Pork/Steamed Crab and Pork Soup Dumplings (XLB) - 8pcs
Michelle X.

Not bad, just disappointed. This is the second location to the one in SGV. So perhaps up to the standard of Beverly Hills folks. The xiao long bao is better than the pan-fried dumplings which were doused in five spice powder, but neither quite worth.

By westside and Beverly Hills standards, this is a solid place for Chinese food. Not anything really special by 626 standards, which is fine as you can't expect the diverse palette out here to accommodate a wider and more authentic menu. Given the audience the menu does include vegan options, which is a nice touch. Lotus root in particular is lightly seasoned and more raw seeming than a lot of places, and the green onion pancake is best described as designed to be safe. Overall this is pretty much what you'd expect from a Chinese restaurant in Beverly Hills - modern, wood overtones, lots of light, and enough but also not too many options on the menu.

Excited to have more Chinese food options on the westside! I had to try the pork dumplings, soup dumplings, and scallion pancake. The pan fried pork dumplings were juicy. The scallion pancake was perfectly crisp and layered. The woodear mushroom salad was the right complement to the other fried and pork dishes. The vegan dumplings had a good filling with mushrooms, bean curd, cabbage, carrots, and glass noodles, but the skin was a thick, I prefer Din Tai Fung's vegan steamed dumplings with thinner skin over these. The soup dumplings were juicy and big but the skin was a bit thick too. I do want to come back and try the wonton soup, boiled dumplings, and noodle dishes. There are a few parking structures nearby and hey tea is on the next block so I'll definitely be back.

Stopped by this spot while in Beverly Hills for a business trip and ended up having one of the best lunch breaks of the week. The dumplings were fresh, soft, and packed with flavor. I especially loved the spicy wontons -- the sauce had the perfect balance of heat and savory flavor. The steamed dumplings were also super juicy and delicious. The restaurant itself was clean, cozy, and had a nice modern vibe. Service was quick and friendly, which was perfect since I was on a tight schedule between meetings. Definitely a hidden gem if you're in the Beverly Hills area and craving comforting dumplings. I'll absolutely be coming back next time I'm in town!

Gross. Over steamed. Mealy. Not worth it. Pass... they will be gone soon. The person who I told merely picked up the 7/8 uneaten dumplings and walked away. No apology. Nice.

The food is absolutely delicious!! The best scallion pancake I have ever had, a must try!!! The broccoli is out of this world and also a must have! We have been back several times and the food is great each time! Staff is wonderful and the restaurant is clean!

I tried the spicy wontons and pan-fried dumplings, and both were really solid choices. Overall, a comforting and satisfying meal. I'd definitely order both again, especially together--they complement each other really well. One of the better Chinese food options in the Beverly Hills area.

Everything was well seasoned and full of flavor. The Angus beef was more like dry shredded beef than sliced steak, which wasn't what I expected, but it was still tasty. The bok choy had the perfect texture tender with just the right amount of crunch. Overall, a satisfying meal with well-prepared ingredients. The wontons you can most definitely get from a grocery store and do yourself. It wasn't anything out of the ordinary to get the wontons again.

My family and I have been dining at Luscious Dumplings since its first location in the SGV, and this brand new location is absolutely worth the hype! The dumplings are all handmade, and you can taste the freshness and attention to detail with every bite. My personal favorite is the pan fried pork dumplings, because the juicy pork filling juxtaposes with the crispy wrapping for a palette of gastronomical delight. The filling is generously sized, the wrapping not too thick, and there's some soup inside too, which makes it the perfect candidate to be devoured hot! Another classic is the shrimp, pork, and chives dumplings. Execution was on point, and the crispy shrimp complemented the pork and chives. A bold, flavorful filling that is best enjoyed boiled. We paired the dumplings with the mushroom meat sauce noodle--another Luscious classic. Note that this location (as of the second day of the soft opening) pairs the noods with pickled cabbage rather than fresh cabbage. The angus stewed beef noodle soup was another standout. The broth was flavorful, and the noodles were properly timed for that al dente "QQ" texture. The ambiance is fast casual; definitely more polished than the Monrovia location. The diningware is upgraded, and the Jeanneret chairs add that touch of BH luxe. Drinks and sauces are self-service. Staff are friendly and helpful. Overall, this Luscious Dumplings Beverly Hills location offers a much-needed fast casual dumpling house in the Westside. It presents excellent value, so my family will definitely be back!

The shrimp fried rice was super dry, the only thing that had flavor was the shrimp. I was worried that the orange chicken was listed as hot. It was not hot at all, it BARELY had any flavor. Finally the beef and broccoli was the absolute worst thing we ordered. The sauce was, for a better word, watery. The beef had no flavor, broccoli was fine..yipee. At least the fortune cookies were good. Psssht. I wish I had looked at the reviews more carefully. When a place gets several five stars in the same day or for several days in a row it definitely is a red flag for fake reviews, and now that I am looking through the reviews for this place, lots of red flags.

