Ok, my ube was so good, but a tragedy happened... I left most of the cheesecake in the back of my car and completely forgot about it for several days. I am SO ASHAMED of this. I came back and confessed everything to the staff behind the counter. I also had to come back with a few fellow Elites and show them how wonderful this spot was. Everyone was so nice about my mishap. I ended up getting a coconut cheesecake this time around, and I am so sorry, but I think it was better than the ube. SOOOOOOOOOOOOO good, and the mousse on top was heavenly. The crème brûlée was just ok, but you don't need it with this cheesecake. Also, with all the bears decorating the spot and bringing all the fun... how can you not love this place?
Japanese- style cotton cheese cake. Have tried plain and chocolate lava flavors. Cakes are very light and fluffy, less sugar than I personally prefer but perfect for those looking to have a great dessert and not be knocked down by sugar. Street parking is difficult but if you can snag it, definitely drop into Nan Xiang Soup Dumplings too, and complete dinner!!!!
My friend got me Mr. Bear cheesecakes for my birthday. WOW LUCKY ME. The packaging is adorable .. very Hermes luxury vibe. The two boxes were perfectly fit in a bag with handles. They also came with prepackaged serving utensils. Just perfect. The cheesecakes themselves were to die for. I'm still thinking about the Coconut one. It has a lava inner so it's very moist and fluffy. It's not too much coconut flavor either..just right. The texture for the classic cheesecake was also so good. Highly recommend!!
If you're in the mood for cheesecake but specifically Japanese Cotton Cheese Cake this is the place to get it. Mr Bear is located in Flushing. I got an order of the signature original cheesecake though there are other varieties of flavors. And the tart which reminds me of flan but just as delicious. I recommend stopping here if you're close by.
The first time I came here, it was opening day, and the wait for a cheesecake was over 3 hours. The line has gotten considerably shorter since then, but the cheesecakes are just as delicious. I've tried a few flavors thus far, and they are all amazing. I love how fluffy and airy they are, moreover, they are extremely addictive. The store itself is super adorable with teddy bears. The lines are super fast and efficient. Highly recommend!
The pork floss mini cakes here are pretty good! The cake itself is light, airy, and not too sweet with the right balance of flavors. It's a bit on the pricey side, but the taste makes it worth a try.
Even though Mr Bear is a fluffy cheesecake bakery, my favorite menu item is their creme brûlées. They aren't overly sweet and are buy one get one half off. If you wanted to try their cheesecakes I would recommend their coconut lava flavor, but put it in the fridge for a few hours. To me, it tastes better when it's cold. I would pass on the other flavors as they aren't anything special. Service was quick and if you are a student you can get 10% all their menu items.
Absolutely one of the best cotton cheesecakes i have had. The cheesecake was still warm when I got home after am hour. We got the Uber flavor and I loved it. The Uber flavor was very prominent. I do like the fact that when I eat their cheesecake, it does not leave like a weird sensation on my teeth like most cotton/Japanese cheesecakes from other stores. Will definitely come back to try other flavors.
Cute Japanese type cheesecake shop, though they call it cotton cheesecake. They have different flavors and free samples at the counter. I got the original one. The packaging is very cute and they include a knife and spoon. The cake is very light and fluffy. There isn't a strong cheese flavor though and it is quite moist. Refrigeration doesn't seem to change the texture. Compared with Keki's cheesecake, this one is more wet. Not sure which one I like better.
Been here twice now, first time I got the chocolate cake and it was so good. Fluffy and soft. I ate it around the bear picture on the cake haha. They give out samples which is nice because it was my first time that's time. I came back second time because it was delicious first time. Reminds me of la cheesecake in college point. Second time I got the ube cake. It didn't have the bear print on it:( tasted like real ube/sweet potato not artificial kind. I still like the chocolate one better. I want to try the strawberry one but they are always out of it Will try original one next time. I highly recommend for first timers! Love their packaging too. It's like Hermes of fluffy cheesecake
First time here! The mini cheesecake and ice cream was outstanding! Great choices too! Thank you for a great experience and great service! The ambiance was full of cute bears :) Must try! I recommend!
I always walked by this place and got the free samples outside the shop when in Flushing, but I never really got anything. I recently got this lava cheesecake. I can say that it was really good, nice, and fluffy. I love the lava on top, also chocolate, yum. But is it worth the price for a 6-inch cheesecake? not really. But for a special occasion, maybe.
A cute Japanese cheesecake place with decadent souflee pancakes. Lots of options to choose from. Inside is relatively small, with one table a couple chairs, exterior has plush teddy bears hung up. The original cotton cheesecake was delicious! So soft, not too sweet yet still satisfying. Roughly $20 a cheesecake. Pricey but worth it.
Participated in this trend to try their cheesecake. $18 for a cheesecake, wasn't wowed or excited by it at all. It was soft but lacked flavor; tasted like the pound cake you can get from Asian bakeries. Like many other reviews, it lacked the cream cheese (?) taste/flavor. Doubt I'd return again, if I needed a "paper wrapped cake", if probable visit a local bakery for it instead. read more
Saw a lot of hype for the cheesecake so I decided to give it a try. I like the decoration inside. It is very cute with all the teddy bears. There isn't a very long wait and they had the cheesecake already made. It was quick and easy to order. I brought the original cheesecake. Unfortunately I didn't really like the cheesecake. It was very wet in the middle which gave it a weird soggy texture. Also the flavor wasn't to my liking. read more
Came for the hype and left with mixed feelings. I ordered the original cheese cake and the Jasmine dream milk tea. We were told that the cheesecake tastes best when left in the fridge for 2 hours. So I had a sip of my tea first. The Jasmine dream milk tea comes with a "cloud" that had a meringue-like texture that was torched. The tea was not as fragrant or floral as the competitions nearby. Taste was lacking. The cake was mid. I took it home and waited. With my timer going off, we tried the cake. It wasn't dense or sweet or fluffy. I guess it just existed. An expensive cute treat. Reminds me of a denser sponge cake with a tint of cheesecake taste. Expect fast and good service with helpful staff. Cakes sell out! Get there at least an hour before closing. The place feels like a rush renovation. There are holes in the wall with exposed studs. I guess putting on some spackle and painting it was too much. Bears lined the wall and they all looking a little dirty already. Cushions by the windows looked as if they have been stepped on. Footprints on spots where they shouldn't be. Bonus: They are currently offering a discount for the hot pot restaurant (SuanQ Guizhou Hot Pot) next door if you show them your Mr. Bear receipt. It seems to be owned by the same people. read more
We had seen this place from a few different influencers and ads online and my friend knows I love Japanese style cheesecake, so we came here after dinner and had a nice time. Outside, there was a guy handing out samples of the coconut variety. It was soooooo good. I was sad it only came in one size. The menu had lots of tasty choices, but we decided on the strawberry and the two pack of minis. Both flavors were light, creamy, fluffy and delicious. Not too sweet and not too tart. The cute bear wall and giant teddies were fun to take photos of. I hope they start offering toppings for the minis. read more

