I'm not picky at all, and I just cannot find anything i like here. My good friend likes this place so we visit often, and I've searched the menu high and low for a dish I might like. I've even double ordered a few times to make sure I would have something to eat that my taste buds agreed with. No luck. I now refuse to eat here. The food quality and taste is just horrible. This place is very disappointing... My girlfriend and I were in the mood for Chinese but very hungry so we stuck to the basics and ordered orange chicken and shrimp tempura. The total was about $25 which seemed a bit pricey considering the food tasted as if it was bought from the frozen food section at Walmart. The chicken did not taste authentic. I ordered a spicy shrimp fried rice and when I received the food it was not spicy so they took the food back and brought it back to me "spicy". When I tasted it was absolutely disgusting the rice was plain and barely had flavor. When I asked for a full refund they said they could not refund me my money l so I had to throw the food in the trash. read more

I have been eating at Chopsticks at least 3 times a week for almost 4 years now, and NEVER had a bad meal. It is a true Asian Fusion type cuisine, and healthy too. NO MSG in the building and the cook uses lite soy sauce for stir fry dishes. The sushi is always fresh and tasty...no goofy sauces poured over the rolls. Just delicious fish, and awesome sushi rice! I'm asian so of course, I've ate everywhere and have tried almost all the varieties of different asian cuisine. This place did not thrill me. The curry tasted more from "India" then it did from "Thailand". I'm sure curry enthusiast would know what I'm talking about. The pad Thai was mediocre. The pho was so-so. This place was really good! My boyfriend recently took me to Mr Chopsticks on a Monday night. At dinner time around 7 pm the place was very busy. We saw a lot of families with their children when we were there. They had a very large menu with a lot to choose from. We had an appetizer & an entree each. The portions are very large & you will most certainly have leftovers. Seating as well as parking are pretty limited. If you have a group of more than 4 you may have problems finding seating for your group. Much of the waitstaff are local UNT students. I think Mr Chopsticks is the best Chinese in Denton. The food here is excellent for the price, the atmosphere here is ok. My waiter Will did a great job serving my step-dad and I. He was quick, didnt waste any time and refilled my drink before it was even empty! We got our food relatively quick and the food wasn't piping hot like some other restuarants so i didnt have to wait before eating it. Overall i give this place four stars. read more

I tried this place back in the day when they were still on Fry St. and was not impressed. I got my staple Almond Chicken and couldn't finish due to the stringy, fatty, and old tasting chicken. I didn't understand what all the hype was about and didn't plan on going back. Then a vegetarian co-worker of mine convinced me to get take-out for lunch one day. Against my inner carnivore's will, I got the Vegetable Supreme with fried tofu by her recommendation. FAN-FREAKIN-TASTIC. I tried the shrimp and beef on following occasions and it appears their meat is just not for me... Too chewy without much flavor, but the tofu is good enough to make up for it. You can get it on almost every entree along with customizing the rice (brown/steamed/fried) or swap for noodle. I love that you can health up your meal for little to no extra. They offer drive through with a call ahead order, so it's an affordable alternative to greasy fast food. The entrees are large enough to split between two easily... we normally throw in a hot and sour soup or edamame and are stuffed for under $15. The service is very Denton- tattooed, braless, and generally pretty damn friendly. One of my top 5 restaurants in town for sure. My meal of choice: Spicy Mixed Vegetables with fries tofu and brown rice. Husband highly recommends the Thai Salad with beef. read more

I can't believe I have not reviewed Mr. Chopsticks before now. I guess I always assume everyone already knows this is a great restaurant. Great sushi, Chinese, Vietnamese, soups, vegetarian and everything in between. There is nothing but awesomeness on their huge menu. Try the off the menu dish United Fried Rice or United Curry Fried Rice...its fried rice with all the meats you can imagine, but you better be hungry. I have never ordered anything here that was not delicious so get crazy and order something you've never had. Consistently friendly and helpful service. Excellent value and excellent food. This is what Denton dining is all about...great food, great service, very casual, and reasonable prices. I can't say enough nice things about Chopsticks. The beef pho is something special. The cuts of beef are different than most places, and I like it, it's thicker and more like a nice piece of very tender steak in your pho. The egg rolls are pretty dang good too with the spicy chili sauce. I haven't tried anything else here as we always stick to the beef pho. read more

I've lived in Denton for two years and just finally went there today. I ordered teriyaki chicken and shrimp tempura. I was surprised at how cheap my meal was ($11 isn't bad...most other places where I order chicken and shrimp or something comparable, it usually costs about $15 or more). The service was quick and friendly. It was semi-crowded, but still quiet enough to hear the music playing and to hold a good conversation. My only complaint was that the chicken was quite dry, and I'd prefer my own home-cooked teriyaki chicken over what I had. read more

I'm always looking for local eateries to check out in Denton and was pretty happy when I found Mr. Chopstick's. Mr. Chopstick's is where I go to get my Asian food fix when I'm too lazy to cook it myself at home and because it's the only other place in Denton that I'm aware of that does Asian food. I know there's Golden China off of Teaseley, but I am still yet to try it. Once I do, I'll let you know I they compare to each other. As far as location, I've only been there since they've moved to where they are currently. I guess the old spot was pretty bad-ass because it seems that others aren't so happy with this new one? But I will vouch that their current locale is not bad - I don't really have anything to complain about. Except when it's super busy, you may get stuck with the table that feels like you're an outcast from the rest of the restaurant. That has happened to my boyfriend and I once, but it wasn't horrible!! At least we still had a place to eat! Service-wise, we've always gotten pretty good service from the waiters/waitresses that we've had. Just last night actually, my boyfriend ordered a large size of hot & sour soup...they only had enough for a small but offered to give him another cup of a different type as compensation. Which he gladly accepted. Another time we were eating there, it was fairly late and actually past the time they stop serving. Well a family came in and were about to be turned away. The mom had explained that they had been working in the yard all day and were starving - they didn't know where else to go. The guy could have easily said "No" but he told them not to worry about it and seated them. Karma points! Now, about the food. From what I've had, there are things I would definitely go back to and others that I vow to stay away from. Like I said before, I go to Mr. Chopsticks to get my fix but I'll still yearn for some really good Chinese food. I'm not bashing Mr. Chopsticks in anyway, it still gets 4 stars in my book. The dishes I go for are: moo shu pork or chicken, pad thai, steamed pork potstickers...I also like their stir-fried green beans. They're crispy and garlicky...mmmm. My boyfriend is a fan of the general chicken, sweet & sour pork, and lo mein noodles. The items I'm not a complete fan of are the spring rolls and the vegetable potstickers -- both had the exact same filling which I didn't like in either. I got the combo plate #2 which came with the vegetable spring rolls and the vegetable postickers and I really couldn't finish it. I ate the rice and the green beans but I was unable to enjoy the main part of the plate. It mainly had to do with the filling, it just wasn't what I had expected. Now I don't want to sound like a food snob when I say this, but I think I kinda have the right cause me being Filipino, I know what I'm talking about...the Lumpia. What they're serving as lumpia is a poor excuse for lumpia. There are two versions -- lumpia shanghai (which is filled with ground pork, green onions, carrots, and water chestnuts) and vegetable lumpia (cabbage, carrots, potatoes, onions, etc). I think what Mr. Chopsticks is going for is the vegetable lumpia, but I'm going to say they have not succeeded. A friend of mine tried their lumpia at Mr. Chopsticks after my boyfriend raved about the lumpia he's had at my family parties. Our friend was so turned off by the lumpia that he's wary of trying mine!! The last part of this review may seem as if I really don't like Mr. Chopsticks, but I really do!
