Hunan Chicken and Shrimp Egg roll
    Scott H.

I visited Asian Garden for the first time a few days ago. As with all shopping center Chinese places, I ordered the Hunan Chicken with steamed rice and a shrimp egg roll. The food was ready when I got there and they keep your order in an insulated bad behind the counter to keep it warm. That's a very nice touch That I've never seen before. From checking in on Yelp, I also got a free fountain drink as well. The Hunan chicken was cooked very nicely and with an appropriate amount of heat. The vegetable medley was crisp, but not mushy. The egg roll was flaky on the outside with juicy cabbage and some shrimp. Also very flavorful. Outside there is a nice shaded patio area to boot. I had a very good experience and will be back when in the area.

Order: Shrimp Toast + Shrimp Lo Mein LO MEIN: The shrimp lo mein was very tasty and made with love. Perfect amount of seasoning; I really loved the scallions / green onions, and amount of shrimp. Nice slices of carots. I finish it all! Though I thought there would be more lol. SHRIMP TOAST: I was unable to eat the shrimp toast. It's mainly onion inside; which left this disgusting taste in my mouth from the first bite. This WAS my first time trying shrimp toast; which I did not expect finely grained onion. Each bite of the toast felt like I was eating an entire onion. They are cooked to be edible; I was munching on them the entire time. .. I had to spit it out. I'm not sure if I'll be back.

Nice, small, Asian restaurant near the Tanger Outlets area. Has a wide mix of Asian cuisines, from sushi and hibachi, to pad Thai. I opted for the chicken hibachi lunch meal which was a great deal for the price. Good portion sizes, and the lunch portions also come with salad or soup! The food came out very quickly and it was pretty good! Nothing to complain about, but nothing outstanding. A decent pick if you're looking for asian food in the area.

This is your typical Chinese/American type place. Cheap lunch menu. Food average but hot at least. Feels a bit cleaner than most of these places. Weird thing is the 2 people working here must be husband and wife, and the absolutely hate each other, they were screaming at each other the whole time, which was entertaining due to the big window which allows you to see what's going on in the kitchen! Hopefully they seek some marriage counseling, lol!

Very good, mom and I both had a fantastic dinner. Szechuan beef had a nice zing and the chicken and vegetables had good chicken and a lot of veggies as well. We will be back

Today, we had delivery ordered: Combination plates - which included rice and an egg roll or spring roll. 1. Curry Chicken 4/5 - tender chicken, a lot of flavor! A little on the spicy side, but the flavor profile is good for a Chinese restaurant. They had veggies in there, that I could leave out. Ask for only onions and the chicken in the sauce (if anything). 2. Chicken lo mein 3/5 - the chicken again was very tender. They give ALOT for your money. Wasn't overly flavorful - kinda of your basic lo mein add chicken. It wasn't oily - that's a plus as well.

Ordered pad Thai and veggie pad see ew. Both were probably the worst Thai dishes I've ever tasted. Pad Thai was drenched in oil and teriyaki sauce, THATS IT for the sauces. Making it very sweet and none edible. The pad see ew was very dry and had no flavor outside of some sweet sauce but still very dry. No egg either but some bean sprouts which don't even go with pad see ew. I did order some white hibachi sauce for a dollar and it was so runny and flavorless... the only good thing was the fires because they were fresh but those had no flavor either. Overall, they'll never have to worry about my money coming through there again. Hate that there are NO GOOD thai options that deliver downtown.

    Spicy Basil Chicken Lunch
    Lori R.

Counter-service spot that's serving up tasty Asian food for a very reasonable price. Stopped in for lunch, ordered at the counter. Sat at a booth and watched the Chef wok out some good-looking eats. Really enjoyed my Spicy Basil Chicken lunch loaded with peppers and onions, served with a decent fried rice. Liked the bottled Ginger Water drink option. Disliked the super thin plastic fork and that no knives were available. Next time I would probably do take-out and use my own utensils. Generous portion with the bottled drink was under nine bucks (before tip) for lunch. Nice variety on the menu. Plenty of parking as they are in a strip mall in Cary. Would definitely go back if in the area.

The shirt on the server who guided me to my table through the well-lit, open space read "Ask me…read moreabout 2.99". So I did. This is the price of their house marg. So, of course, I ordered one. A minute or two later, it was in front of me - a goblet filled to the salty brim with a well balanced blend of tequila, lime juice, triple sec and ice. Everyone else at the table followed suit, but the service wasn't so instant. More on this later. We were a group of 9, with reservations. The table was nicely located and not off in a corner. There were 2- and 4-tops all around us. Another long table, this one bar height, butted the end of our regular height table. The servers soon separated them for easier access. Goji y Agave is the product of a partnership between a Mexican chef and an Asian one. There are two menus for food, but you can mix and match between them. Several of us ordered a little from each. Few of us could finish our entrees, the portions were so plentiful! An early snag was placing an order for nine drinks at once - the bar was overloaded, and the servers couldn't get them out together. This created a bottleneck where we could see them on the bar, but could not get to them. Folks were thirsty! This repeated when bringing out food. Once the food arrived, it was amazing, but it was a long wait getting all the orders for a large party together and out at once. Fortunately, it was early on a non-weekend night. Sadly, things were still delayed. But I still recommend going, just maybe don't take the whole gang at once!

