Smelled good as I was waking by so I decided "hey, why not let's check it out", plus they had an every day lunch soecials, so I was going to see if I would make it in time. I didn't. It ends at 3pm daily. I figured I had missed it but it never hurts to try, right? Anyhow, the piercing was still really reasonable and I knew I felt like staying in for the evening, so I ordered some to go. I got the triple delight and the small chicken lo mein. It took about 15 minutes to get ready. Inside they have a few tables agree some people were sitting and eating and others were sitting while waiting for their to go orders. The food was nice and hot when I got home. I had to actually let it cool which is nice beverages other places seem to be cold by the time you get home. When it was time to eat the did was delish. It had great flavorand the meat was tender. It wasn't dry at all. The rice was a good consistency. Even though the lo mein was " small" on their menu, it was the perfect size for a full meal! This hole in the wall of a shopping center is delicious! I wasn't sure about them at first. When I placed my order, I ordered Sesame Chicken for my mom and the Orange vegetarian option (bean-curd maybe?) for myself. Apparently, the worker who took my order assumed I only wanted to order vegetarian, and just made me the Sesame vegetarian option. Thankfully, I checked my bag before leaving and realized I was missing a dish, and the dish I had was not the one I ordered. I bought a Sesame Chicken and was told that orange veg is the same as Sesame veg, only it has sesame seeds on it... riiiight. I had just finished unloading my 26 foot UHAUL after driving for two days straight. I was starving and did not care what she gave me as long as my dish was vegetarian. My Sesame Veg was really, really good! They did not skimp out on the protein! I think there were only like three peices of actual vegetable in the dish, but they were at the bottom of the bowl, soaking in the sauce and so good. Mom says her sesame chicken was just as delicious! If I am ever back in this area (we were dropping off the UHAUL), I will be back! Maybe I'll see if the orange veg actually tastes like Sesame veg... This food is not good. It is not good. My egg rolls were full of raw wrapper dough. The "fried rice" was bright yellow (????) and had zero flavor. The orange chicken was mostly gristle+fat. The inside is dated and seedy and a customer got aggro with me because i got into line while he sat at a table (he was on his phone and seated but i was supposed to magically know he was in line). While i was there, i saw a cook use an ungloved hand to reach into a takeout container of cooked food, pull out a big handful of something and throw it in the garbage. He reached back in, rummaged around some more, and threw some more of whatever it was into the garbage. I would've left then if I hadn't already placed and paid for my order. Just go anywhere else. Even if you want really cheap American Chinese shovelfood, and need it to be kind of grody, okay, fine--but there are other places in the area and even across the street. Go there. I assume you are on Yelp because you have some standard for the food you pay good money for and then put inside yourself and your loved ones. Honor that impulse. I decided to get a quick lunch special from this hole in the wall place nestled in between a tattoo parlor and Walmart. I expected absolutely nothing, I was surprised to get a tasty, fresh, and well cooked meal. I got beef with mixed vegetables and it was delicious. The vegetables were large, evenly cooked, varied and fresh. They even included a little corn on the cobs. The beef was in large pieces and clearly a higher quality than what most Chinese restaurants serve. The sauce was delicious. The serving size was generous. My Sanitation concerns first --- I have a Love-Hate relationship with Asian food restaurants. After several visits to Emergency Depts.,over the years, for food borne illnesses associated with eating at Asian restaurants I finally began paying attention to the posted Health Dept. ratings. I have eaten food from New China 4 times.So far, so good --no associated food borne infections.Then the last time I went, I saw a lady pick up a Spring roll with her bare hand and toss it over to the stove work station.In addition the same lady was using ladle to dip out a sauce from a huge bucket on the floor, that remained open, as she went back and forth between that task and taking orders. I am not crazy about that bucket being so low as trash could easily fall into it---but apparently that has not bothered the Health Dept. person doing the Sanitation rating . It was in direct view of all the Customers.....I will not be ordering any Spring or Egg rolls in the future. Not after seeing the great toss maneuver . Now to the food-- The food is good ! The lunch entrees come with fried rice unless you specifically ask for White rice. White rice will be stuffed into a small container sep. from the entree. ( it will look small but be more than adequate for the entree size). The Cook has a light hand with his Wok as you can individually taste the flavor of each item . The carrots taste like carrots . Bok Choy ditto. The beef and chicken are also cooked with a light touch.Not greasy . No weird gristle or tough poultry. I am very impressed with the Cook! Bottom Line -- I will keep going and rec, eating at New China. The food is tasty. For the most past it follows appropriate sanitation . The food quite tasty. The Veggies were cooked perfectly, not overcooked and greasy like other Chinese restaurants in Cary NC. They offered an abundant amount of Veggies in the fried rice. The chicken was cooked well and also much healthier than other places because it was not swimming in salt and grease. The service was very polite and the restaurant was clean and quite. My third time going to this location and I have been very pleased all three times. Don't eat here! These people are crooks! Pork Lo Mein costs 30 cents more than pork