This is my go to Chinese restaurant when I am in the area. I don't know why it's never too busy. I have been here at least 20 times and I enjoyed every dish I had here. Great: Clean and delicious Great lunch special Friendly and professional service Interesting space-ship like decor Clean bathroom Not so great: Wine and drink menu My favorite dishes are Hot and Sour Soup, Mongolian Lamb, and Mustard Prawns

Peking duck - a must have!

A hidden gem in Beverly Hills!! The Peking duck is a must have!!! The skin is so crispy and love the wrap. The mustard prawns with noodles is also very good. Actually, everything on the menu is good. Please ask for Walter, he is so nice and very attentive. Plenty of street parking along Santa Monica Blvd.

Enjoyed a lovely evening with friends at Joss Cuisine! It was my first time here, my friend reserved a room up stairs which had its own bathroom. Highly recommend if you have a large party. The food was excellent and the service was as well! There were several courses, all of which were great! A few stand outs were the squash crab soup and the Lobster. Both are a must next time you go. Great way to celebrate Chinese New Year! Thanks Joss! Parking: street, metered

JC is a cute little Chinese restaurant on little Santa Monica Blvd across from the Penninsula Hotel. We ordered the chop suey, chicken cashew veggies, wonton soup and Hot n sour soup. The food was made fresh and taste GREAT!! We opted out onions and garlic to taste the real food. Restaurants these days are smart now, since people today love to eat onions and garlic, so chefs now would just soak everything in onions and garlic to cover up the unfreshness of the food. Lucky for me that I don't like onions and garlic, so if the food is not fresh, they can't hide!! A big thumbs up for JC, the food was awesome and the service was great. It was a busy night with a party upstairs, but they managed well!!

Peking Turkey or just regular turkey. This is nothing special and not for $90

The music was set at the perfect volume--just enough to have us humming along while we made our way through four incredible dishes and a few glasses of wine. We started with the "skinny egg rolls," dubbed so as they are long and skinny. They arw perfectly crisp and light, giving lumpia vibes without feeling heavy or oily. Next were the wontons--I could smell the ginger before they even reached the table, and they absolutely delivered. Adding a spoonful of the homemade chili oil, packed with herbs and spices, took them to another level. Then came the noodles: thin, delicate, and full of flavor, topped with beautifully seasoned beef that tasted as though it had just come off the grill. At that point, we could have happily stopped--but the team highly recommended the pork entrée, and I'm so glad we trusted them. Every bite was melt-in-your-mouth tender, with a beautifully seasoned crust, served with just the right touch of mustard to bring everything together. We cleaned the plate without hesitation. To finish, we shared the mango dessert, and it was the perfect ending. Sweet without being overpowering, every element--from the mango to the coconut and cream--shone through, with a subtle savory note that balanced it all beautifully. What truly made the evening unforgettable was the service. The staff were attentive without ever hovering, checking in at just the right moments, and the managers' thoughtful table touches made us feel cared for. Thank you, 88 Club, for one of the best dining experiences we've had in a long time. We're already looking forward to coming back!

Staff was attentive and kept things moving, which I appreciated. That said, at times it felt a bit more like a cafeteria than a sit-down restaurant, especially considering the price point. It's on the expensive side for what you get, so expectations were a little higher. The pork was the standout--easily the best part of the meal and worth trying if you go. Overall, glad I checked it out, but probably not a spot I'd rush back to with so many other options around.

We had the veg spring rolls which were crisp and filled with a good portion of veggie, and were not greasy. The mu shu duck was really good and came with 4 pancakes. It was not overly salty and I actually added a little soy sauce to spice it up a bit. The chicken with veg was the least favorite. This will definitely be my go to place for take out.

I quickly completed my errand at FedEx and went next door to Chef Ming's to peruse the menu. Upon walking in, I was first greeted by the smell of what promised to be a delicious meal, and the man behind the counter greeted us and motioned for us to take a seat at the counter. The restaurant was bright and clean, and as I looked over the menu, my stomach growled even louder. A friendly gentleman came in and stood near us, then began chatting with my boyfriend and me; he told us about their awesome lunch specials and said he's eaten here many times. Upon his recommendations we got one of orange chicken and one broccoli with beef - two classic Chinese dishes - can't go wrong! We ordered our food to go and the smell was driving me wild on the ride home. The orange chicken was perfect - not too sweet and the batter had the perfect crunch. My BF enjoyed the broccoli with beef and shared some with me. We were very pleased with our meals and definitely recommended Chef Ming's! Would definitely eat here again!

I've been coming here for the past two years, and their quality is stayed consistently high, if not even improving! They also have an amazing cocktail menu (which is more unusual for dim sum spots) and weekday lunch special menu from 12-3 PM, which features select dim sum and traditional Chinese dish combos at VERY affordable prices (all under $20). Honestly, everything I've tried on every visit has been AMAZING, but I highly recommend asking your waiter for recommendations and specials, since I've been able to try so many new dishes that I probably wouldn't have ever ordered. After ordering dim sum, which is typically fast and casual, we waited 45 minutes with no food. At the 30 minute mark, we politely asked for an update. Fifteen minutes later, still nothing. No explanation. Just a half-hearted apology and no sense of urgency. Instead, a random dish we didn't order was dropped off as "compliments from the kitchen." A freebie doesn't fix over an hour of being ignored. We had a hungry 5 year old with us. After a total of about 75 minutes with zero food, we told the waitress we were leaving. Her response? "Ok." That's it. No apology. No attempt to make it right. Just indifference. We even left money on the table, not because anything was earned, but because we have standards, even if this place doesn't. If this is how they operate when the restaurant isn't even busy, I can't imagine how bad it gets when it is. Plenty of other places that actually value their customers.

Customer Service: (5/5) The waiter was very nice throughout. She was very endearing as she talked to my girlfriend in chinese and also kind to me when speaking in english. When asked about dishes and proportions, she was very knowledgeable and honest. Food: (4.5/5) We ordered the Mapo Tofu and Meizhou Special Fried Rice with chicken. The food came out within 10 minutes and the portions, as I saw on previous reviews, were generous enough for us to share and be full. The Mapo Tofu came out on a hot ceramic bowl. It wasn't as spicy as I thought, not overly spicy but just enough where you get that numbing kind of sensation in your mouth that leaves you wanting more. The beef wasn't like the ground beef you see in other mapo tofu, but more of chunkier pieces which I wasn't a big fan of as it didn't seem spread evenly. The Meizhou Special Fried Rice with chicken was probably one of the best fried rice dishes I've ever had. You can tell it was made from a wok and the flavors were just incredible. The chicken seemed to have been friend separately and added on top afterwards but the saltiness of the chicken didn't take away from the fried rice at all. Instead, it added to the flavor and made it all so enjoyable. For the ultimate experience, I'd recommend eating both together to maximize your palette!

The space feels worn -- menus tattered, décor dated, the whole interior overdue for a refresh. For a restaurant positioning itself at the higher end of Chinese dining, Meizhou Dongpo is sleeping on the finer details. No complimentary tea service, and rather than offering a pot for the table, they serve individual tea by the mug -- a comically oversized Western mug at that. Chopsticks arrive without spoons, and when you ask for one, you get silverware instead of the porcelain you'd expect at Chinese restaurant. The Peking duck accoutrements came with a little plastic spoon on the tray. Small things, but they add up.The fried rice was a letdown too and looked nothing like the menu photo.
