I was actually worried about being full myself since I'm keto and I don't eat some of the items but I was plenty satisfied. They have a make your own sauce bar with a ton of offerings. Can't go wrong with peanut sauce and soy with some green onions. Perfect dipper. We also got two soup bases, one spicy one plain and they were both great. Service is really good. One of the kids dropped a tray of meat and they gave us another without asking which was very kind of them. All of the food comes on a cart and there really isn't a ton of room on the table for all of it so we were shifting plates around a lot and they would come by and take the empty or dirty plates very quickly. Drinks were never empty and everyone was friendly. It is a bit of an upscale style for a hot pot restaurant with some asian flair such as the Japanese toy vending machines. You can buy tokens for them at the desk, I think it was 6 for $5. Again, one of the kids dropped one under the machines and they just gave us another. I don't think any of them won anything anyway. I would definitely come back here for a date night but this place excels with groups and is very affordable with a big group so that's what I'd lean into if I was picking a hot pot restaurant.

You can order many different type of meat, seafood and veggies. I order prime thin beef, pork belly, quail eggs , wide noodles as standard and add others depending on mood. Shrimp and beef paste is a must. You can also order combination that includes appetizers, meat, veggie plates. There's sauce bar you can make your own sauce according to your preference. Since this is not AYCE, you can take the left overs. Service: service is good most of the time but once in a while you run into slow service. Price: reasonable.

I have been told that you ask for something that isn't on the menu, they can often gladly make it for you. So... yeah. TBH -- the more American-Chinese dishes aren't anything special. I had someone's General Tsao and it was way spicier than most (which was great) but really, really, goopy and sugary (which wasn't.) All in all, if you're adventurous, and you're tired of the same old American-Chinese I would give this place a run and I would actually avoid those items on the menu should you dine here.

A minute or two later, it was in front of me - a goblet filled to the salty brim with a well balanced blend of tequila, lime juice, triple sec and ice. Everyone else at the table followed suit, but the service wasn't so instant. More on this later. We were a group of 9, with reservations. The table was nicely located and not off in a corner. There were 2- and 4-tops all around us. Another long table, this one bar height, butted the end of our regular height table. The servers soon separated them for easier access. Goji y Agave is the product of a partnership between a Mexican chef and an Asian one. There are two menus for food, but you can mix and match between them. Several of us ordered a little from each. Few of us could finish our entrees, the portions were so plentiful! An early snag was placing an order for nine drinks at once - the bar was overloaded, and the servers couldn't get them out together. This created a bottleneck where we could see them on the bar, but could not get to them. Folks were thirsty! This repeated when bringing out food. Once the food arrived, it was amazing, but it was a long wait getting all the orders for a large party together and out at once. Fortunately, it was early on a non-weekend night. Sadly, things were still delayed. But I still recommend going, just maybe don't take the whole gang at once!