Such a cute dessert spot in Flushing! Everything is bear-themed (obviously). They have a nice selection of cheese cake, crème brûlée, beverages, and more. The staff was helpful and patient - I asked a lot of questions! I can't wait to go back! read more

I got the bamboo matcha and the mango pomelo drink. The bamboo matcha was interesting with a scoop of ice cream, both drinks had nice and pretty presentation! I also ordered the regular cheesecake which I honestly got flavor fatigue and texture overload after a while. First 2 slices were nice light and airy, anything after I should have just preserved for later lol. The service was so friendly, and the worker answered all my questions. They had samples of the new release lava cheesecakes, but they were sadly sold out of the full sizes. Luckily they let me have a few extra pieces because of that lol! The establishment is also service animal / pet friendly which is super inviting!! I also really liked the teddy bear wall and big teddy bear on the outside, so cute! Bags and packaging are giving a Hermes vibe lol! read more

Tasted like a Japanese bouncy cheesecake. It was missing a bit of the milky and creaminess compared to the one I've tried in Japan. It is a close second to the good ones. It is also a lacking in flavor compared to Uncle Tetsu's cheesecake. read more
Came here to buy jiggly cheesecake. It's like Uncle Tetsu in California. Loving the aroma when you come in. Service is fast and friendly. Coming here during my vacay is a great experience. Saw a little bit of Asian environment. It's also close to Pop Mart and Miniso stores. Bought Ube, Chocolate & Original flavors of cheesecake. Check out my pics. read more

Service was quick and efficient. The spacing was all bear theme, that I wish they had merchandise for sale. The cheesecake tastes like I was eating a CLOUD, not too sweet. Very light and fluffy, but also delicious. Good balance of texture. I would for sure come back to try the chocolate and strawberry flavor! read more
Came during opening weekend and they were doing a promo. We waited over 20mins. I got the cheesecake and a free apple Jasmine tea. The cloud cheesecake $18 was fluffy, not too sweet but also didn't have much flavor. It tastes a little better after it's refrigerated in my opinion. The drink was surprisingly very delicious. Overall, I thought it was just OK and definitely not worth the wait if there is still a wait for it. The packaging is very nice if you wanted to bring it to a party. read more

I was around the neighborhood and decided to try it. The inside was cute with a wall of teddy bears. They had fresh cheesecakes that were on the counter waiting to cool down. They have a grand opening sale of 20% off. I bought the original flavor that was the only flavor available and it came with free teddy bear keychain. The cheesecake was light not too sweet, however there was more of a egg flavor than cheese. I thought it was ok. read more
I've always been curious ever since I noticed they opened. The orange really pulled me in. It was a bold color and the giant teddy bears lured me in. They gave me 20% off for the original cheesecake because of slight imperfections. I loved how they had samples of the original cheesecake. I basically wasn't sure what to choose and choose the top 2 options listed which were the original cheesecake and jasmine milk tea with cotton cloud. They both tasted great. I'm saying this as someone who usually doesn't love cheesecake. It had a tolerable taste and I enjoyed the texture. It wasn't too airy or too dense. The cotton cloud unfortunately deflated with the long drive home. read more

