I personally wasn't a huge fan of the food, so I'd give the food a 2/5. But the service was a solid 5/5, so I'm meeting in the middle and giving the overall experience a 3/5. That being said, my guests absolutely loved it and would rate it a 5/5! So clearly, it just wasn't my cup of tea. I did drink the entire bottle of sparkling water by myself though... haha! It was yummy! The space is VERY small, and the bathroom is upstairs, so just something to keep in mind. It's also very, very expensive for what you get. Personally, I wouldn't go back, but my guests definitely would! So I think it really depends on your taste and what you're looking for. I do love the art collection he has though! read more

I was visiting town and took a friend to dinner at Mr. Chow. My reservation was made approximately a month in advance. The menu was written in extra small print and was very hard to read, even with reader glasses on. Not to mention the lighting was very dark. The food was fantastic, as we have enjoyed in the past. The chicken satay was the standout. I tipped the 20% quickly because the waiter stood over me waiting for me to give him my card. I thought it seemed overpriced for what we ordered. I got home and searched online and found out Mr. Chow adds a service fee and gratuity in advance for even 2 guests. I double tipped and nobody said a word and saw no disclosure anywhere. I do feel ripped off. Left a bad taste in our mouths. Then to add insult to injury, Mr. Chow emailed me saying I canceled my reservation and that they hope to see me in the future. WE WERE THERE! Mr. Chow, what happened??? From May of 2025 (Las Vegas visit before they closed) to March 2026 , my go-to dish has changed not only in appearance, but also obviously in flavor. The Beijing chicken used to have some sort of 'red bean sauce', something I hesitated to try until I gave in years ago, and this has been my absolute favorite since. Tax refund came through so I placed an order to go on March 25th. When I opened the bag, the food clearly appeared different (see photo for comparison), something that set it apart from before was that red color. Sesame seeds were added to the candied walnuts (which I didn't mind), but this was a completely different entree. The new menu now says 'tender chicken with a hint of Beijing spices'. Truthfully if this was my first time eating this version, I would have probably liked it but since I knew its 'previous incarnation', I am really disappointed in the change of recipe. Mr. Chow has so many dishes people return for over the years, myself included. Why would you change one of your classics??? read more

Really disappointed, my boyfriend had filet. Mignon, it was like c***, wasn't good. Mister chaos should go in cognito and go and order the Chicken Fried rice. It was, oh sorry, it was shrimp. Fried Rice, everything wasn't and I've been there many, many times a long time ago, but it needs to be revamped. I don't know I would not suggest any. It's overpriced, it's gotten, you can have these fixed meals of a $118 and choose, and it's just not good. The lettuce cups, so so I've had plenty other places that's excellent. It was a special occasion, but the drinks were good. The service is fabulous, but the food no can do and won't do it again. We sent back the filet Mignon. But everything was just okay, go somewhere else. Mr. Chow should check into his own restaurant. Go incognito and sit there and you will see you like perfection. So does everybody else read more

I was invited to a private after party for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame for OutKast and it was here. They laid it out for the party. Of course the food was great! I have been here before but this was catered. So many delicious dishes! We were met with drinks upon entering. The amazing staff continuously brought food out all night. Even desserts! This was my first time going to Mr Chows for a private event. I absolutely loved the hospitality. Music was on point. Lighting was dimmed low for ambiance. I would say this probably was one of the best parties of the year with the best food and drinks. Thank you Mr Chows for hosting a truly unforgettable night. read more

Loved the bartender, Matt. I went there once months ago and unsure how even remembered me but it made me feel extremely welcome. The food was good and the service was good, overall. The only downer was that there were two separate couples that were sat next to us and they apparently knew the staff very well and were extremely welcomed. They came far later than us but all of their food was rushed out, which showed us we were clearly less important. Once they were all fed, our food came out lol it was not a big deal bc my friend n I were having a good time but it was just amusing to watch the difference in speed. The service was beyond wonderful. The staff made the dinner even better than it was. We ordered champagne and cocktails, both were delicious. The Mr chow noodles were super flavorful. The noodles are made fresh in from of you. The glazed prawns are a MUST. I could've done without the chicken, but the fiery beef was amazing I could've gotten 2 of those! The pear dessert sounded questionable, but ended up being incredible. Served warm with vanilla ice cream! Music choice was also a 10/10. read more

Incredible service, sensational food and an iconic institution all around. From start to finish, there isn't better upscale Chinese but be prepared to splurge. It's all about the duck, hand pulled noodles, squab and prawns in my opinion! You must try a lychee martini as well. read more