i loved the meal i had here a couple of weeks ago!…read more my mom and i came in on a sunday night and were seated right away. the service was great from start to finish and the place is really cute. we started with the "like a vegan" sushi roll and the spinach gyoza. i really loved the sushi, but the gyoza was UNREAL. the filling was soft but the outside was chewy and lightly crunchy from its pan-fry; one of my favorite dumpling dishes i think ive ever had. for entrees, i ordered the geisha rice bowl and my mom had the green curry, both with tofu. these are slightly pricey dishes but the portions are enormous; we barely got through 1/4 and saved the rest for leftovers the next day, where they held up just as well. we ended with the yuzu cheesecake with mango coulis - a stunning dessert! lightly tart and fruity, and smooth and creamy as well. i also got a lychee limeade mocktail and that was super nice too. literally every aspect of this experience was excellent and i would do it all over again! if they add more vegan options to the menu that would be a bonus but the existing ones are so good that i don't even care that much. so glad i tried this place out!!

Bottom line: Zest was a pleasant lunch experience overall. With a large menu selection, there's…read moresomething for most everyone. I liked my gyoza dumplings and spicy tuna sushi roll for starters (but the sushi was a bit too spicy just for me). My favorite was the Katsu Chicken entree that turned out very well and I enjoyed it. Besides having to exchange out our beginning set of dishes when seated which was gladly done, service went well here during the meal. The Deets: I met up with some friends here at Zest for lunch before heading over to check out "The American Revolution Experience" over at Downtown Cary Park. The restaurant space and setup is very nice and can be for both a casual meal or one a bit more special, with outside and inside seating as well as a dedicated sushi bar area. We were seated promptly for our lunch reservation and our server introduced himself while taking drink orders (of which I got the Strawberry Basil Fizz mocktail, it was very nice) as we perused our menus. Zest has quite the menu selection with a bit of everything to please any taste including a wide selection of small plates/starters as well as sushi and entrees size dishes also. I went with starting out with their gyoza dumplings and a spicy tuna sushi roll. The gyoza were nicely done and out pretty quickly, I liked them. The spicy tuna sushi roll came next and I usually find that at places "spicy tuna" can mean either a hint of spice for flavor or a full-on very spicy experience depending on the establishment. With Zest, it was the latter and in retrospect I think I should have gone with the regular tuna roll instead here but it was a good sushi roll with a bit of cucumber for a crunch. I decided on getting the Katsu Chicken for my main entree. The chicken was done nice and golden brown, tasted excellent with the accompanying sauce. The veggies stayed crisp/crunchy even though cooked and I liked that a lot. One of my friends got the Thai Shrimp Tacos and I noted these were very large shrimp with plenty of sauce on them. However another friend got the Lobster Tacos and remarked that hers lacked sufficient sauce for her tastes. I have to note the one main hiccup encountered here was at the beginning where one of my friends remarked on noticing that the sauce dishes and plates placed on our table before we sat down did not appear clean. We stacked them all up and asked the server to exchange them all out, which he happily did to our satisfaction. Other than that, I had a pretty good experience here for lunch at Zest and would gladly stop by again to dine.

Noodle Blvd is located in a spot that you could easily miss, but it's easy to get back on track. I pulled into the gas station parking lot beside the restaurant, then just turned right into the restaurant parking lot. The parking lot is fairly small, so be warned about that. My friend was there when I arrived, and he sat at the bar. When I walked in the door, I was greeted with smiles and waves. It was very inviting, which is fitting for a ramen restaurant. My friend ordered us Lychee Margaritas, and oh my goodness, it was so good! We decided to visit right at opening on a Saturday, so the bartender was still preparing some of the ingredients needed for the margarita. The bartender informed us that it's usually better once a key ingredient sits for a while, but I loved the drink regardless. I ordered edamame for an appetizer, which came quickly and was good! Since I've never had ramen before, I asked our server what he recommended, and he told me about some of their most popular dishes. He told me the N9. Chicken Curry Ramen was a favorite of his and the patrons, so I decided to order that. It came quickly, and I was immediately in HEAVEN upon my first bite. I loved every bite after! I decided to play it safe with the spice and got level 2, but I can definitely go up a level or 2 since I love spicy. Highly recommend, and I will be back! The short rib ramen was good, but the noodles were short, like they were cut or made short on purpose. The shrimp shumai was disappointing. Small bite sized portions, but they were soft. After cutting into one, I found out that they use rice as a filler with a bit of shrimp. I've never seen rice used in shumai, unless it's Shanghai sticky rice shumai.
