This place is absolutely delicious! I always come here with my boyfriend because its so convenient coming from campus. I order the broccoli stir fry with chicken and fried rice. My boyfriend orders pad jalapeño with beef and fried rice. The appetizers are also delicious such as the Crab Rangoon and chicken egg rolls. They are very fairly priced and you get a large portion of food! Don't be discouraged by the outside of the building because the inside is nice and the staff are great as well. read more

This is my favorite restaurant in North Texas. I have been coming here since I was a little girl and it was on Oak Street. My faves are sweet and sour shrimp, general's chicken, all of the soups, the eggrolls, and mongolian beef. I dont recommend the pad thai. Its not pad thai. Anything traditionally fried like general's chicken is insanely delicious bc its fried crispy like fried chicken and then tossed in sauce!!! Way better then ur average Chinese place! Staff is super Dentony and we love sitting outside in the Fall!! Love this place!!! If you come when its busy you just need to get comfortable bc everything is made fresh and that takes more time. Mr. Chopsticks has always provided a great meal on my trips back to Denton. They have come a long way from the little house across the street from UNT. The soups are amazing! They should have a 3 soup combo for $9-$10. Their menu is pretty deep with lots of Asian food styles. Some favorites are: Crispy Spicy Fish, Pad Thai, Vegetable Tempura, Cashew Chicken, Red Curry Vegetables. Service is fast and friendly. I wouldn't suggest ever ordering any of their entrees. Every single one I've tried has been mediocre. Their appetizers and sushi are fine, but everything else isn't even worth trying. I got lo mein that was very bland and basically inedible and when I asked my server if I could get something else instead, she said that it couldn't be replaced because there "wasn't anything actually wrong with it." She gave me a look of such judgment and scorn that I went into the bathroom to cry before telling her I didn't even want anything instead anymore (they were going to charge me for a second entree anyway, so why bother)? I even cried again after I left because she made me feel SO awful about admitting my food was of poor quality.. $15 for bad food and to be told that there's nothing wrong with it (if it tastes bland and gross... there's something wrong with it). I've really liked this place for a while but the poor quality of the entrees and the poor service I got today has ruined it for me. I'll likely never come again. I've been coming to Mr. Chopsticks for years, and I've always been quite satisfied with my experience. The place is very laid back, and it's a great place to meet up with friends to chat and catch up. The waiters and waitresses are friendly, and the food is fantastic. The only thing keeping me from giving this place five stars is that occasionally the wait staff is a little slow at refilling my drink and tending to our table. The food is what I really love about this place. I've tried many things on the menu, but I've fallen head over heels in love with the sesame chicken dish. I'm super picky about Chinese food but this was one of the best Chinese meals I've had in a long time! I read a lot of reviews before going so my friend and I ordered some of the suggestions. Pot Stickers: 1/2 Veggie, 1/2 Chicken The chicken pot stickers were AWESOME. Chicken was seasoned super well, dough was firm but still soft. Veggie ones were okay, a little runny and loose, hard to eat without a fork and didn't have much flavor to them. Garlic Green Beans: I read a lot of good reviews about these but I didn't particularly like them! I think there was a lot of butter/oil and the beans themselves weren't too great to begin with, so it was just covering up the flavor. Pepper Steak Beef with Fried Rice: This made up for the rest of the problems TOTALLY. The fried rice was really good, not too much salt or oil but still flavorful, and the steak was TOP NOTCH. Like, I haven't had that good of steak in Asian food ever. The veggies with it were really good as well, but the rice and the protein were the stars. Will probably get Broccoli Steak next time. Friend also had Crab Rangoon (I don't like seafood so I'm not going to give my personal review) but they were gone in minutes! One of my favorite spots for Chinese food in north Texas. The dishes can vary depending on the cook on duty. I tend to order the same thing - General Tso Chicken w fried rice. Each time it is just a little different than the time before. But more times than not, it has been very good. I can really only remember 2 times (out of a couple of dozen visits) when it wasn't. Once it was just a little strange, like the cook used an ingredient that I had never had before and the other time it was so hot that I really could not enjoy it. Now, I like spicy food so when they asked how spicy, I said a 3, expecting the scale to be 1-5. Their scale only goes to 3, so the waiter asked if I was sure. Once I figured out the scale of 1-3 I asked for 2.5 and I think I made the cook mad. It was very spicy. I still love this place and will continue to go back. read more