The fact that I've been coming to Mr. Chow's since a kid and the quality and taste remains the same. I haven't been here in a couple years and I decided to come here for dine LA experience and of course the regular menu lol.. Options were really good. I ordered the Spare ribs for first course, Beijing chicken my second course, and for your side, they gave you shrimp fried rice, and mix vegetables, which was so good. Everything was very good, what we ordered. They also have many cocktails and mocktails to choose from! I ordered the 1739 sidecar, which was very delicious!! The service is phenomenal from the valet until when you entered to be seated and all the people who help you out it's many servers and busybody that help you, and they're very efficient and always come and check on your table and clean off your table, which is a plus for me . The ambiance is so pretty and the decor, and very elegant and classy and upscale vibes. They have private rooms for parties, and two sides that you can dine on. This place is definitely good for celebrations, which my family had many parties here and my friends. Also, it could be good for date night or I would say pretty much any type of occasion. It's pretty much only valet parking unless you want to do street parking but I am not sure how that goes. I don't want to take it so I never risk it but if you do park valet is $20. Overall, I highly recommend Mr. Chow's!! the ambiance is great, the food quality, and exceptional customer service!! -Marshay D. read more

My friends always raved about Mr. Chow--one used to eat here three times a week! I had never been, so I decided to check it out on a late Saturday night (they're open until midnight ), and I'm officially converted. Kicking things off was the shrimp fried rice, which was perfect--light, flavorful, and deeply satisfying. The chicken satay was on a whole other level: juicy, tender, and that peanut sauce? Unreal. Then came "The Gambae"--crispy fried seaweed that was totally addictive. I could eat a whole bowl of it solo. The glazed shrimp with candied pecans were absolutely divine--rich, sweet, and perfectly cooked. We also had the shrimp toast, which was crispy, savory, and everything you'd hope it would be. And the spicy sauce? My friend warned me since I'm sensitive to heat, but it hit just right--a quick fiery kick followed by a smooth, mellow finish. Chef's kiss. Every dish was a flavor journey. Generous portions, thoughtful presentation, and the kind of layered taste you only get when chefs really know their craft. The staff was incredibly attentive and made us feel like royalty. Yes, it's on the pricier side--but honestly? Totally worth it. I'm now a die-hard fan. This place is more than just dinner--it's an experience. I have eaten in every section of this restaurant and I am amazed that they do not have a "C" rating. Why? Because they prepare and store food directly outside of each and every bathroom! And, I am convinced that they use MSG in their dishes now. Also, they use eggs in most of their dishes to thicken and compensate for the amount of food is in one entree. The waitstaff used to be colorful, now it's just busboys pushing out the food. And BEWARE a lot of your drinks are premade and ocean spray juices are used instead of fresh juices in your $42 drinks. read more

Unfortunately, this location is going to the drain. We have been regular customers for years and years, bit lately we always feel under the pressure when we order courses. We feel being rushed, pressured to order and they force you to order all ahead, without us even know how hungry we will be.Practically no one cares ad waiters attract your table as sharks. Just overwhelming! Compared to location in Miami or Vegas, this one far worst. Decoration is not as used to be, rooms need to be renovated, they literally smell old, same issue for bathrooms. Maitre d' is a different story, what a downer, always uncheerful, obnoxious and unfriendly. We feel like this place needs to be changed or closed. For the cost of $400 for two without drinks, that a joke! read more

The food was disappointing overall, definitely not worth the price. Some dishes were good but most were just ok. Chicken satay had bland mayo sauce. The beef in the crispy beef was non-existent. It was shred so fine, that the meat is undetectable, so it's $60 for fried cornstarch. The service was outstanding. Will not be back. read more

