Imperial Garden has long been my go-to place for Chinese food, but over my last few visits, I have noticed that the quality of the meat has gone down The restaurant layout is split into two rooms. The first room features booths and an elevated seating section, while the second room has tables for larger groups. The decor is simple and traditional. The service here is still very good. Although I haven't gotten my favorite waitress during my last few visits, she made a point to come over and talk to me this last time. She even remembered my exact order and that I like it prepared without onions, which I truly appreciated! Unfortunately, the beef itself seemed a little rubbery. A few of the pieces were completely fine, so I am not sure whether the meat was just overcooked or had sat under a heat lamp too long before being served. The fried rice seemed better than ever, though, as was the eggroll. I think I will need to start trying some new vegetarian or alternative dishes here on my next visits to avoid the meat, as I still really enjoy the local atmosphere and excellent service.

Soup dumplings were flavorful with all the right spices, as was the chicken tso- not spicy in our case but just absolutely packed with flavor. Cute, relaxed, casual space with neat decor. I went for dinner on a Saturday and it was packed so expect a slight wait at peak hours. Parking can also be tight as it is located downtown. We were seated quickly and our food came out FAST! Great service. My friend and I shared the Scallion Pancake, Bang Bang Shrimp, Dry-Sautéed Green Beans, and Spicy Crispy Fish. We definitely got one too many dishes, but I am glad we got to try them. The Scallion Pancake was solid. It had the right amount of thinness and flakiness. I would love to taste more scallion next time, though. I think that the sauce that it came with was a bit sweet and I would rather a more savory or saltier sauce to pair with the pancake. The Bang Bang Shrimp was under the appetizer category but it looked like an entree. Lots of small shrimp in a creamy, sweet, and spicy chili sauce. I loved it! The Dry-Sauteed Green Beans were probably my least favorite dish. I wish it had a taste (or more of a taste) of soy sauce or garlic, but it was still decent. The Crispy Spicy Fish is definitely one of the most popular dishes here and it lived it up to the hype! Not sure what seasonings were on the fish, but it tasted a bit salty, spicy, and savory. The fish also tasted fresh to me. We also received complimentary rice, which was needed with our savory dishes! I would definitely come back here in the future! There are so many options for food on their menu and almost everything was a hit. Plus, service was fantastic. I recommend going with a large group to do family style and really try a lot of the menu items.

Often times I find that the little red pepper on many Chinese menus mean nothing. Here, they mean "this is going to be really spicy!" I have been told that you ask for something that isn't on the menu, they can often gladly make it for you. So... yeah. TBH -- the more American-Chinese dishes aren't anything special. I had someone's General Tsao and it was way spicier than most (which was great) but really, really, goopy and sugary (which wasn't.) All in all, if you're adventurous, and you're tired of the same old American-Chinese I would give this place a run and I would actually avoid those items on the menu should you dine here.

So I had to check out the hype, and it didn't disappoint. I enjoyed the positive messages all over the restaurant. It isn't fancy and has the hole-in-the-wall charm, which generally means amazing food. The restaurant has outdoor seating, booths in the front and another small dining area further back that you can't see from the front. They also seemed to have a pretty active takeout business. The menu is a mixture of Thai, Chinese and Vietnamese. The menu was larger than I expected, and they have $9.99 lunch options and $11.99 dinner options. I arrived before they opened and looked at the menu on the door. I decided on the Triple Delight, but it wasn't on the inside menu; they made it for me anyway. It was shrimp, chicken and beef with a mixture of veggies, and I got fried rice for an extra charge. It was delicious, and the flavors were great. The portion was large enough that I got three meals from it. They offer plenty of teas, but others in the group wanted coffee, which they do not offer. They do offer Coke products. Service was friendly and attentive. I look forward to my next meal here.

