

Good, dependable Americanized Chinese fare. All the favorites with consistent taste. When we moved from Cary our go to Chinese restaurant was Eastern China across from Park West. One China gives us the same menu, taste and quality. read more

I saw a post stating this was I good Chinese establishment so I thought I'd give it a try. I ordered the king pan chicken combo for $10.29. It comes with an egg roll and fried rice. I am not crazy about rice so I wanted to substitute rice for lo mein. They said that is not a problem but they did say that they cannot do half and half. I don't understand why, do a little rice and a little mein, done. Both are starch fillers. Being exposed to the food industry and catering I know that is a low cost item and both almost equal. I also ordered a soda. The total came to over $14. They charged me $1 for substitution. I don't understand that. The customer service was lacking. The kitchen process is the same. Also, my chicken was just the orange chicken with a different sauce. It was also over cooked. I must say there was a lot of chicken though. And king paid is hot. This dish didn't even have flavor. It is a very small restaurant and they stored their drinks out in the hallway. I was very disappointed and will never come back here. It was read more

#1 China, W Williams st Apex. Placed order at 5p. Arrived at 525p waited in line to pay. Paid at 538p Asked to step aside. I realize now order was done but was set aside near pick up window. Waited 25 min as other orders came and went. I asked twice to check status. Clerk tool care of others. I demanded service. They finally realized order was sitting fir 30 min at pick up window. No apologies. Younger lady just asked " Do you want the food or not" because I stated order was no longer fresh. I took order. Food was barely warm but tasty . Very poor service . I understand mistakes happen but no attempt to satisfy and no apology offered. Older lady at counter not capable to handle business. Next time I will only pay when they hand me the order. read more

Nice family owned restaurant, decent food, decent prices. Order from there often. Saw other reviews complain about flavour, not true. You can't expect a $50 dish for $8. Obviously not a formal restaurant. Fast preparation times. No complaints. read more

Second time called in for delivery with an outside service, I call to edit/add on and every time this same guy answers the phone with a terrible attitude and cuts me off then hangs up the phone on me. I called back today to tell him that it was a simple order that I just needed to add a sauce to my order and that he hung up the phone prior and he says - is that all you need (?) and continued to hang the phone up on me, yet again. Always great food and fast service but they just NEED to work on their customer service. read more

Pretty bad quality Chinese food, even for this area. Was about the most bland Chinese food we've had. If not for the abundance of grease I it would have had no flavor at all. Took a lot of chili and soy sauce to make this palatable. read more

We get food from here every month. It is by far the best Chinese takeout around. We could drive 10-15 miles and get better, but not worth the difference. The people who work there are really nice. The food is not overly greasy and has fresh flavor. It appears to be cooked to order. The kids are not crazy about it and there is no Kids Menu. But they will eat the rice and something from home. I get the veggie tofu, not fried tofu. It's nice that have a choice. Tonight I am trying the #49 mei fun. We'll see! read more

Every now and then, you just crave Chinese take-out even though you know it's not good for you. Well, if that's your situation, #1 China is a good place to go. It's just your typical Chinese menu that you see just about everywhere. I've tried their Shrimp Lo Mein and their General Tso's. We liked their Lo Mein a lot, but their General Tso's was just okay. I did appreciate that they asked when I was going to pick it up so that it wouldn't be sitting around too long. Chinese food is tossed together so quickly that sometimes it's cold by the time I make it there. Prices were on par with just about every other place but service is as good as it gets for a take-out joint. I'd like to mention that although Yelp has this place listed as "One China" it actually says #1 China on the storefront. read more

Absolutely horrible, all dishes flaverless and not cooked fresh to order. We ordered 5 dishes to go and all disgusting. Soggy chicken with extra sweet sauce thrown on it. Worst Chinese food I have ever had. Guy at the register clueless and playing on his phone other than answering my questions. Thumbs down! read more

Pros: Fast service Standard variety of Americanized dishes Friendly staff Cons: Forgettable food I ordered the General Tso's Chicken combination plate (which comes with pork fried rice and a pork egg roll). Standard American...I know. I also added on an order of the crab rangoon. The General Tso's Chicken was meh. I wasn't impressed, but it was good enough that I ate it. The pork egg roll was a standard egg roll and edible as well. The pork fried rice I would definitely never order again. I took about 5 bites of it and decided that it just wasn't worth choking down. I ate the crab rangoon's as well, but won't order them again either. 50% of my order I deemed I would order again if I chose to go here. 25% of my order I deemed inedible/not worth suffering through. They met my expectations for a strip mall suburbanite Chinese place. Don't go in expecting anything amazing and you'll be fine. It's a step above frozen, boxed Chinese food. read more

Great place for vegans to eat because none of the meat is real!!! I took one bite of their "chicken" and realized immediately that it was fake soy based imitation of chicken. I threw out the meal immediately and went somewhere else to eat. The lady was rude and had no sense of customer service , but that wasn't even the worst part. Their food is of crappy quality and not even worth a dime. Just go somewhere else read more