I ordered Mr Chow for my Birthday dinner. The portions were EXTREMELY small, they also missed an item, my Chicken Satay. Gave me 2-pieces in a small box, while also missing a 2nd order... I thought I was in for a delightful culinary adventure, but instead, I ended up on a journey through the Valley of Regret. 1. Scallop on the shell - So overcooked and dry, I'll call them the orbs of despair. I think the shell was softer than the scallop. 2. Crab Claw - Drier than my sense of humor on a Monday morning. Typically, you'd say even cardboard would taste good fried, but oh no, this poor little claw never got a chance at flavor. 3. Chicken Lettuce cups - Was there any chicken in there? 4. Chicken Sate - I didn't know rubber had a taste, but now I do. They just poured the sweetest sugary concoction over it to make it appealing. 5. The fried rice was a lump of sticky rice with some slivers of asparagus. Calling it sticky is an actual insult to actual sticky rice. 6. Glazed Prawns with Walnuts - It was ok, but honestly, I've had better at California Wok! 7. Mr. Chow Noodles - Basically spaghetti bolognese...with fat noodles. 8. Ma Mignon - Shockingly, really tender well cooked piece of meat that was tragically covered in sauce. Their "recipe since 1975." I wouldn't boast about that. 9. Steamed Sea Bass - Nice texture actually! Cooked well but bland. 10. Nine Season Prawns - Did it actually take them 9 seasons to get this dish almost as good as Panda Express? 11. Velvet Chicken - Forgetful. Wait, did we even eat it? Let's call it Mystery Chicken. 12. Mixed vegetables - How can anyone go wrong here? Portion for 8 was actually a portion for 1! Cooked nicely though. I got 1 piece of asparagus & we all had to share 1 piece of mushroom. As you can see, we gave it many chances with the number of dishes we ordered. Mind you, the entrees are in the $50-$60 range and in tiny portions. Service was fine, though. They managed to bring my plate of disappointment in a timely manner. You'll have a better experience at an all you can eat Chinese buffet. The ambiance was just OK, design was dated & bathrooms were run-down for a place that charges $64 for a tiny portion of Panda Express wanna-be shrimp. Mr. Chow in Beverly Hills is a perfect example of rich, pretentious people clinging to a place just because it's famous, expensive, and once good. The food is awful and the prices sky high, but they keep going for the status. It's not about taste--it's about being seen. This was probably my longest review ever because it was the biggest let-down ever. I will not be returning. I consider myself a foodie and I feel like I was being punked...like when you present people with a sip of $1,000 bottle of wine & a sip of 2 buck chuck, and the snobs always think their pallets are so refined but end up choosing 2 buck chuck as the winner! read more

Over priced Chinese food even for Beverly Hills. One serving of steam white rice is $23.00. That's insane. I can get a xl container in a white to-go box from a Chinese restaurant for $5.99 . The funny thing is their white rice is nothing special meaning there is no wow factor. It just your common every day jasmine white rice. It isnt altered nor gourmet. It isnt infused with ginger and garlic or other special aromatics,.....its just your everyday white jasmine rice that you can find in any if not everything Asian eatery. This place isn't worth it. Trust me. I've had more tastier and more flavorful Chinese food from Chinatown where prices are over inflated just because of the city its located in. Boycott this place. read more

Sadly what was a good restaurant is now at best average. Overpriced Chinese food where they take advantage of their guests, offer a per person prix fix which is too much food where à la carte would be much better (as one dish is more than enough for two or more people). $650 before tip with two beers two glasses of wine and two lychee martinis. So tonight on vacation in Beverly Hills, I decided to go to Mr Chow sometime around 9:30. Sat at the bar and struck up conversation with the bartender about Steely Dan and the reference to Mr Chow in the song Glamour Profession. Bartender did not know the reference. I asked if Mr Chow was still alive. He said, "He's right there and pointed to his left. Sure enough, sitting alone in a booth was Mr Chow, underneath a picture of himself painted when he was young. I went over to him and introduced myself and mentioned the reference to his place in the song. He looked confused at first and then his eyes lit up and he remembered. He said the painting behind him was done by Andy Warhol, a regular. I told him I was glad he was doing well and keeping that 70's vibe going. I took a picture with him. He is in his late 80's according to bartender Matt. Made my night read more

Dinner was scheduled at Mr. Chow Beverly Hills, a landmark restaurant that symbolizes high-end dining in Los Angeles. In this exquisite space, I found a unique atmosphere that matches my taste. The restaurant's decoration is simple and luxurious, modern, but warm and intimate. Every detail shows elegance, and the soft lighting just illuminates the entire space, creating an atmosphere that is both modern and classic As a quality-conscious eater, the dining experience here is absolutely unparalleled. Both the waiter's behavior and the overall service process are full of professionalism and efficiency. Every interaction seems natural and smooth, neither ostentatious nor alienated, making people feel at home. The high quality of the service team is not only reflected in the attention to each guest, but also in their deep understanding of the restaurant culture and their precise grasp of customer needs The most impressive thing is the atmosphere in the restaurant, which can find the perfect balance between quiet and lively. Here, you can enjoy a warm gathering with friends and family, or host an important business banquet, and the atmosphere can be just right for the occasion. Every guest who enters the restaurant can find their own comfortable space here Every detail of the meal makes people feel exquisite and thoughtful, from the arrangement of seats to the overall layout, every design reveals the taste and style of the restaurant.
