My parents live in Denton, and this is one of our favorite places in town to eat. The selection is great, and everything I've had is delicious. I love that they put lots of fresh veggies in their entrees. We usually get a variety of appetizers and a couple entrees which we share, family style. It always feels like a banquet. Last night we had the Thai salad with smoked tofu for the first time, and it is a new favorite. The dressing was good and zingy and the salad was full of fresh cilantro, crisp dark green lettuce and other good stuff. Their garlicky green beans are one of my favorite dishes anywhere. The green beans are always crisp and crunchy and the garlic bits are salty and crunchy and so good. I love that they offer steamed white rice or brown rice. I love that they serve affordable bottles of wine to be shared among uproariously laughing family members while sharing 30+ dumplings. Was very sick last night and decided to order the miso soup and a regular chicken fried rice. Soup was extremely salty to the point where I could not finish it. Tried the fried rice and all I tasted was grease and the chicken tasted very funky. Normally never leave negative reviews but Mr. Chopsticks deserves a negative review and a negative rating!! read more

I love mr chopsticks. The pad Thai and pho are some of the best in Denton. My kids love the coconut dessert and the thai coffee with condensed milk is great. The wait staff can put some people off b/c they're college kids who are trying to hard to be hipsters but once you get past that, it's good to go. read more

Definitely will be coming back, a bustling restaurant (which is usually a good sign, people coming back because it's so good) with good, reasonably priced food. I got rice noodles with tofu in a spicy sauce and really liked it. The menu is very very extensive, which can be a red flag - I always question if they are taking on too much. The food is alright, but there is nothing really outstanding or unique to the restaurant. It's decent! Maybe I'm too picky with Asian, especially Chinese food... If you want some quick Chinese-inspired dishes, this place will have them for you. For genuine Chinese, you might have to find somewhere else outside of Denton. read more

Not sure what their specialty is but our food was not good. I had a beef salad. Hoping for a Thai Salad But basically just got a tossed salad with grilled beef. Dressing not very good and to thick to be called a dressing. Wonton soup was ok but no wontons. General Tso's was the worst we have had ever had. Not recommending or returning. read more

I love Mr. Chopsticks for their large variety of vegetarian dishes and their wonderfully delicious Sesame Tofu and Vegetables. Not all of the food that I've had there has been great, but the servers are all friendly and the atmosphere is good, they usually have good music playing. At their current location on Scripture the parking is probably better than the last location, but it can still get pretty full. Plus they have a good sushi bar, from what I've tried anyway. Their chicken pad Thai is great. Probably the best dish they have IMO. I was not a fan of the over-priced and under-quality sushi. I have also had their yellow curry, which has an odd consistency, a terrible (for days!) aftertaste, and is not the best. I do like their spring rolls and their service is decent. This is the local place to be for really tasty Asian cuisine. I tried something new, a rice bowl with chicken and grilled vegetables. It had an interesting soy sauce which went perfect with the veggies. I also got a cup of the egg drop soup. This is best egg drop soup hands down in the area. If you can't decide what to get check out the side dishes. Overall I love eating here, the ambiance is nice. The selection is huge and I've never had a bad meal. read more