I've had the pleasure of eating some really good dim sum, and while I can admit that the dim sum here will never be as good as places in New York, I can say that they do a decent job and that the experience will be enjoyable for any eater. Rather than delivering dishes on the traditional cart, Dim Sum Asian Bistro uses a menu where you can mark off the dishes that you want. There are a lot of different steamed, fried, and a la carte options that you can choose from. A lot of the basics are done pretty well. They have good pan fried dumplings, shrimp dumplings, shao mai, and coconut pudding. They also have some other, complex dishes that we really enjoy. Their curry powder turnip cake is some of the best out there. The curry flavor pops and the fry is absolutely perfect. Crispy on the outside, but warm and soft on the inside. They also make their chicken feet really well, which is a tough one to do sometimes. I know that there will be some good options. Although Dim Sum Asian Bistro has some good things, they also serve some things that you would just be better off not ordering. They have three different types of rice crepe dishes with meat. Their best is easily the shrimp, and you should stick to that. In fact, I would avoid the beef version at all costs, it is made with a beef paste and the texture was so strange, it was kind of unappetizing! I also think their fried rice could use some work, and I think some items, like their custard buns, could have come from the frozen section. I think my family can be pretty critical about dim sum since it has been a big part of our personal culture. However, sometimes I feel I need to take a step back and look at it broadly. I've come here with some of my friends who don't eat dim sum consistently and they are always wowed by the experience. From that perspective, I can see how this place hits the mark. They serve pretty authentic food and make it taste good. There is always a buzz about the restaurant and people come and go over the weekend. It's no wonder you might have to wait to get a table, Dim Sum Asian Bistro is definitely doing something right!

This place is completely different. You choose from several options of meal sizes and then you pick all of the meat and veggies from a giant list for each plan. At first I was worried we would run out of food...it just didn't seem like it would be a lot. But we ended up taking a ton of food home and we had 8 people and we got the combo for six!! I was actually worried about being full myself since I'm keto and I don't eat some of the items but I was plenty satisfied. They have a make your own sauce bar with a ton of offerings. Can't go wrong with peanut sauce and soy with some green onions. Perfect dipper. We also got two soup bases, one spicy one plain and they were both great. Service is really good. One of the kids dropped a tray of meat and they gave us another without asking which was very kind of them. All of the food comes on a cart and there really isn't a ton of room on the table for all of it so we were shifting plates around a lot and they would come by and take the empty or dirty plates very quickly. Drinks were never empty and everyone was friendly. It is a bit of an upscale style for a hot pot restaurant with some asian flair such as the Japanese toy vending machines. You can buy tokens for them at the desk, I think it was 6 for $5. Again, one of the kids dropped one under the machines and they just gave us another. I don't think any of them won anything anyway. I would definitely come back here for a date night but this place excels with groups and is very affordable with a big group so that's what I'd lean into if I was picking a hot pot restaurant.

The delicious smells wafting through the restaurant immediately let me know that I was in the right place. I ordered the Fatty Beef Szechuan Hotpot Yunnan Rice Noodle & Fried Dumplings. Both arrived in no time, and were piping hot on a cold winter's day. The fried dumplings were crispy, not at all greasy, and filled with very flavorful filling, coupled with a perfectly paired dipping sauce. The hotpot... oh, the hotpot, was filled with pillowy fried tofu, fatty and tender beef, cabbage, wood ear mushroom shreds, seaweed, bean sprouts, and a ton of noodles. All of this was swimming in some of the most amazing Szechuan peppercorn broth that was spicy, but not numbing and not overpowering. It was the perfect broth to wrap each ingredient in flavor. After I finished all of the delicious beef and veggies, I went for the noodles. I never really new what "bouncy" meant when describing noodles until today. They were truly bouncy in with every bite, silky smooth, tender but with a little bit of bite to them. I ate every morsel that I could fit in my stomach and not explode... this was the perfect winter dish for this South Florida eater.

The quail egg was the heart of it. Got the bone broth this time. While the broth is good, it's not great to the point I'd crave for this. I'm honestly not a big fan of the rice noodles but they went well with the broth. My girl got the noodle dish with the beef tripe, and we also ordered beef tripe for appetizer and milky rice cake for dessert. The beef tripe is one of our favorite appetizers, and it's perfect with Japanese beer. The noodles are a bit spicy but the spice level was adjusted low to my girl's liking. The rice cakes were good but not the best we've tried. It's something we'd order again though.