I've always thought of Mr. Dumpling as a takeout place and have been relying on Uber Eats for their food. But then, I heard they hired a chef from a popular Sichuan restaurant in NYC, so I decided to try their spicy dishes, and wow, was I impressed! My husband and I used to go to another spot in Raleigh, but the quality went downhill. Finding Mr. Dumpling was a blessing! We ordered the Sichuan Boiled Beef, Mapo Tofu, and Chili Chicken, asking for everything extra spicy. Explosions of flavors and just the right amount of Sichuan peppercorns left us feeling amazed and a little numb! Oh, I almost forgot - we also tried the spicy beef tendon and tripe for an appetizer. Unfortunately, it didn't quite hit the mark, and we won't be ordering it again. Service-wise, it was a breeze to order through the QR code, and the server was attentive, making sure we had everything we needed. They even have a fun dice game where you can win a free drink and a rewards program on their ordering app - sweet! Just a heads up though, this place can get packed even on a weeknight, so be patient. In summary, our experience at Mr. Dumpling was fantastic. I had an issue with a takeout order, where I specifically requested no beef or pork in my Pan Fried Noodles, but received what appeared to be pork in the dish. Awful service. Waited 35 minutes at the table and they never took our food order despite the fact that we spoke to the waiter multiple times and he kept saying he would help us. Looked like the owners son was our waiter. We made reservations and they didn't even have a table for us and so all 5 of us had to squeeze on a little table. Went to visit our family friends last week and they took us to this place. Very nice and clean place and staffs are very friendly. They were busy but the service is fast. First off, it lacked any sort of flavor and the rice was really starchy. I read another review and they mentioned that they had brown rice that was acting as fried rice. That's exactly how my fried rice felt! Even if it was brown rice, the dish needed seasoning. The beef chow fun was an interesting dish for sure. Again, the flavors weren't exactly developed within the dish. This was also super watered down, there was a pool of sauce at the bottom, along with a bunch of vegetables that took away from the dish. I decided to mix it up when I made some return visits. A Chinese takeout classic is a chicken dish combo. For me, that meant trying their General Tso's chicken. I actually had never had General Tso's before this visit, but it wasn't bad! The chicken had some crisp and some heat. The fried rice was much better, but still nothing mind blowing. I also had to try their Yang Zhou Fried rice. This is the fried rice I always ordered at the other Chinese spot in town, and this one was not even close to being as good. Again, it needed more seasoning! Although I wasn't impressed by JJ China, they have a lot going for them. They're a family business and have been around a long time! People clearly like the food, and it's very affordable to eat here. Service is efficient and you can get in and out in no time at all. Maybe it will be better for you.

I will say that the egg roll and rice were both good. I can favor a bit of onion for flavor but I am no means a huge massive amount of onions fan, truth be told. I would favor describing it more as "onion omelet" honestly. It also left what seemed like a greasy residue or after taste in my mouth for a very long time. It may be that egg foo young is not my thing (and acknowledge if so since trying it out this time) but I was less than satisfied with my meal choice. I went with a different menu selection for my next delivery meal from Eastern China Restaurant in the Chicken With Cashew Nuts including rice. I enjoyed their chicken with cashew nuts meal a lot as it has always been a fave choice at other places and this meal kept that going for me here. Again with very good portions for delivery and this time I really was satisfied both taste and texture wise as well. I would say averaging my two recent experiences together here, I'd go with three stars. In the future I think I am going to stick with those faves I know and be less adventurous in ordering my meals here.

This place is completely different. You choose from several options of meal sizes and then you pick all of the meat and veggies from a giant list for each plan. At first I was worried we would run out of food...it just didn't seem like it would be a lot. But we ended up taking a ton of food home and we had 8 people and we got the combo for six!! I was actually worried about being full myself since I'm keto and I don't eat some of the items but I was plenty satisfied. They have a make your own sauce bar with a ton of offerings. Can't go wrong with peanut sauce and soy with some green onions. Perfect dipper. We also got two soup bases, one spicy one plain and they were both great. Service is really good. One of the kids dropped a tray of meat and they gave us another without asking which was very kind of them. All of the food comes on a cart and there really isn't a ton of room on the table for all of it so we were shifting plates around a lot and they would come by and take the empty or dirty plates very quickly. Drinks were never empty and everyone was friendly. It is a bit of an upscale style for a hot pot restaurant with some asian flair such as the Japanese toy vending machines. You can buy tokens for them at the desk, I think it was 6 for $5. Again, one of the kids dropped one under the machines and they just gave us another. I don't think any of them won anything anyway. I would definitely come back here for a date night but this place excels with groups and is very affordable with a big group so that's what I'd lean into if I was picking a hot pot restaurant.

Since they opened another location in Durham, the wait has decreased significantly. Food: I order the yin/yang broth: one medium spiced tallo which is the traditional broth and the other either just bone broth until they came out with new organic mushroom broth! It is so good. You can order many different type of meat, seafood and veggies. I order prime thin beef, pork belly, quail eggs , wide noodles as standard and add others depending on mood. Shrimp and beef paste is a must. You can also order combination that includes appetizers, meat, veggie plates. There's sauce bar you can make your own sauce according to your preference. Since this is not AYCE, you can take the left overs. Service: service is good most of the time but once in a while you run into slow service. Price: reasonable.