Cotton Cheesecake (Original Flavor) $17.99 They currently have a 20% promotion so this was $14.39 (before tax) and $15.67 (after tax). . Since it was their first day of opening, there was a 40 mins wait time. They have two molds/shapes, round and heart and it's said to be random on the one you get. But I'm not sure if that will be the case once they settle down. They were just baking as many as they could due to the high volume of customers. . While it's cute, I did think it was a tad small for the price. As you can see, it's about 4 servings. It could be 2 depending on how much you consider a serving is. You do you! . It's called cotton but it was far from cotton texture. It was not jiggly or soft. It was quite dense to be called cotton. . The cake tasted very eggy and not cheesy like a cheesecake. It didn't have a silky/melting texture either. It was eggy. Not quite dense like quiche though. Aren't eggs expensive at the moment??? Don't get me wrong, I don't mind the eggy taste but I was expecting more creamy/cheesy taste and texture. . Being that they just opened and all, I'm sure there are kinks, so this isn't to say I won't try it again to see if it's still the same or different. . It also comes in chocolate and strawberry flavor. . I did like the cake cutter and spoon that came with the cake. Since there was one spoon, could it be ONE serving!? Ya know, like a personal sized pizza lol. . That free bear keychain makes the cake look kinda small. read more
Absolutely delicious! It's so airy, fluffy, moist but not too sweet! I really wanted to try the chocolate flavored one but it was all sold out when I got there. The place is small but cutely decorated with stuff bears everywhere. The service was quick and friendly. Would definitely get it again, just hope they have chocolate available when I go again. read more
Very cute bear cheesecake that I didn't want to cut into it. The original cake is very moist and light. I really think I could eat the whole cake myself if I wanted to. I taste the cheesecake flavor and it's not dense like some reviewers had mentioned. I mean what exactly is cotton cheesecake anyways? And how do people know what cotton supposed to taste like? Cotton meaning light? Then yes it's very light and not too sweet. It is small and for $18 but that's pretty standard for this type of cake. They are similar to the japanese soufflé cheesecake. They have other flavors like chocolate and strawberry. I enjoyed the cake and would probably come back and try the other two cakes. read more

To start off, asian style cheesecakes are my favorite. Mr bears cheesecake is slightly different from most asian/Japanese cheesecakes. It's like a hybrid between a sponge cake and cheesecake so it's more airy. The cheese taste isn't that strong and it's more of an eggy aftertaste. Because it's so airy you can easily finish the whole cake in one sitting so be careful. They also pack it with a spoon and knife so you can literally just eat it anywhere. Their cheesecake is slightly smaller than other asian cheesecakes though but just as expensive so be warned. I only had the original flavor but my friend tried the chocolate one and said it was slightly dry. Mightve been because it was sitting out longer or because of the chocolate. Apart from their cheesecakes, I tried their osmanthus oolong cloud drink and that was really good. It's slightly cheaper than most of the fancy bubble tea places in flushing so I would recommend but I think its just as good. read more
Mr. Bear is a is a cute new spot in Flushing, the line was very long and we waited over half an hour. We ordered two of the original cotton cheesecakes ($17.99 each), and they were light, airy, and just the perfect amount of sweet. The bear logo on the cake is an adorable touch! Since we were among the first 100 customers, we also received a free hair tie, a cute bear plush, and a refreshing apple jasmine drink, which was a nice bonus. The shop has a welcoming atmosphere, and I'm excited to come back to try more of their drinks and cakes. The packaging was appealing with the bright orange colored boxes and bags. Definitely worth a visit for fluffy cheesecake lovers! read more

I love this new place that has the Asian style cheesecakes. I have been to other Japanese chains with these type of cotton cheesecake and this one was pretty good. The first time I came at 4 pm all of the cakes were sold out. The cakes are baked fresh daily so when I came by around 11:30 they had just come out. The smell inside the cafe was incredible. Sadly they do not have the other flavors yet like the chocolate or strawberry. I tried to he original which was super soft and jiggly. Not too eggy. I actually added some jam to the side with my cake which made it even better. They actually remind me of the souffle pancake more than regular cheesecake and not as dense as the New York style. Since it was made fresh they recommend that you let the cake cool down a bit before trying. The only thing is that the size is good to share with 3-4 people. The cake is on the small side so not for a big gathering. It also comes in a cute orange bag that can be reused. They also have cloud lattes with a large foamy top for extra flavor. There is not much seating inside except for a few chairs and no tables. The cafe has a bear theme because of their logo so you can take pictures along their cute teddy bear wall while you wait. Staff was polite when ordering and explained the process. Sometimes they have promos because they are related with the restaurant next door. I will definitely come back to try their other flavors when it comes out. read more

Got the original half baked cheesecake. Really good texture and flavor between not too cheesy and not too sweet. For the portion size the price is good split between two people. Very cute interior. read more

Went on a Saturday night. The line was moving along and service was quick. Cute little place with bear plushies all around. Been wanting to try it for a while since they first opened. Got their regular japanese cheesecake and I must say it was pretty good. Brought it home and refrigerated for like an hour even though other reviews suggested a few hours for better taste. Was light and fluffy with just the right amount of sweetness. Will probably be back to try their drinks as well. read more
