I did not eat in the restaurant but upon picking up said food, the vibe was pretty great. It felt classy old school beach vibe, tho not right on the beach. The owner / manager who took my order and gave me the pick-up order acted like we were old friends. So damn friendly. Food: Blackened grouper sando with fries and slaw. Wow. Fuhgeddaboudit. All were great. Even the slaw. Good seafood slaw?! What are the odds of that? It's usually a throw-away. Not here. Fish was perfect flaky and flavorful. The side of "tartar" sauce was even super tasty, though not needed as the fish was so moist and well cooked. Fries were of the battered variety, which I like. They were not too greasy and very tasty. If you have never had the Floridian delicacy of a blackened or fried grouper sando, you need to live more life...and try it here. Overall, highly recommend. Cheers!

I read it was a little tricky to find, because it sits in the middle of a little resort. It's a great walk over a little bridge that crosses over a pond. It resembles a seaside restaurant with lots of seating inside and outside. I sat at the bar and was enthusiastically greeted by the bartender. I asked for her recommendations and I went with the hogfish sandwich. Luckily, she told me I could get it grilled and blackened instead of fried. I could tell they knew how to cook fish because it came out perfectly. Most would probably think it was undercooked, but that's how fish should be cooked. I appreciated this attention to detail and thought it was delicious.

My grouper, however, didn't quite hit the mark. It was cooked well but pretty basic, and the presentation didn't showcase the quality of the fish - I give it a 3. I also wish the mussels came with bread to soak up the delicious broth. Service was friendly, though lunch took a little longer than expected. We also noticed another customer dining indoors with a dog. It wasn't disruptive, just a little unexpected. I still love Swan River's seafood market and genuinely want the restaurant to be just as memorable. The quality is there, I think a few thoughtful touches would make a big difference.

I tried the $49 menu and my husband and friends did $59. The clam chowder was good but my Linguine alla Vongole was too garlicy for me (main reason only rated 4, so maybe a 4.5). My husband, however had the awesome Crab & Shrimp Egg Rolls (amazing!) and delicious Veal & Shrimp. Portions were full size, so we both took home some of the meal so we could eat dessert. I had donut the holes and he had the creme brulee, both were good. Service was excellent and we had a table at the window so had a water view, which was nice. I would definitely go back for the Egg Rolls and try more of their offerings.

WOW, what a disappointment!…read more Decided to come here for mother's day brunch. Like many places in Naples, a prix fix menu was standard. I gave this restaurant two stars. Not for the food. But for the service. It really should be 1.5 stars but this system doesn't allow that. Let me explain. Let's start with the appetizers. Best thing on the menu was the beet salad and goat cheese. Probably the best part of the entire meal and its presentation was fantastic. Followed by the clam chowder. Lobster bisque was pretty bad as was the ceasar salad. Onto the main items. PRIME RIB. Many ordered this but not one person liked or finished theirs. In some cases overly fatty and in others the meat was super chewy and barely flavorful. Most of prime rib from all guests was taken home to feed to the dogs. Fish was a tri-tip, overly salty but also undercooked. Desserts - Have t say the donuts were the clear winner. Key Lime Pie had a gross drizzle of raspberry sauce (While do so many restaurants do this?). Creme de pot, so sweet that your teeth hurt from eating it. Look, if you are going to charge high prices and have a prix fix menu for a special occasion like mother's day or other, then THAT menu of items better be spot on and near perfect. In this case, "M" failed miserably. Certainly won't be back.

The grouper "balls" were deep fried (not oily) and hot and crunchy with pineapple slaw, candied sesame pecans, steamed rice and creamy-mango sauce (can't wait to go back for lunch and order this dish again). My hubby ordered Nemo's Snapper Fish Tacos (2) priced at $18.95 and served with Caribbean rice, warm tortilla (Wheat or Corn) green cabbage, lime, queso fresco cheese, pickled onion condiments selection and creamy apple salad. His meal was outstanding. Highly recommend for a unique place for lunch.

I ordered their so-called specialty: the Nemo's Ultimate Miso Sea Bass--advertised as a "legendary signature dish served with a citrus-ginger butter sauce and asparagus." Everyone was very happy with their food. The cesar salad is very good. They put a lot of a cheese on it, which is awesome. I love cheese. I have only had the triggerfish and it is an amazing dish. The fish is not fishy at all. It is meaty but light and flaky. They give a good sized portion. The pimento cheese is to die for. I can't believe how much of it I ate on my last visit. Then we have the key lime pie. Wow. Double wow. It has a burnt sugar topping similar to creme brulee. The filling is light and tart. The pie ties with Sweet Melissas. The interior is super cute. Service started a little slowly--we didn't meet our server for about 15 minutes, although another team member quickly brought us water and drinks. Once our server arrived, he was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. It seemed like he may have been covering several tables that evening, so we completely understood. Our meal ended up taking about 90 minutes after reservation, which was longer than we expected for a quick dinner. We shared two dozen oysters, king crab legs, the miso butterfish, and cocktail.. The oysters were fresh, though we had slightly higher expectations. The king crab was easily the standout of the meal. The miso butterfish was well prepared but a bit heavy on the sauce--I think a touch of acidity and a side of vegetables would have balanced it nicely, something to consider. Between the waterfront breeze, friendly hosts, and our server's hospitality, we still had an enjoyable evening. It may have simply been a busy night for the service team. We'd gladly give Syren another try.

Tried out this farm to table spot and walked away with a solid impression overall…read more I went with the In House Smoked Turkey Sandwich from their lunch special at $19.50. Naturally smoked turkey with brie, pesto mayo, and tomato jam on gluten free bread, served with a fresh Caesar salad. Pretty good sandwich. The turkey was flavorful, the bread held up nicely, and the salad was crisp with a good coating of parmesan. Decent value for what you get. My wife ordered the fish tacos, which came with a side salad topped with blue cheese crumbles and red onion. The presentation looked great with nice char on the fish, fresh pico, and shredded cabbage piled high. But the execution fell short. The fish itself was chewy and not very tender. That's a problem when fish tacos are one of your popular dishes. On the bright side, our waitress was nice and attentive. No complaints on the service front. The cozy atmosphere lives up to the farm to table vibe they're going for. The Verdict: The Local delivers a decent lunch with good service and fresh ingredients. My smoked turkey sandwich hit the spot, but those fish tacos need work. Four stars for a solid overall experience, but maybe skip the tacos next time.