I have visited this restaurant 5 times since moving here. I have ordered a variety of items from Sushi, Curry, Pad Thai, Pho etc.. I will start with the Ambiance. Overall the Restaurant is clean and easy to navigate with outdoor dining as well as indoor. The staff is young (I'm assuming college kids) and friendly, very accommodating. The Menu: Lots of options, I think there may be too many options honestly. Overall it's priced right. The Food: There is a inconsistency. The food is not "Authentic " BUT it is obviously made with a lot of heart. My one complaint would be the seasoning, it changes every time I visit. Either there's no flavor or so much jalapeño it overtakes the whole dish. The last time I visited I ordered the Chicken Curry, it had a good flavor but hardly any chicken , mostly consisted of onions. The visit before that , the curry was jalapeño based with huge pieces of chicken that were dry. The Pho needs some work as well. The only flavor was the three jalapeño slices in it. There was no cilantro, hardly any sprouts and barely lemongrass, I felt a little let down. I honestly like the place or I wouldn't keep trying, living around the corner it's nice and convenient. I have been enjoying this place for going on 17 years. The menu has grown a bit, but the food has remained the same over the years, and it's amazing! I always find the staff helpful and quick and polite, although I can see why some people are put off by them. They are college kids, not fine dining waitstaff. I've been eating here for over 20 years, a long-time customer. No more. Tonight, I called my order in at 6:50pm. Pre-paid, w tip. Person on the phone said, "Ready in 20 min." Drove there, which took 20 min, then waited in line for another 30 minutes....person at the window keeps saying, "Just 5 more min" and then, to pull our over out of the drive-through. While we are waiting, 2 other folk go through the drive-through, order, wait, get their food, then drive off. 5 couples go inside, sit down, eat, pay their check and leave while we are still waiting. What was our order, you ask? Pot-stickers. At 7:50 pm we drive back up into the drive-through, remind the staff that we still haven't received out order, already paid for it, it's been an hour now- and the girl at the window starts giving us attitude. Meanwhile, the entire kitchen staff is sitting down on stools, eating, as more customers arrive. Finally, at 8pm, the girl gives us our food- which is cold. No "sorry", no reduction for the horrible situation. I'm never mean to service people, having worked in that industry myself. NEVER AGAIN. read more

This is easily one of my favorite restaurants in town. The staff if friendly and attentive, the food is fantastic and the atmosphere is pleasant. When I need to meet someone in town, or I just can't decide on what I want, my go to place is Mr. Chopsticks. I could eat there almost every day and not get sick of it, which is saying something. My go to meal is red curry with chicken and brown rice and I love their Tom Kha Gai soup. They also make a really tasty Thai iced tea. They divide the check by seat and then have an over all total so it makes it easy for splitting the meal up by person if you're having lunch with a friend, or just taking care of the whole check if you're feeling generous. I wish every restaurant did that. (especially in a double college town!) They also have a drive up window if you call your order in first. Handy. read more

Went here with a couple of friends on a Sunday afternoon. It was packed but I did not mind. Our server took a little while to get to us which is fine considering it was so busy. However, the food we ordered took almost 45 minutes to get to our table. And what made it worst was that some of the food was not hot and it was a little bland. We went in as a party of four. We ordered two appetizers, dumplings and eggrolls. The dumplings were over cooked and the egg rolls were ice cold as in frozen cold. Then one of us ordered orange chicken and they said it tasted odd so she didn't finish it. I tried my sweet and sour chicken and it was okay but about my fifth bite things changed. I bit into the chicken and it was slimy! As quickly I could (I'm handicapped) I headed for the ladies room. I immeadiatly spit out the chicken. It looked as slimy as it tasted and I got sick to my stomach. We left as soon as I returned to the table. Once I got home I got sick again and the following day I was miserable.