Epic, epicurean, sybaritic Cantonese/Hong Kong Banquet marking over 40 years of Joss was presided…read moreover by the ever congenial, worldly, sophisticated owner, Cecile Tang. This event will be remembered in our mind, heart, and especially by our stomach. I was very fortunate in receiving notice of the last seating at Joss in the form of private, reserved banquets in September 2026. Joss had previously closed to the public at the end of August. 8 courses were most ample, and generosity was evident in the use of luxurious ingredients and elaborate culinary techniques. 1) Wu Gok: Fried Taro dumpling (Chinese: 芋角) covered in an airy, lacy, crispy batter. The mashed starchy, naturally sweet Taro root hides a soft oyster. Lightly smashed, crunchy, salted cucumber, dark cloud ear mushrooms are dressed in subtle, sweetened rice vinegar dressing similar to Japanese Su no Mono salad. Accompanied by whole red Thai chile and a slice of garlic clove. 2) Roast Squab: Small pigeon like bird slow baked to golden brown to retain succulence with pleasant scent of 5 spice where star anise added licorice aromatics. Possibly crushed red table pepper & touch of powdered Sichuan pepper in the salt blend provided along with a wedge of lemon for adding gastrique. Small nubs of dark, brown, squab meat were lightly sautéed with finely chopped bright green asparagus in butter lettuce leaf cups. Crunchy, thick rice chips for textural contrast. 3) Winter Melon 8 Precious Broth: Served in its own whole melon tureen after being cleared of its "meat". Shrimp, pillowy bay scallops, chunks of soft, juicy Winter Melon, diced earthy Shītakè mushroom, ham were some of the ingredients in soy sauce darkened chicken broth. 4) Maine Lobster Aberdeen over Braised Noodle with Lobster Jus Naturel: Whole scarlet lobster shell is placed over al dente thin pasta looking like squiggly Linguine. And barely steamed chunks of lobster that may have been coated in egg white & corn starch, then flash sautéed to seal in moistness for a plush velvety surface and fibrous, meaty, sweet interior. All the above are tossed in a concentrated lobster shell based broth along with medicinal ginger, chiffonade of scallions, toasty, aromatic sesame oil. Some will say this is a highly sophisticated, "royal" version of Lobster Cantonese. 5) Crisped California Red Snapper with Lychi Sweet & Sour Sauce: Whole fish lightly battered with possibly corn starch-wheat flour for extra crispness of the skin. The frying of the fish in light, clean oil gives the fish meat an ethereal, airy texture. Then a fruity, lychee, oyster sauce based, vinegar acidic sauce is applied garnished with sautéed green, yellow, red bellpeppers. 6) Joss Peking Duck: May be the signature Chinese duck dish in all of California if not the U.S. The special involved method leaves the skin, especially the legs, with a lacquered, shiny, lustrous glow. The crispy skin exudes a sweet, lush fattiness that is tamed by the extra earthy, sweet, heavy, viscosity of the fermented soy bean Hoisin/"plum sauce". The duck meat is lean, toned, moist for different effect. All the above can be placed in a taut, stretchy, ultra thin, leathery wheat crêpe slathered with Hoisin dressed with julienned watery cucumber and chiffonade of scallions. 1-6a) Chrysanthemum Tea paired well with the Chinese Banquet cuisine. The earthy, spicy, floral tones were ideal. Dessert: 7) Steamed Chocolate Pudding Cake is chocolatey, ultra plush, touch sweet, moist in a pool of dark chocolate sauce. 8) Fresh Coconut Frappé: Young, tender coconut meat, coconut water, possibly condensed milk seems blended and chilled to make a refreshing, frothy, aerosol-like whip cream texture. Garnished with mint leaves. What an incredible repast "by Executive chef Golo Kwokson Yu who joined the kitchen in 1988, training under master chef Lao Ying Chieh before taking over as Chef de Cuisine in 1993." Bravo to his culinary prowess! So privileged to have the last supper. Wishing Ms. Tang, Chef de Cuisine Yu, and the friendly, cordial staff the best, happy, good fortune. 5+++ stars!!!

One of the best appetizers I've ever had: Eggplant Chips Crisp slices of Asian eggplant topped with savory diced Yu Shiang eggplant. Their upscale take on brown rice was pretty wonderful: Heirloom Multigrains Unprocessed heirloom multigrains cooked in a clay pot to heighten its natural aroma. THE BAD Aside from the two dishes mentioned above, we found the other entrees to be unremarkable. Service was also unremarkable. One overworked waiter was handling the entire dining room, so service was not swift. Took 10 minutes 'til the brown rice equivalent I ordered finally appeared--and I had to remind him to bring it. I asked for an iced tea. He said he'd check to see if it was available. Never got back to me about it. The waiter had not a shred of warmth or personality.

The space feels worn -- menus tattered, décor dated, the whole interior overdue for a refresh. For a restaurant positioning itself at the higher end of Chinese dining, Meizhou Dongpo is sleeping on the finer details. No complimentary tea service, and rather than offering a pot for the table, they serve individual tea by the mug -- a comically oversized Western mug at that. Chopsticks arrive without spoons, and when you ask for one, you get silverware instead of the porcelain you'd expect at Chinese restaurant.
