Cashew chicken
Matt F.

Our party of 6 met for lunch around 3pm, and there was plenty of seating. Service was friendly and quick, and the food was delicious. I ordered the cashew chicken for $12, and due to the large portions I took a full to go box home. Everyone enjoyed their meal, and the General Tso's was particularly tasty.

The Service was great for this visit. I like how the restaurant pulls from the "pool" of UNT students, most of the time you get a friendly, attentive and helpful server. Don't think that you'll get a regular tho, they are always seeming to rotate their staff. :) Food is great. We've been going there for several years and have never gotten anything we didn't like or wouldn't order again. I really like the varied menu options, all across the Asian cuisine. Tonight we had Cashew shrimp and shrimp Egg Foo Young, both were huge (we took over half home), hot and very tasty. Definitely fresh from the kitchen. The sushi is good, great to round out a dinner. Pretty reasonable price with the shrimp entrees being $15 and the sushi roll being $9. Most assuredly my go-to place for a weeknight dinner.

One of my very favorite spots for crab rangoons! Very casual restaurant right next to the UNT campus. I use to grab rangoons to go all the time while up in that area. All their starters were delicious from the potstickers to the spring rolls. I did have a California Roll (not pictured) that wasn't my favorite and the Chicken Rice Soup wasn't up there for me either. The soup portion size was huge! Some of the food fares better for me over others, but can't beat the prices.

Server just stared at me waiting for me to say something.. very awkward. The Shrimp Tempura roll honestly wasn't bad but the Lo Mien is awful anyway I think they need to upgrade the place and they also have no work uniforms

This use to be our go to years ago and thought we would try it again. Unfortunately it did not live up to what I remember. Very low quality compared to other restaurants now. I was disappointed. I will say the egg rolls were still great. Everything else was lacking flavor and the quality of ingredients was super low. We will probably not be back.

Our favorite date-night destination. I always get edamame for an appetizer, then California roll with a side of egg drop soup!!

The soup is always great. This is a great place if you want standard Chinese food. It never disappoints.

Buffet King at 2251 S Loop 288, Denton, TX 76205…read more More than just your typical Chinese buffet restaurant. So much food options to go over so many choices. Services always good and on point. The lunch special with a drinking and tip is usually under $20 per person so this would be a very good buffet any day of the week.

I mean it's a chinese buffet. Went out of conscience with a bunch of family, but was pretty mid as…read moreexpected. There was a hibachi station where you could choose meats like thin beef, chicken, and pork, along with veggies, spices, and sauces. It was nice since i wanted to get my protein up without all the oil lol. Now I don't know if the meats are very fresh, but the station was cold so that's good. The hot foods I had were also pretty good and warm for buffet. My favorite was the pan fried dumplings, but again not the best obviously. In regards to the sushi, I didn't even wanna touch the raw nigiri for my own safety; salmon had no visible fat lines, and tuna didn't look appetizing at all, almost grey. I got some pieces of the rolls, unagi, and inari and those were actually better than i expected. The rolls are pretty close to tokyo one in plano, or osaka in addison. The inari was nice and sweet, but the unagi was kind of just getting carried by the sauce lol. Service wasn't the best, got one refill the entire time, and was fasting that day. The place is decently clean and nothing to really complain about there. Overall for a big easy family outing, not bad, but would not eat here again myself

Service was great but the place is quite filthy…read more.. Food was bad and look like it was left out for a long time. They take the time to refill. Do not recommend... go to the king buffet on 35 in Denton.

I wasn't planning to write a review, but this place left such a bad taste in my mouth (pun…read moreintended) that I still get angry thinking about it. In March 2019, my dad and I both became extremely ill after eating here. I woke up at 3 a.m. with a very high fever, vomiting, and diarrhea. I was sick for hours and continued dealing with nausea for nearly five days. We both ended up in the ER, and I required IV fluids and monitoring. It was, without question, the sickest I have ever been. I reported this restaurant to city code, and the health department was there within an hour of my complaint. Below is the report from the health department: "Anonymous, Our inspection of the New China King Buffet did not go well, and the restaurant has been closed until it can come up to basic health standards. In short, the kitchen needs a thorough cleaning, temperature rules were not being obeyed, and practices within the kitchen were not up to modern standards. Again, I am sorry that you and your family became ill, but I do appreciate you taking the time to inform us of the problem. Please let me know if there is anything more that I can provide you. Respectfully, Kevin Cummings | Chief Health Inspector Department of Development Services | Consumer Health Division" What concerns me even more is that the restaurant appeared to reopen almost immediately. I'm not sure how that process works, but it was surprising given the severity of the violations. When I later filed a BBB complaint, the restaurant responded with claims that I showed up the next day to argue with them. That is completely false. I didn't leave my house for a week for being so ill. They also suggested only my dad was affected, which is also untrue--we were both seriously ill. This makes me question whether there were other incidents they may be confusing this with. They even threatened legal action over my review, which I find unreasonable. Customers have every right to share their honest experiences. Based on what happened to us and the pattern of reviews since, I would strongly urge others to be cautious when eating here.