The most trash place with the most trash customer service if I could give this place no stars I would. Their customer service is terrible she was rude from the beginning of the phone she told me she couldn't put soy sauce in my to go order because I had to do it myself which was fine. Then she messed up my order and tried to convince me that I ordered it like that??? She made me bring back the food they messed up which normal restaurants wouldn't even take back the food once it's been given out. She made me pay the difference which is fine but I told her I shouldn't even be paying anything after everything she put me through. She tried to take back the food and tell me to go elsewhere but I did not have time for that so I told her that I'll pay the difference this time. After I told her that this isn't the proper way to run a business she was rude and referred to me as "girl" and called me crazy. Long story short, their service is trash and I will not be returning and no one should ever step foot in this place. read more

Best fried rice I've ever had, the sweet and sour chicken had the crunch you want with fried food, very nice lady working the counter

I'm new in town and had a craving for Chinese food. Did a little Google search and this little gem popped up. This is a family-owned restaurant with great food and amazing service. Got the lunch special of Mongolian beef with pork fried rice and for an extra $0.50 they included an egg roll. They food was all cooked the moment I ordered. By the time I got home it was still pipping hot! And the portions were so big I could only eat half! For less than $7.00 I have 2 meals. Love it! read more

This place is indeed #1 in crappy service. My wife went once and received an attitude for "taking too long" to order. Another time, guy rolled his eyes at me after I corrected the charge (almost got charged $8.48 for $4.49 item). read more

Guy working there is a total jerk. He's very snappy, short and rude. I sat at a table, the only person in the restaurant, with the intention of eating in. He got my order ready in a to-go container, bagged it up and gave a grumpy "have a nice day". The food ended up being terrible anyway. All of it, rice included, thrown into one bowl. Best orange chicken in Apex., I typically order it crispy and it's just mouth watering. I have been ordering food from them for 10 years. They are very sweet and hard working. The food is very good. The only problem I had was last week when I ordered over the phone for p/u and was told 50 minutes which was not the problem. I showed up about an hour later and that small store had about 7 people crammed into that small space waiting for p/u's. Including me (after I reluctantly went in), were only two people wearing masks. Everyone was at most a foot apart. I feel if they can't control that somehow like the other food places, they need to close until they can. I won't go back...... read more

Shrimp with mixed vegetables, one of the easiest dishes to make. I spit it out then sent it down the garbage disposal. Never again.

Found a tooth/bone in food!! I do not write Yelp reviews regularly but appreciate the site to keep me informed on local restaurants. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. This past Tuesday we ordered vegetable egg foo young, pepper steak an General Tao's Tofu. All the dishes were acceptable and good except the General Tao's did not taste like most places but it was edible. As we were eating, my daughter said "Eww, I just bit something hard in my egg foo young." When she took it out it looked like a bad tooth or a bone shaped like a tooth. We immediately threw all our food away. This has NEVER happened to us. I tried to call the restaurant to let them know what happen and I did not want anything just to let them know we will NEVER eat at their establishment and to make sure they practice sanitary health department rules. When I called I asked to speak to a manager and the woman said "busy right now, can't talk" and hung up. My husband said obviously they are not a professional establishment, just write a Yelp review and let it go. Please think twice before eating at this restaurant. Thanks read more

Not great food or service, so I would only go there if I was in a rush and I had to have Chinese. In other words, go somewhere else.

This place is pretty much just like every other Chinese take-out place, which in a way is a good thing because you know what to expect. My orders have come out fast, hot, and fresh every single time so it's now my preferred take-out spot. They do crab rangoons particularly well here. If other Chinese places have not been up to par for you, give this place a try. read more

This is the best takeout Chinese food that I've found in the area. The chicken and broccoli is my go to dish, and their sauce is the best I've had for takeout. Everything is very fresh and cooked to order. You can asked for plain friend rice with any dish as well if you don't want the standard white rice. The only problem I've ever had was them not hearing my order correctly and making the wrong thing when I've called on the phone. I've also noticed they don't always ask for my name if I call so maybe that has something to do with it as well. A lot of times now, I'll just go in to order, shop at harris teeter while they cook, and then pick it up when my shopping is done instead of calling over the phone. read more

They used to be the best around, but it breaks my heart to say they have declined over the past year. Portions are getting smaller to the point where the containers aren't full over the past few trips. General Tso's has small pieces of chicken that are dry with almost all breading. We were the only order at the time of pickup this last time and items were left out. I will give them another chance, but it's going to be about 6 months... I'm hopeful they can turn it around (PLEASE - don't sacrifice your quality for a couple dollars... It will lose your loyal customer base!) read more

I stopped here on my way home for the first time due to the 4.5 star rating & the reviews. I will never return. A simple order of general tso & cashew chx were impossible to tell apart - more sugar in the cashew chx perhapps. It should have been named cashew celery & carrots, since chx was hard to find . They do not offer brown rice & didn't have green beans on the menu. Tasteless , soggy, overly breaded just very disappointing, normal bad chinese.