fried rice BUT if you get a combo and ask for Lo Mein instead of pork fried rice they will give you PLAIN Lo Mein and charge you $2.00 extra. Crazy! On the top left of the menu you can get rib tips by themselves for one price and then it gives you a scale of you want to add sides with it. Pork and Chicken fried rice are on the same level as costing the same amount. I asked for a Boneless spare rib combo and asked if the rice can be chicken fried rice instead if pork. She said it would be $1.00 extra. I pointed out that they were in the same level price wise. She said "That price is for rib tips. You got a spare rib combo so it costs extra." WHY DOES IT MATTER!!!? I'm asking for the same side. They will pull anything to charge you extra for every little thing. Lastly, a small pork fried rice costs $5.39. A small House special fried rice costs $5.99. BUT if you sub put house special fried rice on a combo they will charge you $2.50 more and won't even tell you about it. You'll just go to pay and notice how expensive it is. The receipt doesn't show the up charges but if you ask they tel you. It's absolutely ridiculous. And they aren't even the best Chinese food in the area. They are just the closest but I'll be driving further to get my Chinese food from now on. Feel free to give them your money if you want to. I'm from NY and I know good Chinese. It's nothing to write home about but if you're craving good, Americanized Chinese food and you want it delivered, or you're over by Harris Teeter, this place is good enough. Good signs on arrival, lots of people in the kitchen who looked like they knew what they were doing, lots and lots of people coming in to get food, and saw everything cooked to order. I waited 15 minutes for my order, maybe a bit long, but this made me feel even better about my chances on good food. Ordered Kung Pao chicken, and it was very good. The vegetables weren't all celery. The chicken was a good mix of white and dark meat, wasn't stringy, and were decent sized pieces. None of the food was extremely greasy. I'll definitely come back here when I need a quick hit. Eaten takeout from here a few times now, I agree with some of the other reviewers that the service is sort of...well, maybe the word is odd? It's not like they are intentionally rude or anything, they just seem sorta unconcerned about service, but they're friendly enough. Each time I've ordered they had no problem understanding what I wanted, it was always ready when I got there, if I asked for extra sauce or something like that it wasn't a problem. The food itself is typical chinese-takeout-for-American-palates, which is right up my alley. All the dishes I've tried were familiar, competently prepared and didn't challenge me the way authentic chinese cuisine does. When I eat here I don't want to be thinking too hard about the composition of the dish, I just want pleasing familiar food and they provide it. Came in on a Sunday and the food wasn't that great I've had much better fast food chinese. The fried dumplings had liquid in them and everytime you bit into one the liquid would spray everywhere. The meat filling was many times smaller than the flour pod it was in. Plus they were disgusting we trhew most of them away. Fast forward a few days and I notice a double charge on my bank statement. I call the restaurant to tell them about the problem and that I would be there in a few minutes. I'm told she can't help me right then because it's lunch hour. I gave about 30min and drove up there. When I get there the place has two customers..... the woman wants to argue with me about the validity of my claim saying I need to wait til the end of my banks statement cycle and then bring them that paper. I said no, but I would get a statement from the bank with all transactions until the current day. So we leave come back. She says she has no record of a double charge, and she needs to see my driver's license. WTF?!! I show her my license, she still wont' accept the validity of the claim. Turns out whatever company processes their debit and credit card transactions messed up and glitched really bad over the weekend on several business and customers. The money was refunded in a couple of days. Regardless I have never went through so much over bad food and $20. Will never be back. read more

Good little nearby Chinese restaurant! I was delighted to find this place not far from my new home. The young lady who greeted me at the counter was friendly and I didn't feel rushed or pressured to order. Decor is what you would expect in a place like this. I did end up ordering: beef dumplings, beef lo mein, General Tsao's Chicken that came with fried rice, one veggie spring roll and one eggroll -- all for $18! What a deal. One of the worst Asian takeout places I've experienced. Kung Pao chicken that was mostly (70%) chopped raw celery, almost no chicken,and a simple brown sauce. No spice at all. We also ordered honey chicken and general tsao's chicken, and could discern which was which! Both were just overbreaded fried chicken chunks in almost no sauce. The general tsao's (?) Had one piece a broccoli in it. Finally, the beef and broccoli had, likewise, no flavor and barely any beef. They can't even get fried rice correct. It had no flavor and no veggies of any kind. My go to Chinese takeout spot. It's your usual takeout spot, with the usual menu. I usually go with the sesame chicken combo or the chicken teriyaki combo. Nothing I've had from here has been bad. I've ordered takeout multiple times from here. I love fried rice. With my last order I ordered chicken fried rice with no onions. I made sure there were no onions before I left the store. I should've looked closer. There were no onions. There were also no vegetables or egg in the fried rice. While the food here has never seemed bad, it has also never made much of an impression on me as tasting good. I'm sorry to give it a one star review, but in my mind if they can't even make decent fried rice then I don't trust anything else they make.
