I ordered a 1lb vegan cake for my husband's birthday recently. It was a vegan vanilla cake with mango glaze and some strawberries and blueberries for decoration. The flavor was great and the texture was so soft and amazing. I normally don't even eat icing on cakes but this time I did. I wish they put a few more fruits on top but other than that, service was good and cake was great. The store was pretty cute too. I would order from them again! :) Thanks guys!

We got a last minute, small wedding cake from Mr Cake to celebrate our civil wedding. The cake was vanilla and strawberry and it was one of the best cakes we have had in a while! I recommend Mr Cake for its freshness, flavor and reliability. He was very attentive and helpful to get us what we wanted. We will be ordering again in the future.

Best mango cake!!! I decided to try this bakery after I was last mung looking for a place to buy my mom a birthday cake and I ordered it and they said they could make it that same day. It's really good the mango purée is so good and for it being a cake it was not too sweet. I'm glad I took a chance and everybody loved it. Will definitely be coming back.

This place has the best eggless cakes in the bay area. They are very accommodating and they make sure that they deliver your order on time and they are one of the few bakeries who would call you on the day of event and remind you that you have a pick up with them regardless of if you have made the payment before or not. Their snacks also taste amazing. I think before writing this review I have tried each and every cake from them and we order cakes four times a year for some or the other celebrations/ parties and for each of those times cake is from this place.

Got their Black Forest cake for my roommate's birthday because she loves a Black Forest and the reviews for that were outstanding here. It was great. Usually we don't happen to finish birthday cake's on the night we first cut them but this was over in a jiffy. "Not too sweet", as they say and pretty authentic. We've also tried some of their other flavors through the pastries and I'd rate them pretty high. Love the Butterscotch as well. Want to try the Pistachio next, and maybe a customized design next time? Actually had a cricket themed cake at another birthday and they had made that well too. Owner was friendly, and the cake was ready ahead of time. Ordered a day ahead. Also tried some of the puffs (veg, paneer) and they were good. Very good business serving high quality cakes!

Stopped by after a Safeway run. Got 2 puff pastries, ine egg and one of the curry ones. The tablet ordering was down so I ordered it with the front counter guy. It was quick and I brought it home and reheated them in the airfryer. They were sooooooo delicious! A great little snack! Will be back to try out more of their pastries. Didnt get a chance to try any of their cakes though.

I bought 5 slices of cakes that were available today, mango, pistachio, butter scotch, pineapple and chocolate. Owner Santoso is super friendly and accommodating. I am looking for a cake for a birthday party, this the tasting. There were not that many cakes on display but Santoso went back inside the kitchen to get me all cakes he had. That was nice. Other than the chocolate, the cakes have the same taste, color, light, not too sweet, and...taste the same. The chocolate actually is about the same but in chocolate color. The mango, to me, had an artificial flavor. The butterscotch is probably has slightly different taste because of the crunch of butterscotch candy. Owner claims that he uses only the fresh ingredients (out of bottle??). I was expecting that the mango cake will at least have some real mango, either in decor or bits and pieces inside, the same with the pineapple., instead you only got the "flavoring" taste.

Mr. Cake Plus is a fantastic addition to the local bakery scene. I am a passionate amateur baker and am quite picky about baked goods. I decided to take a gamble on Mr. Cake for my husband's 40th birthday based on the great Yelp reviews, and have become a Mr. Cake convert! I ordered a mocha cake but, in deference to my husband's Israeli-Iraqi preferences, asked the baker to include cardamom. He did, and it was achingly delicious (in the words of my brother-in-law: "foodgasm"). Even our toddler (who definitely does not like coffee-flavored things) went crazy for the incredibly moist, perfect cake and delicious whipping cream frosting. (I was worried the frosting might be too light, as I'm usually a cream-cheese frosting woman, but it was delightful.) On top of how incredible the cask tasted, it also looked phenomenal. I asked the baker to write a message to my husband in Hebrew. He did a fantastic job--I remain impressed with his transcribing-a-foreign-language skills! Our family back home was in awe over the pictures. Finally, I would be remiss not to rave about the customer service. The baker was incredibly responsive and responsible. He even checked in later in the day by text to make sure that my husband enjoyed his birthday treat. Overall, the experience was a 10/10. The Bay Area is very lucky to have Mr. Cake! read more