I've read a lot of reviews about how slow and inattentive the waitstaff is, however that was not the case for my visit. Our waitress was incredibly attentive to our needs, knew the menu very well for my family's odd dietary needs, and was just overall great! The food itself was pretty good, I got the veggie & tofu lomein w/ a side of fried rice. The lomein could have used a bit more flavor, but it was nothing a little more soy sauce couldn't help! Speaking of soy sauce, I put some on the fried rice and it made it very sweet which was surprising but was absolutely delicious! My brother and dad got tofu mooshoo and they thought it was alright with the pancakes but without them it was kind of meh. Overal, I thought it was very good for a chain kind of Chinese restaurant. I tried this place twice and it is pretty sucky when compared to other Asian dinning in Denton. The food is thick and greasy. The surroundings are aesthetically unpleasing. It really is just Asian fast food. I avoid going here because there are better places such as Thai Ocha or "I heart sushi" even. The meals are just not very satisfying. I ate here for the first time tonight. The setting is very relaxed and the food was delicious. I enjoyed the large Miso soup, which was cooked to absolute perfection. The cucumber salad I then indulged in was excellent with the perfect sweet, but spicy tang. I then had the Volcano Roll as my entree which was wonderful in flavor, but it was served slightly on the less than warmer side rather than hot as expected with a volcano roll since it is cooked. To drink i had there large Jasmine Leaf Tea, it was exceptionally hot and served in the kettle with adorable little tea glasses. I loved this because my tea never got cold, it was hot the entire time! Definitely go check this place out if you're in the area- GREAT FOOD, AWESOME PRICES, AND TREMENDOUS SERVICE! read more

The food was very bland, ordered Szechuan walnut chicken and had very little flavor. Rice was cold, egg drop soup cold also. Poor service, did not get a refill on our drinks. The phone rang constantly and staff joked about who was going to pick it up. After 15 rings it finally stopped, staff was just standing around drinking coffee. Really a let down read more

This is my favorite go-to Asian restaurant in Denton. As a vegetarian, I tried the tofu satay (I probably spelled that wrong) and it was amazing and have yet to stop ordering it. My hubby and I moved to Denton in August, and didn't try Mr. Chopsticks until a few weeks ago. And now we can't figure out why! Mr. Chopsticks offers a smorgasbord of Asian cuisines, including decent sushi rolls, pad thai, pho and teriyaki plates. Good value, considering tax is already included in the menu price, and if you order smart, you can get a variety of dishes to share with your dining partner(s). Hubby & I like the rolls, particularly the eel roll, salmon & asparagus (snake roll?) and tempura crawfish roll. Their veggie tempura is an awesome value for under $3. You get enough to share and it's light and not greasy at all. You can also get tempura as a side to your teriyaki plate. I don't usually order chicken teriyaki (because I generally like more adventurous plates) but it's really good here! I love ordering a pot of Jasmine tea...they give you a lot! The Thai iced tea is also good here. The red bean ice cream was just ok...I'll order the green tea ice cream next time. All in all, this is a bare-bones yet solid college joint with a friendly wait staff and good fuel-food. read more

If you are looking for decent Pan-Asian-influenced cuisine with some great vegan options for a decent price near campus , then Mr. Chopsticks is the way to go. You can order it by the phone and pick it up through the drive-thru if you are pressed for time. The option for brown rice or noodles with any meal is refreshing. I like how you get okra with your Sesame chicken. The appetizer selection ain't bad, either. DON'T: Be health-conscious (most meat is breaded/fried), expect authentic cuisine, or order the sushi. DO: Give yourself extra time (it's usually packed), be nice to your servers even though they are probably jerks, and like veggies. read more

This place is always bustling every time I drive by here (I live a few blocks from it). I decided to check this place out the other night. The atmosphere is pretty casual, you seat yourself and a server comes to you immediately. We sat outside because it was pretty crowded inside. I got the loose leaf hot Jasmine Tea. Is was flavorful and it had color to it, meaning they weren't stingy on the tea to water ratio. Even though the place was packed, the food didn't take long to get to our table. The first thing I noticed when the food came was how huge the portions were. I'm definitely getting my money's worth here. I ordered the California Roll. The sushi roll was pretty big, I had a hard time shoving it in my mouth, not that there's anything bad about that. It was delicious, the way I want it, without mayo. For $5.75, you can't really go wrong with that. The Tom Yum Goong was perfect. The soup was not too salty or overly seasoned with fish sauce. It had a perfect and proportioned taste to it. The spiciness of it was just right. I ordered the large size and wasn't able to finish it because it was huge. I will definitely put Mr. Chopstick's in my regular places to eat list. read more