Mr. Cake was amazing! The contact page on his website connected me to the live chat right away even though it was 11pm!! :O He was responding to my messages and queries immediately. He reassured me all the cake could be made eggless and without gelatin. The price was also very reasonable! The cake was ready at the appropriate time and ge was very friendly through the whole process. Coming to the main thing, the taste! It was a 2 lb butterscotch cake which was basically INHALED by 7 of us in the group. It was so moist, airy and not too overwhelmed by the cream. Everyone was interested to know where I go it. A very unique take on cakes. I ordered pistachio eggless cake. It tasted amazing - very moist, with rose syrup and a hint of cardamom, very light and delicious icing, elegantly topped with crushed pistachios. Santosh is super friendly and communicative. Yesterday I ordered a 2lb chocolate cake for a friends outdoor birthday gathering today. This afternoon I picked it up and was immediately impressed with how beautiful it was: a few pieces of fruit decorated the top of the cake above the "Happy Birthday" ~ gorgeous! It was a huge hit ~ super moist and delicious! You know a cake is a hit when people take 1 bite and exclaim "oh my gosh! where did you get this cake, it's amazing!". I told them all about Mr. Cake on the side-street side of Bailey Plaza, tucked away by the coin laundry and beauty salon. It's only been there a few months and I only realized it was there yesterday. I was very impressed with this cake. I got the chocolate mocha and it was light and fluffy as opposed to being too rich but still very, very good. There was also no charge to add a happy birthday to my wife which was another plus. I wish the owner well as he knew it would be difficult to get started in the pandemic but he was determined to do so anyway. He was a super nice guy and I will be back for sure. read more

Santosh was absolutely amazing, very friendly from the start, willing to work with you on what you want and answer your questions. He suggested the pineapple cake but I somehow wanted the mango one as I saw a lot of pictures on his website of it and was craving mango so we went with that. He even added in some fruits as decor for the same price. The place seems pretty new and doesn't yet have a sign board so you'll need to call him if you have trouble finding the place once you get there but no biggie. Best part - the cake turned out super delicious and folks loved it! Super pleased and my new go to baker :) definitely recommend! read more

Also, the best part is you don't have to give 2-3 weeks of notice for custom cakes, but just 2-3 days of notice should be good & the work is excellent. The spicy noodle soup is solid too but it doesn't hit the same way. The SP4 gourmet deluxe is my other staple and I order it like an appetizer. The protein comes out fried with a crispy shell and soft inside. The sauce leans hard on lemongrass and citrus but it's savory throughout, not sweet. Haven't had anything like it anywhere else. Orange nuggets are chewy with a citrusy and sweet glaze. Good enough that I skip the actual appetizers for these. The Szechuan Pineapple is spicy, salty, and savory with chewy gluten and a citrus undertone running through it. Green papaya salad is strictly sour and tangy. Fresh, nothing heavy about it. Sweet potato curry is definitely underrated. Potato goes soft all the way through and the whole thing tastes hearty without being heavy. Basil eggplant tofu skews sweet and the eggplant goes silky and it's a family favorite. Eggplant claypot has the same idea but the sauce is better and it comes out in the claypot which makes it feel like a proper dish. Jalapeno BBQ seitan was a miss. The BBQ sauce tastes flat. It was also super gingery, which I'm not used to. The sauce wasn't bad, but it didn't remind me of the typical General Tso sauce I'm used to. That said, I did enjoy the crispy texture, broccoli, and bell peppers. I'd rate this a 3.5/5. Yelp AI mentioned that the Black Pepper Chicken was the highest-rated item, so I decided to try the Black Pepper Chicken Chow Mein. At first bite, I was unsure of it, but as I kept eating, I enjoyed it more and more. I love that they include so many veggies, it really adds to the dish. I would give this a 4/5. Overall, I thought the food was good. I can definitely see myself ordering other items from here next time I get a craving for Chinese takeout.

Once your order is placed, you wait for a text to let you know your order is ready. Then I have to pick up at the window. Spring rolls were okay. I really wanted to try the crispy oyster mushrooms or the lion mane mushroom dish. Or even the Sea Fruits plate but I wasn't going to have enough time to enjoy them. The patio was fine. A few picnic tables. You bus your own table at the end. Everything they used was biodegradable. I wish it was a better experience. The food looked delicious in pictures, but eating in an outdoor patio, ordering from a QR code, and picking up your food from the window made for a sad and sub par experience.

This might be because all of the orders are packed to-go, so maybe there's less space for food? For instance, the thali from the Palo Alto location includes a side salad, which was not included in my order here. The other sides (pickled salad and daal lentil), along with the entree, were also significantly smaller here. The prices are the same, so I do think the Palo Alto dishes are more worth it.

The texture was so moist, each bite just melted in my mouth. The sweetness was perfectly balanced, not too overpowering, and you could tell they were made with fresh ingredients.
